Junior Colts: It was a long day at the office for our young Roosters; experiencing their first loss for the season. It was certainly a reality check. To be fair the scoreboard did not reflect their effort and compeveness. Such is the nature of our game. To their credit they did not throw the towel in, that is all that can be asked, and is a good sign for the future. The Port Mac boys were much more efficient in maintaining control of the ball, and moving it forward. Their bigger bodies definitely caused issues for us. Credit where credit is due, they we too good for us on the day. Our post game chat, clearly indicated that our boys had learnt from the experience, and are looking forward to this week's challenge of improving. To be honest each player can be proud of themselves; they never shirked an issue. I am proud of all them. Every player did their best, and that is all we can ask. Special menons: John who was inspiraonal for all 4 quarters; Flynn again leading from the front, total commitment; Brodie and Vinne for sacrificing their natural games for the beerment of the team; Daniel and Nate for compeng above their weight, they have a fearless aack at the ball and on their opponents. Incenve Awards: Union Café' - Nate Allen, Denton Sports Power - Jaxon Johns, Robe Seafood and Take Away 'Nugget Ward' - Daniel Hayes. Today is an opportunity to get back onto the winning list. It will only happen if our words become our acons. No team ever won a game by saying what they are going to do. The words of the great John Kennedy 'Just don't stand there, do something. Don't just say! Do! CockadoodoolDO!

B Grade: Travelling to Port Mac is always a challenge for a B Grade coach from Robe. With a local wedding, sickness and some other events on we managed just to scrape together a side. The help of 3 senior colts and four players who played there first game for the year was appreciated. From the first bounce it was ght out of the centre. Ollie Hagget was clean for his first game in there and Bram kept baling hard. We where going into the wind in the first and came into quarter me two points down. In the second quarter we managed to get a lile momentum and score a couple goals to lead by two at half me. (Thankfully for Port Mac’s inaccuracy). Half me’s

message was to move the ball forward quickly down the centre of the ground and for the forwards to put more pressure on the ball coming out. Especially that we had the wind against us. Thanks to Ferg and Kurray’s direcon from the backline, this was played out on the field. We managed to be one point up at three quarter me and everyone new what we had to do. It was simple, leave it all out on the field and score as many goals as we can. The team did this and did it well with Kaiden Carter scoring three goals for the day which was very impressive. Thanks to Port Mac for the well fought out game and good luck for the rest of the season. This week we have Hatherleigh at home which will be a good test for us against the reigning premiers. With some players back in I am looking forward to another good game. Go Roosters!

A Grade: Pt Mac turned the weather on for the visitors on Saturday and a large crowd was in aendance with car parking spaces around the ground difficult to find. The A Grade match turned on a spectacle for supporters of both the Roosters and the Demons as both clubs were undefeated at this early stage of the season. Robe were a bit apprehensive going into this match as the team had been hit by the football season wedding virus and players of the calibre of Wachtel, Miller and Deane were unavailable. Aer an even first quarter Pt Mac clicked into gear and a five goal to two second quarter saw them leading the roosters by eleven points at half me which in a ght low scoring game appeared to be a significant lead. However, Robe’s coach asked his players to sck to the game plan and connue to play their role which resulted in a match winning third quarter which saw Robe keep the Demons goal less while scoring four goals. The last quarter was a hardfought affair in which both teams scored goals however Robe ran out winners by 16 points. Robe’s midfield of Woodward and Lawrie provided the grunt and connually pushed the ball forward while Pet played his usual selfless role for his team ably assisted by Walker, however the difference between the teams was the performance of Brown who worked hard around the ground and contributed six goals while resng in the forward line.

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

football club notes seniors

junior colts

A Grade: Last week we welcomed back several key players and came up against an improved Kongorong. Geng a good start was imperave and we were able to do this, even though it could have been beer kicking 5.5 in the 1st quarter. The 2nd was a ght tussle, evenly scored with the ball moving up and down the oval very quickly Our ball movement from defence was good, but just our final kick forward was leng us down and making life hard for our forwards. It was pleasing to see the guys respond in the 2nd half when we kicked 8 goals in the 3rd term. Our improved ball use and forward pressure gave the likes of Paddy, Sauce Brown and Telf the opportunies they desired and they were able to convert. Kongorong came out in the last and gave me a scare as they kicked the first 3 goals but we were able to sele with a couple of our own to run out 59 point winners. It was a real team effort with everyone playing well, but menons to Eli Kneen and Dylan V down back, Jed Telfer and Jimmy Telford in the middle, and Jack Sully and Paddy Chay up forward.

B Grade: Well another cracking day of weather to kick off our second game, we talked about Kongorong during the week and knew we were up for a challenge, the game was high pressure and finals like. The game was in the balance at half me and we hit the ground running In the 3rd quarter to get it back on our terms, and be up by 4 goals at the main break to end up winning by the same margin. Todd Wao lead from the front to take out BOG, Je Faults had a great game at half forward to be named second. Shanksy connued his great start to the season. Sid Reeves took out fourth best baling in the ruck for his first club game. Chooka

Lang was solid in defence once again. Off to robe this week for another big test.

Senior Colts: The colts had a tough contest against Kongorong, in which it was pleasing to see our boys rise up to the challenge and run away winners in the last quarter. Selecng 5 best players was a difficult task as we had a lot of solid contributors on the day. Hudson Nowak had a great game at CHB, chopping the ball off and disposing the ball with great efficiency. Oliver Fitzgerald was a big target for us around the ground, finding plenty of the ball and using it cleanly. Charlie Sims and Ausn Nele provided plenty of run off half back, while Tyson Atkinson stepped up in the last quarter kicking 3 goals to ice the game. We look forward to the challenge we have this week, as we head down to take on Robe.

Junior Colts: Unlucky again last week against Kongorong, with a couple our top age ball winners out we struggled to match Kongorong’s midfield, with Kongorong geng first use out of the middle and repeat forward entries our backs were under pressure, they sll fought well and rebounded the ball out, but we just struggled to get the link up between wing and into our forward line. Thanks to the players for helping out Kongorong who were a tad short including young gun Thomas Atkinson who kicked 3 of their majors (coaches fault ha) but showed good sportsmanship. Plenty to work on for our group but I feel a few wins are only around the corner.

Under 11: This week we had a good hit out with Kongorong. The boys played really well and worked well as a team. Fred, Sam, Tyler, Colton and Archie all played great games.

Junior Colts: The boys came out firing in the first quarter. They really gave it and held their own against a bigger side. Both Jimmy and Reed had tough assignment on a bigger ruckman but won the tap consistently. The midfielders showed a lot an improvement winning majority of centre clearances. Plenty of posives to take away from a loss this week. Excited to see what these boys can do this week against Port Mac.

Senior Colts: Last weekend we took on a undermanned Kalangadoo team who give us a wake up call in the first quarter before we came away with a comfortable win in a great team effort. Best players were Cohen Montuori, Charlie Bevan, Bradlee Lawson, Kallan Bevan, Caleb Carr and Sam Hunt. Another big test awaits us this week home against Pt Mac.

B Grade: Aer a solid win against Tantanoola we knew the assignment would be tougher when we faced Kalangadoo away from home on Saturday. The team started with great energy and took it up to our opponents for about a quarter and a half. Aer that the bigger and more experienced opposion controlled the game. To our credit, despite the injuries, the boys fought the game out well and walked off the field with their heads up. Congratulaons to Will Wheaton (not the actor) for making his Mozzie debut. Best players were Je Bowering, Jacob Gregory, Dan Jankowski, Harry Corman, Brodie Robbins & Harvey Muhovics. With the umpire shortage we were really thankful that Dale Bowering could help umpire the game, this was appreciated by all of our players and supporters.

another youngster - Sam Hunt. Hunty’s made a big impact since joining the club this year as an Senior Colt and is an impressive young player, congratulaons again on your debut mate. We knew the Doo were going to be a big test for us and what a game of football is was. A lot of back and forth all day, with Kalangadoo coming out aer half me and really pung the pressure on heading into the last quarter. Some huge efforts and desperate football were what we needed to come away with a 1 point win and reclaim the Harry Bo Memorial Shield. Goal Kickers - K. Bevan 3, J. Gregory 2, W. Bowering 1, N. Muhovics 1, D. Ridley 1, J. Wallis 1. Best players - Calum Sparkes who baled all day in the ruck. Undersized and up against some bigger bodies, Spanksy was able to work all game to get us the upper hand. Kal Bevan whose last quarter was massive for us, along with his hanger on the wing! A great game and another reminder of how special this kid is. Sam Wallis who once again worked his opponent over all game and fought hard to repel each K’Doo aack. Dyl Ridley whose class and poise connuously kept the game within reach. Works all day and rarely beaten. Tay Allen again for his relentless work in the middle. Crashes in and plays with heart every single game. Knife Stanley who helped keep our backline seled and rebound when we could throughout the day. Another who played a big last quarter

Saturday saw us wear Green & Gold armbands in support of Burr Boy Zac Watson who has recently been hospitalised aer a motor bike accident. Once a Burr Boy, Always a Burr Boy. Sending all our support your way mate.

