Once again, thank you to all our sponsors who joined us last week, your support is greatly appreciated. With copious amounts of rain in the past week or two, it was always going to make footy a hard slog, and harder as the day went on and the rain kept coming.

Under 11: The young guns braved the elements and got out on the ground to put into pracce what they have been learning at trainings. Great teamwork by all.

Junior Colts: Firstly, congratulaons to Harrison Elletson, Declan Richardson and Ryan Lucas who all represented Kongorong/League in the U15's Interleague Carnival over the June long weekend. Reward for playing some great football, not only this season, but throughout your junior careers. Well done lads. It was another good win for the Junior Colts in wet and windy condions. The kids got the job done and used the ball well. All the skills we are compleng at trainings are being used on game day – great teamwork. Awards: Declan Richardson – Lucas Family Award, Blake Telford –Aussie Disposals, Ryan Lucas – Spot-on Fishing Tackle, Jacob Gordon –Janeway Plumbing Award, Angus Maidment – Paradise Pizza and Koby Galloway rounding out the best players.

Senior Colts: A hard day for our fellas and a bit to work on. Will Von Stanke thrived being able to play again and led from the front all day to get the MT Wheels Award. Toby McKinnon put in another consistent effort to receive the Swallow Drive Meats Award. The next three spots were taken by junior colts, lads that step up most weeks, aer already playing their own game –Blake Telford (Mick Mullan Award), Harrison Elletson (Coach's Award) and Ryan Lucas (Badenoch's Delis Award). Logan Cordy came in at sixth best. Well done to Tyler Richardson for represenng the Club/League in the Interleague recently. Let's put this one behind us and look to take on the Magpies this week.

Reserves: A good result for the boys. A very team focused effort again, which was the most pleasing aspect of the win. Contribuons from everyone and unselfish, 'side first' acts, all over the ground, allowed us to have forty scoring shots in prey tough condions. Dan Hann connued his stellar season to be named best with the Collins Court Butcher Award. Tyreese Newton has also been in fine

form to take away the Commercial Hotel Award. Bohdi Pannenburg gave us first use of the ball from the ruck, for the Killara Food Centre Award. Andrew 'Noddy' Telford connued his solid season performances with the Club Tea Award along with Lachie Pulford. Congratulaons to Paully Ellis on playing his 100th Senior Game for the Hawks and was given the Mug Award to celebrate the milestone. Paul has been a fantasc player in the A grade previous to this year and sets a brilliant example of what it takes to be a top-level footballer with his professional preparaon and team first atude.

Seniors: A wet, soupy day last week and the boys came out with a lot beer atude into this game, than the previous round match. We baled well in all four quarters of the game, especially the last, which has been our downfall in more games than not. Playing a man short aer half me ulmately gave Tant a free player, pung us under pressure to play man on man, with Tant going on to take the win. Youngster Cohen Janeway, in his second game up from colts, stepped up and showed some guts and determinaon in trying condions, and got a special menon in best players and took home the K & S Fuel Award. Pick Ave Deli Award went to consistent player Tyrone Rayner, with fih best going to Jake Whiy, always pung his body on the line, and geng a Club Tea Award. Darcy Hunt is geng back to where he le off prior to injury (Collins Court Butcher Award).

Upcoming events include Kong Pong this week aer the K'doo game. Get your partner organised and your costumes, theme is 'Rhyme without reason'. Prizes for best dressed team, and overall winners.

15th July sees our reunion/past players day and Beyond Blue Round. Tommy Hunter is shaving his head on the night to raise funds for Beyond Blue, so please donate hps://fundraise.beyondblue.org.au/h airforcare

Aer a week off for the Zone Carnival where once again we were very well represented in the 15’s with Nateo and 17’s with Cooper, Connor & Brycie and with Nateo & Connor making the teams of the carnival, it was back to home and away season and what was an old school wet weather footy day. The Glencoe oval was in good shape heading into the start of the day but with the rain forecast by the me the seniors rolled out it was a different story

Under 11: The minis probably had the best condions for the day with the lilest magpies having huge numbers and loaning a few across every line to make sure there was a game. To the young maggies who played across awesome job as you showed what junior footy and sportsmanship is about, you gave it all and even managed to score a lot of the goals for the Glencoe side.

Junior Colts: From the outset the Junior Colts were up against facing a much larger Glencoe side across every line, but Macca wanted the team to connue to work on what they have been at training, take the game on when the opportunity is there and keep baling out for the 4 quarters. Whilst the mids and backline worked and baled hard over the 4 quarters there were some real impressive passages of play with link up moving the ball forward but unfortunately just couldn’t manage to get a score on the board. Best players went to Joe Box, El Burr, Alexander Lee, Nathaniel Cooper, Dante Gibbons-Clark and Koby Parker

Senior Colts: A tough day for our Colts with 2 lads pulling out Friday night and a couple of DA players before the game meant we had to borrow a few Glencoe players to make a game of it. In wet and trying condions Tommy urged our lads to take the game on at every opportunity and we saw that me and me again over the 4 quarters but the weight of numbers just proved too much in the end for the lads. Best players went to Kye McKenna, Harry Mules, Connor, Nateo and Jack.

B Grade: In very wintery condions the Kalangadoo B Grade were reasonably fortunate to miss the heavy downpours that other sides endured as we played Glencoe at Glencoe on Saturday. The Murphies were unfortunately a lile undermanned, however they sll were able to win a number of centre clearances early in the first quarter Mitch Varcoe, Nathan Reeves and Jacob Simmonds started to get on top and were able to provide scoring opportunies for Brad Male who kicked

6 and Brodie Von Stanke-Dowie who was able to contribute 3. Jusn Mansell was solid across half back and was able to also contribute 3 goals himself. It was very pleasing to have such a strong 170 point win in difficult condions. Aer the end of the first round, although the team on occasions has been unseled it is posive to finish the first half of the season in the top 4. Most certainly looking forward to the second half of the year which starts this coming Saturday against a very strong side in Kongorong.

A Grade: Once again the seniors were playing for the Max Mathews Cup which is something we have held for several years and Lynsey was looking to make sure it remained there once again along with raining on their reunions. The A’s are looking more and more seled each week with each line really starng to get their structures and set up aligned which is handy coming into the second half of the season. The game was always going to be a slog as the condions throughout the day had deteriorated and the oval was turning to mud in some places but the 1st qtr saw us with the majority of the play but only through inaccurate kicking saw us up by 2 goals at the 1st break. You could see clearly in the 2nd quarter the Murphies weren’t out to try and win the game but minimise the scoreboard damage by dropping players behind the ball at every opportunity but this then allowed some players up the ground to get busy and help the maggies kick away slightly to be up by 22 points at the half. The 3rd qtr saw the Murphies crack in and made the most of the condions kicking 5 goals to 3 for the term cung our lead back to 10 points at the final break. Some words of inspiraon at the final break from Lynsey saw the maggies come out firing in the last as the wet weather specialist come to the fore as held the Murphies goalless in the last and kick 4.3 of our own to register and comfortable 6 goal win in the end and have us turning at 5 and 3 at the halfway mark of the season. Best on ground went to Sammy McManus who was in everything all day. Other bests went to Tye, Connor, Ben Gregory, Jusn Bromley and Dylan Bromley

Next up we look to start the second half of the season as we take on Kongorong on their home deck.

