Junior Colts: The boys did amazing last week. Top of the ladder Pt Mac were dominant but that didn’t stop our young burr boys from not dropping their heads. Levi lead the way with amazing work around the ground and bagged a couple of goals. Jimmy had a great game and baled hard in the guts all day. Reed had a tough opponent in the ruck but that didn’t stop him from being dominant in the air and on the deck. Super proud of all the boys for geng stuck in and playing Mt Burr footy when they were up against it.

Senior Colts: Last week we took on second place Pt Mac and let them get the jump on us with a five goal to nothing first quarter. Aer quarter me when the boys seled and played some honest wet weather football losing by 8 goals margin but the boys stuck at it. B Grade: It was always going to be a challenging trip down to Port Mac on Saturday playing in difficult condions. It was a tough game from start to finish and credit needs to go to Port Mac for their victory. Their bigger bodies proved too strong for our young side. Best performers for our side were Harvey Muhovics who is easily our most improved player this year, Jacob Gregory who competed all day, DJ who leads from the front week aer week, Jack Francis who

A Grade: Last weekend saw us travel down to Pt Mac. Pt Mac are a good side with some key players but overall I was happy with how our boys played. We spoke about a few key points before the game and happily we cked them off, regardless of the final score. Mt Burr football is all about effort and the boys certainly brought that. Best players were - 1. Spanksy who played an absolutely inspiring game. The way he competes against the bigger ruckman (and wins) is something special. 2. Dyl Ridz who again got plenty of the ball and worked forward and back all day. Never takes a backward step. 3. Jacko Muhovics who again worked hard all game and never gives in. 4. Ed Ballantyne who was called up to the A Grade for his body and toughness and did what was asked of him, barging through all day and compeng well. 5. Jackson “Rossy” Dean who backed up a solid performance in the Snr Colts with another great effort down back. 6. Sam Hunt who got a tough looking haircut specially done for the day and played some hard, tough football for such a young guy Onto Hatherleigh back at the Burr

this week, looking forward to the challenge.

A Grade: A great win last week up against Robe in once again tough condions. A heavy deck, deteriorang rapidly greeted us so a change of game plan was necessary. Repeat stoppages and gaining territory was going to be the way the game was to be won. Aer an even first quarter, we were able to take control of the game, keeping Robe scoreless in the 2nd quarter whilst kicking 4 goals ourselves. The message at half me was all about scking to the gameplan and keeping it simple, moving the ball forward. Once again, aer an even 3rd term, we stretched our lead in the last and again kept Robe scoreless to run out winners by 41 points. It was again a great team effort with everyone playing smart wet weather footy for four quarters. Best players were Will Chay, Jed Telfer and Sam Gray for massive efforts on ball. Brad Mitchell for his best game of the year and Darcy Bateman for his role up forward and in the ruck.

B Grade: We came up against robe in round 13 knowing we only won by 8 points down there last me, from the get go in wet weather, we knew if we brang the intensity and played good team football doing the lile things right, scoreboard would take care of itself. We hit the board early kicking the first 6 and stamped our authority on the game. Running out 78 point winners. Special thanks to Tilla Saunders who stepped in

for a one off game coming home for the reunion. Ethan Bowman was awarded bog, Jason Faulkner second, Joe Rayson, Toddy Watson and Rural Bell to finish the best

Senior Colts: In wet and slippery condions the boys baled against an inform Robe ouit. With sll a few key players out, we tried hard but were not able to match the slick movement from the opposion. Best player for the day was Blake Snook at full back. Jordy Atkinson had a tagging role the second half and applied pressure at every possible chance. Ausn nele found plenty of the ball once again. Cooper Walters tried hard all day and used his voice beer then anyone else and Hudson Nowak was solid at CHB. We now have some important games coming up we need to win to stay in touch with the 4.

Junior Colts: A win we needed to get to put us into the top four. The whole team played their role in the win. Eli Sims was solid up forward kicking 4 goals, presented well and really seled the game up. Second best Coaden Taylor played deep in the second half, took some strong overhead marks and ended up kicking 4 goals. Tom Bowering had a steady game through the middle and centre half back, tackled well, and set up some good play Tom Atkinson was fourth best who also snagged a couple of goals!

A very big thank you to Shane and Macca for umpiring the scratch match last week between Kalangadoo and Nangwarry, it was very much appreciated. Also a big thank you to all those who played the game in great spirits which allowed all the boys and girls to have a run. It is important to remember that all junior football somemes is not about the points but giving all those children a run and allowing them to have a go. Tonight following the game we will be holding Nangchella. If you have not got a cket catch up with Tamara and she will help. The night looks to be fun!

Under 11: With a few away and depleted numbers thanks to Kalangadoo for lending us a few players to make a game of it. Each week we go well and this was no excepon. In a close game they can all really hold their heads high about how they play the game. Well done kids and keep geng out there!

Junior Colts: Great outcome this weekend for under 14s, great to get back on the winners list. Shout out to Kdoo lending us 2 players each quarter to give us even numbers. It was a real arm wrestle for most of the game breaking even for the first half, being down a goal at 3qtr me and then running out to a 2 goal lead in the 4th to seal the win. Our main focus today was to try and generate some scoring opportunies and some run off halack. It was good to see the boys take it on board and execute well. Our mids and backs worked really together to not only defend but launch us into aack as well and give the forwards some opportunity What's really pleasing to see is when we play well we play well as an enre group, meaning no passengers today Everyone was involved one way or another and had some sort of impact on the final result. Encouragement award went to young Leon, stepping into a fullback role this week and didn't miss a beat.

Senior Colts: Nothing brings a club more joy than a happy bunch of boys who rock up each week to play a game of footy with their mates. We look forward to hearing your tunes pumping and the banter before the game. As a club we were proud of all 13 senior colt players who turned up ready to play against the odds, you were all happy to just be having a run.

Well done to the 8 boys who played a half for Kdoo and gave it their all having some fun at the same me. The banter between brothers making a few laugh on the sidelines. A big thanks also to all the junior colt boys who joined in and had a run too.

B Grade: What a day to play football. Kalangadoo got the jump on us in the first quarter leading 4 goals to one but aer that we had more of the ball but just couldn't convert.

Congratulaons to Bennet and Calais on playing both the boys played a fantasc when they went on. The injury to Trent we had to make a few changes and one was Blake to centre half back and he did a fantasc job. The boys in the middle baled they guts out. With the loss that puts us out of the four so we must beat the Bay this weekend and get back in the four. Best Scoy, BJ, Smithy, Hayden Jolly, Chunder, and a special menon to Calais for his effort on having a BOUNCE and kicking a goal. Goals Blake 1, Josh 1, Calais 1. Go the Saints!

A Grade: On a day that was well and truly suited for ducks we came up against a full strength and very experienced Kalangadoo side that has strung together 5 wins out of their last 5 oungs. However throughout the game we did control the ball with good passages of play but were unable to convert our opportunies going forward. As the game got longer the weather condions connued to worsen and made the state of play very tough going which suited the bigger bodied opposion. From a coaching perspecve it was an interesng day with the opportunity to play players in posions unfamiliar to them and to give some of our young players some game me gaining valuable experience. We cannot queson the integrity of this group and although the condions were not favourable our young group did not back away from the challenge and connued to work hard unl the very end doing the Nangwarry Football Club and supporters proud. Best players for day were Logan Gibbs, Brody Parsons, Jack Pudney, Ty Dinnison, Ma Pra, and Josh Weedon.

This week we are back home in Nangwarry playing host to Port MacDonnell and we look forward to the challenge.

football club notes

Mini Colts: Due to Mt Burr not having an U11 side, the kids were keen to sll get out on the field and have a kick. So we invited any Mt Burr players to joins us in a internal game. The boys showed great sportsmanship by including the 5 Mt Burr players in the game and had fun playing against each other. Best players sponsored by Subway were Jace Smith, Kade Grosvenor, Taj Vandepeer, Max Wilson, Zachary Howard and Ausn Hopgood.

Junior Colts: Once again we come up against an undermanned Mt Burr. We had several kids put their hand up to go across and play for them so that we could get a good hit out. With 7 players going over each half we managed to get a really good game of footy in. The atude of our players is amazing and something we can be proud of. Their endeavour to contest regardless of what side they play on is brilliant. The fact that we were able to play such a compeve game meant we had all players involved and geng valuable touches which hopefully develops all our players in the team sooner During the game we saw plenty of free flowing play with good ball movement and skill level. It’s pleasing to see the work being done at training is paying off. Thanks to the Mt Burr coaching and support staff for their kind words aer the game thanking our team for their assistance and atudes throughout the game. Encouragement Award winners this week were Naite Fox, Tyler Neale, Brody Pra and Gracie Carroll.

Senior Colts: Aer leng one slip last week, we welcomed Mt Burr to our home ground for what was going to be a tough bale. With average condions looming, our boys got back to their game right from the outset. A big change in intent from last week, tackles scking and geng the score on the board gave us a good start being 5.4 to 0.0 at quarter me. Lincoln Bowd managed one of the goals of the year in what was a miraculous effort. The guys connued the hard work in the next quarter, scoring 2 goals into a sff breeze seng up the 3rd quarter where we were able to put the game away. Final score 66-16. Best players sponsored by the Whan Family were Kai Gilmore who showed what he is capable of, even aer a week of footy away in Adelaide, Luke Richards played like Luke Richards, Jack Kain had a job and completed it successfully, being solid in defence all day, Riley Morgan did usual Riley Morgan things, Pay Robinson worked relessly across the backline and much to his disgust Jacob Spehr was reliable at full back, using his strengths on the last line. Also a special menon to Casey Wilson who along with Kai Gilmore spent the week in Adelaide playing for Glenelg country You have done the club proud boys. Onto Nangwarry this week!