Mini Colts: Under 11's came away with another clear run and what a beauful morning! Best players thanks to McDonalds Jagger, Nixon, Dane and Jaxon. Goal Kickers Dane, Levi, Zac, Jagger, Max, Brock and Kade.

Junior Colts: Last Saturday we faced off against an undefeated and top of the table Robe in what was going to be a tough game of footy The weather gods weren’t kind to the kids as the rain started falling at the start of the game. Training on Thursday started slow and then picked up, so we talked about making sure we were ready to hit the ground running from the first bounce and to the teams credit they managed to do that. We won the ball out of the middle and struggled early to hit the scoreboard, but movement back inside opened up the goals to allow for easier scoring. This play connued throughout the day with a fantasc team display. It’s encouraging to see handballs given to runners, balls kicked to players on their own no maer who they are. Our team is starng to gel, and the level of teamwork will hopefully only improve the more we play with each other. Best players could’ve been given to anyone on the team as every player did their bit when it was their turn. Brody Pra was best player with a fantasc display across half forward and kicking 2 goals and seng up many more. Harry Carroll connued a superb run of form through the midfield and half forward racking up possessions at will. Zane Lewis led from the front again with another solid captain’s game both through the middle and at half back creang plenty of drive and dash. Cayden Byrne is playing great footy at the moment with excellent skills in the forward line seng up plenty of goals. Tyler Neale managed to get on the end of a few aer moving up forward and ended the day with 4 majors while also handing off more with some great team first play. Je Lewis ended the game with 4 goals and probably could’ve kicked a bag had he held on to some more marks. However always competed and created when the ball went to ground. Some encouragement awards were also given out to TJ Howard who had plenty of ball and great skills. Blake Lasle who had a great last quarter especially with his aack on the ball. Goal kickers: Je Lewis 4, Tyler Neale 4, Harry Carroll 2, Naite Fox 2, Brody Pra 2, Kane Gilbert 1, Blake Lasle 1.

Senior Colts: Aer some wet condions for te junior colts, the weather seemed to brighten up for our senior colt boys, ready for a cracker game between 2 top sides so far this season. We knew that Robe was going to be a very good challenge for the group and the first quarter provided an even contest where we managed to sneak in front by 2 points. The second quarter was also another arm wrestle as Robe took the lead by 4 points at half me. With the game in the balance our boys stepped up a notch and provided plenty of scoring shots, kicking 4 goals to none to take the lead by 4 straight kicks at 3 quarter me. Once again our goal kicking was inaccurate, but the posive is that we are geng the ball in there and creang chances. As we move forward we will start bcoming more accurate. In the last quarter we started well, kicking a couple of goals into the wind, before Robe started a late comeback, but fortunately we had a good enough lead and ran out 19 point winners in what was a great display of senior colt football from both sides. Our boys will take confidence from the win, but keep taking each game as it comes and connue to work hard at training. With 7 on the bench it is quite hard with rotaons but we have been trying our best to be fair and the boys atudes have been great.

Best players listed on the day were Luke Richards, Bradley Neale, Aidan Telford, Archie New, Zeb Chant & Kai Gilmore. Goal kickers were Luke Richards 3, Deegan Habner 2, Brodie Anderson 2, Riley Morgan, Jacob Spehr and Bradley Neale 1 a piece.

B Grade: Pt MacDonnell 4.9 lost to Robe 7.6. Rrrrrrr… spuer... RRRrrr… spuer. You could be confused and think that this was a car trying to start with a flat baery or maybe a problem with the spark plugs but this was the way our B grade game sounded and felt. A promising start and compeve for ten minutes, then spuer. Next quarter, ten minutes of well contested play then spuer... then a third term exactly the same and a fourth that felt like we might be spinning our wheels and in need of the RAA! Robe certainly had the goods but we kept with them and the scoreboard reflected this as we were prey much goal for goal over 3 terms. We were only 2 points down at the start of the 4th quarter, when Robe found an extra gear and booted three goals to our one and effecvely sealed our fate as our back paddock ute popped, whizzed and banged. There was a lot of effort for lile reward at the end of the day and the boys may need to li the hood and check if the carby needs a clean or if it's running on all cylinders. Whatever the problem is, its obvious that a lile more work and fine tuning needs to be done. With Baz O'Dine called up to the A's (told you!) Aaron Harding was given the chance to help the B's. Aer a shaky start he got into the groove, providing some effecve passages of play and even booted a goal, earning himself a B.O G from stand in coach Ducky O'Dine. Jai Lile managed a single goal while mulple goal scorer Mason Brown, added 2 more majors to his stats and a few more minors to his S.O.S stats too!

Welcome back Grady Hutchesson, who along with Rory Narass did most of the ruck work through the centre, both creang opportunies for our regular runners like Jack Cawthorne and Ryan Von Stanke. Bradan Tilley and Ma “Mortal” Stark slogged it out on the flanks and back lines, geng in amongst the packs and quite oen giving us the breakaway we needed to bring the ball forward. Senior colts, Alex Lamb, Jai Lile, Archie New and Bradley Neale (all stand outs like Bradley's orange boots) are sll acquing themselves with high disncon giving us the nitrous oxide boost we need as the quarters wind down and the more mature players are starng to run out of gas. The beast that is B Grade is a hard thing to muster, parcularly as the winter nip starts to hit the air, the days get shorter (like our available player list), the (training) nights colder, and one starts to wonder why they said yes to playing this year. You said yes because you wanted to play with your mates and have another go, because you love the club, because this year could be our last stand in the MSEFL, so MAKE IT COUNT! and have a red-hot go. We now have a road trip to Mount Burr so don't forget to pack the boots, the shorts and socks, your never say die atude and most importantly the Aeroguard! Go Demons!

A Grade: It was a very compeve game on the weekend. Robe are a strong side that played 4 quarters of football. It was a good test for our boys and we showed we can go with the best. We will go away and work hard on a few improvements that we can make and be beer next me we play. Colby Munro had another great game and is showing this consistency week in and week out. Our vice captain Mark Smith has also been giving his all and leading from the front. Looking forward to playing Mt Burr next weekend.

Under 11: Today our boys and girls took to the field to play Tant and what a day for football the weather was perfect and all the kids got in and had a crack. It was good to see the ball being shared around thanks to Tant for lending us a few to even up numbers, it is rewarding to see all the kids coming of the ground with smiles on their faces. Let's all get to training

this week. Best player was young Smasher Junior Colts: Absolute nail biter down Tant but our boys have come out with their 2nd win for the year. Albeit we had a slow start only managing 1 point to Tants 2 goals in the first. Some big marks and big tackles from Jack Barry and Blake Herron got the ball rolling and the boys found their groove for the next 2 quarters slong 4 majors and a few handy points and keeping Tant to 1 goal. Only being up 6 at the start of the last quarter, we needed one last big effort and the boys delivered. The whole last quarter was t for tat and we found ourselves ed with maybe a minute half le. Joshy Manninen gave us a lile late spark with a brilliant run from half back to give us one last inside 50 and chance to score. Some fantasc forward pressure by Tayte and Harvey Virtanen set up a brilliant Harvey goal and the win! Fantasc efforts all round a great team effort and we look forward to our next challenge, Kdoo at Nangwarry.

B Grade: Well what a way to start the season a draw, and a win. The first quarter we should have won the game but instead we kicked 9 points. Aer that the boys seled down and got on the scoreboard. The back line held there on well in the last quarter to get us a win. Congratulaons to the new players who played their first game for the club. Best BJ, Moore, Thomson, Hoody, Scoy, and a special menon to Noah. Goals Noah 2 Hagget 2 Clayfield 1 Thomson 1 Stewart 1 Big game against k/doo this week, see you all on the track Cheers

A Grade: As predicted the contest was hotly contested from the first bounce. We kicked against a favourable breeze in the first quarter and kept Tant within reach before taking advantage of the breeze in the second quarter to go into the main break only 2 goals down. Tant made more of their opportunies in the second half and we congratulate Jack Dawe on his first win as a senior coach. Best players Adam Todd, Jack Pudney, Dylan Podobnik, Tyler Virgo, Joel Virtanen and Josh Smith. This week we look forward to hosng Kalangadoo in the inaugural Mental Health Awareness Match supporng a very important cause and we look forward to a great turnout for the day supporng the mighty Saints.