Junior Colts: In fairly ordinary weather (pung it mildly), the young guys played some really good football. They were strong at the ball, tackled with intensity, disposed of the footy with good accuracy considering the condions and made good decisions. What was also very pleasing, was that they shared the ball around, resulng in 11 goal scorers. It was a total team effort, with every player contribung when required. Now the challenge is to repeat this performance in the coming weeks. Gaining momentum in the second half of the season is important, if we want to play in the finals. This week is a really important game for us, a must win if we are going to stay in touch with the teams above us. The boys know this and have indicated that they are prepared to do the hard work, in order to give themselves the best chance. To be honest, picking best players, was a real task. Aer a lot of deliberaon, John, Conrad, Flynn, Brodie and Vinne were considered to be the top five of a long list. The Union Cafe' incenve award went to Eli Jess. The Denton Sports Power award went to Reid Johns, and the Robe Seafood and Take Away 'Nugget Award' went to Dylan Thomas.

Senior Colts: Probably the worst condions football has seen in the south east for a while, taking on Nangwarry who were a lile short but managed to get a team on the park. They rocked up ready to take the 4 points, first half was a really hot contest for both sides. Our boys finally pulled their finger out and knew how important a win was for our finals run. We were lucky enough to get away with a 29

point win. Best players were Flynn Peel, Mason McKenny, Kaiden Carter, Nathan Gibbons and Riley Sutherland. Incenves went to Riley Sutherland and Mason McKenny.

A Grade: The A grade match was played in typical winter condions at Robe with a strong cold wind blowing across the oval which was starng to get slippery in certain secons. The Nangwarry side while undermanned played with discipline and purpose but could not match the skill level of the Robe players and the ball movement structure that have been established by Coach Brown. Robe welcomed back its captain Jordan Hentschke, Tom Wachtel and Bram Whilesea for this match but again the injury curse prevented Coach Brown, and George Pretlove from taking the field. It was also pleasing to see Kaiden Carter play his first A grade match and Zac Donnelly play his first A grade match for Robe. Robe were consistent in their scoring efforts irrespecve of whether they kicked with or against the wind and were accurate in front of goal except for the third quarter when they kicked 5 goals nine behinds, in fact Robe shared the goal kicking around and had 14 individual goal kickers. As would be expected selecng best players for Robe was not an easy task as all players contributed, however George Duon, Henry Lawrie, Jordan Hentschke, Sam Huebner, Tom Miller and Zac Deane were the standout players for Robe. The injury curse however did strike during the game with Dinning, Pet and Donnelly expected to miss several matches as they recover

Senior Colts: Last week seen us brave the weather to take on Kongorong down there, to the boys credit they started very well and aacked the footy all day without much fuss, as well as constantly adding to the scoreboard and kicking straight at goal which gave us a solid win in the end. Very proud of our teams effort this week as they connuously turn up and want to get beer each and every week. Best players in no order were Cade Kelly who connues his very good start to the year and is hing the scoreboard every week. Ellis Cushion, Sam Simmons, James Braun and Braydn Hateley. Well done lads.

Under 11: Last week we headed out to Kongorong, wasn't the best of days with the wind and rain coming down strong from the north, the guys decided they wanted the bigger goals and kicked into the wind, with the link up handballs and kicks on point they came away with a win! Best players went to young Dusty Marn - Rylee (Fasta Pasta), Asher (McDonalds) and young Rory (Donut King).

Junior Colts: Last week we travelled to Kongorong in some very unpleasant condions. Our young side fought hard all day and it was great to see our leaders starng to use their voice and do a lot of the talking instead of the kids hearing our voices all the me. Kobe Bromley showed us he is developing into a great backman and aacked the footy hard all day earning himself best on ground followed by Kaden Bell who worked extremely hard all day never giving in. Jake Bevan was a tackling machine and always gives 100% week in week out, Harley Chapple took some great marks and got up the ground and got in

A Grade: Last week's game took us to Kongorong. The weather really turned it on for us and once our game started the oval was very chopped up so the game plan would've been the same for both teams. The first half was very choppy we had most of the play in our half of the ground but the condions were extremely hard for both teams as we struggled to gets points on the board. We allowed Kongorong back in the game as they kicked a couple quick goals aer half me. But aer that our boys really stepped up as we were really hungry to get 2 wins in a row which hasn't happened for a long me and we put together our first 4 quarter effort with no lapses. Great team performance a lot of the players are in new posions and doing a great job for the team. Other guys are starng to step up and we are really starng to gel as a squad. Best players in no order Liam English, Troy Ha, Zac Walker, Jordy Ha and Darcy Pink.

Junior Colts: The boys played some of their best footy last week. A slow start but once we got moving in the second half we looked brilliant. Levi hit the scoreboard again, and Reed put in a captain’s effort to get the best player. Mostyn had his best game as well. Really threw himself at every hard ball.

Senior Colts: Last week we had a big challenge on our hands taking on a very determined Robe side and came away with our best win for the season. Aer a ght three quarters the boys played a great last quarter eventually gaining the points. best players in a team effort were Sam Hunt who really worked hard for the whole game, Brady Sharp marked everything that came his way, Chance Mitchell played a solid four quarters, Braden Manhood did some really hard work and Jackson Dean set us up all game from CHB and the ruck.

B Grade: It has been a long first half of the year for our side but to the boys credit they certainly came out to play against the Robe B grade on Saturday. In the first half we competed really well and went in at half me only a few points down. In the second half we lost some of our run and the bigger forwards in the Robe side got on top, however, we kept on compeng unl the final siren. Best player was once again Jacob Gregory, Frazer Johnson wasn’t far behind, Brad Sco did a great job in his return

match to the club, Brock Sandow provided plenty of run, Tommy Hales creave opportunies forward of centre and Mark Teagle played a classic ‘Teags’ game built around contested possession. Thanks to everyone that helped out, especially Dave Wallis who did a great job umpiring.

A Grade: Another perfect day at Mt Burr for football and what a game it was too. Couldn’t have been prouder of the effort given by all of our lads. To not get the win sll hurts, as it should, but a lot of posives to come from the game and sets us up for a big second half of the year. Best players were Sam Wallis with his defensive acts winning us the ball me and me again and stopping each of Robe’s aacks. Jackson Dean who competes for everything and plays with maturity and strength for such a young player. Jack Muhovics whose work rate again is huge for us and plays well down back or on ball. Horse Guye who had a role to play and did it perfectly. Josh Fiebig who is growing in stature as another dangerous forward for us. Cory Gamble who also had a job to do and did exactly what he was asked to do. Onto the bye aer Interleague for us which comes at the right me for some well earned rest and recovery. Best of luck to all who are involved with Interleague and look forward to being back at the Burr for Nangwarry Round 10.

We are now half way through the 2023 season, well done everyone.

On that cold and wet day, the football field in Robe was transformed into a baleground of resilience and determinaon. Thank you to Robe for lending the 3 junior teams players, we appreciate it especially the Senior Colts we were able to witness a great game being played.

This Saturday is the Saints Ball and we look forward to seeing you all glammed up for a night of dancing. Tickets are sll available online.

Under 11: Today we made the long drive down to Robe and the weather gods where a tad cranky. If the kids didn't know it was a winter sport today proved that to them all. The first 2 quarters all kids where playing brilliant football. There was one piece of play which I will menon, Robe kicked a point and our kids kicked out and moved the ball down forward by foot and handballs and a few shepherds was so good to see and the goal was kicked. Then the rain set in which was so heavy and cold resulng in the game being shortened the kids weren't complaining as they were freezing. Thanks for Robe for the top up players. The back line in parcular was under extreme pressure all day and to their credit held up fantasc. Junior Colts: Made the trip up to Robe, with few boys out sick was going to be a tough ask for the boys available. Cheers to Robe for throwing a few over each quarter much appreciated. It's easy to read a final score of 96-0 and think yep another loss. But from the sidelines I felt it was quite even throughout. When we seled and thought our way through our possession I thought we looked really good. Just a maer of geng the delivery and some marking power inside 50 and we'll start hing the scoreboard more oen.

