November 2017

The Eagle Note from the Editors Busy. This is the buzz word for November. Busy on the farms; harvesting and preparing for the Winter. Busy in the garden; pruning, dead-heading (as Monty Don keeps reminding us!), and planting bulbs for the Spring. Busy preparing for the festive season; yes, Christmas is only two months away and there are a number of events mentioned in this issue. Busy weather; we don’t know about you, but the weather can stop being busy whenever it likes!! With the remnants of Ophelia and Storm Brian hitting us we have certainly taken a battering recently. Hopefully you haven’t suffered too much. With the weather as it is at the moment, we all need to take care “around and about”. Debris from the trees (as well as the Autumnal fall of the leaves), mud on the roads as well as lots of standing water can mean the roads are treacherous in places.

End of the Summer With Autumn having well and truly arrived, we also need to remember to put the clocks back on Saturday 28th October.

Deadline for articles The December issue of The Eagle is a double issue and is generally full of extra events, news and articles. To avoid disappointment, please don’t forget the deadline for submission of any articles for The Eagle is the 20th of each month. Any articles submitted after this date can’t be included as The Eagle is now sent to printers.
