USE AFFORDABLE shelves and drawers. Write on the boxes what they contain so you won’t have to go through the entire storage unit to find something. Also draw up a list of the contents of your boxes.

One-year rule

SET UP A BOX or reserve a shelf for things you no longer need but that you don’t yet want to give up. Make a deal with yourself: if you haven’t used something in a year, put it in recycling and let it find a new home elsewhere.

Clean with a clock

STORAGE UNITS tend to get messy over time. If cleaning up the entire unit seems too much, set an alarm clock to ring after 20 minutes. When it rings, you may be surprised by how much you have already done. Before/after photos will give you extra motivation.

How to participate in tenant events?

THIS YEAR, our tenant activities are celebrating a year of culture, so we have museum tours, summer theatre and many other interesting events in store for you.

You can find all of our tenant events at m2kodit.fi/en/ for-the-tenant. Remember to sign up for your local events!

Take seasons into account

PUT THE ITEMS you need most often near the door. For example, if you tend to camp all year round, keep your backpack and camp stove in an accessible place. Change item locations according to seasons.

Check the regulations

CHECK FROM the property’s regulations to see what you may put in the storage unit. For example, combustible materials, such as gas bottles, don’t belong there. They can explode and cause hazardous combustion fumes.