Senior Colts: In very wet condions our boys played outstanding football challenging Robe for 3 qquarters, but unfortunately our young small legs got heavy and we run out of steam. The lads should be proud of how well they used the ball in very wet and rough condions kicking 6 goals straight and from any posion was fantasc to see. Our best players for the day were Archer, Benne, Noah, Riley, Cali and Tatye. Also thank you to the boys who filled in for us to allow us to get a game and Robe for lending us a couple players also.

B Grade: What a terrible day to play football with the wind and rain but

A Grade: Our annual trip to Robe was a wet and windy one but to Robe’s credit they had the lights on early and the oval was in good condion given the circumstances. We came into the game missing some key personnel but with that, opportunies open up for others to step up to present at senior level. We congratulate Brady Marshall on his first game for the Nangwarry Saints - injury delayed his debut but finally he got his chance and performed well for his first game. Robe made the most of the strong wind in the first quarter however we were happy with our posion at quarter me keeping within striking distance and didn't capitalise on some good movement to our forward line into the wind. Unfortunately the second quarter we did not take advantage of the strong wind and failed to impact the scoreboard. Aer the break we moved the magnets around and connued to run the game out to the end. We could not queson the players endeavour and despite the strong wind and the current form of Robe we were able to restrict the opposion to only 8 second half goals. Best player for the day was Josh "Mr Haveachat" Smith who made a welcome return to the side, Tyler "Buers" Virgo, Logan "The Tank" Gibbs, Ma "The Nullifier" Pra, Johnno "Foss" Mills and Joel "Rozee" Virtanen. This week we venture to Mt Burr and we look forward to the challenge. We look forward to seeing our large band of supporters make the trip to Mt Burr and strongly encourage everyone to purchase a raffle cket at the gate with all proceeds going towards support systems for Zac Watson. Zac, although not surprising, your posive outlook and determinaon is an inspiraon to us all and we know you will "tackle" all before you and make one hell of a future for yourself adding to what already is a long list of everlasng achievements.

Well, just like that it's round 10 of the MSE season and all teams face off against each other once again. A big first half of the season for all teams. We've had several interleague representaves, plenty of popular social funcons, lots of successful teams so far and even a proposed new league structure for 2024. Let's hope these next 9 rounds aren't the last for the MidSouth East compeon.

Last week we welcomed Kalangadoo to the Mecca with our home game sponsor being Bi-Rite Mount Gambier. The weather turned out to be the worst day of the year so far with rain pouring down all day, so the Magpies were right at home. We came away with 2 wins from both our junior sides. This round we host Pt Mac with our home game sponsor being Maloney Plumbing.

Junior Colts: The junior colts played a tremendous game to finish the halfway mark at 7 and 1. Their fight for a top 2 finish is going well and truly on the right track. A few tough games are coming up now, but if they keep playing the way they have been, then no one will stop them. We ended up running put to a 122-0 point win. Goal kickers were spread out again this week, but Tom Richards extended his lead on the goal kicking tally with 5 himself. Best players were Hamish Gordon, Kallan Price, Tighe Hurley, Les Jaggar, Bailey Dale and Tyler Fiegert.

Senior Colts: The senior colts came up against and a short-handed Kalangadoo side, so we rotated a few of our players through their team. We were also a lile short on numbers so adding this to the weather made it look like a 9-a-side footy game from the sidelines. There was plenty of place for players to run around and use some speed, unfortunately the condions didn't allow for bouncing the ball too much. The first half was close, but we were able to run away with it in the second half to win 91 to 20. Kaleb Price kicked 6. Best players were Lachlan Brierley, Marcus McGrath, Tyler Rothall, Declan Mutch, Patrick Langsmith

and Kaleb Price.

B Grade: The Reserves were significantly short on numbers this week. With only 10 players on the park and the rest senior colts. Many senior colts could then also not make the field so this meant we could manage to get 14 on the park. We are begging our players to commit to each week and get any mates they can to come out and play. We came up against a very good side and the condions had dried up for parts of the Reserves. We appreciate the Kalangadoo blokes for taking numbers off the field to make the numbers even, a true testament to the family league. We ended up going down 2-172. Hopefully the boys can find the 1st win in the second half of the year

A Grade: The Seniors needed a huge improvement from the shocking display they put up last game. Thankfully that's what we got for the first 3 quarters. We were in the game for nearly the whole match and were only down by 1 goal at 3 quarter me. In the very wet condions, we had no opon but to try and move the ball fast and run. This played to our benefit when going forward. We were outnumbered with the amount of inside 50s we conceded, but our backline held up well all game. In the last quarter we went all in for the win but gave away a few goals and couldn't catch up, losing 46-82. A great effort though and we need this intent and effort against the lower sides. Best players were Zacc Cocks, Tom Edwards, Patrick Mitchell, Dylan Pfitzner, Jack Edmonds and Alex Hentschke. Word has it that our Ruckman suffered from food poisoning the morning of the game as he was inspired by Chrisan Petracca to film his own cooking show on Snapchat and couldn't even cook sausages. Junior Colts: Last week had us come up against a determined Hatherleigh side. We knew that they were going to be a strong opposion as their record has been improving all season and they certainly connued with that form against us. The first quarter had us kicking with the breeze. We tended to be second to the footy and prepared to chase rather than the other way around. Our backline stood strong and rebounded each of their aacking moves. We were able to then get a goal on the board against the run of play which was pleasing. We addressed a couple of issues at quarter me and to the teams credit we came out firing kicking 3 goals into the wind. It was great to see the team respond like they did. Rain started to pour through the second quarter and changed the way the game was played, now looking to gain territory and keep pressure on. It become a real tussle aer halime and scoring dried up for both teams as the condions worsened but the group grounded out a solid 5 goal win. Award winners this week went to Gracie, Zane, Naite, Brody, Harri K and Beau.

Senior Colts: Aer a few weeks off footy, we travelled down to Hatherleigh for our next challenge. The game was played in the worst condions of the day; however, this didn't stop the boys from playing some good footy, with the 1st quarter arguably one of the best for the year. Geng the jump early was important and the boys connued to ck off our team goals throughout the day to come away with a handy win, Pt Mac 49 to Hatherleigh 11. It was a good display of what the group is capable of when they have their minds on the job. Best players sponsored by Mark & Simmone Whan, Luke Richards, who was everywhere and despite condions was sll silky. Aidan Telford out on the wing showed how to get in and have a go and play hard footy. Skipper Riley Morgan does what he does and went about his business leading from the front as always. Archie New was composed as always with a cool head down back, using the ball well despite condions, Jack Kain who has had a consistent year down back, being selfless and doing the team first footy acts always. Casey Wilson worked relessly all day to connue his good season. This week we head up to Glencoe for what will no doubt be another challenge for the boys.

2023 sa country netball championships

The Mid South East Netball Associaon has just returned from the 2023 Country Championships, taking out the B Grade tle and finishing Runner-Up in 17 & Under Division 2.

The Senior team defeated Western Border in the semi-final 29-26 (Best: Annie Regnier & Lara Munro) and went on to defeat Western Eyre 27-21 taking out the Championship in the B Grade. Talented goaler Abbey Duncan was selected in the Top 10 Players of the Carnival.

All junior teams made finals with 13 & Under being defeated in the quarter finals by Yorke Peninsula 14-26 (Best: Tess Gibbons & Layla Hawke).

