“48 Hours” Installation :Video art - Photography Inspired by this thoughts : we shouldn’t sympathize when judging what we reached considering life and death instincts, because it involves many confusing disappearing operations, as one instinct expels the other or egoism instinct be transformed to another subject. where dreams are not just a direct reading to the dream’s symbol, but it is a product of hard careful work owing to solving the symbols in a way that simplifies the dream analysis by finding the latent hidden under the ailing , and afterwards, through reconsidering these symbols in a new form by tracing the context, that the latent passed through it to the ailing . -sigmund Freud- it is my feeling after our egyptian revolution that i was a political arrested during this period at last 26 jan till 28 jan for two days by Mubarak system, and this my feeling , thoughts and writings there and what i faced in this period. Egypt Egypt Egypt
The people want to drop the regime Mubarak, tell the truth, did u ruin our lives or not?? Peaceful protests and demands are rising and spreading all around Egypt. Officers generals and police cars, came out of the sudden, they grabbed us and start checking our IDs’ so i told them that i’m an artist, they replied: really!! so you are an Ad. designer, with the Egyptian flag on your shoulder and holding a CAMERA in your hand!!! we are looking for you guys :)) A big police car, green or blue i can’t remember because suddenly i was seeing everything in the color BLACK... everything was dark inside the car, everything but a ray of light coming from the high windows of the car.. the time went by and the car didn’t move, and when it started to move, i asked about the time, i knew that i stayed in this dark car for 6 hours!! it was more like kidnapping, we didn’t know where we were going, no mobile phones, and any questions were forbidden!! we reached a camp, it was a big camp.. within an empty land, there was no life at all as far as your eyes can see.
inside the camp they lead us to a lot of big chambers, and every chamber had only a lot of lockers on their walls, nothing but the lockers on the high walls...no beds or even sheets!! so we spent our night sleeping on the cold floor, we woke up on voices threatening us, and letting us know who’s gonna leave and how’s gonna stay. they brought us dinner, white rice and beans, without spoons!! and at night they brought us the supper, eggs and bread, (kind people) :)) and again the time went by with nothing happening...and finally they started the investigations. National security officers wearing black leather jackets started to ask questions to every one of us, “to which party you belong?” “from whom you take your orders?” “are you belong to the Ekhoan?” ...etc A lot and a lot of such questions till the nightmare was finally over and i went back to home!! and now i’m praying to god and ask him to bless my country Egypt and to end the nightmare the Egyptians have right now.. Egyptian citizen.
Ahmed Soliman The printer talking. sometimes , when I lie at home thinking and feeling unhappy , I remember the beautiful daffodils which I saw that day , and then my heart fills with happiness and peace By searching within what I’ve learned in my childhood books and of literary texts. Am I stupid or what had been taught me is not useful?

‘Tomorrow ‘- discussing the art scene after the revolution: Inspired by “Egypt in colors”, I was provoked to produce a metaphorical artistic installation to highlight the journey of these young artists. The artists visit local sites, choose a wall and place outlines of simple shapes that duplicate creating artistic guidelines for the locals to fill in with colors. The joy they spread in doing this was symbolized by a ray of a simple unit (square) that reflects around the space to illuminate a greater zone with the colorful hue of the rainbow colors. Worthy of mentioning, This installation was created through a group effort in a timeframe of two days to mimic the same time it took the artists to finish their artwork.
