michael waters

kongorong football club

Kongorong Football Club’s Michael Waters is the “Mr Cool, Calm and Collected” in the Seniors side, and never wastes the ball when in his possession.

Mick seems to be one of those players that has 'me' with the ball, never panicking.

Mick has spent a lot of his playing career in the backline, but has been known to move up to the mid and forward flank area, where he also excels.

First playing in the A's in 2011, Mick took out the A Grade Best & Fairest in 2016.

Members, players and supporters congratulate Mick on this great milestone. Well done!

in Braedo and Bruizer. His third son, Kyle, is 6 next week, so he says (tongue in cheek) if he is to play football with him, he might get to 300.

Bevo also says his football claim to fame is that he played A Grade footy at Dartmoor with Jezza Cameron.

His biggest wish has been to play in a winning Grand Final side, but has missed out on four occasions. At the end of the day he says it’s not all about winning, that’s a bonus, it’s about geng together with your mates and having a kick and a bloody good me.

From everyone at the club, we congratulate Bevo and wish him all the best today in his 200th senior game for the Murphies.

dan hann

kongorong football club

Dan 'Danger' Hann is one of the most gied players at the Kongorong Football Club, and a genuine match winner.

Over his career he has amazed his team mates, and supporters alike, with his Dusty Marn like runs, and goal kicking exploits, leaving opposing players clutching for air as they try to stop him.

Danger is loyal, brilliant and always stepping up to the plate whenever his club or team mates need him. He is truly one of a kind and we are extremely lucky he is a Hawk.

Dan started out playing senior football for Kongorong in 2011, and took out the Best and Fairest in the Reserves in 2022.

Well done Danger!

marc roberts tantanoola football club

Marc “Gunk” Roberts played his 100th senior game for the Tantanoola Football Club last Saturday

He has played all his football in the red and white starng his career well winning the Junior Colts most valuable player. 2015 was his most successful season not only individually but also as a team. He was an important part of the under 17 premiership side but also took home the Senior Colts Best and Fairest and made his A grade debut.

2016 he got another taste of premiership success in the reserves side. Since 2017 Gunk has been a regular member of the A grade side taking home the Bill James Memorial Most Courageous that season.

A player that wears his heart on his sleeve and gives 100% every me he plays, he is a much loved figure around the club. A hard nosed rover with no fear we oen see Gunk at the boom of most packs fighng and scrapping all day with his long mullet flowing in the breeze as he gets to each contest.

A great clubman where he does some of his best work at club funcons both on and off the dance floor

We wish Gunk all the best in his 100th and hope to see many more.

john simkin

kongorong football club

John 'Simmo' Simkin is without doubt one of Kongorong Football Club's most favourite sons.

For many years Simmo has delighted supporters with his freakish talents and ability to make the impossible look easy He has taken out League leading goalkicker, as well as the unique disncon of winning the A and B Grade leading goal kicker at club level, in the same season.

Simmo always had opposing coaches scratching their heads on how to contain him. He is now a great leader for our young brigade and is much loved by his team mates. Even now as he bales with a body that has been bashed and bruised by defenders, he connues to train and play at a high standard, showing his magic on a weekly basis.

The club congratulates Simmo on his 500 goals for his beloved Hawks.

robbie hein

kongorong football club

Robbie Hein played his first senior game in A Grade for the Kongorong Hawks back in 2013, and connued in the A's up unl 2019.

Robbie is one of the club's quiet achievers. Playing in the ruck as a 17 year old is not something too many would want to do, Rob not only did it, but to great affect. Going up against some of the best players in the league, the likes of Dylan Coxon and Will Macdonald, at such a young age and never backing down, Rob used this experience to make himself beer and has gone on to be a wonderful exponent of the ruck posion, and one of the most skillful big men in the region. Quiet by nature, but his football speaks volumes.

We congratulate Robbie on his 100 senior game milestone.

football club notes

What a weekend to have our first real taste of winter as we headed down to the Bay in what was always going to be tough day through all grades. But once again our great game manages to bring people and clubs together and was an honour to be able to work together with Pt MacDonnell FC as we together combined for a special Indigenous game which is something we have been working towards for several years and is something that is important to our club and driven by senior figures and legend Tim Brennan. Let’s hope over the coming years we can make this a regular occurrence in our footy fixture.

senior colts

junior colts

Junior Colts: With a couple away this week Macca had to reach out to Pt Mac in order to borrow a couple of players throughout the game. A big thank you to the coaching staff who connually swapped their players around during the game as its never an easy thing to do. The opening qtr saw the young maggies have the strong breeze at their back but unfortunately while had plenty of the play couldn’t manage to capitlise on the work up the ground whilst the 2nd qtr saw our players defend hard but the weight of numbers and size took its toll as the you bay side managed to kick away in the second. In the 2nd half Pt Mac threw a few of their beer players across and this slowed the scoring up and also provided more of the ball for the young maggies around the ground. Best players were an even spread around the ground this week with Dante, Jack, Darcy, Joe, Max and Koby all geng the awards.

Senior Colts: Tommy’s phone would have been ring hot early as a couple of last minute withdrawals but again to the Pt Mac coaching team’s credit and as they have an abundance of players were more than happy to flick players across and make a real game of it. The weight of numbers showed early but to the colts credit worked hard and baled it out over the 4 quarters to register 4 goals of our own with Coop connuing his run of goals and Connor providing plenty of drive out of the backline. Best players went to Connor who leads by example each week, Nato & Brycie once again were in everything and connue to feed the ball out while finding plenty of the nut themselves, Cody in his best game for the club kicked 1 and could have almost a couple more and our boy Blu connues

improve

B Grade: Cold condions greeted the B Grade side at Port Mac for what was a very important game for both sides

with a spot in the top 4 on the line. We were able to welcome a number of players back into the team with years of senior football experience. The first term was hecc with Port Mac unfortunately experiencing some injuries, however even with these injuries the opposion was able to restrict us to only one goal kicking with us kicking with the very strong breeze. Port Mac controlled the second quarter and were able to go into half me with a healthy lead. Thanks to the efforts of Mark Phillips & Nick Jenkins

Kalangadoo went into the 3rd quarter with some opmism and this also enabled the mid-field of Tyler Jones, Jusn Mansell and Bre Lindner to get on top which giving scoring opportunies to Chrissy Mules and Scoy Agnew. The second half was a vast improvement on the first half, and this enabled the Magpies to secure the win. We are looking forward to this week’s game when we get the opportunity to take on the best team in the compeon in Hatherleigh

A Grade: With Timmy Brennan kicking of senior proceedings with a touching smoking ceremony and captain’s exchanging Indigenous guernseys it was the seniors turn to brave the condions. From the outset both teams looked evenly matched across the ground and was always going to be who could handle the windy and soon to come wet condions the best. The 1st half was a real tough & bruising encounter which saw us a couple of key players down at the half but also up by 3 points in what was a real low scoring tough game. Having the wind in the 3rd the Maggies couldn’t capitalise on the hard work up the field and only managed the 3 points to go into the last break down by 9 points but seemingly having the scoring end against the wind in the last. Neither team wanted to give an inch in the last and we managed the only goal for the quarter but with the bay managing 7 points were able to hold us out. Watching the game you are able to see things are beginning to click as the team is looking more seled each week and a lot of posives out of a real tough game. Best players went to Haysey, Sam, Lachy, Mitch, Jusn & Shuey

Back on our home deck this week with the Grand Final rematch against the Eagles and we look forward to having “Club 27” past players day, welcoming all of our sponsors for Sponsors Day as always makes for a big day for the Football Club.

A Grade: Last week's win over Tant saw us sneak into the top 4 which is where I was hoping we would be at the halfway mark of the season. Whilst we have played some good footy in patches, we have struggled to put it together for more than a quarter at a me, which has been frustrang for me and the supporters from what I hear. Saturday was no different, with us controlling much the game in the 1st quarter but only managing 3.7. This allowed Tant to fight back in the 2nd, outscoring us and making us chase them around the oval. The 3rd quarter was our best by far, our ball use was far beer along with our forward entries, our back 6 held rock solid, not allowing them to score whilst we slammed on 8 goals. Once again, we let ourselves down in the last, allowing Tant to out score us again but sll managing to win by 50 points. Best players were again Sam Gray and Jed Telfer in the middle, Tom Hutchesson up forward who kicked 5 goals. Jase Bateman in his 200th game for the club and Ma Fabris who played a good 4 quarter game.