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 7.10 def Mt Burr 2.4. Welcome to the Bay! … with a nip in the air, rain on the radar and the weather as predictable as a mid-year Xmas sale, it was Sponsors Day at the club. We welcomed many of our long-standing patrons and benefactors with Christmas like zeal (roast lunch and a lot of drinks!) and like the movie “Love Actually” you can almost see the red wring counng down the weeks to go unl the big event! FINALS! With a good poron of our main actors not in the film this week it could almost be a countdown to “4 Weddings and a Funeral!” Yep! There are only 5 weeks le to this season (where did THAT go?) and we are sll dallying around the middle of the ladder with 4 big teams to beat and a bye thrown in for good measure. The boys rallied under interim coach Ron “Ol' St Nick” O'Dine in a game that was a 50% bet the lads could get a lump of coal in their stockings instead of a toy but they put their bodies on the line me and me again never allowing the Mozzies to get into a rhythm. On the naughty and nice list, Grady Hutchesson got the E-bicycle and helmet (BOG award) from under the tree while Nathan Brotherton, got a

remote-control car. Both boys dominated throughout the game not only with their ruck workload but their marking ability under pressure and their gutsy efforts in keeping the ball moving into our forward lines was a true “Joyeux Noel”. A Tricycle each for Senior colt Alex Lamb and Isaac Narass (3rd and 4th best respecvely) whose sheer tenacity in the packs and unfailing endeavor on the ball in the back lines got us out of trouble more than once or twice! Morgan Feast also gets to collect a Model Kit of a Landcruiser (to go with the big DIY job he's sll working on!) for his efforts around the back pockets pushing the ball up the line and stopping the Mt B boys as they tried to gain ground along the flanks. While a few of the team might feel “Home Alone” (overlooked) there are a good number of you who will find a toy in their stocking. The prodigal son returned in Chris “Screwy” Driver was a welcome addion to the fesvies, kicking the first goal of the game while Ma “Mortal” Stark found “The Holly and The Ivy” with a double. Santa's helpers, Grady Hutchesson, Ben “Elf” Newton, Nathan “B Good” Brotherton and Senior colt Jacob “Polar Express” Spehr all kicked a single each. Congratulaons to Connor Twomey on reaching his 50th game with the club and Benny Mac for surviving his cameo as the old neighbour in this piece… you sll have the nsel! And it was encouraging to see Ethan Perryman-Cary, Nathan Tilley, Kurs Lasle, Mason Brown, Braden Tilley and Jordan Carrison all step up and earn a slice of Xmas pudding and a chance to find a sixpence. Well, with the pressies sorted, the lunch menu planned all we have to worry about is who will turn up (to train & to play)... and whether we get to put our star on the top of the tree! Just remember, Nangwarry is full of pines! Ho, ho, ho!

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 13.11 def Mt Burr 8.5. Welcome to the Bay as all roads led to Port MacDonnell with our annual Sponsor's Day. May I take this opportunity to thank all of our Major and Family Sponsors, without their generosity we would not have a club or the facility we have today. With the weather being reasonably kind for this me of the year the ground was sll looking prey good considering the foot traffic earlier in the day. With quite a few out due to injury, work or holiday we knew it would be a difficult fight right from the first bounce, and the Mt Burr boys were ready to shake up the top of the ladder. Literally! It was a close first half with only 11 points the difference at the half me break. Historically, our matches have always been volale and last Saturday was no excepon. Disciplined play steadied our course as white line fever started to creep into the game. B.O G. Coach Josh Woodall led by example, cung his way through the packs in the centre and delivering the ball forward with speed and accuracy. Tim Sullivan earned a silver medal for his efforts in controlling the ruck wherever needed and taking those big grabs while Will Macdonald is recovering from injury. Kyall McClean, Zack Williams and Tom Sullivan mopped up the packs, constantly moving the ball along the flanks while Colby Munro had a field day in the forward lines kicking 3 goals. 2 apiece from Josh Woodall and Ethan Gladman kept the score rolling along with singles from Jake Schleter, Alex Ridding, Kev Thomson, Zac Williams (sneaking one in from the pocket!), Luke Pitson and Jack Cawthorne (on loan from B grade). Once again our senior colts, Luke Richards and Riley Morgan stepped up to the plate and took on their fair share of the workload being instrumental in stoppages later in the game. It's great to see their courage in the face of somemes a more “full-bodied” opposion and me in the A Grade is reflected in beer play in their Seniors team. Next is Nangwarry, and while the ladder is in our favour we must never take it for granted when club pride is on the line. Train hard to play hard Demons!

footy smarts. Well done guys and gals let's keep improving.

Senior Colts: Last week seen us travel to Nangwarry to try and keep our undefeated season going. With a few guys unavailable last week, we were looking to start well and put pressure on Nangas. To the guys credit they played some really selfless football, and used each other all day to set up a really big win. Really proud of the way the guys went about last weekend, with a lot of magnets being moved around and a lot of posional changes, they always give their best. Best players were Blake, Brauny, Cade, Shaunn and Braydn. Well done lads.

junior colts

Under 11: Last week we played Nangwarry, another great day by the young fellas, with each game pung in 110% I couldn't be happier! Best players were RoryFasta Pasta, Billy BrownMcDonalds and Lawson - Wendy's.

Junior Colts: We went to Nangwarry last week and were greeted by lovely weather. Our boys and girls have been training well and we have a goal of improving from the first round against every side we play. It is very pleasing to have done that in our first few games and aer losing to Nangwarry in round one to come out and have a convincing win was reward for all our work on the track. Best player went to Darcy who played a ripper first game and we will be trying to get him back in the future. Second to Kobe Bromley who kicked 5 great goals and worked hard up the ground. Third best was Kaden Bell who is playing some great footy in both junior and senior colts. Summer and Jake Bevan were fourth and fih doing what they do for us every week and sixth best went to Harley Chapple who is growing in confidence and starng to show great skills and

Reserves: Last week we travelled to Nangwarry on a sunny warm day Leading up to half me, unfortunately the boys ran out of legs and Nangwarry cruised in for the win. Best player went to Ma Nelson for his running all day and aack at the ball. Other bests were Marky Bell, Nick Cory, Adam Mulraney and Hamish Thompson

A Grade: Last week we ventured down to the home of the Saints with some great weather for footy. Both teams have had a few weeks off due to byes and were fresh. We knew it was going to be a tough one but we were confident we could do it. We both started well with plenty of opportunies but the Saints were right on our tails prevenng us from breaking away at the start. In our last quarter we got on top though, playing beer team footy and capitalising on our great team play, allowing us to break free. Coming away with the win, the boys did great and we had some awesome passages of play. Well done Tigers and let's keep up the hard work! 4 wins from the last 5 it's been a while the Tiger army has achieved this. Best in no order Cam Saint, Jack Dawe, Darcy Pink, Troy Ha, Braydn Reilly

football club notes

Aer a few weeks away from Magpie Park it was good to be back as we welcome our neighbour in the Saints it what looked to be a promising day for the club as the run to the finals begins to gain momentum for our 2 senior sides and the ever-connuing development of our Junior Footy shows more light each week.

It was a perfect morning for footy with the weather looking to hold off as the Mini’s got the day underway as the do each week. With plenty of numbers the sides were evened up by loaning a few a cross to the Saints in order to make a game of it. It’s hard to believe the age of some of these juniors as they look to play beyond their years and over the next couple of years will see these players running around in, strung their stuff in Junior Colts.

senior colts

junior colts

Junior Colts: With almost a full side to choose from minus our captain in Joe Box and with Nangwarry being a lile short Macca loaned a couple of players across to make sure everyone got plenty of game me. Across the ground looked to be very even across every line and looked to come down to geng 1st use of the ball and looking to use the space to advantage. The 1st half was a real tough and even affair with neither of the sides able to get a run on with the defences of both sides connually repelling the ball meaning only 1 goal each scored up unl half me. The second half started to open up with the young Maggies geng the beer of the play and really playing some good team footy to be up by a straight kick going into the final quarter. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get our hands on enough of the ball during the last and the young Saints managed to get a run on to end up with a 12 point win. Best players went to Lachy McCann, Mason Meulenmeesters, Je Lennon, Elodie Burr & Jack DowdellSajevec.

Senior Colts: With both sides a bit short on numbers there was no official game but with both clubs working together we sll managed a scratch match allowing some addional Juniors to play up and importantly game me for the senior colts. The game itself was played in good spirits with quality ball movement from both sides, plenty of smiles and enjoyment had and for a couple of lads was a chance to kick their first majors in footy. You couldn’t control Tommys excitement when Dean & Ryder both sloed a couple of majors during the game and Luba’s pockets are a lile lighter! Well down to all the lads in helping Dean & Ryder achieve this as we saw them walk a lile taller aer the game.

B Grade: Aer a defeat last me we played Nangwarry the Pies B Grade boys knew that they would have to be at their best if we were to turn the tables and ensure we stayed in contenon for a top two finish. Aer some wet condions greeted the players the Pies through the

efforts of Des West and Tom Jerome were able to ensure that the Saints had limited scoring shots, whilst at the other end Mitch Varcoe was able to provide a really strong forward opon. Mitch has been in great form, and this has been reflected on the scoreboard. Brad male played well in the ruck and was able to give the likes of Jacob Simmonds, Tyler Jones and Gus Widdison first use. Looking forward to another tough contest this week against Tantanoola who are always difficult to beat at their home.

A Grade: With only the one late change for Lynsey’s chargers its was business as usual with seng about the connual path towards the business end of the season and geng structures in place. Aer the rains had set in during the Ressies soening the oval up meaning was going to be a tough slower game than the what the morning had promised. As it turned out this didn’t slow a couple of our webbed feet midfielders early in the 1st with Tye, Lachy & Brad finding plenty of the ball especially from Haysey supply 1st use and geng the Maggies off to the perfect start with a 6 goal 1st term whilst our defence being miserly and holding the Saints to only 3 behinds. The second was almost idencal to the 1st with maggies finding 1st use of the ball but probably didn’t quite capitalise enough on the F50 entries as the Saints stepped up their defensive efforts to try and slow the scoreboard damage. Going in at the half with a 71 point lead in a wet heavy day showing we are able to adapdt our game style to condions yet not loose the overall structure made Lynsey pleased at the main break. The 3rd quarter turned out to be a bit more of a slog as the Saints managed to score their last 2 majors for the day while we really lied our intensity around the ball and on the ball carrier allowing plenty of the ball to our forwards but through some inaccurate kicking managed 5.4 for the quarter. The last was always going to be a tough game with the oval having seen the beer for the day but was easily the best quarter of footy for the Maggies as they cked all the key areas Lynsey wanted focused on meaning the scoreboard cked over constantly to register 9.4 for the quarter and a 150point final margin. Best players were tough to pick for the coaching panel as everyone played their part but ended up with Tye McManus, Lachie Jones, Liam Hay, Dylan Bromely, Nick Jenkin & Brad Auld.

