April 2017
The Eagle Note from the Editors Well, 2017’s Summer was brief wasn’t it!! The weather we’ve been experiencing over the last couple of weeks has been awful – the strong winds have caused havoc on the village roads with the debris from the recently cut hedges littering the roads and, of course, our poor Spring flowers have been violently blown about. April sees Easter, a time for reflection – and with it comes two bank holidays. This in turn means changes to the rubbish and recycling collections for the month. Take a look on page 15 for the dates of collection – but basically, collections will be one day later than usual. The 1st of May is a bank holiday as well, so the same applies. While we’re on the subject of rubbish collections, the District Council are looking at changing what is collected when and they want your feedback – see page 8 for details of the consultation.
We’d like to say “Hi” to our new neighbours who have recently moved into Hillside – we hope you’ll be very happy here in Yarnscombe.
Last chance Once again, thank you to those of you who have let us have your donations towards the production of The Eagle for this year. A lot of you have been very generous again – thank you. If you haven’t passed your donation envelope to either Pat (at The Briars) or Sharron (at Heather Bank), this is your last chance to receive The Eagle. If you’ve mislaid your “little brown envelope” for your donation, please let us know and we can let you have another one. Don’t forget the deadline for submission of any articles for The Eagle is the 20th of each month. Until next time ……………………………. !!