15 & Under finished the minor round in Division 1 but unfortunately went down to Port Lincoln in the quarters 14-26 (Best: Molly Cushion & Chloe Peacock).

17 & Under finished Runners-Up in Division 2 to KNT 16-19 (Best: Ella Easterby & Georgia Genle) aer defeang Barossa Light & Gawler in the quarters 25-22 (Best: Ella Easterby & Jasmine Holland) and Port Lincoln in the semi-final 27-17 (Best: Lara Wilson & Bella Poulish).

Glencoe Netball Club congratulate Abbie Cocks on her 250th club game

Coming from a prominent Glencoe sporng family, Abbie commenced her compeve netball career in 2007, as part of the U13 side. A quiet and unassuming player, Abbie goes about her netball with a minimum of fuss but possesses great skill and is able to get the job done under pressure - watching her sink goals from anywhere in the goal circle is awesome to watch

Highlights of Abbie's career include playing with her mum Jacqui in 2014 in B Grade and taking out League Best & Fairest for B Reserve in 2018. In the same year she picked up the Club Best & Fairest, the Muzzy Schultz Memorial Trophy and her team won the premiership flag. She also picked up the Club Best & Fairest for A Reserve last year

Off the court Abbie is always one to help out and is a regular umpire, having gained her C Badge in recent years. She has also helped out by previously being the Umpire Co-ordinator, has coached junior sides for numerous years and has also been Club Secretary for the past few years.

Laura started playing compeve netball in 2007 as part of the 13&U team. This would be the only year that she did not collect a Best & Fairest or runner up in her junior career. 2008 saw her collect runner up for 13&U and every year following she nabbed Best & Fairest through 13&U, 15&U and 17&U consecuvely

2010 saw Laura rewarded with B&F in both 13&U and 15&U, an amazing feat very rarely seen and in 2011 she made her A Grade debut. For the next few years she would play juniors and hit the court when needed in A Grade also, before taking up a permanent posion in the team in 2014. While Laura may be prey quiet on the court, she is known for always giving 100% and providing great drive down the court and either feeding into the circle or shoong herself. This year sees her as part of the A Reserve side

Laura is part of the Edwards family who are very well known for giving their me to both the netball and football club over and over again. Whether it be filling in on the court, being on the commiee, coaching or in the canteen, you will always see Laura around the club helping out where needed. Glencoe Netball Club congratulate Briany Liebich on her 50th club game this weekend.

Bri came to Glencoe in 2019 to join her sister Caitlin who had been playing for a few years. Since then she has been a part of both B Grade and B Reserve sides taking home the joint B Reserve Best & Fairest in 2021.

You will normally find Bri in the goal circle adding on to the team score but she has been known to pull on a defender bib before.

Glencoe Netball Club congratulate Chloe Pfitzner on playing her 50th senior game this weekend.

Chloe played her first compeve game for Glencoe in 2014 as part of the 13 & Under side before joining the 15 & Under side the following year and featuring in trophy collecons for the next few years.

In 2015 and 2016 she won the 15 & Under R/Up Best & Fairest for the club, before taking the B&F honours in 2017 and 2018 as part of the 17 & Under team. She also collected the R/Up B&F in 2019 for 17 & Under

She is a strong defender who always puts her opponent under pressure and this year is a part of the A Grade side. Chloe has been a part of the A Reserve or A Grade teams since permanently joining the senior ranks in 2021.

Chloe has previously put her hand up to coach junior sides and will always fill in where required. Well done Chloe and congratulaons.

KONGORONG vs KALANGADOO

Kalangadoo head to Kongorong to face off again in the second half of the season. Kalangadoo defenders Lauren Kain and Lara Munro will work hard in the circle for the Pies, fighng for any rebounds. Kongorong goalies Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey have proven to be strong under the post, and accurate within the circle, but will need to fight for every ball under the pressure of the Magpie’s defenders. Rach Perry and Chloe Peacock will fight hard through the court for every ball, being influenal for their respecve sides throughout the game. Emily Lightbody and Riley Buckingham combine well in the defensive circle for the Hawks but will need to stop the ball before it reaches the hands of Ebony McDiarmid in the goal circle, needing to shut down Abbey Duncan from outside the circle. Kalangadoo will come away with the win, however Kongorong will keep the pressure on for the whole game.

ROBE vs TANTANOOLA

Robe host Tantanoola as they face off again aer a ght game earlier in the season. Tantanoola’s Kate Varcoe and Robe’s Annie Regnier will fight hard from the first whistle for their respecve teams, working up and down the court to create turnovers and chase up any loose balls. Tantanoola defenders Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe combine well in the circle, geng hands to balls and creang turnovers, meaning that Robe’s Tori Gluyas and Demi Carter will need to move well and be fed with accuracy from outside the circle. Down the other end of the court Tantanoola’s goalies Emma Gould and Keryl Ousey are able to use their height to their advantage in the circle but will have a lot of pressure applied from Robe’s Emma Wheal and Ellen Ramke. This game has the potenal to be close and went the way of the Roosters in round one, but both teams have the potenal to come away with the points.

MOUNT BURR vs NANGWARRY

Mount Burr host Nangwarry this weekend aer two weeks off Both teams will come out firing, fighng hard for every possession. Ebony Clark and Lauren Wheeler have proven to work well together in the circle for the Mozzies, with both being accurate throughout the circle and fighng hard for possession. The defensive pressure of Kayla Gray and Carly Ploenges for the Saints will make it hard for Mount Burr’s aack line to feed into the circle, creang turnovers where possible. Nangwarry’s Cassie Dinnison is able to feed into goalies Hayley Vanderhorst and Thalia Wilson with ease. The pressure from Mount Burr’s Megan Thiele and Olivia Dean will make it hard to feed into the circle, geng hands to balls and rebounding any missed opportunies. This game will likely go the way of the Mozzies, however Nangwarry won’t go down without a fight.

GLENCOE vs PORT MACDONNELL

Aer a close game in round one both the Murphies and the Demons will be fighng to get the win this weekend at Glencoe. Port MacDonnell’s Alysha Coon and Alana Berkefeld work well together and create a lot of turnovers in the defensive circle for the Demons, meaning that Glencoe’s goalies Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks will need to ensure their accuracy and connue to move well with each other. Glencoe defenders, Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen, will fight hard to limit the opportunies of the Demons goalies, Kori Collins and Megan Hein. Liza Mutch and Shannon Scheidl will work hard through the midcourt for Port Mac, fighng hard for every ball under the pressure of Donna Jaeschke and Alice Tentye. This game has the potenal to go either way and could be a close one once again.

Junior 2: Really tough condions for the junior girls today. While most of you were home tucked up bed, the J2’s were baling it out in sub zero temperatures against the Tant Tigers. It was a good contest in both the 1st and 2nd halves, with some great passages of play in offence. We were parcularly strong defensively too, with every girl picking up their player and defending the pass when the ball was in the opposion’s aack. Great overall team contribuons today, which as a junior coach, is what you want to see. We are showing gradual improvement in our skills, with minimal stepping and some excellent leads to the ball. If we can up the ante in these areas, we will be sure to get some wins on the board in the second half of the season. Thank you to the parents/carers who braved the cold and provided support to the team. Really proud of every girl’s atude today too, with no one grizzling or geng upset about not being able to feel their extremies! Best players went to Sienna and Maya (both McDonalds vouchers).

13 & Under: Bad luck today girls. The weather was defiantly not our side. We have a few injuries this week so some girls had to have a go at different posions. We tried our hardest and with the condions that’s all that I ask. Score 18-30. Best players Abby Brant (Zambero), Paige Telford (Fasta Pasta).