This week we head over the hill to take on the ever improving Tant Tigers on their home deck in what we know will be a tough fought 4 quarter bale.

Don’t forget the Goods & Service Aucon on this Sunday at the Club from 12noon. There’s plenty on offer with an evergrowing list and always a fun day to be part of. Thank you to everyone who has put their hand up in donang towards the aucon.

Junior Colts: Well, it was another hard day at the office. Similar to the previous week; for various reasons we had a significant number of players unavailable. We were spread a bit thinly. Having said that, the young guys who played up, really did themselves proud. No one could queson their enthusiasm and commitment. Actually credit must be given to all of our players for doing their best, that is all we can ask. Their efforts resulted in a good number of forward entries; unfortunately they were not deep enough to always make an impression on the scoreboard, therefore we were not really able to challenge the young Eagles. This is something that we will work on during the week, as well as moving the ball on more quickly, regardless of where it is on the oval.

Congratulaons to the Hatherleigh boys, they were quick, clean, and played a good ‘team brand’ of footy Aer the game as usual we had a chat about things that we did well and things that we need to improve. The boys were reminded to stay strong, posive, of the importance to persist, and to make sure that we support each other. The lads considered to be our beer players (as always not necessarily in order) were: John Hinchliffe, Flynn Collins, Conrad Beae, Eli Jess, Nate Allen, Daniel Hayes, and Boodah.

Senior Colts: Looking forward to capitalising on our great win last week, we were hoping to get another win against a top 4 side to give our

finals berth a chance. Condions were horrendous, similar to a pigs trough is how muddy the ground was. The boys knew what was at stake, and they turned up ready to play. All I asked was a 4 quarter disciplined effort and that is what I got. The boys played the best they have all year. Very enjoyable win over last year’s reigning premiers. Best players Max Robertson, Kaiden Carter, Jimmy Murch, Flynn Peel and Mason McKenny. Incenves went to Ethan Carter and Mason McKenny. Look forward to taking on Glencoe at home.

A Grade: The team that best adapted to the wet weather and muddy oval condions at Hatherleigh would be the winner of the A Grade match on Saturday and the Eagles were the team who did this and ran out comfortable winners. The Roosters struggled all day to get the ball past its half forward line and hit the scoreboard. It wasn’t as a result of lack of effort, everyone in the team put their body on the line and gave 100%. Robe players had difficulty making good wet weather decisions and struggled to follow the coaches’ instrucons while Hatherleigh had a plan, stuck to it and won the match. There were standout players for Robe in Lawrie, Dunn, Duon, Robertson, Regnier, Mahews and Wachtel, however their best work was done backward of centre. Glencoe next week and the Roosters need to get back on the winners list.

Last week we welcomed Kongorong to the Mecca stadium for Round 13 acon. The weather was cold and dark for most of the day but compared to some other venues we avoided most of the rain. Our Home Game Major Sponsor was Vitality Personal Training Studio. Thankyou to all our amazing sponsors and the work they do. It was a very busy week for the club with the Glencoe community celebrang 50 years since the opening of our current clubrooms. Ted Peacock and Peter Mitchell Jnr cut a ceremonial cake to honour the club's history. We also held our annual goods and services aucon Saturday night. Thanks to Dane Paproth for organising the event. Plenty of goods were donated and lots of money was raised, so we appreciate all the donaons and me people put into this event. During our bye round we also held our annual 50-club event. This was a very successful day with Ethan Bronca being the final number drawn. Finally, we were saddened by the passing of club life-member, legend, and 9-me premiership player Alan 'Kanga' Medhurst. A minute's silence was held in his honour before the A Grade match on the weekend and all our thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Junior Colts: The Junior Colts connued their hot streak beang the 3rd placed side convincingly, sing top of the table. Although the boys did not kick very straight in front of the goals, we were in command all game and had control of the ball. Some more accuracy would have made the score line look a bit beer for our side. The final score being 4.14.38 to 0.3.3. Best players were Kade Mulraney, Sam Haase, Tighe Hurley, Kallan Price, Blake Gosden and Harley Dale.

Senior Colts: The Senior Colts connue to show great improvement and challenge sides above them. The rain came down during their game, and it was their opposion who struggled to kick

straight for most of the game. A few winnable games are coming soon, and the boys will be looking to finish the year strong. The final score being 3.2.20 to 6.14.50. Best players were Lachy Brierley, Digby Richards-Fennell, Kallan Price, Bailey Rothall, Declan Mutch and Kaleb Price. A shout out must also go to Lachlan Brierley who was selected in the Glenelg U15 intrastate Country side. He went to Adelaide all week and was able to challenge himself daily against teenagers from across the state. Some of these players will enter the SANFL system next year and play AFL in the next few years. Well done Lachy, keep at it.

B Grade: Aer a couple of weeks off I thought the Reserves might be close to a full-strength side but it was the same story with sll a fair few lads missing with injury or unavailability. The guys who did suit up played a really good first half and challenged with great intensity and pressure. Unfortunately, we ran out of legs in the second half, and they scored quite easily. A few unavailable players in the seniors didn't help also, but hopefully the reserves will get close to a full squad as they have some winnable games coming up. The final score was 0.5.5 to 12.19.91. Best players were Ben Weedon, Ben Curran, Josh Agars, Dillan Young, Shannon Megaw and Chris Adams.

A Grade: The Seniors finally got back on the winners list aer a series of losses. A blitzing first quarter saw us kick 7 goals to 1. In the 2nd term we got too complacent and let Kongorong right back in it as they levelled the score at half me. Aer the main break we got back to playing a beer pressure style of football and were able to score from our quick inside 50 entries. We ended up running away with a 24.13.157 to 15.10.100 win. Best players were Zacc Cocks, Tom Edwards, Dylan Pfitzner, Tory Weaver, Henry Smith and Dylan Childs.

The long trip to Robe this weekend. See you at the footy!

club games 300 kim ross

robe netball club

A massive milestone for Robe tball Club legend with 300 ames for Kim Ross when Robe s Glencoe this weekend at home.

RA club member who connues y good hard netball, give ommiee over and beyond, nues to kick goals in oaching and umpiring, and now also presenng solid ons at league level. It is t has this girl not done….” I think she lives red and white. Her passion for the club is one of the best.

y chance, a new family holiday house that oen brought the ers to Robe on weekends, o Kim to start playing U15s or the Roosters, and she never ed back. Kim played her t A Grade game in 1997 as a ear old under Alison Nunan.

Her journey as a netballer gave ountless opportunies at oaching roles, in both junior and senior levels, and Kim nues to improve her skills aining coaching editaon. I'd take a wild guess that her most memorable moment was being Coach and ain of the 2003 A Reserve emiership side.

e's some stats… the olades start at being ed in the B Grade MSE side in 2004, A Grade MSE eam in 2013 and MSE Top 10 Player in both 2010 and 2013. A Grade Club Best & Fairest in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2013 and runner up in 2010. Best in Finals 2010 and Coach's Trophy

in 2012. In her first year in A Ressies, Kim won Best & Fairest not only in the club, but in the League.

Kim secured her C Grade Umpiring Badge in 2022.

Then there is her Robe Netball Club Commiee achievements. Kim has been President of the Roosters for a staggering 10 years, and during her voyage has taken on other roles such as sponsorship, junior coordinator, vice president, sports and recreaon rep and a plethora of social commiee events and end of year presentaon nights. She was deservedly rewarded with the Club Merit Award in 2011 and most recently a Life Membership in 2019.

This has not stopped the girl's passion for the sport as Kim ups the ante at league level taking on the role of assistant secretary and pung her hand up to coach the A Grade MSE representave two years in a row

Not only has Kim excelled at her achievements, most of them run concurrently during a netball season. She will be president, coach, player and league rep all at once… because that's what you do.

A wealth of knowledge with a “let's give it a go” atude, Kim always has the club's and member's best interests at heart, and I cannot imagine her slowing down any me soon.

Congratulaons on your 300!

Mount Burr vs Hatherleigh

Mount Burr host Hatherleigh in what is set to be the match of the round. Madi Hagge has recently returned to the Mount Burr side and her presence in the defensive circle when combined with Olivia Dean has had a massive impact for the Mozzies. Hatherleigh’s Demi Vanderhorst and Maddie Pulmer work in unison in the goal circle, being fed well from outside by Erin Watson and Rosie Nele. Down the other end of the court Mount Burr’s accurate goalies Ebony Clark and Lauren Wheeler combine well in the goal circle. Laura Schultz and Ella Easterby have strong drives to the circle and feed into their goalies with accuracy. Hatherleigh’s Maddie Redman and Elly Redden will fight hard to create intercepts for the Eagles, chasing up any loose balls and feeding them back down the court. This game is sure to be close, however Hatherleigh will likely finish the game with the win.

Nangwarry vs Port MacDonnell

The Demons head down to Nangwarry to face off against the Saints at Nangwarry in round fourteen. Port MacDonnell’s Megan Hein and Kori Collins combine well in the goal circle, moving and shoong with accuracy. Nangwarry’s Kayla Gray and Chrystal Lock will apply pressure in the defensive circle for the Saints, working any turnovers back down the court with help from Carly Ploenges and Claire Ferguson. The Bay’s defenders Alana Berkefeld and Alysha Coon are able to create pressure and force errors form their opponents, converng balls down the court through Liza Mutch and Shannon Scheidl. Nangwarry goalies Hayley Vanderhorst and Tahlia Wilson will work overme in the goal circle for the Saints, needing to score off as many opportunies as possible to limit the score line. Port MacDonnell will finish the day with the win; however, the Saints won’t go down without a fight.

Tantanoola vs Kalangadoo

Tantanoola host the undefeated Magpies on Saturday. Kalangadoo’s goalie combinaon of Abbey Duncan and Ebony McDiarmid has proven to be a strong point for their team, with both players shoong with accuracy throughout the circle, however they will be under strong defence from Tantanoola’s Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe. Kate Varcoe for the Tigers and Jayde Peacock for the Magpies will have a good tussle through the midcourt, with both players fighng to gain possession for their respecve team. Varcoe combines well with Jami Walker as they feed into their goalies Emma Gould and Keryl Ousey from outside the circle. Kalangadoo’s Lauren Kain and Lara Munro fight hard to gain possession and will put the pressure on for Tant’s goalies, snatching up any loose balls or rebounds. Kalangadoo will come away with the win but Tantanoola will not go easy.

