U

NT Dallas isn’t just growing from an enrollment standpoint. Our tree-lined, 264-acre campus is evolving physically, as a thoughtfully-designed campus master plan fills out to accommodate more trail-blazing students. The university’s first residence hall is now in place – transforming UNT Dallas into a residential campus – and a new $63 million student center is opening in 2018. Future projects include an amphitheater that will look out onto UNT Dallas’ beautiful wooded campus, as well as a recreation center and arena that will be accessible to students and the public, while also serving as home to a new intercollegiate athletics program.

Students are at the heart of everything we do whether you’re the first in your family to attend college, or a professional looking to take the next step in your education and career. UNTD graduates don’t just leave with a diploma – our alumni are equipped with practical skills and knowledge needed to land a job. UNTD has a dedicated career center and partnerships in the business community designed to place our graduates directly into the workforce after commencement.

LIBERAL ARTS & SCIENCES

s the largest School on the UNT Dallas campus, Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS) is UNTD’s home for the humanities, social sciences, life sciences, and communication. Courses are offered in languages, literature, history, and political science. LAS students can major in fields such as sociology, information technology, mathematics, secondary teaching in math, and the applied arts and sciences.

UNT Dallas liberal arts students are also asked to focus on community service in order to better understand how our worlds are evolving.

CAMERON – Criminal Justice Pursuing a higher education has helped me set goals and network with people that I probably would have never met. Before I came to UNT Dallas, I wanted to be a firefighter. Now I’ve set the bar even higher and want become an arson investigator, and someday start a non-profit that helps and empowers the homeless.

TEACHING

NT Dallas’ innovative School of Education is known as the Emerging Teacher Institute (ETI). ETI is dedicated to preparing and equipping teachers with tools and experiences that enable them to balance their own health with the call-of-a-lifetime to teach. ETI treats its students as critical leaders and equips them with the most current teaching competencies and clinical skills. In addition, ETI focuses on developing the social and emotional learning skills needed for success in today’s classrooms.

OLYMPIA – Early Childhood Education I love UNT Dallas. The faculty and staff are so welcoming. They really want you to succeed and want to provide you all the tools necessary. My professors know me by name and ask how my classes are coming along. It’s a family.

HUMAN SERVICES

he University of North Texas at Dallas School of Human Services promotes human development through education, research, and service in the profession of counseling and human services. The School of Human Services offers two undergraduate degree programs – a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management and Leadership (HSML), as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies (CDFS).

The HSML and CDFS programs incorporate internships and service learning projects that benefit our local community. For example, our students have provided play therapy to children impacted by various forms of trauma and change, counseled troubled teens, and advocated for homeless families. With landing a professional job as the end goal for our graduates, this experiential approach to learning and gaining relevant experience is designed to place our Human Services students into their careers once a degree is earned.

ED – Military Veteran I love working with at-risk kids and being able to help out my fellow military veterans who are dealing with psychological problems. I’ve dealt first-hand with post-traumatic stress disorder and I know how important it is to feel supported. I know these kids are screaming for help. I want to use my degree to help create lasting change in their lives.

he UNT Dallas School of Business offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in Accounting, Hospitality Management, Finance, General Business, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. Additionally, business students may earn a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, as well as a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) that can be completed – along with a bachelor’s degree – in five years.

Jennifer – Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Management My mom grew up on a small farm in Mexico and went to school until second grade. She left school to take care of her younger siblings. She came to the U.S. not knowing English. She worked hard to learn the language, write it and speak it. She’s my motivation. Going to college has helped me grow up. As a first-generation college student, and the oldest in my family, going to college was stressful, but I made it happen.
