SYNOPSIS
1. THE ESCAPE ROOM Adrian, born and raised in an aristocratic family during the French Renaissance, believes he has everything he needs and is convinced that there is nothing in life that will ever interest him. Until one day, he receives a package from the distant future, a spectacular technology that will allow him to become someone he’s not; he gets to experience the thrill of the less fortunate, and it will entice him forever.
2. STEALING MY THUNDER A retelling of Medusa’s rise and fall, by reinterpreting the Greek Gods and Goddesses as popular social media influencers. It turns the conflict between Athena and Medusa into something akin to ‘Youtube Drama’, and showcases what it’s like to be popular: lack of privacy, fake friendships, expectation of the mass. This eventually overwhelms Athena to a point where she bequeaths Medusa with eternal tragedy.
3. SIMONE SAYS Living in the sci-fi world of a motherboard on a phone, 247, an electron goes on with his ordinary life. What seems to be an ordinary day, becomes not so ordinary, when his brain Simone, realizes that 247 has forgotten to take his emotion depressants. Eventually the heart begins to dethrone Simone and assume control over 247. Emotion vanquishes logic, and chaos ensues.
4. DOG DAYS ARE OVER Oreo, a poodle, hates Felix her current owner. She feels like she doesn’t connect with him as well as she did with Charlotte, her former owner. Through a toy that Charlotte has left her before she moved, it always reminded Oreo of the memories between them, and this love story between dog and owner, as beautiful as it is traumatic to her, constantly loops within her. She buries herself in this perfect past.

A German soldier during World War 1 is laying in the trenches near Verdun. He cannot empathize with his friends, whom all seem to have a thirst for blood and an unhealthy passion to die for their country by charging recklessly into No Man’s Land. Under absolute necessity, this German soldier too runs into battle; and the next second, wakes up in the bed of a French woman with a sacred heart. And what she is about to say will pave the way from his own doubts.

DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY Chun To Yeung recently graduated from University of Birmingham in Drama

and Theatre Arts, with an Excellent First Class grade for his Practical Project in Drama: ‘ASIAN vs. AS.I.AM’ (2019), looking at the institutional racism of Asian representation in Western culture. He is the founder, president and artistic director of XTRAMENTAL, and has been creating work with them for three years: productions include: ‘Hello To My Hollow Heart’ (2017), ‘How I Cracked Singing’ (2018), ‘Mind, and Hours’ (2018), and just this summer, a musical about DSE called ‘Chasing Stars’ (2019). In the past, he has worked with LYNNEBEC to create two devised, physical theatre pieces, ‘Deep Fake’ in Lapworth Museum of Geology and ‘Animals/Us’ in Barber Institute of Fine Arts. He is the founder of Triple-Take Curations, and has recently curated ‘The New Archaics’ at Selly Manor. He worked with the Live Art Society to create ‘Questioning Grenfell’, a political installation piece. He had undergone training from Musical Trio on physical theatre looking particularly at Rudolf Laban led by Gigi Yiu. Chun To also has an extensive musical theatre background, receiving education from Yip’s Children’s Musical Theatre group, Guild Musical Theatre Group, London’s Musical Theatre Masterclass led by Michael Xavier, and The Actor Family’s Acting Through Song Workshop led by Edwin Wan. In University, he is also the musical director of his Acapella group: One Note Stand. These training and past performances have cumulatively led Chun To into creating ’32 Seconds of Ecstasy’.

PRODUCER’S NOTE Try this, take a deep breath and ask yourself: are you happy? I am sure not a lot of people can nod without hesitating.
What makes you happy? Buying a brand-new car? Owning jewellery? Getting praised by your boss? Getting high marks on exams? Or hanging out with your friends? Staying with your family? For me, happiness comes after hard times.
If life come easy, if you get to do what you like everyday, see who you want to see without having to work for it, I think you won't be

happy, because that’s the way life has been for you, having everything handed to you on a golden plate. For instance, if you’re not the type of person who goes out a lot, you might find a walk in the park exhausting; but if you are an adventurer, you climb up high mountains and dive into deep canyons, all of a sudden walking in the park doesn’t seem all that bad. To truly enjoy the highs, you must first hit rock bottom.
To be happy, you must put in the effort. It's not free, it’s hard, but one can always try. No matter what age you are, no matter your occupation, the marks on your exam, your monthly salary, I think there’s a lesson to be learnt about being happy, and to understand it, you must do your homework. Happiness is everywhere, if you can’t find it, it’s not that it’s not there, you just haven’t searched hard enough. We hope you can, through the next one and a half hour, rediscover the value of happiness.
How long have you not smiled for the simple things in life? How about a balloon, or perhaps a chocolate?
You deserve to have your own time. You should sleep early tonight :)