B Grade: We came up against Tant at home in round 7, we worked on a few different things during the week and put them into place to play some excellent and excing football. Very frustrang to watch the goal kicking at mes but the skipper informed me there was a lile cyclone in the forward pocket of the ground, definitely looked like it at mes! Brad Mitchell played a very good game on the ball to be named BOG, mini Bowie

had another great game in the middle cung Tant to pieces by foot. Brad Wight made a successful return to the field and didn't look out of place to take home third best. Pinball Pegler had a good day up forward along with the skipper to round out the best. Big test this week coming up against Kalangadoo!

Senior Colts: In a top of the table clash our boys come up short against a solid Tantanoola ouit this week. Missing some key players, it was good to see that we sll had a go and played whatever role was asked of us. Our best player for the day was Ausn Nele, who found plenty of the ball all over the ground. Zack Bowering was solid in the ruck and gave us a marking opon all day. Tyson and Jordy Atkinson played there role and accumulated a lot of the ball. While, it was also great to see Brayden Chambers return to footy and have a great game. We move on to Kalangadoo and look to get back on the winners list.

Under 11: This week we played at home and we were treated to superb football weather. We found lots of the footy right from the start. The boys and girls were kicking to advantage with plenty of marks which allowed the ball to move well into the forward line. It's good to see the team working on kicking to a player and they are geng beer at it each week. We also had some of our boys play for Tant and it was great to see them play just as hard for them as us. Mazi, Joel Chamber, Archie, Olly all did really well this week.

Gold Sponsors –Glen Johnson Bowen, Moreland Holdings, The Property Co SA and Globe Hotel. Corporate Sponsors –Holla Fresh, Iberdrola and Somerset Hotel.

Senior Colts: We travelled to Hatherleigh for a 1st vs 2nd clash. To the boys credit they started the game really well, with excellent ball movement and a selfless atude all day. Unfortunately early on in the game our skipper Ellis Cushion went down with an ankle injury, which gave a lot of guys a chance to step up and play different roles. With constant pressure being put on all day by Hatherleigh, the guys connued to play our Tantanoola brand and came away with a very good win. Best players were Ash Foulds who played his best game of footy for the year, Brad Scanlon, James Braun and Cade Kelly. Great job boys.

Reserves: Saturday saw us against a finely tuned Hatherleigh. Some smooth passages of play were unfortunately not enough and went down. Best player was Marky Bell, other bests were Jake Bromley, Nick Joy, Aaron Trowbridge and Brad Williams.

Under 11: Well this week we knew it was going to be a tough game with Hatherleigh's U11s all being quite tall for their age, nether less the fellas never gave up and kept baling hard all game. Best players were Kallan - $5 voucher, IsaiahWendy's and Jack Rowe - Fasta Pasta.

Junior Colts: We came up against another top of the ladder team again last Saturday and we had a focus on playing man on man football and being accountable. We started slow and asked our boys and girls to focus on improving each quarter and playing posive team football. We managed to slow down their scoring and kick a goal in the final quarter so we were proud that as a team we never dropped our heads or gave up. Best players where in no order Kaden, Grace, Jake, Charlie, Summer and Hunts. Massive congrats to our junior president and umpire every week Nathan Chapple on hing a hole in one on Sunday.

Seniors: Last week we were at Hatherleigh hoping to have a good compeve game and see how we would shape up against a team that we think we could come close to. We started strong just didn't take our chances and we're lucky they didn't kick straight. With the wind, we played well and got back in the game only to be down by a couple goals. Unfortunately the third saw us being lazy and allowing them to kick away with a big lead going into the last. We baled hard again in the last, winning the quarter and showing a bit of fight to finish the game. Unfortunately 1 bad quarter for us was the difference but we also took a lot away from this game. We will keep our heads high and keep working on improving each week. Best in no order Cade Kelly, Cam Saint, Jack Dawe, Braydn Reilly and Zac Walker

Welcome to Round 8 of Mid-South East footy. Last week we welcomed Nangwarry to our home deck on a cool and dark day which saw us come away with 3 wins from the 4 footy games. We also held our Life Members event, which saw many of our club legends fill the Stubby Booth during the day. We also held our first Junior Disco and this greatly supported by the community Thanks to all those who organised and supported these events. This week we travel to Tantanoola for our 7th game of the year. Hopefully our sides can connue our winning ways from last week.

We also congratulate stalwart Bevan Lipscombe who this week will play his 200th Senior game for the Glencoe Football Club. Bevo has played across our A Grade and B Grade side across the past 23 years and has been one of the few people to get the opportunity to play Senior footy with his sons. Wishing you all the best today Bevo.

Junior Colts: Last week the Junior Colts played an excellent game against a decent opposion and were able to come away with a huge win, winning 124-1. A very high scoring first quarter with a goal every 2 minutes set up an early lead at the first break. From there we connued to pile on the goals but were able to get the younger players involved in the game. We managed to have 9 different goal kickers from our 19 goals, with Tom Richards the best with 6 himself. The next 2 rounds see us face sides below us on the ladder, so hopefully we can connue some strong form heading into the halfway break. Best players were Tom Richards, Kallan Price, Hamish Gordon, Jed Sinkunas, Kade Mulraney and Sam Haase.

Senior Colts: The Senior Colts faced off against the only other side that hadn't won a game yet this season. With both sides looking for their first win our boys were very keen early on. Nangwarry were a lile short of players, so we were able to help them out by offering a few of ours to fill numbers and give everyone a go. Unfortunately, we were down at quarter me and needed to pick up our intensity and skill level. During the 2nd and 3rd

quarter is where we started to play our best footy, running together and kicking long. We ended up holding on for a 87-64 win. The boys were extremely excited to come away with the first win of the season. Best players were Daniel Ferguson (8 goals), Bailey Rothall, Digby Richards-Fennell, Luke Stubberfield, Tyler Rothall and Brodie Sco.

B Grade: The Reserves were again short on numbers with 7 Senior Colts filling in, but were hopeful of making an impact on the scoreboard. We started slowly and gave up an early lead to our opposion. We were down by 8 goals at halime, but had a much improved 2nd half kicking 4 goals to the opposions 6. Final score was 32-100. Pung 4 quarters together is the challenge at the minute for our Reserves and finding midfield rotaons for some of the veterans who are doing plenty of the work. Hopefully we can get a full side over the next 2 weeks and rest up some of the Senior Colts when they need it as they are starng get sore. Best players were Trent Hawke, Jayson Finnis, Digby Richards-Fennell, Ben Curran, Timmy Mutch and Patrick Langsmith.

A Grade: The Seniors finally got back on the winners list aer a few weeks of underperforming. A high scoring affair for both teams saw us put on an 185-95 win. We nearly played 4 full quarters for the first me all year but had a drop off is the 3rd quarter and early in the last. If we connue to do that against the beer sides, we will be beaten easily. A great first quarter set up our win and it started from some midfield dominance and some excellent rebound from our halfback line. Our forwards were over crowded for a lot of the game but managed to share the goal scoring around. The score line probably should have been bigger if we had kicked straight with at least 6 out on the full shots and 17 points to add to our tally. It was very much a team effort with all players playing a role, beer players were Zacc Cocks, Tom Edwards, Tory Weaver (7 goals), Patrick Mitchell (9 goals), Darcy Williamson and Jack Edmonds.

First a big thank you to the three boys Zac, Harry and J de for coming from Kingston last weekend to help our senior colt boys out because we were short. The boys were a real joy to watch and played with great integrity.

Following this week's game we will be holding the Nangwarry Gold Cup, so make sure to put on your best race ouit and come along for a great night. It kicks off at 8pm.

Well done to the B grade boys on their big win against Glencoe, these boys are now 2nd on the ladder The Senior Colts also showed great promise and had a real compeve game in a bale for their first win.

We would like to individually thank our several Major Sponsors for supporng the Nangwarry Netball and Football Club for season 2023. This week we acknowledge Empak and Godrik Construcons.

teams. But I can't fault our kids for playing out 4 quarters of footy and giving everything they've got ll the final siren. We played some good patches throughout the match and I do believe that when we play our best we can match good sides just need to be able to do it for 4 quarters.