Robe vs Glencoe

Glencoe head down to Robe to face off against the Roosters in wet condions. Robe will need to ulise every chance that they have, scoring with every opportunity through Demi Carter and Tori Gluyas. Glencoe defenders Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen are a strong combinaon, forcing errors and creang turnovers which will be worked down the court under the guidance of Donna Jaeschke into goalies Chantelle Cocks and Jenna Paproth. Robe defenders Georgia Perkins and Emma Grant will need to work overme in order to limit the scoring opportunies of Cocks and Paproth, fighng for every intercept, supported from outside of the circle by Ellen Ramke and Annie Regnier. Both teams will be fighng for the win, however Glencoe will finish the game with the win.

Thanks to our major sponsors - Your Choice Conveyancing, J & M Shanks Engineering, ACM Plumbing, South East Property, Acky's Deli, Lowndes Abrasive Blasng, Laura and Vicki Hair

Junior 2: In windy and wet condions, you girls showed just how well you work together as a team. We had fantasc ball movement down the court and used loud voices when calling for the ball. I was so impressed with our defensive pressure, creang turnovers and scking on our players. Our shoong was excellent considering the weather and it was great to see you passing the ball around in the circle to get each other involved. The Millicent Toy Kingdom award went to Lacey who chased down and fought for every ball that she could and shot the ball with confidence. The Donut King award went to Scarle who played awesome in defence and used encouraging words to cheer on the team. The Zambrero's award went to Zariah who worked hard on moving in front and has shown great improvements within her game.

Junior 1: Great game today girls in cold, wet and wintery condions. You all played so well as a team and it was great to see much less stepping. We had some great defensive efforts and everyone gave 100% chasing up lost balls. We are so proud of you all. Awards went to Wren (Wendy's) for her determinaon in defence and Bella (Donut King) for her great movement in aack, resulng in lots of goals shot. Thanks to Macy for umpiring and everything you do to help each Saturday; we all appreciate you so much.

13 & Under: Bad luck girls. We played in wet condions and we need to adapt to that weather. Our court play needs to be spread out and have vision for each other. Taking that extra step to meet the ball will make it easier geng the ball down the court. Well done on keeping your heads up and playing the game out for 4 quarters, which is great to see. Lets work hard at training and we will keep improving. Thanks to Jay for scoring and Bec for umpiring. Awards went to Denton's Sportspower – Sophie and Café Melzar - Emily

15 & Under: Great game today girls in cold, wet and wintery condions.

17 & Under: In wet condions, you seled into the game and made changes when required to suit the condions. Once again your defence all over the court was a highlight. It is a joy to watch the way you are combining as a team and that you adapt to changes in the game. Our shoong was superb in difficult condions, helped by the way our mid court players fed the ball. Our circle defenders made it difficult for Pt Mac goalies and forced turnovers to help us maintain a lead. It is always difficult to come into the game from the bench, but every player that did this today, played their role and was included and encouraged by those on court.

Congratulaons Ashlee on a strong game at GS to win the Sports Power award and Ella with leadership and determinaon

through the centre (and GD) to win the Laura and Vicki voucher. Thanks to Laura for umpiring and Sienna for scoring. Another tough game this week. Let's connue to work hard on the track to keep improving. Your ability to pracce skills and bring it into the game is making a difference to the team.

B Reserve: Well done girls, a great game from start to finish. Our pressure all over the court created many turnovers and we finish them off strongly. Great shoong from all goalies and great to see when we have a new player into the team, we work well with them. The defence end is working well together and turning many balls. Welcome to the team Ava, a big thanks from all us. A hugh thanks to Sara for all your support sing bench. Thanks to Madi for scoring and Lisa for umpiring. Awards went to Zali – Dentons Sportspower and Emily – Laura & Vicki Hair Designers.

B Grade: Bad luck girls again this week at Pt Mac, even though we didn't come away with the win it's great to see us playing as a side together. Our ming has improved and we are implemenng what we have been praccing at training! There was lots more talk on court and less congeson in the mid court. We held our own and kept our cool during a rough game and that allowed us four strong quarters. Awards this week went to Breanna Gray and Charloe Shaw. Thanks to Karen for scoring and Heidi for umpiring.

A Reserve: Well what a tough day down the bay. We came up against an in-form Port Mac side. Our defence had their work cut out and performed great, never giving up and working hard with many turn overs. The mid court girls worked relessly and our goalies preformed well under pressure and in the wet and wintry condions. Lots of effort unfortunately not the result we would have hoped for aer coming off a great game last week. Thanks to Kelly for umpiring and Sam for scoring. Awards: Since 56 – Leila, Fasta Pasta - Lilly

A Grade: Saturday had us down at the Bay in classic cold, wet and slippery winter condions. We played a great team game! We started our game off with intensity and confidence throughout all posions on the court. Our composure and focus for all four quarters of the game enabled us to take home the well earned win on the day. Laura's leadership and direcon on court is proving to be the li the team needs to take us to the next level to win games. Ella's pace and athlec ability combined with her ability to read the play and Laura's high work rate meant they were able to Take valuable intercepons for the goalies to convert on the scoreboard. Their paence and precision passing into the goal circle is improving out of sight. The goalies Ebony and Ashlee found their groove early on in the game and connued to work the ball round the circle well to gain the best possible posion to shoot from with accuracy They held their own in the goal circle for all four quarters in such a physical game. Well done girls! Maddi and Olivia's combinaon together and the determinaon to succeed is enjoyable to watch, turnovers, intercepons and rebounds were converted from the high intensity pressure they put on their opponents. Great job girls. Awards this week went to sisters Ashlee and Olivia, great game girls! Well done team! Thank you to all scorers, umpires and mers for the day

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Today's teamwork was fantasc, you girls all listened and applied what we have been learning at training focusing on our body posioning while shoong and shoulder passes. Our communicaon is building, and we are geng beer at steadying our feet and balancing up when we have the ball in our hands. Our defence worked hard to stay in front of their players, creang pressure and causing turnovers. Awards: Myla Bowman (Beggs, Bean & Bar), Luca Bateman (HLC), Maggie Mahews (Corner Clip).

Junior 1: A strong effort this week. Our stability to adapt quickly to the umpire's decision was posive, this allowed us to capitalise on any turnovers. Our shoong technique is geng beer every week, and so is our accuracy. We reoffered lots when aacking and drove strongly out of defence. We have great vision down the court and are connuing to be paent with our passing opons. The work rate of all eight players today was above and beyond, chasing hard for the loose balls and not giving their opponents an inch.

Awards: Sienna Varcoe (Macca's – Mt Gambier), Charloe Chambers (Beggs, Bean & Bar), Kirby Carruthers (HLC), Kaia Green (Beggs, Bean & Bar).

13 & Under: Hatherleigh (49) def Robe (11). We adjusted well to the wet condions, playing a solid and strong first half of netball. Our defensive pressure excellent all over the court; we are really applying the skills learnt at training into our game play, which is posive to see. At both ends we rebounded strongly, which gave us more shoong opportunies. We have great vision when moving the ball down the court, but sll need to keep praccing releasing the ball quickly and out in front (to where the ball is going). Thank you to Leyla and Kirby for sing bench again this week. Awards: Tilly Prouse (Macca's – Mt Gambier), Alirah Bowman (HLC), Sienna Clark (Beggs, Bean & Bar).

15 & Under: Hatherleigh (50) def Robe (16). Was great to have everyone back this week for the first me in a long me. Aer a bit of a scrappy start the girls played some great netball with really good passages of play all the way down the court. We need to remember to always back each other up on court and adjust to the umpires. Sylvie played a great game in goals moving well and shoong with accuracy. Liv got her hands to many balls and picked off many passes that came her way. Awards: Sylvie Barlow (HLC), Olivia Beggs (Corner Clip), Chloe Bellinger (Macca's – Mt Gambier).

17 & Under: Hatherleigh (28) def by Robe (44). The girls went down 28-44 against Robe today. We had a few missing players, so we had to adjust to the changes. We thank Poppy, Hannah, and Chloe for sing bench and hing the court, you guys stepped up and did really well. The defensive end with Deni and Poppy did a really great job, taking some great intercepts and rebounds. However Robes defensive pressure made it tough for us to get the ball down the court. The girls kept going even with the weather seng in all game. Good effort girls. Awards: Poppy Fitzgerald (HLC), Deni Brown (Daisy Sun the Label), Ayrlie Chambers (Macca's – Mt Gambier).

B Reserve: Hatherleigh (81) def Robe (31). With the team sll crippled by injury and illness we were able to draw on young Kalli Nele to take the court and she played a stellar three quarters at WD, geng her hands to plenty, driving well out of defence, and providing a great back up opon going into aack. She made her WA work hard for every possession! We also welcomed back our captain Amy. From the way she played you wouldn't have known that she'd missed a number of games due to injury and being away Amy played a very strong game at WA with great vision and passing into aack and also applying pressure down the court. Our ever reliable Nic got her hands to plenty with some mely intercepts that helped to give us more opportunity to score. Extremely accurate shoong by Melita and Eliza saw us take a handy lead at the first break. The messages from the coaches at quarter me were quickly put into acon on the court with all over the court defensive pressure causing many a held ball and turnover. Melita and Eliza were moving and working together like a dream, being well fed by Amy and Nat, and keeping the scoreboard cking over at a cracking pace. Kalli, Nic and Fiona worked well together to limit Robes opportunies to score. With a lot more of the ball we were able to extend the lead at half me to be up 39-20. A couple of changes at half me brought on Sarah into GK and Sally into C. Both seled quickly into the game and made their mark. Sarah staying ght on her GS and Sally providing great drive and passes into aack. Melita and Eliza connued to shoot with accuracy, and all players applied defensive pressure down the court to turn the ball over and make goals hard to come by for Robe. Another couple of changes going into the last brought Fi on out at GD and Nat at WD. Both players sloed straight back in and all players connued to play with the high work rate and defensive pressure to further extend the lead. It was great to see all the plays from training be put

into acon. Every player stood up and did what was asked, making for two very proud coaches. Let's keep the momentum going and commit to what we do at training – as the saying goes 'train hard, play hard'! Awards: Amy Haines (Somerset Hotel), Melita Thwaites (HS&RC), Kalli Nele (Since-Fiy-Six).