Is there anything beer than a sunny Saturday morning, driving into the gate to be welcomed by Auldy & Boxy as Round 3 saw us back at Magpie Park and welcoming Mt Burr with the seniors playing for the Harry Bo Memorial Trophy. As drive in the gate there was an awesome site on the ground with some organised chaos and nearly 40 U11’s running around and the watchful guise of Boxy as they strut their stuff in front of plenty of families. the us make the trip to Robe in what were perfect condions for footy and saw us take on very strong and determined Robe ouits and with Boxys bigrade kicking the dew off the grass and geng the day underway. This week we welcomed another Junior Game Day Sponsor in The Roadhouse on O’Leary Rd who’s contribuon to the club is greatly appreciated.

Junior Colts: The signs have been there over the last few weeks that the young maggies were really building and with the addion of a couple of new players the signs were there early that a breakthrough win could be on the cards. The young mozzies were a few numbers short and Macca always happy to loan a couple across to make a game of it made for a very ght 1st quarter with a young but lively Alex slong through his 1st goal to register the only major for the quarter. The 2nd quarter was sll tough going with only 1 goal kicked by each side but the young maggies were working hard but not quite geng the score on the board. Half me Macca made a few changes around the ground and asked his young chargers to push hard this quarter, believe in the work and back each other in. This saw register 3 majors while keeping the Burr scoreless and seng the game up and finishing off with another 3 in the last to score confident boosng 44 point win. Was standing room only in the changerooms as the song was sung load and with plenty of smiles. Best players were a tough one for Macca but hard to go past Lachy McCann, Elodie Burr, Joe Box, Alex Lee with 4 in his 1st game, Jack Newton & Darcy Wurst.

Senior Colts: In what was always going to be a tough day out for our colts as they came up against a very well drilled and handy Mt Burr squad there were some good signs early on the the boys had come to play as they took it up to them in the 1st quarter with some hard contested football and good ball movement to score a couple of our own and hold them to only 4. The next 2 quarters saw our boys chasing and defending hard but unable to slow them up. However there were some shining lights with Blunay thrown into the ruck in the second quarter and compeng hard and the reless hard work around the ball from Brycie & Nater. The last quarter Tommy asked for the lads to take something out of the game, play with some pride and take the game on wich they did and managed to once again hold the Burr while scoring another couple

ourselves thanks to hard work and smooth movement again from Coop and Connor being on the end of plenty to register 4 the game. Best players went to Nater, Brycie, Coop and our boy Blu who for his second game is looking like a footballer already

B Grade: Classic B Grade football at the moment with a number of player changes each week due to injury, work commitments and a range of any other reasons, however with this in mind it was great to get a win against Mount Burr last weekend. We always knew that it was going to be a tough contest especially when Mount Burr have healthy player numbers and were coming into the game with winning form. Aer a really ght first quarter our on ballers of Jacob Simmonds, Nathan Reeves, Liam Hay & Tyler Jones were able to start geng first use of the ball and stoppages which enabled Bre Lindner to kick some really important goals. Just as pleasing is the work of our half backs of Gus Widdison, Tom Jerome and Adam Blom who were able to stop many Mount Burr forward entries but also provided some really great run and carry which eventually opened up the game and provided us with a really solid win. This week we head to Nangwarry to play a much improved Saints B Grade side. We look forward to the game and challenge but more importantly parcipang in the first of many games between Kalangadoo & Nangwarry with a focus on mental health awareness.

A Grade: The boys were up and about early for Weap’s 100th that has been a long me coming and with the line up while sll not 100% is starng to look a lile more seled managed to start beer than have in previous weeks with a 6 point lead at quarter me with the big targets up forward looking menacing and could be on for a big day. Second quarter we couldn’t quite get the game on our terms with the backline having to defend hard and our forwards couldn’t find enough of the ball found us down at the half by 8 points but sll wel within the game. Lynsey asked for a li in intensity during the break and the Maggies came out in the 3rd and played some of their best footy with the mids geng on top and winning the clearances and geng the ball down quickly to the forwards who were able to get their hands on it and kicking 4 goals to 1 to take a 12 point lead into the last quarter. The game was their for the taking in the last with both sides kicking more points than goals but we just couldn’t hold the Mozzies off in what was a extremely ght and tough last quarter that could have gone either way to go down by the narrowest of margins. Best players in what was a tough encounter went to Connor, Tye, Lachy, Sam Casey, Jayky and Shuey who was back for his 1st game in 12 months. A solid week on the track ahead as we look for the short trip through the pines to take on an ever-improving Nangwarry on their home deck.

The new scoreboard should be completed this week with the installaon of the signage above it. A big shout out to Thomas Foods Internaonal for their support, and the District Council of Grant, enabling us to replace the scoreboard. A great achievement, and thanks again to Dick Waters and Daniel Ashby for all their hard work in geng it up and installed. We took the trip to Hatherleigh last week and enjoyed some sunshine and great hospitality. Unfortunately, not too many wins for the Hawks, in both football and netball. Write ups and awards as follows:

Under 11: A good effort from all players today. They delivered the ball well and held their marks, which resulted in goals for us. All the hard work at training is starng to show on Saturdays. Thank you to Ryan & Jacko Bald, Tyler Richo & Peter Gordon for their assistance at Training. Awards: Intersport - Connor Gordon, Coaches Award - Zach Paech, Presidents Award: - Ted Ellis, Rob & Amy Whiy Award - Jack Maidment and Donut King - Nathaniel Elletson.

Junior Colts: A very undermanned side for us this week with a couple boys away with holidays and a bit of flu geng around. Fortunately, our older boys were in very good from start to finish to get us in the game. Thanks to the Hatherleigh boys for lending a couple players including Tommy the goal sneak helping us score a couple early goals. A good bale and we were lucky to come out victorious. Sixth best with a great game playing up from minis was Connor Gordon. Paradise Pizza Award and fih best another young bloke having his first crack in the middle Angus Maidment. Fourth best and the Janeway Plumbing Award went to Axel Page working all around the ground. Top 3 could go to any of these blokes on their day, third best for Spot-On Fishing Award was Declan Richardson. The Lucas Family Award went to Blake Telford and best with Aussie Disposals Voucher went to Ryan Lucas. Another good effort from the boys hopefully to be backed up against Glencoe.

Senior Colts: A solid effort in the first three quarters, leading heading into the last, but unfortunately, we let them kick away to take the win by five goals. Plenty to work on as a

team in the coming weeks, but good signs came out of the game. Will Von Stanke was named best, followed by Shak Von Stanke with some strong marking in front of goals, Toby McKinnon, Tyler Richardson, Jobe Janeway and Harrison Elletson compleng the best players. Congrats to Jack Ausn on geng picked to play in the Seniors, well done.

Reserves: Aer a great first half, a ten-minute lapse by us and a strong burst by an experienced Eagles ouit, in the third, proved to be the difference. Whilst we aren't happy about the outcome, we understand that with hard work and some more game me with each other we should improve. Award winners were Rob Hein - Killara Food Centre, Will Von Stanke - Collins Court Butcher, Shaun Beard - Commercial Hotel, Sandy Cameron – Pick Ave Deli Award, Andrew Telford - Club Tea with Dan Hann rounding out the best players. Special shout out to all our volunteers and helpers who put in so much to allow us to get on the park each week. We all appreciate your hard work.

Seniors: Boys started out well, being around the mark for the first and second quarter. Third quarter started alright but the second half of it the boys fell into old habits allowing Hatherleigh to kick away. Coming into the fourth the boys again started well geng back to within 4 goals but then allowed Hatherleigh to finish off with a few just to widen the margin. Ma Roberts worked relessly to get the Commercial Hotel Award. Ethan Norman was solid all game to get the Killara Food Centre Award. Brandon Kranz always puts in 110% and took home the Collins Court Butcher Award. Jacka Ryan, with his bag of goals, received a Club Tea Award. Ma Cordy's consistent effort gaining him the Club Tea Award and the Pick Ave Deli Award went to Bryn Weaver

A good effort by the players and commiee at the woodchop on Sunday. Loads of bluegum available, please contact Jacqui if you need a load.