B Grade: What a fantasc win today, it's the first me we have kicked a 100 points. A big welcome back to Benny D, who kicked 5 goals. We won the ball out of the middle and it made it easy for the forwards. Scoy connued his fantasc start to the season. We are now sing second on the ladder, but have two big games coming up so we need everyone to get out on the track this week. Best Scoy, Donny, Jarred, Blake, Jayden, Jordan. Goals: Benny 5, Blake 3, Josh Clayfield 2, Jordan 2, Josh M 1, Jayden 1. Go the Saints.

Junior Colts: Tough day for our boys this week against a handy Glencoe side, only having 12 kids available didnt help. We've probably had a 3 tough weeks against some good

A Grade: Glencoe with their overlap running and clean hands got the jump on us from the outset which made us play catch up football for the remainder of the day. Again we put together some very good passages of play and were able to finish the game with 14 majors on the scoreboard. Despite the final scoreline we were sll able to salvage some highlights out of the game. Congratulaons to Archer Virtanen on kicking his first senior goal of his career - a moment he will remember for ever. Secondly we would like to congratulate Jack Pudney for the honour of winning the Phil Muhovics medal. His game was typical of what this medal represents. Ironically Phil coached Jack as a junior - well done Jack. Best players for the day were Jack Pudney who worked relessly all day, Joel Virtanen who also kicked 3 goals to compliment his good game, Logan Gibbs stood up despite a bout of illness, Archer Virtanen who connues to improve each week, Brodie Parsons finishing with 2 goals for his efforts and Andy Hyland who connues to excite the crowd week in week out with another bag of 5 goals.

This week we take on Kongorong at home and we look forward to the challenge.

Two from four last week against the Burr, not ideal, but we will keep pushing to make it four from four and get some more wins on the board across all grades. A quick shout out to the Brant boys, Ryan and Kane, who donate the wood for the gate raffles each home game – and when Mt Burr’s Adam Gardiner drew his own name out, gave everyone present at the draw a bit of a laugh! Aer this week’s game at Nangwarry, we head back to the Club for the Black and Gold Ball, so get the frocks and suits out, dust off the dancing shoes, it’s sure to be a great night.

Under 11: This week we played Mount Burr and it was a perfect opportunity to focus on sportsmanship and teamwork. I take my hat off to the kids who played either a third or two thirds for Mount Burr and I’m sure they enjoyed playing against their own teammates. Both sides displayed a high level of skills which made for an excing game of football. From the GG’s aer the game to Mount Burr and their players coming in to the change rooms for fruit boxes it was great to see all kids interacng together. Awards: Intersport - Mason Lile, President’s Award - Ryder Telford, Rob & Amy Whiy AwardTed Ellis, Coach’s Award - Iziah Hunt, Club Award - Mac Brant & Jordan Collins, Donut King: Nathaniel Elletson. Junior Colts: Another great team effort last week as we came away with a good win. A special menon to May Maidment for his efforts coaching up l this point, and we wish him and Elly well as they move up towards Adelaide and start a family Mark Paech has taken over the reins and is connuing the good work set down by May. Awards for last week: Aussie Disposals Voucher - Koby Galloway, Spot-On Fishing AwardAxel Page, Janeway Plumbing AwardJacob Gordon, Sam Pearce - The Lucas Family Award, Jimmy Whiy - Paradise Pizza Award and Samuel McInnes rounding out the best players.

Senior Colts: A quite even first three quarters to the game, with us managing to keep in touch on the scoreboard up l the final break. The Burr kicked away in the last boong 5 goals to our solitary point. Re-group this week and come out firing to take on the Nangwarry boys. Awards: Mahews Petrolleum Award - Toby McKinnon, MT Wheels Award - Jack Ausn, Swallow Drive Meats - Harrison Elletson, Mick Mullan Award - Tyler

Reserves: A very special day for the Club with some fantasc milestones achieved. Robbie Hein played his 100th senior game for the club and again led the rucks in great fashion. Dan Hann played his 150th senior game and kicked a brilliant 7 goals, on top of thirty odd touches. Meanwhile, club legend John Simkin brought up his 500th goal whilst playing for Kongorong. ‘Simmo’ kicked 5 in two quarters of football and connues to show the brilliance that has delighted Hawk fans for many a year. The whole team contributed to a big win, and we were able to throw the magnets around to give most of the guys a chance to get around the ball at some stage. A big challenge awaits us against the Saints, and we look forward to tesng ourselves against a strong team this week. Dan Hann was rewarded with the Club Tea Award for a best on ground effort, Robbie Hein following closely with the Killara Food Centre Award. Paully Ellis connued his fine form to receive the Collins Court Butchers Award. Andrew Telford scored the Commercial Hotel Award and Sean Farrell the Pick Ave Bakery Voucher. Congrats also to Jacob Arthurson who put the Mug Award to good use.

Seniors: Not the result we were aer, especially when fighng back in the third quarter to retain the lead going into the break. They piled on the goals and run away with the win. More hard work on the training track and commitment to the team, if we are to turn these games around to be in our favour. Best player (albeit with a slightly more crooked nose!) Ma Cordy, taking home the Commercial Hotel Award. Luke McIntyre is seling into his role and received the Collins Court Butcher Award. Ethan Norman dominated in the ruck to earn the Club Tea Award and Fraser Brewster connues to work hard geng a Club Tea Award also. The reless efforts of Corben O’Dea were rewarded with the Killara Food Centre Award, and Will Vickery fought hard all day to get the Pick Ave Deli Award. Belated congrats also to Mick Waters, on playing his 150th A Grade game v Glencoe, a top effort by a top bloke, and a solid contributor, week in week out for the Hawks.

Good luck to all teams this week against Nangwarry

Junior Colts: Tough loss last weekend. The boys seemed up and about before the first bounce. However credit to the Kongorong boys because they came out the gates strong and knocked the wind out of our sails. Once we regained ourselves a touch we had some outstanding performances. Levi moved into the guts at halime and put on a clinic and bagged a goal. Logan was put in a consistent, strong effort all day. With one play he really showed courage and stopped a certain goal. Heads up and moving on to this week for hopefully a strong performance before the bye.

Highlights of the game for us was the performance of midfielder Brock Sandow who dominated at fullback, Jack Hateley who was our best forward, Zac Gray, Ben Ballantyne, Jacob Gregory & Kody Bowering. Welcome back to the club for Jason Mee aer a 15-20 year gap between games. Thanks also to Blake Brant, a senior colt who has been training with us and helped make sure we didn’t play short. We have a tough game this week against Robe before a couple of welcome weeks off.

B Grade: A number of injuries and a ridiculous suspension meant the club was short a lot of players yesterday. This meant that quite a few regular ‘B grade boys’ got their opportunity to play A grade and it presented opportunies to try a few things different in the reserves. Kongorong played great footy from the start of the game to the end and we were no match for them. I felt we competed well but were just outclassed.

A Grade: Last weekend saw us travel to Kongorong for another tough bale. The game was an even affair for the first half with their inaccuracy keeping us in the game early. Once we were able to get the ball moving on our terms it started to open up for us but Kongorong wouldn’t let the game go easy. Aer a tough slog it was good to come away with a good W. Best for the day were - Wil Bowering who’s run, carry and skill were on show for all 4 qtrs. Dyl Ridz who put on a masterclass in ball control and foot work, dancing his way thru traffic. Tay Allen who has an inspiring work ethic and never stops. Andy Ridz who was just as dangerous as his brother with the ball in hand and kicked 2 great goals. Jack Muhovics who works me and me again down back or on ball & Josh Wallis who really has come into his own playing up forward and is proving hard to stop when on the lead.

Well done & thank you to all who organised our Wine & Dine night!

Onto Robe @ the Burr this weekend before the Interleague break.

Go Burr.

football club notes

Junior Colts: The boys came into toady looking for a win, but it wasn’t to be. Without coach Bucko to steer the ship we were a bit all at sea! Beer players were John Hinchliffe who’s having an outstanding year as is Byron Carter, Captain Flynn Collins, Spencer Aitkins and Saxon Marn. Thanks to the 4 boys who played for Kongorong today, Carter, Nate Allen, Jimmy Collins and Harvey Moore. Good luck to the SAPSASA boys this week in Eli Jess, Spencer Aitkins, Braxton Maczkowiack – it’s a great week of footy. Go the Roosters.