15 & Under: What a wet and wild game! Condions were definitely not in our favour today but we sll played well enough to have a win! Couple of changes throughout the game but you all did so well to adjust. Lets do our best to get some work done at training and be even beer. Score 21-16. Best players Holly Awill (Arena), Addison Graney (Fasta Pasta).

17 & Under: Bad luck today girls, only went down by 2 but it was very tough wet condions which just caused us to fumble the ball a few mes resulng in turnovers. We know we’re more than capable of beang the 3 teams above us so this second half of the season will be our strong push to prove ourselves. Best players: Jasmin McKinnon –Zambreros, Jordy Heraper – Lima and Co.

B Reserve: We did a great job considering the weather. We

started off really well and were up by 1 going into half me. I should have stuck to my plan and played you in the posions I had set for you instead of making the change at half me. We did regroup but couldn’t keep up with Tantanoola and their steady play. Amie was outstanding in defence with a touch on most balls and mulple turnovers, Amber, Julie & Marnee played a strong game through the centre court. We were also a lot more open with our space which was great to see. Our training in this area is paying off. Courtney and Tamika worked well together in the goal circle and Izzy tried hard all game. Thanks to Thalia for benching for us and having to come on cold in the last quarter, good job. Awards: Amie – F45, Courtney – Confessions.

B Grade: A tricky day today in less than ideal condions. The week off did not help our girls aer 2 fantasc wins and we struggled to convert goals in the first quarter. A valiant effort by the girls to rally and claw back the margin but unfortunately it wasn’t enough on the day. Training this week might be ‘nasty’ hey Mons! Best players were Lyl Page (Confession) and Sarah Lucas (Periwinkles). Onward and upward girls! You’ve got this!

A Reserve: What a great start to the game! We started firing with a new look line up. Each quarter we came out firing and I hope next week we can build on this combinaon to bring that energy into a four quarter effort. Great communicaon around the court. A Grade: Fantasc effort today girls. I am glad we came off the court feeling just as posive and opmisc as we went into the game. Everyone played consistently and well and we were able to adjust to peaks and valleys of the game. Defensive pressure across the court was fantasc and we took care of the ball in aack and converted. Best today could’ve gone to anyone but it went to Rach Perry (Birdie Blue), Emily Lightbody (Confessions) and Jas McKinnon (Zambreros) for a fantasc game in seniors.

Junior 2: The mini magpies played so well in the cold and wet condions. Everyone got a full game with less than usual numbers, and everyone soldiered through even when the weather didn't lay up at all. I am so proud of you all and the improvements every week. The footwork is really coming along, and the hungry hippo is coming out in the kids now also. Not forgeng to "float the boat" and clear our to create space is the next big learning curve but these girls are well on the way. Willow got Fasta Pasta what a great game and Olivia also played amazing defence for the Wendy's award.

Junior 1: Today showed us how much of a winter sport netball really can be. In wet and cold condions, these girls never gave up, despite freezing hands! Thanks to Olivia, Zali and Charlie who all stepped up and did a fantasc effort to help us get a team on court. Adele and Harper played so well together in defence while Charloe and Milla put in big efforts in aack to get the ball to our end. Aurora connued to amaze me with her unique but accurate shoong style and took home the Kalangadoo Cap for this week. Ashley worked hard all over the court all game earning her the McDonalds award. Well done everyone!

13 & Under: In one of our toughest games for the season with terrible weather condions, the girls had to fight hard for every possession. It was good to see the determinaon of all players to fight back when we were down. Malda (The Property Co) and Emmity (Kalangadoo award) were strong in goals and Ava (McDonald’s) ran hard at centre. Tekani and Lexie connue to impress with their work rate and Molly got lots of intercepts. Zara fed the goalies well and it was great to see Ella keep trying all game. A solid win in the end, well done Maggies.

15 & Under: Today we played really well as a team and it was pleasing to see the girls put into pracce the things we have been working on at training. Shayden, Kiersten and Lucy all combined and shot really well in goals. Chloe and Ava provided great pressure up the court allowing Maya, Molly and Zoe to intercept the ball and push us

into aack. Great first half of the season.

17 & Under: Our u17s lost 54-26 against a strong Glencoe side. The girls have shown some real improvements this season and their compeveness was pleasing today. Special menon to Ash and Abby who baled hard all day to limit Glencoe’s opportunies. Keep working girls.

B Reserve: On an extremely wet and cold day, the B Res girls played well as a team. Maddie S dominated the goal circle (pharmacy award) and Rosie played a phenomenal game in mulple posions. With a few new changes, the girls adapted and played well as a team. Great effort girls.

B Grade: Good effort today girls, in terrible weather condions and 3 of our players out we sll gave it our all and that’s all we can ask for. We had some good passages of play and our defence worked relessly to gain turnovers. Thank you to Abby Thompson, Eb Wurst and Jodi Greenwood for filling in for us we appreciate it! A Reserve: A good outcome from a not so prey day both in weather and game. We have had a slightly messy start to the year and are now really finding our feet and with that comes some teething issues parcularly with flow of movement. We had some nice patches of netball. With Sophie, Lucy and Jamie all feeding well from the circle edge and delivering nicely to Georgia and Gina. Shanae, Re and Georgia turned the ball over repevely to create opportunies down the court. Best this week Shanae (Melzars) and Jamie (Muffin Break).

A Grade: Great team effort to maintain a high work rate for four quarters in unpleasant weather condions. Eb and Ab were on song. Jane’s weekend running sessions are paying dividends with plenty of nice passages of play. Lara and Loz created plenty of opportunies for the aack line. 16. The Roosters had a great team game, playing in cold and wet condions the team kept posive and movated to play their best. The shooters were accurate, moving well into the circle and receiving well-placed passes from the mid-court. Our defensive pressure was strong down the court, every player working hard to get a turnover. With the rains coming and going, the team played a controlled game, seng in a strong lead from the start. Calcua went to Annie (Woodsoak Wines) and Incenve went to Georgia (Woodsoak Wines).

A Reserve: Robe 65 def Nangwarry

13. The A Reserves girls adapted quickly to the cold and wet condions, playing in front and working the ball with paence down the court. Ash, Emilie and Sarah shot well in wet condions and played an agile circle. Our defenders played off the body, geng turnovers and shung down the opposion shooters. The girls are halfway through the season and undefeated, we are looking forward to maintaining our posion on the ladder leading into finals. Calcua went to Kim Ross (Woodsoak Wines) and Incenve went to Sarah Laurie (Woodsoak Wines).

B Grade: Robe 49 def Nangwarry

16. A good win in blustery condions. Great to have Ames back in the goals. It didn't take much seling to get the aack end back to pumping. The pressure in the mid court was impressive by the enre team willing to have a go. Keelin, Lily and Jadeo connue to build strength in mulple posions. Our defence were hampered in their efforts a lile by the whistle, and this is somemes nothing new Frustrang but if we keep our eye on the end of the season, it's only a hiccup along the way. Our scinllang sisters connue to build rapport and I could see the covering of space happening a bit more. It was a good game to get under the belt moving into the second round. Calcua Lily (Woodsoak Wines) and Incenve Amy (Woodsoak Wines) for geng back the mojo.

