Plymouth Yacht Haven A Five Gold Anchor Marina lying in the shelter of Clovelly Bay, just minutes from the open water of Plymouth Sound
Geoffrey Farmiloe, Berth Holder at Plymouth Yacht Haven
We’re also a stone’s throw from one of England’s finest natural harbours, Plymouth Sound. From here, you can choose between a day’s sailing to Salcombe, Fowey, Torbay, Dartmouth or Falmouth. Or on to the Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands and the north and west coasts of France. In rough weather, Plymouth Sound and local rivers allow for hours of sheltered scenic sailing. So there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
We’re proud to be thought of as Plymouth’s Boating Hub because as well as our fully serviced marina and boatyard, visitors, berth holders and businesses can take advantage of our dry stack, commercial marine business park and our business units and storage. Please don’t forget to take advantage of our many onsite services during your visit, including The Bridge Bar and Restaurant. We’re looking forward to welcoming you, your family and your crew to Plymouth this year! Steve Kitchen Director

“We want to congratulate you on the excellent service offered by YHQ, where nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff, whether it be the yard staff, reception or management. Recently, we made use of the marina at Plymouth Yacht Haven and found exactly the same “can do” attitude there. We feel that you all deserve our praise.”

About the Dry Stack What exactly is it? It’s an alternative to traditional marina berthing. Your boat is stored indoors on our custom racking system, and we’re available 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to launch your boat for you whenever you want to use it. We’re delighted to offer an exceptional one-stop service with everything you need for your boat available on-site.
“The Dry Stack process runs seamlessly. I’m amazed and delighted at how smoothly the marina operates” Philip Jones, Berth Holder
How do I launch my boat? Simply call ahead and we will launch your vessel for you and have her ready and waiting for your arrival. The whole process takes just minutes.
What if I want to work on my boat or flush the engine? Simply call ahead as per a normal launch and we’ll place the boat on a “tinkering rack” outdoors, with access to water and electricity.
What vessels do you store? We currently handle Motor Cruisers, Sportsboats, RIBs and Fast Fishers from 13’ up to 36’ in length.
I’d like to stay on board my boat overnight. 14 nights berthing are included absolutely free at Plymouth Yacht Haven, just a couple of minutes downstream. Simply ask at the office to book your berth.
What if I want to return to the marina after working hours? No problem. You can leave your boat on one of our waiting pontoons, and we’ll lift it out in the morning, pressure wash the hull, and pop it back in the dry stack.
Can I come and see for myself? Please feel free to come and visit us, either by road or by sea. We’ll show you around and answer any questions you might have.
There’s lots more helpful details on our website. Call us on 01752 481190 for more information. Or, if you’d like to talk in person, please visit us at the office and we’ll be delighted to chat with you.

YOUR LOCAL COMPREHENSIVE MARINE CENTRE FOR ALL YOUR BOATING NEEDS
Perfectly placed just a stone’s throw from one of England’s finest natural harbours, Plymouth Sound, whatever the weather or wind direction, you’ll find plenty of peaceful and well-protected anchorages within easy reach of Plymouth Yacht Haven and the Dry Stack. You can stay local and explore the Rivers Plym, Tamar, Yealm and Lynher. Enjoy a day’s sail to Looe, Salcombe, Fowey, Torbay, Dartmouth or Falmouth. Or head further afield to the Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands and the north and west coasts of France. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.
“Having stayed at other marinas in the South West, this is by far our family’s favourite. When we arrived all staff were extremely helpful. We used our boat nearly everyday of our holiday, there are so many places to visit by boat.” Sasym, TripAdvisor Review

Cellar Bay, River Yealm – 6nm This secluded beach is away from the beaten track for landlubbers, which makes it paradise for us sea-goers! There’s plenty of space to anchor off the beach and a few caves to explore once you’re ashore. The Ship Inn in Noss Mayo is a mile walk away, or just anchor up and enjoy the scenery! A really good spot in an easterly breeze.
Polkerris, St Austell Bay – 26nm At high tide, you can tie up at the old harbour wall on this secluded beach where you’ll find a great pub and café on the shoreside. Alternatively, you can anchor just offshore. Join the SW Coast Path and walk up to Gribbin Head to see the famous red and white tower, known locally as “The Stack,” marking the entrance to Fowey Harbour. Alternatively, stay on the beach and hire a SUP to enjoy the calm waters. Dittisham, River Dart – 40nm Venture beyond the main towns of Dartmouth and Kingswear on the River Dart, heading north past Agatha Christie’s house. The cruise beyond the busy towns becomes peaceful with tall woods lining both sides of the river. At Dittisham, it suddenly opens up into a large bay where you’ll find a brilliant pub (The Ferry Boat Inn) and plenty of visitor moorings.
River Fal – 41nm Where to start when talking about the Fal and Carrick Roads? On one side of the river, the busy and historical town of Falmouth with Pendennis Castle, a bustling high street, old quays and the maritime museum. On the other, the stunning St Mawes village with the infamous Castle and St Anthony’s Head. Heading further upstream, you’ll find large ships laid up, Pandora’s Inn pub on the edge of Restronguet Creek, beautiful winding inlets and coves, and plenty of wildlife. What’s not to love?