Shuffle Night at the Club aer playing Glencoe, always a fun night, so make sure you stay around and support the netball and football clubs, bus will run into town for drop-offs.

Welcome to Round 4 of Mid SE Football. Last weekend saw us have the bye aer 2 rounds of football and netball. Some interesng results so far for us aer 2 hit outs, let's hope this next stretch of games brings forth some wins and consistency across all games. As always thanks to our Major Sponsor this year Midwinter Mechanical and our weekly game day sponsors. Also, thanks to our game day volunteers for last rounds first home game of the year who helped us get through a busy first game. More hands make light work, so if you are not busy on game day please shout out and lend a helping hand.

Junior Colts: The Junior Colts had their first win of the year and played some terrific footy to beat an always good side in Hatherleigh. Final scores were 43 to 9. They played fast paced footy and managed to stall any aacks the opposion made throughout the game. Hopefully, they can connue this form into this weekend's game against the reigning premiers. Tom Richards was the pick of the goal kickers with 3. Best players were Bailey Dale, Sam Haase, Kallan Price, Jed Sinkunas, Les Jaggar and Jack McGrath.

Senior Colts: The Senior Colts were always going to be up against facing off alongside an always strong Hatherleigh senior colts team. The boys were consistent with their effort throughout all four quarters but just struggled to find ways to score and keep the ball in our forward half. The final score being 17 to 73. Brodie Pfitzner kicked our only 2 goals. Best players were Tyrone SiebertNorman, Patrick Langsmith, Digby Richards-Fennell, Riley

Ferguson and Declan Mutch.

B Grade: The Reserves had a few players back from Round 1 and showed a much more consistent effort and performance. The score line, 25 to 121, did not reflect the way some of the guys went about it and how well they played, with the game running away from us in the 2nd half. But that's what happens when you play the top team that's won 4 or 5 flags in a row. We will connue to improve and once everyone is consistently on the training track results will come. Best players were Trent Hawke, Jayson Finnis, Byron Tentye, Darcy Williamson, Isaac Stubberfield and Ben Hentschke.

A Grade: The Seniors had their first win of the year against last year's runners up to the tune of a thumping 25.11.161 to 9.10.64 point win. Although our opposion had a couple of players out, we were the same in Round 1 and you can only play what's put in front of you. We played with a lot more pace than usual and this helped are 2 key forwards in Tory and Sauce. Our midfield was on top most of the game and our defence played for each other to rebound many aacks. Tory Weaver managed to bag 9 goals but could have had 15. Jack Miller somehow kicked a goal from the back pocket so we must have been up by a bit. Let's hope we can carry some momentum into this rounds game. Best players were Tory Weaver, Patrick Mitchell, Henry Smith, Jack Edmonds, Zacc Cocks and Dylan Childs.

This week we travel to Kongorong to take on the Hawks.

Good luck to all teams.

ROBE v HATHERLEIGH

Hatherleigh head down to Robe this weekend to play off against the Roosters. Hatherleigh’s Erin Watson and Robe’s Annie Regnier will both fight hard for the ball through the court, chasing up loose balls and creang turnovers. Robe have a strong goal circle line up, being able to ulise Tori Gluyas, Halle Carter or Demi Carter within their circle, all able to shoot with accuracy. Hatherleigh’s Lara MacGregor and Elly Redden will need to work overme to get hands over balls and pull in any potenal rebounds. Rosie Nele will work hard outside the circle for the Eagles to put pressure on passes and forcing errors for Robe’s aack line. Robe defenders Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins move well in the circle, making it difficult for Hatherleigh goalies. This game will be a tough one, with both teams fighng for the win.

MOUNT BURR v PORT MACDONNELL

Mount Burr host the Demons this weekend, in what has the potenal to be a close game. Both teams are sporng strong line ups this season, with accurate goalies down both ends of the court. Megan Hein and Kori Collins move well within the circle for Port MacDonnell, however there will be a lot of pressure from Mozzies Olivia Dean and Megan Thiele, who use their height to their advantage. Demons Alysha Coon and Alana Berkefeld are able to create turnovers with ease, geng up over the ball and forcing errors from their opposion. Mount Burr’s Caitlyn Payne and Laura Schultz combine well through the midcourt, feeding their goalies with ease. This game could go either way, both teams are strong and will fight to get the win.

NANGWARRY v KALANGADOO

Kalangadoo head to Nangwarry this weekend to play off again the Saints. Kalangadoo goalies Ebony McDiarmid and Abbey Duncan are able to move well together and find the space in the circle with ease. Nangwarry defenders Kayla Gray and Chrystal Lock will need to apply pressure throughout the game, staying on their toes and keeping the Magpies goalies occupied. Saints Demi Hoffmeister and Kate Bizko combine well, with Hoffmeister shoong accurately so far this season. Lauren Kain and Jane Auld both work overme and will create turnovers in Nangwarry’s aacking end. Kalangadoo will come away with the points, however the Saints will put up a tough fight.

KONGORONG v GLENCOE

The Hawks and Murphies go head to head this weekend at Kongorong. Hawks Riley Buckingham and Emily Lightbody fight relessly for their team and will snatch up any missed shots or wayward passes from Glencoe’s aack line. Glencoe goalies Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks are able to read the ball with ease and are fed well from outside the circle by Donna Jaeschke. Down the other end of the court Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen will create pressure and force turnovers from Kongorong’s goal circle. Kongorong’s Rachel Perry is able to control the ball around the circle edge and will feed into Hawks goalies Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey with accuracy. Both teams will come out firing, but Glencoe will finish the day with the win.

NETball club notes

Congratulaons to Cassie Obst for playing her 50 games this week. A very acve member of our club, player, mum and commiee member. We look forward to the next 50!

A Grade: Pt Mac 27 def by Robe 45. What a game! Such an incredible team game by everyone. We came out firing in the first quarter, in front by 11 at quarter me. Such great posive talk, chasing loose balls and backing each other up all over the court. Incredible defensive pressure the whole way down the court. So proud of these girls - such an inspiring game. Well done to Georgia Perkins on winning the Calcua (Holiday), with great defensive pressure and leadership all over the court. Incenve (Caledonian Inn) went to Ellen Ramke for always giving 100% and creang lots of turnovers.

A Reserve: Port Mac 38 def by Robe 46. The team went out with determinaon and confidence today The shooters Emilie and Ella worked hard around the circle to get scoring opportunies and our defenders worked relessly to get touches in the ring. Our transioning down the court looked effortless, with Kim, Stacey and Maisie also pung pressure on the opposion across the court. The whole team fought hard to get the win, big congrats to all! Calcua went to Ella (The Eighth Leer Bungalow) and Incenve to Maisie (The Union Café).

B Grade: Port Mac 26 def by Robe 55. We went into this game with 3 from our team. I am so grateful as a coach that my plethora of fill-ins were keen to have a crack. From the backline, we must first menon George, who has been training with us and was given the opportunity to play defence with her sister. I know I called her a freak at 3/4 me, because she played a ripper and took countless classy intercepts that had the sidelines just grinning. Georgie earnt herself the Calcua, well deserved (Loaves & Fishes). Incenve went to sister Mads (Millicent Sportspower) who was reless and who clearly froths over her defensive posion. Such a gun! Adelle Birchall played her first senior game in WD. This is a young one to watch, she looked quite comfortable out there. Captain Lily started in Centre then WA and WD. Strong and feisty, Lil loves to put the pressure on her opponents. Great work. Soph stepped up a grade to help us out, quickly finding her feet in WA, and even junior goalie Sienna hit the court with fresh legs. I wish I could bole Libby's facial expressions from todayshe had a pearler of a game in GS. Many had played 2 games, but in parcular Maisie and Ella raised the bar with their efforts aer playing ARez before. I jammed Maisie in Centre and she played a beauty, and Ella connues her stellar display in goals and pushing all barriers. Most of all, you guys looked like you were absolutely loving it out there and I couldn't smile wider as a coach. To the best mob of young Roosters - you smashed it!

B Reserve: Pt Mac 38 def Robe 20.

Port Mac as always was a tough, strong team. Our girls held strong and fought hard to maintain a reasonable gap. A big congrats to Cassie on her 50th game this week and for also taking out incenve (Holiday). Calcua went to Olivia (Steve's Place) for another strong game in defence.

