. We hope that you had an enjoyable Christmas and peaceful start to 2019. The turnout at St Andrew’s Church for the carol service was fantastic. It was great to see the church full of Yarnscombe-ites, as well as parishoners from other villages, to celebrate Christmas as a community. A special thanks to Marian Farr and her team of florists who decorated the church so beautifully for the Christmas period. Also, a big thank you to Rev Paul Bysouth for a rousing address, the Parochial Church Council, the refreshments and all the help behind the scenes by the Rescue Group.

VILLAGER NEWS It is was with great sadness that just before Christmas, Denys Crocker passed away. Our deepest sympathies are sent to Margaret, Sue and the rest of the family. We are sure that the Crocker family were pleased to see so many people from the village in attendance at both the funeral and afterwards at the Village Hall.

A warm welcome to Sue Kilby who moved into Rose Acre during December and to the Evans & O’Brien family who have moved into 2 Meadow Villas and Fairview. We hope you will all be very happy here in Yarnscombe. Don’t miss out. Tickets are still available for the Fleetwood Mac tribute band at the village hall on 23rd February. See page 5 for the full details. We’ve also got The Whiddon Fryer coming along to serve hot food.
