From the Head of School
Crossroads School has evolved significantly since our founding as a middle school in 1971, growing into the vibrant, nationally recognized K-12 institution we are today. Yet we have always stood fast to our founding principles. The Crossroads of today remains deeply committed to a progressive educational practice that prioritizes a relationship-based, experiential learning environment.
Our new strategic plan reaffirms this commitment and establishes goals to ensure our continued growth and success over the next five years. It was developed in partnership with the research and planning firm Leadership + Design, the Board of Trustees and the Strategic Plan Steering Committee, and reflects the feedback and insights of constituents from across our community.
On the following pages, you’ll learn about our goals to sustain a joyful and connected community; to deliver excellence in progressive education; and to cultivate students’ leadership capacity to flourish in a constantly changing world. You’ll also find the School’s first-ever vision and mission statements, created in tandem with the strategic plan to crystalize the promise of Crossroads School.