17 & Under: Pt Mac 56 D Robe 41. Awards: Union Café / Robe Seafood & Takeaway. A really tough fought out game by the girls this week, a much tougher game than the last trying to match top age girls. It was great to see everyone pung some things we are working on at training into our game! The wet court didn't help with a few drags here and there but overall, a fantasc game with everyone adjusng well with a few posion changes. Best player this week to Georgie (Union Café) for yet another great game in goals! Incenve went to Emily (Robe Seafood & Takeaway) for her dedicaon throughout the whole game and geng some great hands to the ball!

15 & Under: Pt Mac 52 def Robe 22. The sunshine was out in the beginning and then the rain rolled in for a very wet game. We managed to get the first couple of goals, however the lead slipped away from us and unfortunately we didn't come away with the win. A switch up of posions and everyone adapted well and kept their heads up high which was great to see. All girls should proud of this. Great to hear the voices and support towards each other on the court. Best player went to Millie Fennell (Hook & Harvest) and Incenve to Olivia Birchall (Union Café).

13 & Under: Pt Mac 46 def Robe 2. The girls like the last 2 weeks went out with posivity and always played their game. We had a few change ups this week trying to find what works for us and what doesn't. We have a very stacked defensive side so trying to get the girls confident in goals is something we'll definitely keep working on. Saskia, Lily, Holly and Siarrah worked relessly in defence geng lots of rebounds, and intercepts. Mid court players Zoe, Livia and Lacey all did a fantasc job moving the ball down the court and proved to be a really great trio. Makenzie worked really hard all game in goals and the score board definitely didn't reflect her effort and determinaon. Best player went to Lacey Brooks (Union Café) who fought hard in all posions she was put in and Incenve went to Makenzie (Millicent Sportspower). Well done girls!

Junior 1: 3 seasons in one game. The girls did well considering the freezing rain they had to walk out in to. Coaches award went to Mali (SE Excavaons) this week for a great game in WD, using great footwork and listening to instrucon well.

Junior 2: Up against some more tough opponents. Everyone tried really hard and enjoyed playing in the rain!! Best player went to Malda (Caledonian Inn) for her first game and for listening really well.

NETball club notes

Junior 2: With lots away last week we had plenty of girls coming in for their first game of netball on Saturday and they all did great. Our defensive pressure, posioning and movement on our toes caused many turnovers which then flowed through into the goals. Aer half me it was good to see the girls trying to work their way towards the ball rather than away, which made the ball move smoother and more comfortably throughout the court.

Awards: Addison Lowe (Beggs Bean, Bar & Coffee van), Emily Freebairn (HLC), Myla Bowman (McDonalds Mt Gambier), Luca Bateman (Daisy Sun the Label).

Junior 1: We worked hard today on using our dodges before making a lead for the ball. We need to remember to keep coming in front and to pass to the person who is in front rather than the one who is behind. Defensively everyone played ghtly on their players, creang lots of turnovers, which gave us lots of shoong opportunies. Awards: Kaia Green (Beggs Bean, Bar & Coffee van), Charloe Chambers (HLC), Hazel Hamilton (Daisy Sun the Label), Leila Schmidt (McDonalds Mount Gambier).

13 & Under: Hatherleigh (48) defeated Kongorong (20). Our first half we had plenty of the ball but couldn't quite convert, due to our own mistakes. In the second half we came out firing, ready to chase the ball and make our opponents work hard for every possession. Mollie had great vision down the court and into the goal circle. While Livvi opened up the court, created space and combined well with Sienna to finish off with accuracy.

Awards: Tilly Prouse (Beggs Bean, Bar & Coffee van), Mollie O'Connor (HLC), Luca Hamilton (Daisy Sun the Label), Chloe David (McDonalds Mount Gambier).

15 & Under: Hatherleigh (63) defeated Kongorong (12). Great game today girls! Very impressed with everyone's drive and determinaon to push each other and the score board. There was lots of pressure down the court causing many turnovers. Well done to both Olivia's for geng their hands to the ball every chance they could and really taking in everything I told them and to Sylvie for standing her ground in the goal circle and creang lots of space.

Awards: Olivia Bellinger (HLC), Olivia Beggs (Daisy Sun the Label), Sylvie Barlow (McDonalds Mt Gambier).

17 & Under: Hatherleigh (53) defeated by Kongorong (62). A very good effort this weekend girls. Unfortunately, we couldn't come away with the win, but there were some very good passages to take from today's game. Well done to Eva, who made some excellent leads and took advantage of her pace. Imogen, well done on your movement inside and outside the ring, with some very accurate shoong. Also, a menon to Niah, who again was able to move from aack to defence well, driving hard and always being an opon down the court. Overall, there were some promising elements to take out of today's game, but making sure that we implement what we do at training, into our game, whilst maintaining consistency throughout.

Awards: Eva Thomas (Daisy Sun the Label), Imogen Nowak (Hatherleigh Ladies Commiee), Niah Faulkner (McDonalds Mount Gambier).

B Reserve: Hatherleigh (49) defeated Kongorong (34). The sun was shining for the first home game at Hatherleigh. First quarter saw Kongorong and Hatherleigh going goal for goal. Strong shoong by Eliza and Sarah had Hatherleigh in front by 2 at the first break. A few changes made at quarter me brought Sally into C, with her drive helping to move the ball quickly into the circle where both shooters were able to convert with accuracy. Karen's vision and ability to adjust her play provided lots of turnovers up and down the court. When we all played defensively it made the difference and this is something we will connue to work on at training. Changes at half me didn't pay off and we actually lost the third

quarter. But to the girl's credit, and more changes at ¾ me, we finished off strongly Awards: Karen Bowman, well done on a strong 4 quarter effort (Sassi), and for accurate shoong Eliza Burton (HS&RC) & Sarah Beare (Somerset Hotel). We would like to thank Jo for scoring, Jess for Primary care and give a warm welcome to Dizey, our newly appointed team manager

B Grade: Hatherleigh (42) defeated Kongorong (27). Great first quarter with Eliza slong into the circle with Ellie, both shoong accurately. At the other end of the court Georgia, Ella and Demi worked hard to limit opportunies to Kongorong's goalies. Meg and Jas fed well and worked hard in the mid-court, Sophie came on at half me at Centre and gave Jas a welldeserved break, having a great impact in the mid-court with her reach over the ball causing issues for Kongorong's mid-court. Ella came off in the last, Sophie moved back to GD and Jas came back into C we finished off with a strong last quarter. Thanks to Eliza B and Sarah for sing on the bench!

Awards: Eliza Mewe (HSRC), Ella Major (Somerset Hotel), Meg Gray (Sassi).

A Reserve: Hatherleigh (65) defeated Kongorong (34). Watching our game today it looked like we had been playing together longer than a few weeks. The combinaon of Abby and Ali in the shoong circle for 4 quarters saw great space awareness for each other, great shoong, and strong rebounding. Georgia, Cate & Shayla showed great speed and agility in the mid-court, with precise passing into the goalies and their defensive pressure in the mid-court gave us plenty of turnovers. Our defence end had a few different combinaons today as well and we adjusted with every change. Lucy and Cate played great ght close checking at WD and strong drive down into our aack end while Sarah and Millie connue to create turnovers for us and only allowing their opponents to score 7, 6 and 6 in three quarters. I was super impressed by all eight players today by our speed and transion down the court and our encouragement for each other. Keep working hard and the rewards will keep coming. Thank you, Niah, from the 17's for sing bench and Emma Howell for me keeping at the last minute (I owe you a drink). Awards: Abby Wight (Somerset Hotel), Ali McClelland (Sassi), Georgia Hunter (HS&RC).

A Grade: Hatherleigh (51) defeated Kongorong (42). Certainly not a perfect game for us against Kongorong but through hard work and determinaon we got the win! Our defence line who we knew were going to be up against it with height difference came up with 23 turns over the game giving us plenty of opportunity in aack. The whole court pressure was at its best, but we just let ourselves down with easy passing mistakes. We just have to keep trusng our structures and each other and release the ball. Demi worked relessly all game and was a focal point in the goal circle working both with Mads P and Tegan. Mads had some good passages with clever passing between her and Demi with Tegan bringing a bit more movement into the circle. The mid-court were working hard to work in with Georgia who came on for a half and gave everything she had even aer playing a whole game in A Reserve. The defence end with Erin chasing anything loose, Rosie pung pressure over the ball and making her opponent work for every ball and giving Elly and Lara the opportunity to have a crack at any balls that were loose. Elly and Lara worked hard all game and got beer and beer as the game went on. A hard-fought game which we could have easily dropped our heads and let slip but instead we dug deep and connued to work hard which is a huge posive. Thanks to Sarah, Ali & Kate for doing the official dues. Awards: Lara MacGregor (Sassi), Elly Redden (Somerset Hotel), Erin Watson (HS&RC).