16. The weather gods were on B Reserves side today. Aer watching it rain hard all morning, we were a bit dubious about stepping out the door. From the first whistle our girls worked methodically passing the ball down the court. Waing unl the play was there and really thinking about the next move. Shoong goals in that wind was no easy fete and the Emma and Jess did amazingly. Kellie and Olivia worked hard in D which resulted many turnovers and the final score shows it. Calcua went to Emma

17 & Under: Robe 41 def Nangwarry 16. The weather was not on our side today. It was awful, the girls came out fighng with a good lead in the first quarter. They kept going despite the rain and kept their lead the whole game. We made mulple changes at each quarter with fresh legs going in and keeping our lead growing. Best player went to Adelle (Millicent Sportspower) for a great game in defence, she is finally starng to use her longs arms. Incenve went to Sienna (Millicent Sportspower), for a great game in goals and her the determinaon throughout.

15 & Under: Robe 24 def by Nang 25. Terrible condions to play in today, especially for our hard working goalies. We fought hard all game, in a ghtly contested match, that could have gone either way. I am proud of you all for fighng back in last quarter to only go down by one goal. Olivia Birchall was a powerhouse in the backline with tones of intercepons and rebounds, earning herself best player (Millicent Sportspower). Kaitley presented as an opon all game in centre, leading in front and passing well into the goal ring to be awarded the player incenve (Millicent Sportspower). We wish Olivia C a speedy recovery aer suffering a bad concussion. Next week we look forward to playing Tant.

13 & Under: Robe 15 def by Nangwarry 27. Awards: Millicent Sportspower. Today was a tough day, you all played really well considering the weather was horrible. Today our passes were very good, and we led in front of the ball. Cold fingers made for hard work, but you didn't give up for four quarters. Thank you for the two U15's that filled in. Our best players went to Lacey Brooks (Woodsoak Wines) and Livia Jess (Woodsoak Wines).

Junior 1: It didn't rain today, it poured! The girls did incredibly well to get themselves out on the court this morning considering the condions, having to call it short the weather got that bad. A big thank you to Sophie for coaching for me today. Incenve went to a very deserving Lexi (SE Excavaons).

Junior 2: Great effort girls! We got the first goal of the game – well done Addy! Everyone tried really hard and picked up lots of loose balls. It was great teamwork by everyone, playing in wet condions! Next week we're going to work on coming in front of our players and keep on moving. Well done girls –you're all improving each week! Junior 2: Despite your freezing cold numb fingers, it was a great game girls! We worked on some new skills at training and it was great to see them implemented on the court! Our flow is geng beer, but as always, there are a few things we need to work on at training e.g. be as loud on game day as you girls are at training!! Let's have a strong second half of the season! Best players went to Lacey R and Shelbi! Great game girls, both did everything I asked and had so much fight for the ball!

Junior 1: Really pleased with the girls determined atude to put in 100% effort even though they were all FREEZING. Nyree (Fasta Pasta) connues to shine. Chiara, Pippa and Lidia all showing signs of pung into pracce what we so at training with solid games. Shelbi and Gracie both received Coaches awards (Devine Gis) for their efforts. Must also menon Stella and Zahli (some lovely passes too) for their defensive work – things oen unnoced by spectators but certainly not by your coach!

13 & Under: What a brilliant team effort resulng in the girls second win for the season. A wet, cold and miserable day at Kongorong, but the girls all kept going despite the condions and pung in 100%. Excellent driving through the centre by Jaycie, Renae and Kailee, strong pressure defence creang many turnovers from Tamika, Emie, Summer and Apsara, and brilliant shoong from Olivia and Peyton. All the girls received an award today, as each and every one of them deserved it. Well done girls, you are geng beer and beer every week.

15 & Under: Today was a win for us even though we lost and if it wasn't for a rough start in the first quarter it would have been a win. I felt like Madi and I prepped you well with a solid warm up prior to game but it took us sll a quarter to get into rhythm. Since the first half of the season we have improved so much and at mes I feel that I may be a bit tough on you all but I feel you need this to move forward. I hope you are all feeling good about how far you have come and keep working hard for the second half of the season. Fasta Pasta award Ebony, Wendy's award Poppy.

17 & Under: A tough day in the wet but the girls stuck it out all game. Everyone did their jobs despite tricky playing condions. Our defensive efforts all over

court were great and we played as a team. A really good job girls, another win on the board to end the first round. This weeks awards went to Holly Walker (KFC) and Kaitlin Thomas (Fasta Pasta).

B Grade: Aer a week off we had a bit of work to do to get ourselves back and ready to play in what was the worst weather we have had so far. The girls trained hard this week and we had gone through numerous amounts of work to focus on individual goals each girl was given. They came out firing with a strong start, worked hard and played together as team. Our defenders were strong, light on there feet and turned the ball over numerous mes. Mid court played smart, made good decisions and focused on there passes in the wet weather Goalies held strong, worked the circle and shot very well. Best players went to Kristy Varcoe and Indianna Marshall.

A Reserve: In terrible condions trying to play netball the girls managed to sele rather quickly Great passages of play throughout the game allowed for easy movement of the ball. Dakota and Shelby were sll able to convert in the windy condions. They were well supported by Krystal in WA and Madi in C, who both ran hard for the game. Bella in WD once again for her hands to numerous balls off the centre pass. Defensive end saw Leah hit the court at GK and had an immediate impact turning over most balls that come her way. Lucy's run at GD has the ability create smooth transion to the aack end. Best: LeahTantanoola tea voucher and Shelby - F45.

A Grade: Aer a very slow first quarter with Tayla (F45 award) taking some mely intercepts we were able to push on in the second. Our paence in feeding in aack and moving around the ring was pleasing to see. Casey took some great intercepts and played well to receive the Heaven on a Hanger. Our big focus going forward is to reduce our own errors and reap the rewards.

Junior 2: What a fantasc game! You all have improved so much. Your fight for the ball was excellent, chasing up every loose ball and giving it your all on the defensive end. Our offense stepped up and really showed what great leaders you all have become, sharing the ball around and geng everyone involved. I loved how everyone who played goals made one today due to great teamwork in the goals circle. Thank you to Laura who filled in umpiring for us. The Donut King voucher went to Lacey who played with such confidence and shot some great goals. The Sports Power drink bole went to Zariah who has really worked on her moving in front and calling for the ball.

Junior 1: Great game today by everyone! We got stronger and stronger as the game went on, once we knew we had to come front in slippery condions. It was great to see more shoulder passes and some great transions down the court. I'm proud of you all for taking on feedback during the game. 15 & Under: Great job today girls, the pressure and paence all over the court was amazing. The slippery courts definitely had some part to play in todays game but you all didn't let that stop you chasing aer every ball. The defensive line got their hands to a lot of balls which brought the confidence out in the girls in aack to finish the shots at the other end. Well done to the mid court for a strong and controlled game. You all worked together to get the win today great work. Our awards today went to Sarah Sigston (Wendy's), Lola Shultz (Donut King), Gemma Salo (Sports Power).

17 & Under: Another good win on the board. Was great to see you all working on small steps to run through the ball when aempng to take intercepons. This allowed us to have more opportunity to take the ball cleanly. Macy, Makaylah and Tilly showed the difference it makes when you work closely with your aacking players to block out under the ring. Ella, Olivia, Jemma and Oliviah drove well into aack demonstrang the importance of being on circle edge to feed the goalies. Was great to see Olivia gain some defensive turnovers at WD. Working on ancipang where the ball might go helped all our defence make important intercepons. Jasmine and Ashlee connued to combine well in the goal circle. The one thing we can all work on when we have possession is ming our leads and ensuring we are passing the safe pass to limit the pressure we are pung on our team mates. Well done on connuing to work on the small things to improve your game. Jasmine (Fasta Pasta) and Olivia (Donut King) were our award winners for this week. A Reserve: Taking on top of the ladder Robe today was going to be a tough bale. A great game with lots of posives even though we didn't get the points. We had a fantasc first quarter keeping up with Robe being 3 goals in it going in to the second quarter. We've sll got a few things to work on when brining the ball down court. Impressive defensive pressure from Layla and Maddie once again. Jas and Maddie worked reless in aack, rebounding and fighng for the missed shot to go again also Heidi fing in to goals in the last half working with Maddi in the circle. Abbey and Lilly working hard creang space and giving support on the circle. Macy coming on in the second half pung pressure on the WA stopping her drive and geng hands to balls. A Grade: Our final game of the round seen us take on the Roosters. Another tough game from the get go. We had a great first quarter, with the scores level at the break. We kept up the fight throughout the second, coming off at half me only down by a few. The ght defensive pressure down the court and accuracy in the goal ring for the last two quarters allowed them to connue growing their lead and take home the win. We had many great passages of play throughout the game, but Robe were just too strong. Our best players for the week went to our young gun Ella Easterby and the versale Caitlyn Payne. The next two weeks off with 2 byes in a row will allow us to regroup and come back stronger for the second half of the season!