4. Early in the match the Robe backline lead by Deane and Sneath connually repelled any aacks but as the game wore on they were starved of opportunies and had to dri forward to become involved. It was difficult to restrict Robes best players to six evidenced by the fact that they had 15 goal scorers and had a ten goal last quarter. Duon, Lawrie, Bryant, Dunn, Hentschke and Woodward played solid clean football connually moving the ball with method into the forward line. However no one would have quesoned had a different five been selected.

Senior Colts: Big game against Kongorong needing a win to stay in the hunt to get a top four spot. The boys rocked up absolutely raring to go. With two big ins Max Robbo and Daniel Nunan adding heaps of firing power to the squad. The boys put together another four quarter TEAM effort winning by 114 points. Max and Dan sharing 16 goals between them. Best players Max Robertson, Daniel Nunan, Nathan Gibbons, Flynn Peel and Kaiden Carter. Incenves went to (Steve's place) Dan Nunan first game back for the year kicking 9 and Charles Moore (Denton Sports Power).

A Grade: Robe came off a less than convincing win over Glencoe and had been asked by coach Brown for an improvement this week and the team responded in the best way. Aer an even first quarter in which Kongorong kicked with the wind as well as applying manic pressure on the ball carrier Robe took control and kicked 22 goals to

KALANGADOO vs HATHERLEIGH

Hatherleigh travel to Kalangadoo to face off against the undefeated Magpies in round eight. Kalangadoo’s strong goalies Ebony McDiarmid and Abbey Duncan move with ease and are able to shoot with accuracy throughout the circle, meaning that Hatherleigh defenders Maddie Redman and Elly Redden will need to work overme to limit their shoong opportunies. Eagles Erin Watson and Lara MacGregor will need to apply pressure around the circle on Magpie midcourters Chloe and Jayde Peacock to curb their impact and accurate passes into their goalies. Hatherleigh shooters Demi Vanderhorst and Maddie Pulmer will need to move well in the circle under the pressure of Lara Munro and Lauren Kain. Kalangadoo’s strength throughout the court will prove too much for the Eagles and they will come away with the win.

TANTANOOLA vs GLENCOE

Glencoe head to Tantanoola to face off in the match of the round. Glencoe’s strength in the defensive circle from Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen will put the pressure on for Tantanoola’s goalies Emma Gould and Keryl Ousey. Tantanoola’s Tayla Rowe and Kate Bromley combine well in the circle for the Tigers and will need to work overme to curb the influence of Glencoe’s Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks who shoot with accuracy and move fluently in the goal circle together. Glencoe Wing Defence Chloe Pfitzner will work hard around the circle edge and make Tantanoola’s Casey Walker earn every pass into the circle, forcing errors and chasing up turnovers. This match could go either way, but both teams will fight hard to secure the win.

NANGWARRY vs KONGORONG

Nangwarry host the Hawks in what is set to be a close game, with both teams fighng to get their first win on the board. Nangwarry’s defensive duo of Kayla Gray and Carly Ploenges will work overme to limit the movement of Kongorong’s Tilah Buckingham and Sarah Gardin. Nangwarry’s Cassie Dinnison and Hawk Rach Perry will bale hard through the midcourt with both fighng to gain possession for their respecve teams. Kongorong defenders Riley Buckingham and Emily Lightbody will use their height to their advantage to limit the opportunies at goal for Hayley Vanderhorst and Tahlia Wilson. Both teams will come out firing to get the win, and this could go either way.

MOUNT BURR vs ROBE

The Roosters head to Mount Burr this weekend to play off against the Mozzies. Mount Burr goalies Ebony Clark and Lauren Wheeler have proven me and me again that they are accurate in the circle meaning that Robe’s defenders Emma Wheal and Georgia Perkins will need to limit their opportunies to score. Robe goalies Demi Carter and Tori Gluyas combine well in the circle and shoot with accuracy, even under the pressure of Mount Burr’s Megan Thiele and Olivia Dean. Annie Regnier and Laura Schultz will fight hard through the midcourt to gain possession for their respecve teams, feeding with accuracy into their goal circles. This game will be fought with strength by both teams, and has the potenal to be close, however Robe will likely come away as victors on the day

NETball club notes

Junior 1: A cold morning made for a slow start to the game but once we got going we didn’t stop. Some fantasc passages of play through the mid court with strong leads got the ball to our goalies lots of mes. Amazing defence saw the ball bouncing back to the aack end me aer me. We need to show more determinaon to pull in the loose balls and to keep coming forward unl we have the ball in our possession. Windy condions made scoring difficult but we never gave up. Adele took home the Wendy’s award for her endless backing up and movement in the goal ring. It was fantasc to see Ashley on the court. The way she came out firing earned her the McDonald’s award.

Junior 2: Another great game with a lot of impressive footwork. I love the big shoulder passes that everyone is geng right! And the drive down court work well this week also. Best players this week was tough with everyone playing a great game, but Olivia and Alyssa came away with the goods!

13 & Under: Another solid team effort with some of the things we’ve been praccing at training happening in the match. Welcome back to Ashley! Great to see you back on the court this week. Molly had another great defensive game, Zara was strong aer her heavy knock and Malda and Emmity connue to combine well in goals, taking some great balls. Ava ran the court hard and Lexie, Ella and Tekani were tenacious in defence. We do need to work on slowing down at mes and making sure we are leading towards the ball. Well done girls!

15 & Under: Another solid effort today against a tough opponent. We had some different combinaons which we all adapted well too. We capitalised on the turnovers with beauful shoong by Shayden, Lucy and Kiersten. Chloe and Ava fed beaufully into the goalies. Zoe, Molly and Maya defended fantascally which caused turnovers. Chloe, Lucy, Kiersten best.

17 & Under: This week showed we sll have plenty to work on at training. There was lots of posive signs. It was pleasing to see we are pung into pracce what we are talking about in the breaks. We adapted to the

different combinaons. We had lots of defensive pressure causing turnovers. Georgia and Allara best players.

B Reserve: Fantasc effort today by every team member. It was a defenders game and the wind made it challenging for the goalies. The mid court linked well, providing many opons down the court. Emma Smith (Café Melzar) and Emily Devine (Fasta Pasta) taking out the best player awards - solid game girls. The coaching team is super proud of the B Res group. Thanks to Abbey Thompson for sing bench and supporng.

B Grade: Brilliant game today girls, our first quarter was not our best netball but we didn’t let that get to us we came out firing in the second quarter and really took it from there. This week we had new combinaons in our defensive end with Demi and Lydia who took a moment to gel but when they did they were unstoppable. Thank you so much to our two junior guns Abby Thompson and Maya Anderson, you both played amazingly and we all appreciate you filling in for us! Once again great feeding into the circle from Chels and Zoe finished off with accurate shoong from our goalies. Best players Demi Ingley (Gambier City Pharmacy) and Lydia Mules (The Ary).

A Reserve: A tough game today at windy Port Mac. We struggled from the outset to convert our turnovers to scores on the board and Pt Mac didn’t hold back. We had some good passages of play throughout with again some new combinaons. Our first and last quarters were strong but we couldn’t get on top of our polished opponents. Best this week Reanna - Intersport, JamieBFT.

A Grade: The welcome to country smoking ceremony performed by Timmy once again boosted our intensity in the first quarter where we were able to gain a strong lead through tenacious pressure led by Loz. In challenging weather condions the aack line were able to paently find Eb and Abbey who converted with ease. It was pleasing that we were able to implement some elements that we have been working on and looking forward to the challenge of fine tuning some areas. Best players went to Abbey (Globe Hotel) and Jane (BFT).

NETball club notes

Junior 2: The girls came up against a strong Tant side on the weekend and they sure gave it their all. It was good to see the girls being paent with the ball to find the best pass in most situaons. We have been geng beer at using the space each week and it's really helping our flow throughout the court. We had determinaon and chase for the loose ball all game and it really reflected in how much of the play we had. Awards: Maggie Mahews (Macca's – Mt Gambier), Emma McGrath (Beggs, Bean & Bar), Indi Haines (HLC).

Junior 1: Today we came up against some strong and tall opponents, which tested us. It was posive to see that we stood strong and worked hard! We valued the ball well, making sure that we were paent with passing opons. We are using some great prelims but need to remember to meet the ball and use our angles. Defensively everyone chased down the loose balls and stuck ght on our opponents. Hands over the ball was solid, but remember we only need to be three feet. Awards: Hazel Hamilton (Beggs, Bean & Bar), (HLC), Leyla Charloe Chambers (Macca's – Mt Gambier), Kaia Green (HLC).