Junior 2: I'm so impressed with you girls. Your moving down the court and your use of loud, confident voices has improved a lot since last game. The first half was the best I've seen you play yet! We created a lot of defensive pressure and started to move in front of our players on the aacking end which is great to see. Switching posions every quarter isn't easy but you girls nail it every me and look more and more confident with your posions and roles every game. The Fasta Pasta award went to Grace for showing leadership in the defensive end and pung in effort when going for the ball every me.

Junior 1: Well done girls, I was proud of your persistence and effort for the whole game against a much taller team. We had some great transion down the court and great reoffering. It was pleasing to see lots of movement and creang space in the goal circle. Awards went to Bella (Boost Juice) for her great rebounding and defensive efforts and Zoe (Zambreros) for never giving up and her persistence and determinaon all game.

13 & Under: Bad luck girls. We played against a strong Kalangadoo team. It was a tough game and we kept playing for the 4 quarters and never giving up, in a one-sided game. So proud of all the girls and always listening, and working hard at training and we can all see the improvements each week. Thanks so much to Poppy and Indi for filling in. Thanks to Amanda for scoring and Ebony for umpiring. Awards went to Alice –Boost and Hope – Toy Kingdom.

15 & Under: Bad luck girls, not the result we were aer. It shows we train how we play! Lexi and Becky played well in defence cung lots of passes off which was supported by our mid court. Sara controlled the game well and gave 110%. Let's get to training and work on coming in front and talking. Best players went to Stella (Boost Juice) and Sarah (Zambreros) for their reless effort in the goal circle and shoong under pressure. Thanks Leah for umpiring and Amanda for scoring.

17 & Under: Today you showed how versale and flexible you all are, adapng to connual changes in posions. It was great to see some free flowing passages down court. The next step is to work on ming our leads so we can pass in front and meet the ball aer a short lead. Pressure from aack line was improved this week to help defensive pressure, which will be required as we take on another tough side in round 4. Using small steps to get infront allowed our defense line to make intercepts today. Connuing to work on pulling the ball in strongly with 2 hands will help the team make the most of turnovers. Making sure

we use our cirlce for short passes and being "greedy goalies" will also ensure we have safe passes without pung goalies under pressure. I was proud of the way you all worked together and started to have some voice out there. Celebrang successes and leng your team mates know where their opponents are will help us connue to have success. Congratulaons Makaylah on winning the sommerset award and Abbey the Boost Juice award. Thanks Jo for scoring and Laura for umpiring.

B Reserve: Bad luck girls, Kalangadoo played a much beer game on the day. We need to have paence and support for each other, all over the court. We need to work hard geng in front and our game flow much beer. We will learn a lot from this game and what to work on to improve our team game. Thanks to Madi for umpiring and Brianna for scoring. Awards went to Mia – Muffin Break and Hannah – Fasta Pasta.

B Grade: Bad luck girls, we started off with a good quarter then just let it slip from there. Tilly made some great intercepts in defence and helped move the ball down court. Lani and Charloe combined well together in goals and it was great to hear you communicate. We need to remember to play as a team and keep our heads up for all 4 quarters.

A Reserve: We took to the court with a new look team. We took some me to sele in the 1st quarter allowing Kalangadoo to get a good break. The 2nd quarter was our best, only being outscored by 1. Leila and Maddie G worked relessly all game against a tall GS. Aer a quiet 3rd quarter we picked it back up in the last aer a few changes. Abbey, Lilly and Macy worked hard through the mid court with Maddie B, Alisha and Jasmine shoong well under pressure. Thanks to Mandy for umpiring, Lynne for scoring, the U17 girls Abbey, Jasmine, Macy and Jemma for helping us out and Lisa for coaching. Awards: SassiAlisha, Laura & Vicki - Maddie B.

A Grade: The game started out fast and strong, missed goals and intercepted passes gave Kalangadoo a jump start on the game leaving us to play catch up Netball for the rest of the game. To our credit we connued working away quarter by quarter even when injuries arose. Changes were made each quarter break and we adjusted well to our changes and we are lucky enough to have the depth and skills to draw from. Ashlee Dean had her first A Grade debut for Mt Burr late in the game and did exceponally well, she received the Ducky's voucher this week for her efforts. Connuous defensive pressure and eye for the ball from Olivia and Megan made the Kalangadoo ring work hard to get the ball in for their goalies. Megan received the Harper and Co Voucher today. Final score 58-32. Thank you to the umpires, scorers and mers for the day

Junior 2: Well done girls, a great game today. I love seeing your progress from week to week. As long as you keep listening & improving, I'll be a very happy coach! Pippa played a great 3 quarters, geng her hands to many balls & chasing the ball hard. Our ever reliable Lucy moved well & got many intercepts. Emilee & Desny had both had a week off last week but played great netball today. Desny ran well in centre & Emilee did great work in aack. Ellie our pocket rocket ran hard & found the space well. Milah also played a great game, watching the ball so well & creang many turnovers. Imogen earned the Wendy's award today for shoong some great goals! By the end of the game she was moving so well around the goal circle. Ruby earned herself the Subway award for a great game, parcularly her first half at GA, shoong a heap of goals & talking well to her teammates. Great job girls!

Junior 1: Great game today girls, what a wet day. First me in the rain for the season and the girls did really well with a slippery ball. Zaria shot a massive 12 goals for the team, well done. Great team effort with some really nice teamwork in the center play from Skyla, Maddy and Emily. Thank you to our sponsors, Wendy's and Fasta Pasta which went to Brianna and Skyla.

13 & Under: Port MacDonnell 46 defeated Robe 2. The girls used the ball effecvely to help keep their balance whilst the court was slippery. Once the girls felt comfortable on court their driving to the ball become more consistent and helped create great game structure down the court. The defensive end stuck really ght to their opponents which secured them numerous intercepts throughout the game. All the girls are becoming really confident on court and trusng each other to be where they're needed, making their court plays look amazing. Awards: Roxy Day (Wendy's), Daisee Stanley (Fasta Pasta).

15 & Under: Port MacDonnell 52 defeated Robe 22. Another solid game girls, awesome job once again. You girls are all such an awesome group of young netballers to coach, and you are all eager to perform at your best each week. Even though we were short two players, everyone has adjusted tremendously well, and have sloed into their new posions. Today Lily was back out in goals and had a ripper of a game. Lily's confidence started to show, which saw her get a lile greedy in the circle, but she got lots of the ball and worked really well with our other star goalie Bailee. Layla also had a ripper of a game as usual and saw herself out in WD, providing a strong drive and mulple turn overs. That drive out of defence provides flowing transion down the court. If I could, I would blabber on all day about every player. Keep up the awesome work girls we are so proud! Awards: Layla McPherson (Boost), Lily Jacob (The Bay Pizzeria).

17 & Under: Port MacDonnell 56 defeated Robe 41. Our girls managed another win this week, despite geng off to a bit of a slow start against a tough Robe side. We saw Stevie Collins

play her first game for the season and she didn't disappoint. Her defensive pressure against accurate Robe goalies and her drive up the court will be something to keep your eyes on. In the second half, we cleaned up some of our unforced errors and were able to get a 10 goal lead heading in to the final quarter. Sophie Lewis was again dominant through the centre providing excellent defensive pressure and a reliable drive in transion. Lillie Lamb earned herself best player this week for her lockdown defence against a strong offensive Robe lineup and excellent passing into our own aack line. At the final whistle, the demon girls managed a 15 goal win. Next week will be a great game against a well performing Mt Burr side so be sure to get out and support our junior netballers! Awards: Lillie Lamb (Intersport), Sophie Lewis (Subway).

B Reserve: Port MacDonnell 38 defeated Robe 20. We had a strong start and connued to work hard for each other, persisng in aach to get the ball safely into our goal cycle and working hard to finish it off. Once again our defence worked relessly turning the ball over and working it into aack with great driving. Brooklyn & Ashton Jones received best players for their connued effect for the whole game. Thank you to our sponsors Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro and TaylorMade Hair & Beauty for this week's vouchers.

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 26 defeated by Robe 55. Somemes the game doesn't go the way you want it to. But we can learn from this experience and build upon it. It's important to work together, support and encourage each other throughout the tough games. We need to focus on the things that we can control and trust the structures and processes. We need to be countable for our own mistakes and take responsibility. Adapt to situaons quickly, be resilient and maintain concentraon. It's only our third game and we sll have work to do to reach our full potenal. There are always going to be challenges. Great gains from the defensive efforts throughout the court. Ulising these gains is our next step. Well done to Lilly stepping on the court to play her first senior game. Awards: Montanna Millard (Shipwreck Bistro, Victoria Hotel Port MacDonnell), Candice Merre (The Bay Pizzeria).