We are now half way through the 2023 season, well done everyone. On that wet, rainy day, the enthusiasm of the netball players in Robe remained undeterred. Dark clouds blanketed the sky, releasing a steady downpour that transformed the courts into a glistening stage for their wet and challenging game. Thank you to Robe for suppling an umpire for the A grade game we appreciate Trish stepping up and helping us out.

This Saturday is the Saints Ball and we look forward to seeing you all glammed up for a night of dancing. Tickets are sll available online.

Junior 2: Today's game was one of the highlights for this season so far Everyone played super, well even with the cold and wet condions. We managed to get 4 goals this week which is our new highest score. Picking best players this week was very difficult since all the girls played really well, best players were Scarle for her shoong and defence work in the circle and Mia for her work geng the ball down the court and always being an opon.

Junior 1: What a horrible day girls, was not nice for you all very wet and cold. I'm so glad you all pushed through it and played well. We swapped around a bit and everyone adjusted and played well where ever I put them. We came to the ball well and moved the ball around well all down the court. Defence was strong all over the court and you all took intercepons everywhere. Let's hope condions are a lile beer today Team effort for this game.

13 & Under: Awesome game guys despite the horrible weather condions. It was excing to get another win on the board! We just need to remember to use our voices and have direct passes. Thank you to Izzy and Asha for filling in once again! Best players were Darcy and Ruby for giving 100% all game, with James receiving the award for doing his best in a new posion.

15 & Under: In wet and windy condions we really struggled to adjust especially in the first quarter where we only scored one goal for the quarter Kiara moving into goals gave us the drive and focus point we needed to ensure we improved in the second. We connued to improved and had a beer third quarter, being out best by far Robe won three quarters of netball with us only outscoring them in the third. We struggled again in the last quarter with Robe outscoring us and scored being even for most of the quarter. We were lucky to get the win. A posive was Holly in defence geng intercepon and hands to many balls. Hopefully with beer condions this week we can play at our best to try and turn the results against Mt Burr

17 & Under: What a day hey girls!

Whilst it definitely wasn't our best game I don't think there was much

more we could do in the condions. You all kept going and didn't give up and that's all I can ask for. Eadie played a cracker of a game in both WA and WD We are now at the second half of the year. Let's work on a few set ups and drills and trainings and we will see how much we have improved from last round! Best players Eadie and Emily

B Reserve: There were so many great passages of play in the first half but our second half let us down. We need to remember to back ourselves, remember the basics and take our me and play our game. Maxi you worked so well geng around those defenders with such a challenge in height. Our defence was once again solid, geng hands to so many turnovers, Jessie you played amazing in WD geng so close each me just remember to have confidence in yourself. Well done Davina for running our game in C you did amazing and didn't step down and held your own for the whole game. Best players Tamara Shepherd and Jessie Jennings.

B Grade: Bad luck, girls. It was indeed a challenging game played in the rain. Despite the unfavourable condions, each and every one of you showed incredible determinaon and put in a tremendous amount of effort. Your hard work and resilience were evident throughout the match. Let's start the second half of the 2023 season on a high and connue to improve.

A Reserve: We knew Robe was going to be a challenge, and on top of that challenge was the weather, however with ancipaon and determinaon, we stepped onto the court, ready to give it our best. As the first quarter began, our passes were precise, and shots found their mark. However, as the game progressed, the challenge grew more formidable. Robe regrouped and launched a relentless comeback. Their defence ghtened, intercepng passes and disrupng our rhythm. Despite our best efforts, paence and talk the third quarter proved to be a challenging hurdle. Fague set in, and the Robe's taccs intensified. The game had become a physical and mental test. We learnt a valuable lessons in perseverance and teamwork. Lyndall and Brit worked hard all game in defence, Teresa and Tamara ran hard in the middle and Jenna and Ella persisted in trying condions for goalies. Thank you too Zoe and Shandeen for playing a half each.

A Grade: In terrible weather condions we actually had some really good passages of play. Not really a goalie day with the wind, but in aack we were a lot more paent and moved ball around unl we found space to pass. Goalies worked hard posioning and reposioning under some tough opposion. Defence worked hard all game and really came into in the last half turning over many balls and working overme to bring ball down. Centre area aer first quarter were more paent with passing and ulised the circle as well. Scarle in her first game of A grade really had a great go and played a great game, well done. Junior 2: Wow everyone! You all played your best games today! It was great to watch, and luckily we missed the rain! Bella and Ruby J, it was great to see you feet come off the ground and get lots of touches. Ruby O, your talk around the ring was great to hear. Billy and Paige F did some great shoong and rebounding. Indianna C, that was your best game and you got lots of touches and intercepts. Charloe B did some great running and playing the space with lots of touches. Encouragement Award went to Isabella B - you're the shortest on the team, but you didn't give up in defence. Best player went to Paige F (LICO Pty Ltd) - you listened to everything and kept trying to get in front of your player. Again, well done everyone!

Junior 1: Well done girls on a tough game with the weather condions making it very hard. Our second quarter was fantasc and there were some lovely passages of play. Best players went to Abbie (Metalworx) & Jaylee.

13 & Under: Fantasc game today girls in some very cold and wet condions. Although we didn't get the win, we played an amazing game and kept up with Kalangadoo all game. The defensive pressure from all girls was great which created many turnovers in all areas of the court. You should all be very proud of your efforts. First best today went to Layla (Dycer Construcon) for a consistent 4 quarters going hard at the play and creang many turnovers. Second best went to Emma for a strong game in WA leading to the ball well and having strong hands when the ball was passed to her Third best went to Hallie for moving well in the circle and down the court and not giving up. Again, great game girls and let's keep the momentum going.

15 & Under: Great effort today girls. Defence worked well together with geng fingers ps to balls. We found it hard to find the corridor down the court but aer half me the ball moved with a lile more ease. Shooters moved well within the ring having to come front for passes. First best went to Mckayla (Maloney Plumbing) who worked hard trying to get front and chased many loose balls, she kept fighng for posion and possession. Second best went to Kloe Philips playing GD not a usual posion for her, she applied great pressure in the defensive line up, moving back into centre she helped find drive down the court and voice. Third best went to Sienna Hawke who went from aack to defence and converted well, creang many turnovers. Great team effort today girls.

17 & Under: A strong start in wintery wet condions in a great team effort girls. In the first half, Lara was oen first opon on center passes with Zoe controlling the mid-court and loads of well-placed passing from both into Alyssa and Lilly who then finished accurately. In defence, Giaan and Caitlin worked to posion themselves well and, along with Jena, created turnovers to go into the break with a comfortable lead. In the second half Montana and Kayla stepped in and along with a several other changes you all adjusted and connued working together Lara controlled play in aack, Caitlin did a great job on the wing and Giaan and Kayla got some well earned intercepts in the circle. Awards this week to Lara (Degaris Lawyers), Giaan and Caitlin. Look forward to more of the same in the second round.