13 & Under: Hatherleigh (45) def Tantanoola (27). We struggled to find momentum in the first half, however, aer some tough words at half me came out firing! Defensively we turned the game around, valuing the ball and shoong with accuracy. Its important we play four strong quarters of netball. We need to remember to work hard for every ball, that every player has their role and that it takes seven posions on court to get the job done!

Awards: Chloe David (Beggs Bean & Bar), Sienna Clarke (Macca's – Mt Gambier), Grace Andre (HLC).

15 & Under: Hatherleigh (85) def Tantanoola (18). Another top effort by all the girls today We started working more on our front cuts and drives down the court which was great to see. Our transion down the court was great we just need to remember not to rush and take that deep breath when we get a turnover. Sll a bit we need to work on especially coming up against the harder teams in the next few weeks. Awards: Leni Carruthers (HLC), Kalli Nele (Macca's – Mt Gambier), Sylvie Barlow (Corner Clip).

17 & Under: Hatherleigh (51) def by Tantanoola (73). Awards: Imogen Nowak (Daisy Sun the Label), Niah Faulkner (HLC), Deni Brown (Macca's – Mt Gambier).

B Reserve: Hatherleigh (48) def Tantanoola (35). With a couple of players out with injury as well as another couple with strapping geng them on the court, we knew it was going to be tough. The first quarter started at a fast pace, with both teams pung their bodies on the line. Missed opportunies to score were capitalised on by both teams and at the end of the first quarter Hatherleigh were up by one goal. A change brought Kalli on to WA where she immediately made an impact with her speed and drive. Eliza and Melita stood strong against a very physical Tant defence and Hatherleigh extended the lead to be up by four at half me. A strong and accurate third quarter by Melita was well supported by Fiona in defence who kept her goalie goalless. More talk and defensive pressure down the court also made the difference. We do need to work on our court placement and posion on court and have vision for the easy opon. They say the third quarter is the premiership quarter and this was certainly in our favour as we further extended our lead to hold a nine-goal advantage going into the last. Eliza shot her heart out in the final quarter, Fiona and Grace played cleanly in defence and Sarah, Sally and Nic got their hands to plenty down the court and provided opons coming out of defence and feeding into the goalies. It was a strong physical game, and it was great to see everyone stand tall. Let's connue to work on pung the things we work on at training and come out strong against K'doo. Huge thanks to Billie for primary carer, Ames for ming, Raels for scoring and Chloe Bellinger for sing bench. Awards: Melita Thwaites (K&S Fuels), Fiona Jackman (Somerset Hotel), Kalli Nele (HS&RC).

B Grade: Hatherleigh (45) def by Tant (50). Both teams started strongly, and the game was fast paced from the get-go, which resulted in a very even first quarter. Hatherleigh's mid-court aack with Nat and Jasmyne ensured plenty of opportunies were created for goalies, Eliza and Ellie, who capitalised and converted it into

goals. Ella played a strong defensive game at WD pung pressure on the opposion with Demi and Sophie supporng the effort and working hard to get the ball in the opposions goal circle. Hatherleigh were two goals up at the end of the first quarter. With no changes at the start of the second quarter the game connued on evenly from both sides. Nat made an impact in WA shung down a strong mid-court aack and Ellie and Eliza connued converng opportunies into goals which resulted in Hatherleigh being five goals up at half me. Changes at half me included Georgia taking the court at GK, Meg at WA, Hayley in GS and Demi moving out to WD. A few missed opportunies in the mid-court which Tant took advantage of led to Hatherleigh losing some ground, being only one goal up at three quarter me. The final quarter Hayley took the WD posion and held strong against a fierce mid-court aack from Tantanoola. Ellie in GA and Eliza in GS connued but Tant answered with accurate shoong and consistent pressure which led to Hatherleigh losing by five goals. A lot of changes through the second half of play proved somewhat unseling as Tant pushed for the win. Thank you to our scorer, Ali and mekeeper, Stacey. Awards: Ella Major (Somerset Hotel), Nat Chambers (K&S Fuels), Hayley Bell (HS&RC).

A Reserve: Hatherleigh (48) def Tantanoola (37). With Kerry away, as well as a few players missing, the start of the game was a bit franc but to the girls credit they just got on with the job and were up by one at quarter me. Aer we could all take a breath at quarter me the girls really took charge having a cracker second quarter giving them a good lead going into half me and they then connued to dominate the game playing some great netball. Congratulaons to Imogen Nowak who played her first full game and played an exceponal game moving nicely and working extremely well with Ali. Ali again played a solid game at GA with a very high work rate creang lots of space in aack. Georgia had a physical tussle all day but fed the goalies with precision while Shayla worked hard all down the court always being an opon. Lucy had a great game shung down opons despite feeling unwell and the ever-strong combinaon of Sarah and Millie connued to cause havoc for Tant creang many turns. We also had Niah Faulkner hit the court in the last who did an amazing job and took two turnovers at crical stages so well-done Niah. Thanks to Eliza also who started and played a solid quarter while then sing bench. Another great team game with some great netball played… well done girls! Thanks to Karen Pulmer for stepping in last minute to score and Olivia for primary caring. Awards: Imogen Nowak (Somerset Hotel), Ali McLennan (K&S Fuels), Georgia Hunter (HS&RC).

A Grade: Hatherleigh (48) def by Tantanoola (58). A solid team game today with many good learning experiences for our younger players which will only make us stronger. We had plenty of opportunies, a slow start put us under pressure from the beginning and we couldn't eliminate our errors to close the gap. Tantanoola played a very strong consistent game which we matched for the majority of the game but our decision making and trusng our structures lacked at mes in every quarter which gave Tant the edge. Mads P played a solid game for her 100th game with good movement and smart, quick passing to Demi. Dem contributed to work super hard all game with some great drives into the circle while Rosie fed the goalies with precision yet again and worked hard to get posion for every ball. Erin worked hard to be an opon all day in aack and defence combining well with Lara to come up with turnovers together. Lara worked relessly to help create turnovers before the ball got into Tants tall mbers and as always was a strong opon coming out of defence. Elly and Mads R had their work cut out for them up against two very tall goalies but when we contested the ball and worked as a defensive unit, we got hands and turns, and we got beer as the game went on. I think we can sll take away a lot of posives with some areas improving and we will connue to work hard on the aspects that let us down. Thanks to Millie and Shayla for sing bench and Sarah, Kalli, Chloe, and Olivia for helping with all the jobs! Awards: Erin Watson (K&S Fuels), Lara MacGregor (Somerset Hotel), Maddie Redman (HSRC).

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Poor girls having to brave the cold to step out on the court today. I wonder if we need the lollies to make a comeback to wake them up a lile! We were a lile slow in the first half, our passes needed some work, but we managed to get warm and the flow down the court began to come! There were some great intercepts against a taller opposion! I will see you in a couple of weeks girls, Tay will teach you a few things, take it all in! Best players this week went to Gracie, fantasc intercepts & voice on the court, great mentorship to the younger ones. Polly, your leads were strong and you chased up loose balls! Keep it up! Tiger Cubs had a game against some of the Lile Eagles and they did so well! Aer last week's internal game, it was so good to see how much they remembered! Great improvement girls

Junior 1: With 2 of our 'older players' absent it was pleasing to see several of our 'younger players' step up and perform so well. Also pleasing was some individual efforts – Nyree – going from strength to strength in her first full season of netball. Zahli –working on hand posion and taking some hard passes, also delivering good shoulder passes. Stella – concentrang on her shoulder passes and it is really paying off. Also her ght defensive work. Pippa – connuing her consistent form, parculary in defence, even though not feeling 100%. Awards went to Zahli (Shanks Engineering), Lidia (McDonalds) and Stella Perry (Wendy's).

13 & Under: Good game girls, we stuck with Hatherleigh unl half me, but our 3rd quarter let us down again. We need to work on keeping that intensity up. We are definitely improving & geng stronger the more we are playing as a team though which is great to see. Awards today went to Summer for her excellent effort & geng ps on that ball & to Renae who never gives up & gives 110% all game.