B Grade: Hatherleigh (39) def by Robe (47). Condions were again tesng on court today, with a wet and miserable Hatherleigh home game marking round 13 of the 2023 mid-south east netball season. Our girls jumped out of the blocks, guns blazing with a number of quick and accurate goals from a couple of star shooters in Hayley and Ellie. These two shooters played like champions throughout the game, working together and both shoong confidently and accurately with only two missed goals between the pair at quarter me, scoring 18 goals to Robes 8. Jas was back in C aer a nasty fall in round 11 sustaining an ankle injury and you would never have thought she was carried off the court by her team mates only a few weeks ago! She played her usual high intensity netball, moving quickly around the court, creang opportunies to move the ball through the midcourt supported by Meg in WA. Together they successfully fed balls to the shooters who didn't disappoint. Hatherleigh was on the aack in the first half of the game sustaining their nine goal lead by the end of the second quarter placing themselves in the perfect posion to capitalise on what seemed like an absent Robe team at the half me mark. The third quarter brought changes to both sides with Hatherleigh bringing Eliza on in the GA posion and Demi in WD. A few lost scoring opportunies created a bit of unselement in the Hatherleigh camp, allowing Robe to regain momentum and capitalise on our drop in intensity and slowly the nine goal margin started to decline in Robes favour. An unfortunate incident outside the Robe goal circle caused Georgia to fall and having to come off the court to be substuted by Ella to GK. Ella transioned smoothly and played an impressive defensive game which she does so well, supported by Sophie and Demi holding up the Hatherleigh defence in what was changing into a scrappy game of netball from both teams trying to gain the upper hand. Robe connued to narrow the margin with accurate and consistent shoong from their goalies resulng in an even score at three quarter me. The fourth quarter started at 34 goals each, Hatherleigh brought Ellie back on in GA and switched to a more defensive game plan in response to Robes constant aack, which was becoming increasingly more aggressive and 'on the body' nearing the end of the game further unseling Hatherleigh's momentum. Some impressive intercepons from Sophie, Jas and Ella helped to ease the pain as Robe connued to dominate by pung points on the board. Thank you to Sarah Eccles-Smith for scoring and Stacey Bellinger for me keeping. Awards: Hayley Bell (Somerset Hotel), Meg Gray (HS&RC), Ellie Cook (Since-Fiy-Six).

A Reserve: Hatherleigh (27) def by Robe (46). Just one of those days that started badly before we even took the court with disrupons, not being warmed up properly as a team and last minute changes we started the game of prey average. Our first half we had way too many passing errors in the mid-court and our aack end, at the other end of the court our defence end worked hard to give us opportunies. Our third quarter was much beer, we minimised our errors and gave many more opportunies to our goalies to only lose the quarter by one, but we couldn't quite match with Robe in the last quarter. Big thank you to Keely for ming at the last minute and thanks to Liv and Grace for the dues they do every week. Awards: Millie Smith (HS&RC), Sarah Broadhead (SinceFiy-Six), Eliza Mewe (Somerset Hotel).

A Grade: Hatherleigh (54) def Robe (41). We came out with intensity and were playing for each other with all seven players playing with plenty of confidence in each other. We yet again hit the court missing a player in Elly but to the girls credit we just got on with the job. Mads P and Dem moved and shot well again with great defensive pressure if we lost it. Rosie had yet again a physical game but played another super consistent game with great release and feeds into the goalies. Erin's work rate was impressive not giving an inch in defence and always an opon in aack. Tegan worked relessly and had a great tussle against her WA, with great transions into aack. Larz and Mads R were rock solid in defence, coming up with turns despite playing against a good goalie combo. Super proud of our team effort today with our structure looking the goods and our intensity where it needs to be. A big thanks to Cate, Millie, and Imogen for sing bench and Anna, Kalli, Di, Liv & Chloe for covering all the jobs! Awards: Erin Watson (Since-Fiy-Six), Maddie Pulmer (Somerset Hotel), Demi Vanderhorst (HS&RC), Players Player – Maddie Pulmer

NETball club notes

A big well done to Amelia who was unable to find someone to umpire for her last week so gave it a go and from what I was told she did a great job. Umpires are hard to come by each week and as a club we really do love it when someone steps out of their comfort zone and gives it a go.

Congratulaons to Maddy who played her 50 senior games last week. Maddy is the definion of a real club person. She is the first to put her hand up when there is a job, umpires each week and happy to help others. She never asks for anything in return and always has a smile on her face. Thank you for all you do Maddy we look forward to watching your next 50.

Junior 2: This week we played at Kalangadoo, and we are glad that the weather held out for the girls to not get wet. All the girls played amazing this week. There were some great plays down the court, which resulted in scoring 3 goals this week, 2 goals by Mackenzie and 1 by Scarle. All 3 goals showed great teamwork! We rewarded Mia first best and Ariella second this week, but all the girls played so extremely well this week, one of the parents gave them all a special treat. It's great to see how much all the girls have improved throughout the season.

13 & Under: Tough game against Kalangadoo guys! It was great to see everyone give 100% for the enre game and not give up. We just need to remember to come in front and create space when wanng the ball. Best players went to Ruby and Izzy for all their hard work in defence.

15 & Under: Don't be too disheartened girls. Although not a great game by us, Kalangadoo are a very good side and we knew would be hard. We sll had players unwell which also didn't help. Thank you, Lucy, Darcy and Ella, for playing. You all did an amazing job. Let's regroup at training and be ready to switch on for game against Pt Mac.

17 & Under: Well that certainly wasn't the result we were hoping for. We had many passages of play that were great but Kdoo just wanted the win more and kept going when they were red which we struggle to do. Shooters worked hard with lots of movement in the circle. Mid court did as I asked and re-offered numerous mes which helped bring the ball down the court well. Defence worked relessly all game. With lots of intercepons and touches, making their goalies

work for every goal. The end of the season is nearing but we have so much more to give. Let's focus on being consistent all game and improve on games past. Best players Emily Timms, Eadie Mustart.

B Reserve: We all knew it was going to be a hard game missing our main GD Chloe with an injury, but Maddy, Amy and Jessie stepped up and did an amazing job keeping the heat on. Jessie once again you went out strong but today something was different you gave it 150% you tried new posions and kept posive throughout a very hard game well done, very deserving of best player this week. Well done to Davina running our C staying strong and keeping our game a level pace, Kate and Maxi you tried your best in goals but today just sadly wasn't our day. A big thank you to the 17s who stepped up and helped throughout our game.

B Grade: It was a tough day out on the court yesterday girls, but we met our goals each quarter and also stayed posive and had fun with a few lile party tricks. Each week you girls have fun, and make each other laugh which somemes is beer than a win, but I truly believe a win will come. Well done to Zoe who played a great quarter at C. Amelia got best player aer a stellar game at WD and GD, and GK. Alisha and Mon ran hard in the mid court. Ellie and Giorja gave their all at both ends of the court. Let's see how we go this week against Pt. Mac.

A Reserve: Bad luck girls, Kalangadoo played a great game and we were just unable to match up to them. We started each quarter well, and when we were paent we were able to move the ball with ease. Teresa had a great game in the mid court and drove hard all game. Bri and Lyndall worked hard in defence all game never giving up, they defended well and took many intercepts but were really up against it. Let's all get to training this week so we can regroup and have a great game this weekend.

A Grade: Much beer game this me round everyone. We were more paent in aack waing for right opons when there, just remember that extra step to the ball. Defence had a stellar game really made their gaolers work hard taking so many intercepts was so great to watch. A much beer score line than last me good job by everyone. Best Kayla and Carly

Junior 2: Well done girls against a bit older & more experienced side. We were crowding a lot - we need to go back to our basics of clearing out & then giving ourselves room to come forward, not be seagulls to a hot chip! Also remembering to pass the ball off as soon as we see someone in front - and not give the opposion me to catch up to us. Let's really listen at training this week & try to do what we pracce there on Saturdays. Ellie played a cracking game - geng herself into front posion & also geng numerous turnovers, she earned herself the Wendy's award. Emilee took some beauful intercepts at GK - Emilee you are so capable when you put your mind to it! She deserved the Fasta Pasta this week. Great job girls!

Junior 1: Well done girls, great game. Thank you to our sponsor Bakers Delight which went to Ana and Ava.

13 & Under: Port MacDonnell 34 defeated Mount Burr 22. The girls came in determined to win aer only losing to Mt Burr by 2 goals last round. They worked hard and fought for everything leaving nothing behind which the score definitely shows. We knew Mt Burr would be tough and they were exactly that today. All the girls stepped it up today and played brilliantly playing a ght defence down the whole court along with amazing court structure! Kasey McLean took a handful of mid court intercepts which really helped our game. Congratulaons girls, well deserved! Awards: Kasey McLean (Boost), Lillian Pengill (Subway).

15 & Under: Port MacDonnell 40 defeated Mount Burr 34. Great game by all girls today, each and every one of you should be super proud of yourselves. There is sll a lot to work on, but we are definitely moving forward. Well done to Bella today who came back and played her first game aer spending some me on the sidelines due to injury - you've come back and sloed in well, I think you definitely made an impact today in the aack by slowing the play down a bit and having a lot of control! Our transion down the court looked great when it was on, sll a lot to work on but everyone should be proud of their efforts today! Awards: Bella McLean (KFC), Bree Ridding (Boost Juice).

17 & Under: Port MacDonnell 38 defeated by Mount Burr 46. Round 13 saw us face off against the equally top placed Mount Burr side in wet and windy condions. We knew we would have our work cut out for us and went into the game ready for anything our opposion might throw at us. Unfortunately despite our best defensive efforts, Mt Burr were up 5 at the quarter break. A beer quarter in the second saw us only drop by a further two goals, a result of some unforced errors in passing on our end. Sophie Lewis had a great game again this week, matching up on an A Grade regular and going toe to toe. Bridie McPherson performed well aer a week off, also standing on an A Grade goalie and managing some mely stops to help the team to finish strong and win the last quarter, despite going down for the game by 9 goals to an experienced Mount Burr side. Both girls earned best players this week for their efforts. Awards: Sophie Lewis (Kirralie Jade Makeup and Beauty), Bridie McPherson (Bakers Delight).