A Reserve: Port MacDonnell 38 defeated by Robe 46. Great effort girls, we had some great passages of play but unfortunately our passing let us down. There was a lot to take from our game. Best players went to Nic Collins (The Bay Pizzeria), and Keyarnah Smith.

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 27 defeated by Robe 45. Bad luck girls, our passing needs to improve. In saying that, our transion from defence to aack is looking a lot beer, but we need to slow it down. Defence worked overme again, great effort. Midcourt did a great job too, Robe were a very fast side. Great holding and moving in the ring by Kori. Awards: Alana Berkefeld (Shipwreck Bistro, Victoria Hotel Port MacDonnell), Alysha Coon (Fasta Pasta).

Junior 2: Round three, where to start. It's crazy how much these girls have learnt in such a short space of me. I'm prey confident there was next to no off sides this week, showing that the girls have a greater understanding of where each posion is allowed to go on the court. All the girls played amazing again this week. We scored one goal for the game, shot by Maddie Thomson, assisted by Mia Moy Best players for this round were Kenzie Clayfield and Ariella Thomson, for demonstrang great listening skills.

Junior 1: Great game today girls everyone played really well. Lots of good moving in aack and passing the balls to the right opons. We started to use our feeders around the ring when too far out which is good to see. Defence puts lots of pressure on all game and got lots of intercepts. Great effort by everyone.

Awards Keeley and Harper

13 & Under: Well done guys on your first win! We had a strong defence line with Ruby and James doing some great intercepts and rebounds, Lucy and Darcy shoong well together and Ella, Immy and Paige working hard down the mid court. You guys should be really proud! First best went to Lucy for shoong really well and second best went to Ruby for some awesome defending. The award went to Lucy for listening and doing as we asked.

15 & Under: Well done girls. We’re happy with all seven players' effort against Tant. Madison had a great game in goals holding, shoong and moving brilliantly to earn the Wendy's award. We sll have lots to work on. If we kept aending training and listen to instrucons, we will connue to improve and that is all we can aim for. Will be a hard game this

week but we just need to play at our own pace, give 100% and play as a team.

17 & Under: This week's game was a thrilling match that showcased the determinaon and teamwork of the Nangwarry team. Despite having three under-15 fill-ins, the team displayed a united front and played with great skill and intensity throughout the game. The players contested fiercely for the ball, taking on a physical Tant side, and the defence worked relessly, while the midcourt players ran which I am sure felt like it was endless to keep the ball moving. The goalies were parcularly impressive, with their accuracy on point for much of the game. Overall, it was a fantasc performance by the Nangwarry team, and the improvement they showed in such a short amount of me is a testament to their hard work and dedicaon. With the rest of the season ahead of them, it will be excing to see what they can achieve.

B Reserve: Saturday was a tough day, we were short our regular defence players we had girls not feeling the best and players trying different posions to help support the team. Best player our Centre posion Davina did a great effort running our game and helping support all areas of the court. Maddy and Chloe worked amazing down in defence keeping the pressure on. We are looking forward to more trainings together to improve our overall fitness and our skills together and connue with a posive season for 2023.

B Grade: It was a hard and physical game yesterday ladies. You all played well individually and gave it your all. Zoe and Krissy fought hard in defence all day, Shandeen and Kate tried hard in our goals to keep the game alive. Montana, Giorja and Amelia run hard in the mid court to drive the ball out. It is just the basics that we are lacking girls and will more training all together we will get there. Amelia was best player

A Reserve: This week’s A Res game was a challenging one for the team aer having a week off. Despite being a new team, the players came together with the goal of supporng each other on the court and communicang effecvely. However, the team struggled to find their rhythm and just couldn't seem to find their groove during the match. Although the game didn't go their way, the team is determined to learn from their mistakes and improve going forward. They showed some promising signs during the third quarter, and if they can replicate that level of play consistently over all four quarters, they will be able to compete closely with other teams in the league. With hard work and dedicaon, the team is sure to bounce back and put up a strong fight in their upcoming games.

A Grade: Was a tough one last week, we always knew this was going to be a hard one? Everyone had some really good patches of play through the whole game, so many posives and it will all come together with some more games under our belt. Aack really worked over me and when we were paent and played our own game it worked really well, with some good feeding into the goalers. Defence had a hard one today and as the game went on you all got beer and beer, the extra pressure and intensity you all gave turned over the balls. Keep up the work rate everyone it will start to just flow, will take a lile me to get used to each other. Also great work by junior Kaitlin that came on in the last quarter Best were Kayla and Chrystal.

Amie was back from her broken arm and played well in defence with Lea. Courtney, Marnee & Zoe played a great game in the mid court and worked well together. There were some great passages of play again this game and we are connuing to improve each week. Lets focus on turning the ball over and capitalising on that. Junior 2: It was great to see the sun out for our game this week! Defenders did a great job with rebounds, intercepts and chasing the ball. The goalies did some amazing moving and trying for goals. Well done to the mid court players for geng in front and making great leads. Best players this week went to Bella Bignell (LICO Pty Ltd) for using her voice, and being nice and loud. She put in a lot of effort to get in front and kept trying for intercepts. The encouragement award went to Billy Childs for a great first game of the season and working the ball down the court. Great game everyone!

Junior 1: It was definitely a hard game for us today, but everyone did a fabulous job! Shelby Weedon was best player with a couple of great goals (sponsored by Metalworx). She did some great work when back in defence in the last quarter, collecng some intercepts and rebounds. Charloe Bignell earned the Fasta Pasta Award for some great defence and excellent leading in centre.

13 & Under: Bad luck today girls. It was close for most of the game and you fought hard. We had some great passages of play and never gave up. With only the bare 7 it was hard game and the girls all pushed to run out a full game. First best went to Layla (Dycer Construcon) for her drive and run down the court, which resulted in many touches and turnovers. Second best went to Bella for her ght defence against a tough opponent. She never gave up and chased up every loose ball. Encouragement award went to Emma who did everything we asked of her during the breaks. We know what we need to work on to come away with a win next me. Well done girls!

15 & Under: Great game today girls despite having over half the team missing. Thank you to Layla and Ella for filling in today. We had some great passages of play. The defence applied constant pressure with many intercepts and hands over the ball. The midcourt worked hard but struggled to find space. Our shooter combo played well without ever playing together before. Best player today went to Shae Tweddle (Maloney Plumbing) who was constantly trying to create space and provided lots of talk down the court, direcng much of the play. Second best went to Amelie Cary who connues with a never give up atude and geng many fingers to balls throughout the game. Let's play hard for the win aer the bye.

17 & Under: Fabulous from the first whistle with everyone contribung strongly throughout the first quarter with the score being 16 to 5 at the break. Shae stepped into WA and was always an opon at centre passes, pung pressure on in defence too. Zoe ran superbly and as ever, is the opon to set-up plays with her reliable and accurate passing. Lilly did everything she was asked and we had loads to like in our goal circle. Kayla, Giaan and Jena did a great job too. Thanks to Ruby for benching, it is much appreciated. Our best player today was Lilly Fiegert (Degaris Lawyers), second to Kayla Ferguson and our encouragement award went to Shae.