15 & Under: Today it was great to see what we pracced at training “coming forward” was put into our game. Also some players took control of the ball & more thought was put into our passing which was great to see. With everyone coming towards the ball rather than running away creang a bit of crowding at mes but this is something we can work on at training. Denton's Sportspower award went to Bethan who today put all those things we have pracced at training & more on court. Fakes, roles, intercepons,

ball chase, leading forward & direcng play. Wendys award went to Lani who was always there for her team making some brilliant leads & front cuts. Her voice was great & she posioned well on ring. Alexis got the McDonalds voucher for listening well & pung these things on court.

B Reserve: We need to concentrate on our game and focus pung into play things we have pracced! Maybe let's have a dedicated warm up and listen to your captain, these games are winnable so let's start showing we can do this. Awards: Denton's Sportspower - Chole Taylor, McCourts - Amy Mason.

B Grade: A nail biter game to watch on the weekend aer starng off flat against a strong Hatherleigh side. The girls fought hard throughout the game being down by just 5 goals coming into the last quarter, the girls pulled out all the stops having a ripper last quarter coming away with a 5 goal win. Best on went to Danni Rutkowski who kept the team in the game on mulple occasions with her strong defence in the ring, down the other end runner up Ash Fensom shot with pure accuracy to help the team get over the line. Both girls receiving Tant meal vouchers.

A Reserve: A relavely even first quarter between the teams however Hatherleigh had a 1 goal lead at the break. The second quarter seen a few unforced errors on the Tigers behalf and this allowed the Eagles to gain a bigger lead at the main break. In the third quarter Tigers made some changes are were able to sele a lile more and work on our game. Some great turnovers from the defensive end created numerous opportunies for our goalies. The fourth quarter was again nearly another even one, but the final whistle saw the Tigers go down by 11. Plenty of room to work with and connue with our game of netball. Best Lucy - Since Fiy Six and KrystalSince Fiy Six.

A Grade: Great start to the game with Keryl (Denton Sportspower) shoong at any range and at close to 90% accuracy. It's great to see the way her, Emma, Jami and Kate are moving the ball and showing paence when needed. Casey provided a strong drive out of defence, while Tayla (Somerset) and Kate rebounded strongly and took some mely intercepts. The work on the “lile things” are starng to pay dividends. Our second half wasn't as impressive as our first with a few turnovers of our doing, something that we can connue to work on.

Jaylee was best player (Metalworx) with some amazing intercepts and paradise pizza award went Charloe who did a great job with her leading.

13 & Under: A great team game today girls! You all worked well together in the first half to gain a substanal lead and this allowed everyone to try a new posion in the second half. Let's come out firing again this week.

15 & Under: Good game today girls. We had some really good passages of play all over the court. Shooters really stepped up their shoong this week, taking shots with confidence and accuracy. Mid court controlled the ball beer and had a cleaner transion than previous weeks. Defence had a different style of shooter play against them than what they're used to and slowly adapted their lile feet to get around. First best (Maloney Plumbing) went to Chloe Childs who rolled out in the circle to create space instead of following the ball, while also finding her voice to direct play. Second best went to Shae Tweddle who ran hard all game constantly trying to create turnovers and also play the mature roll in direcng play. Some lile things to work on at training but a good team game today girls.

17 & Under: Awesome win girls! Be very proud of how you all played. Alyssa & Montana had great movement in the circle. Great passing & driving from Lara, Zoe & Jena. 2nd best – Lara for her awesome passing & driving down the court.

B Reserve: An awesome team effort today! Our game was great to watch, moving the ball down the court, mostly smoothly, with smiles on our faces. I am proud to see the improvement from our first game and the confidence that has been gained as we sele into our posions. Alarna ran hard at centre and adjusted well when taking a turn back in defence. Jacinta came on and helped create many opportunies to score. Ryleigh got hands to many balls and backed up her teammates well. Mikayla had an impressive game at WA, being a reliable opon and passing cleanly into the circle. Jorja and Jas proved once again that they're a great combinaon in defence with many deflecons, intercepts and rebounds. Karli and Lydia moved well in the circle together and took some impressive shots. Best players were Mik (Key2Sale), Alarna and Jas. Great win girls, congrats!

B Grade: 70-21. Good game today girls. Was good to be able to try out some different posions. Our first half worked really well, the second half we looked a lile red but all game our defensive pressure down the court was great yet again creang many turnovers. We just need to slow down and look aer it a bit beer somemes. Our best players went to Amy (24/7 Car and Dog Wash) and Hayley geng hands to many balls and bringing it down the court well.

A Reserve: Well done girls! Great game from everyone today. Great passages of play all the way down the court. We implemented the things we worked on at training which was great to see. Fantasc 4 quarters from Laura at WA (1st Best – B&P Travel and Cruise) – controlled passing into the goalies and great drive out on all centre passes. Good adapng to the new combos and pace of the game as well. Great defensive pressure from Sammy (2nd Best) both in GD and WD – your handy lile touches and reading of the ball gave us so many opportunies. Well done to Max and Abbie in goals who kept going and going all day – your movement connued to improve throughout the game. Great job everyone! Let's connue this form going into next week.

A Grade: Glencoe 76 d Nangwarry 11. A good win to get under our belts. Our defensive pressure was really high all game and allowed our aack to have plenty of supply. Great to see everyone get their hands to some intercept ball. Our intensity wavered throughout the game which resulted in some back and forth netball. A big congratulaons to Zoe (O'Brien Electrical) for making her A Grade debut. Zoe had a fantasc game contesng ball on the centre pass and driving strongly out of defence (parcularly in the second half once your nerves were gone!) We can't wait to see you play many more A Grade games! Let's get to work at training to sharpen up our skills and come out firing next week. Big thanks to Sammy and Laura for sing bench.

B Reserve: Well done girls, the first half of the game saw more posives, and a beer game of netball being played. Through all 4 quarters we need to remember to keep pushing and giving our all but keeping it how we want to play our game. Maddy and Chloe you found your spark playing together in that defence role you both talked and guided each other. Kate and Davina worked well down in that defence keeping the pressure on Well done to all girls, each week there are more posives being shown through our games, best player Maddy Glynn you worked so well in GK all game.

B Grade: Aer a slow start girls we seled in and worked on many of the things we pracced at training. Krissy took a number of intercepts as she worked hard in defence. Giorja played a great game at GD for the first me, she surprised herself by rebounding well and driving hard out of defence. Zoe played a great game at GS holding in the circle and combined well with Shandeen. Montana was able to pass into Zoe and opened the game up with driving in and out of aack and defence. Let's connue to train hard and implement what we learn into the game and hopefully we will reap the rewards soon.

A Reserve: A big thank you to Hayley and Cassie for playing a half each at GS. Jamie was able to combine well with both of you and worked hard in the circle, she found her eye early on and gained the confidence to shot anywhere within the circle. Tamara and Teresa fed well into the goalies, and were able to move the ball around the aack waing for the perfect pass. Lyndal and Bri worked relessly in defence both were able to rebound and drive the ball out of the defence, Jenna was pivotal in the centre third driving and re offering when needed. Girls do not be to dis heartened we played well in patches and managed to get within 8 goals at one stage, if we connue to be paent, play our own game we will pull together 4 great quarters.

A Grade: Another tough game but we went out and gave it all. Small errors let us down in passing and just passing to a name not looking first. 13 & Under: Bad luck today girls. Leading behind and crowding lost us the game, but I was very impressed with the way you lied in the second half. You really are improving each week and I am so proud of the way you keep your heads up and always try and finish strong. It's been a pleasure to coach you this season and I look forward to seeing your progress from afar! Awards today went to Meeka (Fasta Pasta) and Zayley (Zambreros).

15 & Under: Solid effort today girls, didn't come away with the score we wanted but always next week. Couple of good plays in the first quarter in our shoong end! Few changes throughout the game, sll have room to improve with who works well where. Congratulaons to our quiet achiever Ruby Carrigan with her 50 games today! Also coming away with the Badenoch's award. And Lily Foster with the Zambreros award. Score 17-52.

17 & Under: Bad luck today girls, we knew we were going to have a tough game and Mount Burr certainly showed what they're capable of. In saying that we lost the ball due to our own errors, parcularly just weak passing and lacking under fague. Our intensity did match there's throughout the match but they beat us in fitness. We know what to expect against these top three teams though now and so hopefully we can step up to the contest and get the win next me. Best players Evie Sealey - Birdy Blue, Kyla Gordon - Lima and Co.

