The enchanted flute

The shadow is sweet, and my master sleeps Coiffed in a conical silk bonnet, With his long yellow nose in his white beard.

An air by turns languorous or frivolous That my dear lover plays, And when I approach the window, It seems to me that each note flies From the flute to my cheek Like a mysterious kiss.