B Reserve: Port MacDonnell 26 defeated by Mount Burr 41. We started okay but lost our spark to keep pushing ourselves. We need to cut front and make that

extra lead. Moving the ball safely into the goal ring. Working closer towards the ball. No-one else can do it but you for your team mates and the sasfacon of you have done all that you can. Come on, let's do it! Well done Amber Moulden & Arriella Smith for your efforts, geng today's awards. Thanks Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro & The Bay Pizzaria.

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 48 defeated Mount Burr 18. We faced Mount Burr in rainy condions with Northerly winds today. Adjusng to these condions we had to play a short sharp and direct game. First quarter we controlled the ball and stuck to our structures and processes, and scoring opportunies opened up. Accurate passing and delivery of the ball were essenally the aim throughout the game. Kelly provided beauful ball into the circle, finding Jess under post. Jess held her space strongly and took the ball with strong hands. The defensive team of Rachel, Montanna, Jenni and Elivia had many gains, deflecons and touches. It was great to see these girls chasing balls down and delivering them into the aack line. The driving out of defensive by the girls was exceponal and well med! Changes in the circle allowed Elivia to swing into the aack line combining with Lilly. Both providing opons in the aack line and shoong beaufully finishing strongly in our final quarter. Awards: Elivia Stanley (Shipwreck Bistro, Victoria Hotel Port MacDonnell), Rachel Johnstone (The Bay Pizzeria).

A Reserve: Port MacDonnell 59 defeated Mount Burr 32. Much beer start today girls and overall, a beer game for us. Our defense once again working overme to ensure they got rebounds and many turnovers which gave us the opportunity to score. Aack kept pushing all game with awesome drives and movement within the goal circle, they also made sure every shot counted. Midcourt ran out the game well and ensured the ball transion down the court was smooth, with well-med drives. Massive thank you to Lara Wilson and Sophie Lewis who filled in for us today without you guys we simply wouldn't have been able to fill a team. Thank you also to Ali Stanley who sat bench for us, again greatly appreciated. Awards: Kirby Carrison (Victoria Hotel), Sophie Lewis (TaylorMade), Lara Wilson (F45).

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 34 defeated by Mount Burr 43. Unfortunately today definitely wasn't our day, with a very disappoinng game. We were all raled from the first whistle and it was something that you all couldn't shake off. Defense again worked overme today, applying so much pressure in the goal circle and really made Mt Burr's goalies work for every ball. Consistency plays a massive part in our success and unfortunately we haven't been able to string together four consistent quarters individually and as a team. Let's really work hard together over the next few weeks, regroup and finish off the season strong and play the netball I know we can all play. Liza's last game today and we are sad that we won't see your happy, smiley and bubbly personality at trainings and come Saturdays but we do all wish you the very best. Awards: Alana Berkefeld, sponsored by J O. Berkefeld (Victoria Hotel), Liza Mutch, sponsored by Team Nilsson Fitness and Boxing (The Bay Pizzeria).

Junior 2: About me the weather was in our favour, it put you all in a great mood! I was so impressed by our game today girls, the smiles you had on your faces when you came off the court, showed me you were too. Everyone listened to my instrucons and followed the goals I'd set for each quarter. Keep up the posivity towards each other and towards the opposion just like you did today. I'm so proud of you all! We will connue to work on our defence, specifically coming towards the ball and using our outside arm! We didn't have our full team and absolutely look forward to having the girls who were away, back next game! Best players went to Stella and Lids for some amazing intercepts, listening to my instrucons and being such great role models for the other girls. It really was a tough decision to pick this week! You all deserved it!!

Junior 1: With half of our 'senior' J1 players missing four J2 girls performed really well – playing four quarters in different posions. Everyone stepped up a notch parcularly in the 'concentraon on instrucons' department. So much so the whole team deserved awards. Zahli and Shelbi (Donut King), Nyree (Tant FC), Lidia, Gracie, Stella Peters and Stella Perry (Coaches – Devine Gis).

Sports Power award went to Summah for listening & leading towards the ball well. Isabel received Donut King award for stepping up in goals & moving well.

Bella, you had a ripper game and gave 100% in both aack and defence. Molly, you had a solid game in goals and shot well. Demi, you moved so well in goals and in aack, your ming and leads are so nice to watch. Kailah, you had a really great game and got put through the middle and did your job well.

Ebs, another solid effort in the middle and drove hard all game. Well done

girls! This weeks awards went to Bella (Fasta Pasta) and Kaitlin (KFC).

B Reserve: Nice weather to play netball today compared to the last few games we have played in. We connue on our form from the last game against Mt Burr, which was great to see. We started well and we connue on with it throughout the game. Goalies were ok in first quarter, but aer a few tweaks with movements everything flowed from there and all goalies played great. Midcourt worked well from defence to aack, with feeding in the ring were good. Will need to pracce our passes a bit more as they need to be harder, so defences can't intercept them. Defences worked relessly, in ring and out of ring. Also driving down the court was working well. Everyone had a great game today and all deserved to be best players.

Congratulaons to Amy Mason on playing her 100th today, and did great in WA. Best players Jade White with her movements and nice shoong and Riley Sims right from the word go she was body on body, got many intercepons and driving to be the next opon. Enjoy the bye but be ready for the next game.

B Grade: Girls had such a great game today. We have been working on so many lile things lately especially our ming and passing. Each person this week had individual goals they had to work on and I'm so proud of everyone as they all delivered some quality netball with minimal errors. Our defence girls held their own and turned the ball over consistently and brought it effortlessly out of defence. Mid court played fast and hard with accurate passes and our shooters worked beaufully together and shot well. Best players go to Ash Fensom who played GS with the club meal award and also Kristy Varcoe in C with a Millicent Sports Power award.

A Reserve: With perfect weather condions today we come out determined and focussed. Great shoong and posional movements from Shelby and Bianca throughout the game. Well supported from Krystal guiding the mid court. Dakota ran a great game in centre backed up by Madi who competed every task we asked of her. Defensive duo of Lucy and Michelle created headaches for their goalies with no ball le uncontested. Another great team game over the whole court. Best: Lucy – New Haven Indian, Dakota - Heaven on a Hanger and Madi - F45

A Grade: Great team performance with our transion and ming improving. We do need to connue to reduce our turnovers in the coming weeks. Tayla stepped up in more of a leadership role with our two youngsters in Bella and Ebony who performed well in the defensive end. Kate and Casey provide plenty of drive and control for four quarters. Great performance from Emma (Somerset award) who held, posioned and shot well. Jami sloed back into goals with ease with plenty of movement and opons in and around the circle (Sports Power award).

Junior 2: Mini Magpies had a great game today and proved some great shoong techniques make a big difference. We had Grace and Zali receive best players awards, but each player had some great passages of play and very impressive footwork. Now, try to remember to get in front for the passes, and I think our game would be even more impressive.

Junior 1: What a fantasc game the girls played today! Everyone came together as a team with some beauful runs of play down the court. Emily (Property Co award) played the whole game in GS and proved why, moving around the ring and shoong some great goals. Ebony in GA backed her up perfectly with rebounding and support in the ring and took home the Australian Fish Market voucher Ashley, Adele, Charloe, Rory, Jorja and Milla played well through the mid court and into defence, sending the ball back into our aack line plenty of mes. It’s fantasc to see everyone developing in skills and confidence.

13 & Under: A bit of a slow start today but everyone pulled it together and steadied the play with some great defence all over the court. Molly (fish n chips award) was in everything and got so many touches all over the court. Ava and Zara (Wendys award) drove well in aack and Malda was her usual tenacious self, shoong well and feeding into Emmity. Tekani, Lexie and Ella all did a great job in defence and limited Nangwarry’s opportunies. Great team effort.

15 & Under: An amazing team effort today. We had different combinaons which worked well and players trying new posions. We had a lot of great passages of play which was finished off by our accurate shooters. Everyone worked hard in defence didn’t he court which caused turnovers. Kiersten (fish and chip) shot beaufully and defended well, Zoe (Property and co) did a fantasc job in a new posion. Great job girls let’s finish this season strong.

17 & Under: I am so proud of the girls today! We played a great team game today. With our defensive pressure all down the court which caused turnovers. To our aackers feeding well into our goalies and our goalies shoong beaufully We all combined great to get our first win of the season. Every person played their part on the court today. Georgia (beauty award) shot beaufully and Ebony (Kiralee Jade) fed and defended well. Let’s keep this going and finish the season strong.

B Reserve: A great display of

netball in some poor weather condions today. The girls came out firing and never let up, working hard for the full four quarters. Nic (Melzars Award) and Jodi combined beaufully in the goals and created some great ball movement with the mid court. Brianna (Commercial Hotel Award) and Bec read the ball well and limited their opposion to very few scoring opportunies. Our mids took heaps of intercepts and worked the ball down the court with ease. Thank you to the girls who stepped off the court to allow two of our juniors to have a run in their first senior game. Ash sloed easily in to GK and displayed some impressive one on one defence. Once she was handed the WA bib she front cut perfectly and created a lot of space and opportunity for the goalies. Harmony popped on the GS bib and looked right at home, easily finding space and shoong with great accuracy Thank you both, and Nic, for filling in and thanks to our girls for welcoming them all to our team and encouraging them every step of the way. A fantasc result.

B Grade: With a few of our girls out this weekend, we hit the court with many new combinaons. Our girls took this in their stride and played exceponally well, with many great passages of play. Our defensive pressure was impressive and we were able to capitalise on our turnovers with accurate shoong. A big thank you goes out to Rosie and Em for slong into our team this week. We also want to wish Eb all the best for her trip to South Korea, we will miss having you on the court with us. Best players: Ebony Wurst (Napoleon), Lydia Mules (Shelton Butchers).

A Reserve: A really fantasc performance today aer a lot of tweaking and adjusng from last week. Gina, Sophie and Georgia all posioned well this week to opmize our feeding in to the circle. This was made easy by the incredible number of turnovers from the rest of the team. Awesome improvement from one week to the next girls. Let’s keep building for the remainder of the season.