B Reserve: A much beer game against Mt Burr girls. You played more as a team and worked well in each area of the court. Defence was strong with Amie & Izzy backed up by Lea in WD Tamika & Amber shot beer this week and passed well between themselves and the players on the circle. B Grade: What a lot of posives to talk about today! From a strong and relentless defence (over 8 held balls) to a fluid and controlled aack –the enre team pulled together for our first win for the season – a what a win. Jess and Chloe's accuracy in the goal ring (from anywhere) was the stuff of legends with Jess shoong 12 in the final quarter alone! The mid-court girls led, fed and kept their cool with many intercepts to be had. I could sing the praises of each girl on court today and the win allowed the girls to show what they were made of! Congrats girl! That was a cracker! Congrats to Milla on her 100 games and best players were Jas (Birdie Blue) and Jess (One Forty One). Go Hawks!

Junior 2: Even though I wasn't there to watch you girls play, I have heard nothing but posive things about how you all showed great teamwork and leadership. Your calling for the ball was excellent and showed what a great lile team you are. I am really proud of how you are all working together as one, it's awesome to see! We really need to focus on coming towards the ball and passing to the person in front. Thank you to Cathie-Anne for stepping up and taking the coaching role this week. You did a fantasc job and the girls had a great me.

Junior 1: Well done girls on a great team game last weekend. It was great to see so many combinaons working well together. We had some great passages of transion and our defensive pressure all over the court was great! The award this week went to Mia (Wendy's) for her great defensive efforts. Thank you to Olivia for umpiring.

13 & Under: Well done girls, a great win. Great shoong and rebounding from Emily, Sophie and Courtney. The movement was beer this week and passing within the circle is improving. Great defence from Isabelle and Hope working well together and turning many balls over. Jessica on the wing made it hard for their WA, and took some mely intercepons. Alice was strong at coming out for our centre passing and driving down the court creang space. Hannah played on the wings either end and did a great job geng in front and strong passing into the circle. Thanks to Jay for scoring and Zoe for umpiring. Awards: Hannah –Zambrero and Courtney – Millicent Florist.

15 & Under: Well done girls a very good improvement from last week! We were able to apply what we've been praccing and praccing at training. There were a few lile mistakes that were made but we were able to turn those around, keep our heads up and score from those! We all went out with a posive atude and it's amazing what that can do alone! Good luck for next Saturday against Robe girls! Best players went to Holly (Muffin Break) for her connuous efforts in goals and shoong with a lot of accuracy! Callie (Cafe Melzar) for being able to see both and get a lot of intercepts that we were able to score from. Well done. Thank you Stacey for umpiring and Monique for scoring.

17 & Under: Another great game today girls! We were able to extend our lead each quarter under very windy and cold condions. We had a quiet first half, but were able to work together and keep ahead. Our energy and voice lied in the second half, and our want for the ball allowed us to force many turnovers and create many scoring opportunies. Jas and Ashlee shot accurately, with Olivia, Ella and Jemma pung pressure all the way down through the mid court. This

allowed us to force errors in our defensive end, with Makaylah, Macy, Tilly and Abbey being able to cause many turnovers. Awards went to EllaDucky's, Olivia - Since Fiy Six. Thanks Madi for umpiring and Nicole for scoring.

B Reserve: Well done girls for working together as a team, and keeping your heads up. The support and respect you have for each other, see you come away with win, with or without me on the sidelines. A massive hanks to Zoe and Simone for stepping up and helping me and supporng you girls. Thanks to Nathan (Zali's Dad) for scoring and Caitlyn for umpiring. On a personal note, thank you to everyone for their support from my Burr family and also from outside our club. I certainly felt the love from everyone.

B Grade: Bad luck girls, aer an unseled week in our team it would of been nice to turn that around with a win! unfortunately Kongorong we're looking for their first win of the season and definitely fought hard. We are sll struggling to create space when moving the ball down court which resulted in a lot of held ball calls. Our defence in the goal circle is working great and I can see Stacy and Charloe really working hard to talk to each other and being team players, Breanna stepped up to take on the centre role which was great to see! We need to remember that when we're in possession of the ball we are all aackers and when we don't have possession we then all become defenders! Thanks to Tilly for scoring and Dawn for umpiring and Maddie for being my team manager

A Reserve: Well done girls, fighng hard to come away with the win. What a great team game. It was great to see everyone pung pressure on the ball all over the court creang many turnovers. Once again our defence working reless geng many intercepts. Our drive down the court is improving each week. Great shoong by Maddi and our movement in the circle and working together in the aack line is looking solid. Thanks to Sam for scoring and Kelly for umpiring. Awards: Laura and Vicki Hair – Maddi Gamble, K and S Fuels – Heidi Guye.

A Grade: This week’s game seen us back on the winners board! Our strong start in the first quarter had set the tone for the rest of the game and a steady lead to start. Our outstanding defensive work from Megan and Olivia le Kongorong having work extra hard to gain any aempt at geng the ball into the goal circle. The endless effort from Laura and Ella created a steady flow through the mid court and also feeding our goalies, Ebony and Lauren with precision passing. At half me we had extended out our lead and welcomed Caitlyn and Ashlee onto the court. Ashley found her groove in the goal circle and worked well with both Ebony and Lauren for the last half Caitlyn's defensive pressure didn't go unnoced both down court and in the goal circle. Well done on the win girls! Again thanks to all umpires, scorers and mers for the day

A Grade: Robe 69 d Kongorong 32. Great team game today girls! A consistent four quarters of netball. We played our game and backed each other up all over the court. Halle had a boomer at WD and got her hands to heaps of balls and put plenty of pressure on all over the court – coming away with Calcua (Woodsoak Wines). Georgia tried hard all game and adjusted on a tall opponent and read the ball well, geng herself plenty of intercepts – winning herself incenve.

A Reserve: Robe 55 d Kongorong 23. Great effort from the A Reserves today. Kim and Kez shut down the goalies in the circle, keeping on their toes to get the turnovers we needed. The team is building every game, showing in our weekly results. Keep up the great work Roosters! The Woodsoak Wines Calcua – Kimberley Ausn. Incenve – Stacey Woodward.

B Grade: Robe 41 d Kongorong 18. Another great win from the B Grade team. Aack had a difficult game today from both tough opposion and extreme weather condions. 12. Coming off a win last week, we knew we had to go in to today with the want and drive to win and that we did. Passes were precise and the play moved smoothly down the court. A change at 3 quarter me could've sent the game either way but luckily it worked and the girls held a solid lead. The Woodsoak Wines Calcua went to Tamara this week for 4 solid quarters in centre. My incenve went to Cassie who went between WA and WD effortlessly

17 & Under: Robe 37 lt Kongorong 49. Many silly mistakes took part in our game, stepping, silly passes, got giving the ball to first opon. Many changes were made this game and discovered Georgie is a great asset in defence with her fast feet this earned her the Millicent Sportspower best player but she also had a great day in goals. Charlie received the Union Café

incenve for her loudmouth on court and to connue to drive onto the ball instead of the stop start she is used to, which is exactly what I asked for from her. Everyone had a great game, and anyone could have received best player. A massive thank you to Olivia Birchall for sing bench and fer having a cracking quarter in defence with her sister

15 & Under: Robe 14 lt Kongorong 23. We had an unseled start to the game, with many wayward passes, but aer a few posional changes we seled and played some beer netball in the second half. It was great to see the determinaon in our defence line, with Olivia Cheung taking on board advice and playing a solid game. Well baled Olivia Birchall against a very tall opponent, you fought it out unl the end. We will keep focusing on accurate passing and posive talk on court and I know the rewards will come. We will work on footwork and be ready for next me we play hoping to get the win. Union Café best player went to Lacey Brooks for her reless effort in C and Robe Seafood & Takeaway incenve went to Livia Jess for a wonderful game in WA.

Junior 1: What a great game today! Each week we work on geng in front and pung a name on our passes. Today that started to pay off. Most games were searching for players to help us out but this week we had 9 players. The girls happily rotated the bench and cheered on their team mates. Kendall came back this week aer a broken arm and got the SE Excavaons coaches award for a full consistent game in centre.

Junior 2: What a great game!! Everyone played really well and tried really hard! Some great passages of play and we got another goal – well done Halle! ROUND 7 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW

Glencoe 76 def Nangwarry 11

A depleted Nangwarry ouit had the tough task of facing the reigning premiers at Glencoe. Nangwarry took the first centre pass and were met with a wall of maroon defence, which the Saints were unable to penetrate through.