B Reserve: It was a tough game today as a new team against a very experienced side. We also were missing a few of our own. Thank you so much to Giaan Ferguson and Alyssa Medhurst for playing a half each aer their own game. You both did well to step up and play your roles in a senior game. Aer a slow start, we made some changes that seemed to open up our play and create some momentum down the court. Our defence

combinaon again did some amazing work bringing the ball down the court, however at mes, we couldn't convert. We'll take the bye this week to regroup and rest, and to work on our ming and leading to create opons when working the ball down the court. This can only improve with game me together. Best player went to Jacinta Robinson (Key2Sale) for being a consistent opon, direcng much of the play and taking on a leadership role in the game. Second best went to Jorja Owen for standing up and holding her own against some very tough, experienced opponents. Encouragement award went to Jasmine Mutch for her excellent work in Goal Keeper

B Grade: It was great to have a few players back and almost a full team available to play. To come away with a draw was tough, but a hard-fought game by all. Aer a tough third quarter, being down by 4, to keep working hard to have a draw was a great effort. Our new defence combinaon worked extremely well together, geng a lot of turnovers in and around the circle. The mid court and the aack line adapted well to new playing combinaons and changes made throughout the game. The goalies will only improve with confidence and game me together. This game showed a few things to work towards during trainings but I am very pleased with everyone's efforts and ability to remain steady and calm when the pressure was really on. Hopefully our next game will bring us a fully fit team and get our first win on the board. Best players went to Kayla McInnes (24/7 Car and Dog Wash) and Kate Sealey

A Reserve: Bad luck girls! To be leading for most of the game and lose it right at the end is disappoinng. A high intensity game from start to finish, with some fantasc passages of play. Our full court pressure really made the difference today and we were rewarded with handy intercepts through the mid court. Great movement in the goal ring today from Max and Abbie once we got into it and there was some great composure feeding in from Chloe and Laura outside. A tough day in defence, but great persistence from Tameka and Sam with great rebounds giving us opportunies. Jessie led from the front all game, with a great voice and drove down the court with crucial back up at the line. Well done to Jorja coming on in centre at half me and created great drives down the court. We'll get them next me! Best players went to Madeline Watson (B & P Travel and Cruise) and Jessie Gosden. Congratulaons to Jessie Gosden on playing her 250th Club Game and 150th Senior Game! Also a big Congratulaons to Madeline Watson for playing her 150th Club Game!

A Grade: Glencoe 57 def Hath 41. Good game girls. Plenty of posives to come from that game. We started each quarter really strongly and when we did have a patch of lowered intensity, we were able to turn that around throughout the quarter – which was great to see. The connecon into Chantelle was amazing. We did well to adjust and change this up as the game went on. Much more seled in the defence end this week and our whole court pressure held up the ball nicely. Let's keep up the hard work over the bye and come out strong for our next game. Best players were Sarah Edwards (O'Brien Electrical) and Chantelle Cocks. Congratulaons to Sarah Edwards on playing her 250th Club Game and 100 Senior Games!

Hatherleigh 51 defeated Kongorong 42

A strong start from both teams eager for the ball with Hatherleigh's Rosie Nele pung great pressure over the ball while Kongorong's Tilah Buckingham posioned well and held in perfect posion for the Hawks Rach Perry & Kate Wright to pass into the space creang goals. It was a tough bale in the mid court with both centres evenly matched creang many turn overs for both teams. Kongorong took the lead early mid quarter but with Tegan Telfer and Erin Watson from Hatherleigh fast feeding into the circle with Demi Vanderhorst finishing it off with great accuracy and Hatherleigh's defence of Elly Redden and Lara MacGregor were working ght to create turn overs which brought the score to 11 all at quarter me.

Hatherleigh's Redden started the quarter with strong rebounding and Vanderhorst working relessly in the circle as she had a tough bale against Hawks GD, Riley Buckingham who was applying great pressure and reading the ball well creang many opportunies for Kongorong. In turn Hatherleigh's Nele connued applying pressure over the ball which lead to many turnovers & Watson connued to chase up loose balls. Sll a very ght tussle with Hatherleigh being up by 1 at half me 24-23.

Hatherleigh made changes to the aack line at half me while the Hawks made no changes. The 3rd quarter saw the Hawks defence working extra hard but Hatherleigh's Vanderhorst connued to shoot accurately with Telfer who moved to GA feeding perfectly and both rebounding any given chance and turning into a goal. Hawks' shooter T Buckingham held well but the bale between Redden and Hawks' GA Evie Sealy was making it hard to convert into goals for the Hawks.

Hatherleigh's defence pressure in the circle turned the game to create a 3 goal lead for the Eagles at three quarter me with no changes being made from either side.

The last quarter saw both teams starng strong with Kongorong's Emily Lightbody in GK applying pressure in the circle and hawks were capitalising bringing the score back to even in the first 3 minutes but with both teams having great pressure down the court making the game goal for goal. Redden and MacGregor connued to work hard in defence for Hatherleigh while the applied pressure all down the court created many turnovers for the Eagles bringing them in the lead. Telfer had seled in to goals, feeding Vanderhorst well and converng into goals which started to flow at the end of the quarter seeing Hatherleigh get the upper hand in the end to finish a highly contested match 51-42.

Best players - Hatherleigh: Lara MacGregor, Elly Redden; Kongorong: Riley Buckingham, Evie Sealey

Kalangadoo 58 defeated Mt Burr 32

Both teams started the game strongly with pressure and high work rate from all players. Early

in the quarter Mt Burr’s circle defenders Megan Thiele and Olivia Dean combined effecvely to force Kalangadoo goalies Abbey Duncan and Lara Munro to work hard to find space. Mt Burr’s Laura Schultz made her mark on the game, reading the play well and feeding her goalies accurately Kalangadoo entered the first break with a ten goal advantage.

Mt Burr made posional changes bringing on Lauren Wheeler to wing aack and moving Schultz into goal aack. Wheeler and Kalangadoo’s Jane Auld were having a ght tussle with both players not giving an inch. Mt Burr’s goal shooter Ebony Clark had a solid quarter shoong at 100%. Kalangadoo went into the main break 30 to Mt Burr 14.

Mt Burr brought fresh legs on during the break with the addion of Simone Westerman to goal keeper which inially unseled the Kalangadoo goal circle. Kalangadoo defensive pressure increased throughout the third quarter with Auld and Lauren Kain geng plenty of the ball and forcing errors from Mt Burr’s young aack line.

Mt Burr were dealt injury concerns late in the third quarter and early into the fourth quarter which saw them use the most of their bench. The quarter connued at a high intensity with Kalangadoo’s mid court finding space and able to feed their goalies with precision. Thiele connued to work hard on Kalangadoo’s Duncan who was posioning well for her feeders and combined well with Munro to convert accurately. With Kalangadoo’s defensive pressure and experience they were able to extend the lead out to 26 at the final whistle. Best players - Kalangadoo: Lara Munro, Chloe Peacock; Mt Burr: Megan Thiele, Caitlyn Payne.

Pt MacDonnell 27 lost to Robe 45

Saturday saw Port MacDonnell host their fellow seasiders for their second home game of the season. Robe won the toss and were awarded with the first centre pass. Despite an early turnover from the Bay's star defender Alana Berkefeld, the first goal went to the Roosters. Rooster's captain Georgia Perkins set the defensive pressure early creang many turnovers, resulng in a convincing early lead, causing Port Mac goalies Megan Hein and Kori Collins to struggle. In a very speedy game of netball, the Bay's Liza Mutch and Shannon Scheidl had good cover through the middle, but Robe's Annie Regnier and Lucy Perkins worked exceponally well together, with their experience and agility challenging the Demon's mid court. With the Carter sisters Demi and Halle holding well in Robe's goal circle and shoong with excellent accuracy, the Roosters took a promising 16-5 goal lead, coming into quarter me.

The second quarter saw both team's posions remain seled. Robe's mid courters counted on chasing up loose balls from Port Mac, ensuring turnovers from Robe defenders G. Perkins and Emma Grant were treasured. The Roosters connued to be highly dominant through the

midcourt. Down the defensive end for the Demons, Alysha Coon and Berkefeld were geng many intercepts and good touches, working overme for their respecve side. Across every third of the court, Robe were chay which created stress for the Bay. Robe connued building on their lead, entering half me leading by 13.

Upon entering the second half, the Demons shuffled around their midcourt to provide some steadiness to their play. However, Robe's Regnier, L. Perkins, and Ellen Ramke were asserve through the middle, causing strife for Bay's Scheidl, Mutch, and Kate Faint. Although Collins and Hein moved well in the circle, their shoong accuracy was down, providing G. Perkins and Grant many rebounding opportunies which they took advantage of. The Carter sisters connued working hard in Robe's goal circle, but it was not easy work with Coon and Berkefeld working overme, making them earn every goal. Robe's court transion was excellent, and they worked well as a team. Robe led 34-17 at three quarter me.

The last quarter of the day saw Port Mac's Hein come out of goals and into WD, bringing the fresh legs of youngster Under 17 Lara Wilson into GS. Hein provided pressure down the midcourt, but this wasn't enough for the speedy aack side of the Roosters. Wilson added some much-needed accuracy for the Bay, but this wasn't enough to close the gap. Robe's Ramke worked relessly in the WD posion and provided back up to G. Perkins and Grant consistently throughout the game. Ulmately, the Rooster's athlecism and experience proved to be superior to the Bay's new, developing team. The score at the ned of the game was Port MacDonnell 27 defeated by Robe 45.

Best players - Robe: Georgia Perkins, Ellen Ramke; Pt Mac: Alana Berkefeld, Alysha Coon.