A Grade: Good outcome in challenging and unfavourable condions. Well done for showing persistence in aack with some nice transions and conversion. Solid effort defensively to limit Nangwarry’s scoring opportunies with Lara, Loz and Jane turning the ball over. Great to have some of the hills back on the sideline and again thank you to Sophie and Georgia for your efforts. Best players: Abbey (Kirralie Jade) and Lauren (Sheltons).

A Grade: Hath 54 def Robe 41. Not the result we were hoping for, however we had lots of good passages and determinaon when we wanted the ball. It just wasn't our day. We need to fight for every ball. We will come out firing against Glencoe next week and give it all we've got! Calcua went to Annie (Caledonian Inn) for her great defensive pressure and talk all over the court. Ellen received the incenve (Eighth Leer Bungalow) for working hard all day

47. Very proud of the A Res for stepping up against another tough team! In wet condions the players took a while to find their feet, however adjusted quickly and got the ball moving down the court with speed and accuracy. The defensive pressure picked up in the second quarter, liming Hatherleigh to one goal and not many scoring opportunies. Emilie Gould played a ripper game in goals and brought her athlecism to the goal circle, winning her the Calcua (Loaves & Fishes). Alannah was on fire in defence, geng intercepts in every third of the court, winning the incenve (Union Café). A really good team game from the roosters and we are looking forward to the bale against Glencoe next weekend!

B Grade: Hath 39 def by Robe 47. Quite simply we chased our tails then clawed our way back for a win. We (and def the coach) should never underesmate our opponents because Hatherleigh had our measure for sure in the first. Our leads were not clear or strong, and we looked like we were headless chooks from one end to the other. However, this team is also amazing at amping it up and making our way back. Kudos for claiming back such a huge gap, and I mean to each and everyone of you. It would however be fair to say we sll need to learn to come out with our game face on from the first whistle. Goalies Ella and Libby have this thing going on, and Sienna shot well in the first. Keelin and Lil were tough as nails, and Tay was a determined influence on the game at WD. Mads, George and Pom had some very consistent goalies to deal with and by the third quarter their teamwork was paying off admirably. You were right Mads - the win felt good. Calcua George (Naracoorte Sportspower) and Incenve to Pom (Naracoorte Sportspower). Thanks to Courts for being team manager and to Mandz for carng the gear home.

B Reserve: Hath 80 def Robe 31. The girls went out firing as we knew it was going to be a tough slog. Everyone put the pressure on

for all 4 quarters and I feel the score definitely didn't reflect the fight. Calcua was awarded to Emma Brooks (Loaves & Fishes) for a strong game in goals. Incenve was given to Olivia Valente (Eighth Leer Bungalow) for a really tough fight in defence.

17 & Under: Hath 28 def by Robe 44. The girls had a great game today, despite the weather they went out fighng from the first quarter. They stood tall and made sure of their passes and kept fighng even though there was rain. The ball got slippery by the end of the game which proved difficult for the ball to leave the players hands accurately. Best player went to Georgie (The Pastry Place) for a great game in goals, she gained confidence as the game went on. Incenve went to Stella (Union Café) for blocking her WA out of the game.

15 & Under: Hatherleigh 50 def Robe 16. Today's score doesn't display the huge amount of effort that everyone put in with plenty of pressure down the whole court, and fight for the ball throughout all four quarters. We mixed things up a lile in goals and special menon to Kaitley Brooks for having a good crack at shoong. It was Olivia Cheung's last game with Robe today and she had another ripper day in defence. We wish you all the very best in your new adventures and you will be extremely missed by all. Best player went to Olivia Birchall (Union Café) for her strong defence and Incenve to Aleisha Hawkins (Salubrious Hour) for mulple intercepts and pick-ups of loose balls. Well done girls!

13 & Under: Hath 49 def Robe 11. The girls were a lile slow off the start but eventually started pung the pressure on. The goalies, Makenzie and Livia worked really well moving in the ring and feeders Lacey and Zoe did well to be those back opons on the ring. We welcomed back our superstar defender, Holly aer she's been out with a finger injury. Her confidence really helped the defenders work relessly unl the end. Best player was awarded to Holly (Union Café), what a ripper first game back. Incenve went to Makenzie (Salubrious Hour) for a strong game in goals.

Junior 2: Each week everyone is improving so much!! Our defensive pressure down the court has been great and our leading to the ball is improving all the me! The opposion were a bit taller and older, however we played a great team game. Well done to Lydia for her defensive work, winning the incenve (Caledonian Inn).

Junior 2: Aer 2 weeks off, it was great to be back on the court again. Well done to everyone, you all adjusted well and listened which was great to see. Charloe and Ruby J you worked well in the circle and kept trying to get in front which was great to see. Thank you to Paige and Mikayla for filling in! You both worked well in defence together and had lots of touches and rebounds. Bella, Billy and Ruby O moved well and posioned themselves well on the circle. The encouragement award this week went to Ruby O for her talking and adjusng to coming in front. Best player this week went to Paige (LICO Pty Ltd.) for her many touches in the circle and great hands. Well done everyone!

Junior 1: We started very well today with some good court play but let ourselves down a lot throughout the game with passing errors. Abbie & Jaylee started well in defence geng lots of turnovers and Jaz and Hollie worked hard in goals. Our mid court of Charloe, Mikayla and Shelby transioned the ball well and worked hard around the circle. Our footwork was much beer today and connues to improve as well as our defensive pressure with plenty of turnovers. Great job girls. Best player went to Abbie (Metalworx) and encouragement went to Hollie.

13 & Under: Great game girls. Our defensive pressure down the court in both the defense and aack ends connue to improve each week which creates many turnovers. Everyone had eyes on the ball and many girls were able to pick off intercepts from this. First best went to Isabella (Dycer Construcon) who had a great day in defense converng the ball regularly in and outside the circle and showed determinaon to keep playing aer having a nasty fall on the court leading to a couple of scrapes and bruises. Emmerson received second best for also creang many turnovers in the defense end and stuck ght on her player majority of the game. Third best went to Jasmine for having a great half in WD scking with her player and being strong when receiving the ball as it was being passed out of defence. Thanks for filling in Jas. Well done girls and let's go out their strong today and have fun.

15 & Under: Good game today girls. Unfortunately, we had 3 girls away today which resulted in Maddy being our only circle defender, Kloe slipped right in and played some awesome defence with some great movement between the two girls. Mid court had great defensive pressure creang many turnovers within the center third. We had lots of posion changes within our aacking line, but our shooters adjusted well and were moving together in unison by the last quarter. First best went to Macca (Maloney Plumbing) who had an outstanding game with many intercepts and needed second opons down the court. Second Best went to Mckayla who converted from mid court to goal aack applying great defensive pressure creang many turnovers in the goal third. Great game this week girls

17 & Under: Felt like ages since we'd played and, you all did a fabulous job in a closely contested game for the full four quarters. Our defensive pressure at both ends was excellent. Alyssa, Lilly and Montana played smart in the first half controlling play and creang opons to convert. Zoe ran brilliantly all day and linked strongly end-to-end. Giaan, Kayla and Jena were focused and adjusted well. We were a goal down at half me and changed a few things. Montana and Caitlin always step up to everything we ask and were great in the second half

With a bit of work to do in the last quarter you all worked super hard and came away 2 goals up. Alyssa for best (Degaris Lawyers) and Montana second.

B Reserve: Not our best game today girls, going down by 16 in the end. We had a slow start in each quarter, with Kongorong gaining quite a lead at mes making it difficult to catchup. Coming off of a two week break, it was fair to say we might have sll been in holiday mode, making a few silly errors. There were some promising passages of play during the game, however we need the intensity, drive and determinaon across all four quarters. Let's keep our heads up, regroup and go into the last games united, encouraging and posive, hopefully geng some wins on the board! Best players today went to Jacinta (Key2Sale) and Jorja for their consistent efforts. Thank you to Jodie for ming and Joyce for scoring!

B Grade: 57-36. Well done girls! It was nice to come out with a good win in the end. It took some to get into the game and to adapt to some different posions and combinaons down the court but our second half of the game was much beer Our best players today went to Hayley (24/7 Car and Dog Wash) and Kate for a solid 4 quarter effort and working hard to keep us in the game. Special thanks to Giaan for benching and jumping on when needed.

A Reserve: Good job girls. Not our preest game… but alas! Another week, another combo haha. We had some really great passages of play and I think with some more work at training, we'll get it running smoothly. Top game from defense today, you all kept us well and truly in it. Tameka and Jessie had the switching working well and Sammy and Jorja applying the pressure around the outside gave us so many opportunies. Good job to dead-eye Gary in goals today – top work. I think we had passages of really good stuff in the circle – great passing in from Laura and Jorja (it's a bit of different setup passing in to me, but we adapted and got the hang of the high passes throughout the game). Just some work to do in our transion into aack, but good job geng the win. 1st Best – Tameka (B&P Travel and Cruise), 2nd Best – Jessie, 3rd Best – Abbie.

A Grade: A high work rate down both ends set us up for a good win. Aer focusing on defence at training this week it was great to see what we have discussed be implemented into our game and actually come off. Despite some fague from not playing for two weeks everyone connued to push out the defensive pressure for the game all over the court. Goalies combined really well and were presenng two opons and feeding into the circle was fantasc. We just need to keep thinking about not pung each other under too much pressure at mes. Great game by Zoe –you were always an opon driving down court, fed really well and even got some turnovers which was great. First best was Chloe (O'Brien Electrical) who applied a huge amount of pressure all game and was rewarded with some great intercepts. You connue to always be an opon coming out of defence and picked up heaps of loose balls. Second best to Chelsea for a good game in keeper. You kept adjusng when you found yourself out of posion, rebounded well and had a good crack at some intercepts coming down the court. Let's keep up the fitness and skills so we can transfer this game against any team.

ROUND 13 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW

Glencoe 80 def Kongorong 34

Glencoe came up against Kongorong aer a two week break. Both teams put out adjusted line ups due to player unavailability. With the Buckingham duo out for Kongorong, usual midcourter Rachel Perry stepped into the defensive circle and Kaylah Farrell filled the shooter posion. Up and coming youngster Alice Tentye was also unavailable for the Murphies giving 17 & under star Zoe Mulraney a well earnt A Grade game.