Glencoe connued this high-pressure defence and were able to convert in their aack line, scoring the first six goals of the game before Nangwarry got off the mark. The leaders for their respecve sides in Donna Jaeschke and Cassie Dinnison took control of their teams through the centre, with both contesng any balls in their vicinity. Some inaccurate conversion from the Murphies gave the Saints opportunies to move the ball down court due to the strong rebounding of Kayla Gray, however the Glencoe defence line connued to cause turnovers. Glencoe entered the first break leading 19 to 3.

The Murphies came out strong in the second quarter making it difficult for the Saints to find safe opons down court and forcing them into long and high opons which were snapped up by Glencoe’s Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen. Nangwarry’s defensive duo of Gray and Carly Ploenges worked overme to limit the movement of the Murphies goalers, keeping them to only 15 goals for the quarter. Glencoe led by 27 goals heading into the main break.

Nangwarry made some changes at half me; with Dinnison moving into WA, Briany Dycer entering the court at C, Teresa Stewart heading to the bench and goalies Tahlia Wilson and Hayley Vanderhorst swapping bibs. The Glencoe side remained unchanged. Glencoe’s debutant Zoe Mulraney had an intriguing bale with Dinnison in the second half, contesng on every centre pass. Jaeschke connued to take charge of the Murphies aack line and find Chantelle Cocks under the post. Gray and Ploenges connued to apply the pressure but the supply was too much to keep at bay. The Saints struggled to transion the ball down court which was reflected in their only two scoring opportunies for the quarter compared to Glencoe’s 24.

The final quarter was much of the same, with Nangwarry’s aack line working hard but unable to convert on the score board.

Mulraney and Edwards drove the ball strongly out of defence for Glencoe to connect with their aack line. The final score being Glencoe 76 defeang Nangwarry 11.

Best players - Glencoe: Zoe Mulraney, Sarah Edwards; Nangwarry: Kayla Gray, Carly Ploenges.

Hatherleigh hosted Tantanoola which was a fast pace, physical game with Tantanoola’s goalies of Emma Gould and Keryl Ousey finding their long range shoong early on, pung a lot of pressure on Hatherleigh’s defence whenever they got it in the goal circle however Hatherleigh down the other end were moving the ball fast in the goal circle and showing strong offensive rebounds with Maddie Pulmer and Demi Vanderhorst. Tantanoola were making the most of their turnovers going into the first break leading by 5.

The second quarter connued to see both teams applying intense pressure through the midcourt with Hatherleigh’s Erin Watson and Lara MacGregor working relessly and creang opportunies for Hatherleigh but with

Hatherleigh’s decision making & passing needing improvement, Tantanoola were making no mistakes again in the goal circle with Ousey shoong from everywhere to further their lead by 2 going in at half me 7 goals up.

With no changes being made from either side Hatherleigh had some work to do but Tantanoola connued to be aggressive at each ball and was always there with strong passages of play with Tayla Rowe connuing to put the pressure on against the Hatherleigh aack end. Hatherleigh’s Maddie Redman got hands to a few creang more opportunies but again the easy mistakes for Hatherleigh were making it hard for them to close the gap with Tantanoola being up by 9 going into the last.

The last quarter connued to be a very ght contest with the Hatherleigh defence unit working hard & creang many turns before it got into Tantanoola’s goal ring as Gould and Ousey made no mistakes when they had ball in hand shoong 14 from 14. Hatherleigh’s mistakes throughout the court were minimised this quarter and got a run on half way through the last pegging the score line back but a few mistakes at costly mes saw Tantanoola remain composed to edge a lile further forward adding an extra goal to the lead to come out victorious 48-58. Regardless of the score line being 10 this was a fast paced, highly contested game with Tantanoola making less errors to come out on top.

Best players - Tantanoola: Keryl Ousey, Tayla Rowe; Hatherleigh: Erin Watson, Lara MacGregor.

Kalangadoo 62 def Pt MacDonnell 33

Kalangadoo travelled to Port Mac in what was predicted to be a one sided affair. Kalangadoo hit the ground running, Jayde & Chloe Peacock moving the ball through the centre with ease and Abbey Duncan & Ebony McDiarmid finishing off with very accurate shoong for the Pies. Demons defence Alana Berkefeld & Alysha Coon tried their best - but the height of McDiarmid was troubling Coon & there were very limited rebounding opportunies. Jane Auld was also impressive at Wing Defence for the Pies, causing numerous turnovers. Kalangadoo were out to a big lead 18-5 at quarter me.

The second quarter saw Megan Hein come to the bench and promising 17 & Under Lara Wilson take the Goal Shooter bib. Wilson combined quite well with Kori Collins but a few missed aempts rebounded by Pies defenders Lara Munro & Lauren Kain, meant that Kalangadoo built on their lead - stretching out to a 21 goal lead at half me.

The third quarter saw more changes for the Bay. Hein moved to Wing Defence; Liza Mutch moved into Centre & Michelle Moore took the Wing Aack bib. Kalangadoo remained in the same posions. This quarter was more evenWilson & Collins shot well and Berkefeld got quite a few touches turning the ball over to give the Bay a few more opportunies at goal. McDiarmid at Goal Shooter for the Pies was in amazing form - shoong the majority of their goals this term. The Pies drive out of defence was also impressive, as was their pressure over the ball. Auld connued to get touches and cause havoc for the Bay midcourt. 49-22 in favour of the Pies at three quarter me.

Kalangadoo swapped Munro & Kain in defence. This quarter was probably the Bay’s best, shoong 11 & keeping the Pies to 13. Final score 62-33.

Best players Kalangadoo: Abbey Duncan, Jane Auld; Port MacDonnell: Kori Collins, Alana Berkefeld.

Round 7 at Kongorong saw the strong ouit of Mount Burr take on the young Hawks at home in tough condions. Mount Burr got off to a great start shoong the first couple of goals unanswered. Olivia Dean for Mount Burr was on from the second the first whistle blew, causing pressure and turnovers all across the court. Laura Schultz was working hard with the drive and feeding with accuracy to her goalies, Lauren Wheeler and Ebony Clark, who both got a lot of ball under the post, together knocking up 10 for the quarter in tough condions. The Hawks were looking nervous and slightly unseled in the first quarter and the Mozzies were able to capitalise well giving them a 6 goal lead heading into the first break.

The second quarter saw the defensive line-ups for both teams have a real good crack across the court. Megan Thiele for the Mozzies and Riley Buckingham for the Hawks baled hard down each end, both at mes being influenal for their respecve sides through the second term. The Hawks struggled to sele up in the second quarter, but the mid-court in Ebony Lawson, Rach Perry and Kate Wright were able to get a beer look at the ball. Buckingham and Emily Lightbody in defence for the Hawks were working overme, making the Mozzies play possession netball and work the ball around. Clark and Wheeler however turned it up another gear, where their experience showed and the Mozzies led by the paence and skill of their mid court were able to push their lead out a further 10 at half me with the murphies 22 to Kongorong 6.

The Hawks went into the third quarter with work to do, and to do so made changes all over the court to try and curb Mt Burr’s run with the ball. Lightbody’s height proved crucial as she was able to get her hands to rebounds and Buckingham lied her work rate and started to see some reward from her pressure in the first half. Down the other end of the court the Mozzies defenders were also finding their groove with Thiele and Dean finding hands all over the court and capitalising on any missed shots by the hawks. This quarter seen Wheeler the focal point for Mount Burr, as she shot 9 of her side’s 12 goals for the term as they worked the ball down the court fast and with accuracy

Both teams connued to fight hard defensively up either end to run out the game. The game saw Lightbody’s pressure progressively build and well supported by Wright down the aacking end for Kongorong whilst Thiele and Dean up the other end both didn’t ease up pace, capitalising on any errors and transioning the ball down the court to give their side a mass of scoring opportunies. Despite the young Hawks improving game and aempts to limit the damage on the scoreboard, Mount Burr were able to get a look at much more of the ball in aack which ulmately seen them run away with the game.

The final quarter saw no changes for the Bay & Hatherleigh 48 lost to Tantanoola 58 Kongorong 20 lost to Mt Burr 43 Best players - Kongorong: Kate Wright, Emily Lightbody; Mount Burr: Megan Thiele, Olivia Dean.