It was the Murphies who came out with a high defensive work rate making it hard for the young aacking line of the Hawks to transion the ball from their centre pass to post. Down the aacking end for Glencoe the goalie combinaon of Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks was working in unison. This made life hard for the Hawks defenders in Perry and Emily Lightbody to create turnover ball as they needed to cover a clear two avenues to goal. The Hawks’ aack line eventually seled and worked with paence to get the ball safely through the Murphies defence and into the reliable hands of Farrell. However, the Murphies defensive pressure did not let up and any turnovers were transioned quickly down court and converted, seng up Glencoe with a 22 to 10 goal lead.

The task only got tougher for Kongorong in the second quarter as the Glencoe side connued to perform. The centre court bale between Donna Jaeschke for Glencoe and Ebony Lawson for the Hawks was determined. Both players were running hard for their respecve side but the experience of Jaeschke gave her the upper hand. Jaeschke and Mulraney started to combine well in aacking transion and feed with precision into the holding Cocks. Despite the pressure that Lightbody was applying to Cocks her strength was on full show –converng 18 goals of 21 aempts in the second quarter. Kongorong’s aack line struggled to transion past Glencoe’s defenders. Chloe Pfitzner, Sarah Edwards and Jaeschke worked hard together to limit any easy opons for Hawks, seng up intercept opportunies for themselves and Chelsea Owen coming out of the circle. The pressure on the Hawks was clear with them only adding 5 goals to their tally compared to 23 for Glencoe. With the result seeming inevitable – with Glencoe having a 30 goal lead at half me – Kongorong focused on improving their performance in the second half. Despite some impressive defensive turnovers from Pfitzner to start the quarter the Hawks were able to get some momentum back. Evie Sealey lied her efforts and found more of the ball outside of the circle which allowed Farrell the space to ulise her strength and hold. Down the defensive end the early work from Lightbody and Perry was starng to pay off with both geng some hand to ball. A patch of inaccurate shoong from the Glencoe circle also allowed the Hawk defenders with opportunity on the rebound. In a much more even quarter with the Hawks able to keep Glencoe to 15 goals and convert 11 themselves.

Sensing a good fightback from the Hawks the Murphies lied a gear in the final term. Jaeschke connued to be an opon all the way down the court and fed with accuracy into the circle. Edwards and Owen combined well in the defensive circle forcing errors from the Hawks feeders and Pfitzner connued her defensive pressure outside the circle. As the game went on and players started to fague there were errors from both sides, but it was the experience and high work rate of the Murphies that allowed them to capitalise and win the final term 20 goals to 8.

The final score being Glencoe 80 to Kongorong 34. Best players for the Murphies were Pfitzner and Owen and the Hawks Sealey and Lightbody

Best players - Glencoe: Chloe Pfitzner, Chelsea Owen; Kongorong: Evie Sealey, Emily Lightbody

Hatherleigh 54 def Robe 41

The game started with both teams playing with intensity and speed going goal for goal. Erin Watson and Rosie Nele for Hatherleigh were made to work hard to get the ball into the aack with great

pressure from Annie Regnier and Ellen Ramke from Robe. Strong rebounding by Maddie Redman and Lara MacGregor with Tegan Telfer geng many hands to the ball gave Hatherleigh extra opportunies to score, whilst Robe’s Regnier and Lucy Perkins showed great paence to feed into Sarah Laurie and Tori Gluyas. Despite the icy and wet condions both teams were shoong well, but Hatherleigh got the lead late to be up by 3 at the first break.

A couple of changes by Robe saw Ramke move into Goal Defence and Alannah Jennings come on at Wing Defence. Both teams started the quarter with the same level of intensity that they had finished the first but as the rain fell, Hatherleigh extended their lead with Nele having a great physical bale with Jennings, whilst MacGregor connued to make her presence felt geng her hands to plenty. Demi Vanderhorst increased her work rate causing many a turnover in the mid court for Hatherleigh while Regnier and Perkins connued to work hard around the circle for Robe, but Redman and MacGregor made it difficult for them to find their goalies. Ramke and Georgia Perkins for Robe were working hard but were finding it difficult to stop Hatherleigh’s Maddie Pulmer and Vanderhorst who were moving and working together like a well-oiled machine. With Hatherleigh stepping up and taking charge in the 2nd they went into the main break with a 10 goal lead.

Going into the third Robe made another change, going back to their original line up whilst Hatherleigh remained unchanged. A quick start by Hatherleigh saw the lead extend further due to accurate shoong from Pulmer, who was being well fed with great feeds from Watson and Nele. Robe’s Emma Grant returned to the court and started to make an impact geng her hands to the ball and helping to give Robe more opportunies to score with Regnier and Perkins combining well down the court to get the ball quickly into their aack line. Hatherleigh appeared to re as the quarter wore on, whilst Robe’s intensity never faltered. A fast-finishing end to the quarter by Robe and what is oen dubbed the premiership quarter saw Robe out score Hatherleigh 13-9 with extremely accurate shoong from both Laurie and Gluyas to reduce Hatherleigh’s lead to only 6 going into the last. Both teams remained unchanged going into the last and it was clear from the outset that all players were determined to leave nothing le in the tank. The intensity and pressure on the court was evident as it went goal for goal. Hatherleigh started to get more of it through the high work rate of Redman and MacGregor, who were well supported by Telfer who provided great drive out of defence. Some early missed opportunies to convert on the scoreboard kept Robe in the game, and supporters on the edge of their seats, however Robe connued to fight for everything but failed to make any real impact on Hatherleigh’s lead. Robe’s Regnier and Hatherleigh’s Watson connued to give their all, as did Robe’s Perkins and Hatherleigh’s Nele, whilst Telfer and Ramke tried valiantly to shut down their influence with strong defensive pressure for their respecve teams. Hatherleigh’s Pulmer and Vanderhorst found their groove again to help Hatherleigh run out comfortable winners 54 to 41.

Best players - Hatherleigh: Erin Watson, Maddie Pulmer; Robe: Annie Regnier, Lucy Perkins.

Kalangadoo 73 def Nangwarry 15

Kalangadoo started strong with the defensive combinaon of Lara Munro and Lauren Kain working relentlessly in the circle to make tough work for Nangwarry’s aack. Kalangadoo’s mid court worked at a high intensity with wing aack Chloe Peacock finding space and driving to the goal circle. Jane Auld and Nangwarry’s Cassie Dinnison had a ght tussle in the mid court with both not giving an inch. Kalangadoo’s goalies Ebony McDiarmid and Abbey Duncan scored accurately and at a high rate to help Kalangadoo go into the first quarter break with a lead 22 to 2.

combine well and find space with ght physical pressure from Nangwarry’s Carly Ploenges and Kayla Gray. Dinnison connued to work hard for Nangwarry, providing strong drives and re-offers in an aempt to feed her goalies Tahlia Wilson and Hayley Vanderhorst accurately. Kalangadoo went into the main break 40 to Nangwarry’s 9.

At half me Kalangadoo made some mid court changes with Nangwarry taking the opportunity to increase its defensive pressure with Ploenges and Gray making hard work for Kalangadoo to find space and a clear path to goal. Munro and Kain worked overme, with Munro taking mely intercepts and combing with Kain to limit Nangwarry’s scoring opportunies and limit them to three goals for the quarter to help Kalangadoo enter the three-quarter me break 51 to 12.

The final quarter saw Nangwarry switch goalies Wilson and Vanderhorst with Wilson relishing the extra space. Kalangadoo’s Duncan used her speed to her advantage and made tough work for Nangwarry’s defence combinaon as she rewarded Kalangadoo’s defensive effort converng at a high rate to help Kalangadoo convincingly run the game out strongly to finish 73 goals to Nangwarry 15.

Best players - Kalangadoo: Abbey Duncan, Lauren Kain; Nangwarry: Kayla Gray, Carly Ploenges.

Pt MacDonnell 34 lost to Mt Burr 43

In wet & rainy condions, Pt Mac hosted Mt Burr at home. Last-me these teams met it was Pt Mac that were easy victors - Mt Burr have welcomed Madi Hagge back into their side since then who bolstered up their defence. Pt Mac were missing the experience of Michelle Moore.

The first quarter saw Mt Burr come out firing – they turned over Pt Mac’s first centre pass & had 2 on the board before the Bay scored. Ebony Clark started well for the Mozzies at Goal Shooter & she was being well supported by Laura Schultz & Ella Easterby on the ring. Schultz went off toward the end of the first quarter under the blood rule, moving Easterby into Centre & leaving Wing Aack vacant. Pt Mac didn’t really take this opportunity to score & it was Mt Burr that led at quarter me 11-7. The second quarter was a very even affair, Clark was sll dominang in the goal circle for the Burr, while the defensive efforts of Pt Mac Captain Alana Berkefeld were creang turnovers for her team which Demon goalies Megan Hein & Kori Collins were able to capitalize on. The Bay’s Centre, Liza Mutch, was having a great first half, driving well & being supported by Wing Aack Shannon Scheidl. Olivia Dean & Madi Hagge in defence for the Mozzies were playing tough, physical netball & rebounded any missed shots. Mt Burr sll held a 4goal lead at half me, 22-18.

Pt Mac made no changes at half me - Mt Burr put Schultz back to Centre & Easterby back to Wing Aack which had an immediate impact. Schultz’s drive & experience helping her team to build on their lead. Clark & Ashlee Dean in the goal circle for the Mozzies were shoong accurately, leaving very few rebounding opportunies for Berkefeld & Coon. Mt Burr’s defensive pressure all over the court also started forcing some errors & frustraons into Pt Mac’s game. Mt Burr increased their lead to 9 at 3/4 me, 34-25.

The final quarter was again even, but Mt Burr had done enough in the third quarter & Pt Mac were trying to play catch up netball. Mt Burr were impressive all over the court. Liza Mutch needed to come off with a few minutes to go due to the blood rule which gave 17 & Under player Lara Wilson some more A Grade court me, the Bay moving Megan Hein out to Wing Aack & Wilson into Goal Shooter It was a tough & physical game in wet condionsMt Burr coming out eventual winners by 9 goals, 4334.

Both teams remained unchanged during the second quarter with McDiarmid and Duncan connuing to Best players - Port MacDonnell: Liza Mutch, Alana Berkefeld; Mount Burr: Ashlee Dean, Olivia Dean.