B Reserve: Great effort girls! I'm very proud of our game today, our individual efforts and the way we worked together

We went down by only five in wet, windy condions and to the top team, which is a great effort. There was a very posive, encouraging feeling in our team throughout the four quarters. The game also showed that we have come a long way together since the first game and the second half of the season is looking very encouraging. We can hope to get a few more wins! First best (Key2Sale) went to Karli for her efforts up and transioning to both ends of the court. Second best went to Ryleigh for being a consistent opon down the court and versality, with a great turn in centre. Well done girls! Thank you to Caitlyn for sing on our bench, much appreciated!

B Grade: 51-39. Super effort to come away with the win against the top team. The weather provided horrible playing condions but we played a controlled game, working it in to the goalies. Our first quarter was a great start to the game and we kept working from there. We had a couple of messy patches, but all in all, a very good game from everyone. Best players went to Kate (24/7 Car & Dog Wash) for shung down their goalies and helping to control the game the whole way down the court and Giaan for filling in, geng touches and great intercepts all game long, and looking like she belongs in the team. Congratulaons to Bri Liebich who is playing her 50th Club Game milestone!

A Reserve: Great effort girls, we couldn't quite get the points we needed but we gave it a red-hot crack. It was a physical game and I think we held our own, but I think we just let ourselves down in the last 5 minutes of the last quarter and let them run away with it. We need to keep our heads high and have the confidence as a team that we can turn it around. On a posive note, there were many things to take away from today's game with some great passages of play, huge defensive pressure over the whole court and great backing up. Tam’s leadership on court saw her get best player (B&P Travel and Cruise) and her voice down back was vital. Sammy and Jorja had some handy touches and made their players work for every possession. Some great drives and passing in aack, we just have to remember our fakes and to have faith in one another's ability to take a pass when it's on. Let's go out there today, re-group and get a win on the board to show that we are true finals contenders. Thanks, Kayla, for sing on our bench. A Grade: A disappoinng performance from us. We knew that Kalangadoo were going to come out with the intensity that they did and we just weren't ready for it on the day. The score could have been much closer but we just let ourselves down with some skill errors. We were inaccurate at the post and unable to get our own rebounds. We need to keep focusing on our decision making and not force an opon that puts our teammates under too much pressure. I want everyone to think of this game as a learning curve and be more prepared for any tough games in the second round. We are a good team and need to play with posivity and fight for a full four quarters. Best players were Donna (O'Brien Electrical) and Chloe for their efforts in defence. Let's be commied and work hard at training to put out a strong performance for the second half of the season. Thank you to Chloe for ming and Malinda for scoring. NETball club notes

Round 9 saw Hatherleigh host Port MacDonnell for the annual MND round. The netball club would like to acknowledge B Grade players Kelly and Montanna Millard who parcipated in the dunk tank event, whilst raising money and awareness for the disease. Kelly and Montanna lost their beloved Mum and Nanny Bey, to MND in 2018, so this cause is close to their hearts. Well done to you both.

A huge congratulaons to Under 15 player Jasmine Morgan who played her 50th game at Hatherleigh on the weekend, and also to B grade player Montanna Millard who played her 150th game.

Junior 2: Terrible condions met us at Hatherleigh for the final game of the first round. We were missing Lucy who unfortunately has a broken wrist - we wish her a speedy recovery! All girls tried hard, Hatherleigh were a good team but we didn't help ourselves by not coming in front & not meeng the ball. We will do some more work on this at trainings! Milah was very solid in defence, taking numerous intercepts - but we needed to help her out a lile bit more. We need to support each other & not just think our job is done once we've done one pass. I'd really like everyone to listen and concentrate at trainings - that will then eventually flow into good habits on game day. Ruby was also under an injury cloud with a sore and bruised ankle. Well done Rubz for fronng up and giving your all. The Fasta Pasta award went to Ellie who worked hard on geng in front and was rewarded with the ball by doing this. The Wendy's award went to Pippa who always listens to me, tries to do what I've said and tries her absolute hardest. Imogen heads off on holidays for a few weeks - have fun Imy and we'll see you when you get back! Great job girls - let's see what we can do in the second round!

13 & Under: Hatherleigh 45 defeated Port MacDonnell 30. What a game! The girls played really well for having 2 weeks off! The weather wasn't the best with lots of rain, but the girls pushed through and held their heads high. The aacking girls had me amazed when they did 'the coach's dream,' 3 passes straight into goals! And the defensive side got plenty of great intercepts! Well done girls although we didn't get the win you all played exceponally well! 15 & Under: Hatherleigh 31 defeated by Port MacDonnell 41. What a bloody good game today girls, we went out there with a fight, we had intensity and we wanted to get out there and give it a red hot crack and that's exactly what we did. Every quarter break we were either drawing or 1-3 up. Hatherleigh definitely kept us on our toes, but we came together as a team and that's something we have been working on all season. Bree, what a game to come back on, you absolutely blitzed it, considering you've come in halfway through the season but you and the girls in the team played like you had been there all season. You all should be proud of yourselves. Our transion down court was much beer today, as well as our talk. We have finally all found our voices and we all talk like a team. 17 & Under: Hatherleigh 33 defeated by Port MacDonnell 67. Aer a two week hiatus, our girls were more ready than ever to lineup against the well performing Hatherleigh side. All nine girls braved the treacherous condions with a smile on their faces and played another excellent game of team netball. Lilly Day has been working on her posioning in the circle and we saw her hard work pay off this week with some brilliant holding, enabling her to get beer opportunies in the goal circle. Ruby Moody provided excellent defensive pressure around the goal circle, many of her intercepts leading to goal conversions for her team.

Alicetyn Stanley and Chloe Newton were explosive from the transverse line, truly a defender's nightmare. Lara Wilson had an incredible shoong game, her precise feeding as well as her ability to get the ball and reliably score earned her one of the best player awards this week. Our other award was claimed by Stevie Collins for her relentless defensive

pressure both in the circle and well down the court. Awards: Lara Wilson (Taylor Made Hair and Beauty), Stevie Collins (Fasta Pasta).

B Reserve: Hatherleigh 47 defeated Port MacDonnell 31. The hardest skill to acquire in netball is the one where you can give it your all even when we are down. The insnct to flight through in the last quarter was spectacular Unfortunately, a lile late. Never give up, never give in. Losing is only temporary if we learn from it and try harder not to lose the same way again and you can come away holding your heads high that you have given it your all.

B Grade: Hatherleigh 33 defeated by Port MacDonnell 34. MND round at Hatherleigh was a personal one for our team. Two of our team members were affected greatly by the loss of a family member due to MND. Hing the court today was certainly full of emoons for everyone. Our first quarter was full of unforced errors. Defensively, we were in the game, but didn't take care of our turnovers or capitalise on any gains. The second quarter consistently maintained pressure across the court and we were rewarded for our efforts with our turnovers. We treasured the ball and used it to our advantage around circle edge, finding the post. Our transions down court were well med and impressive to watch. The defensive combinaon of Montanna and Rachel played extremely well. They posioned themselves well for defensive rebounds and intercepons. A hand injury to our experienced defensive player Jenni, allowed Chloe to step on court for her first senior game. Chloe worked hard to gain ps, touches and intercepons to keep us in touch with Hatherleigh. Elivia was put into defence in the final 8 minutes, as it become a ght goal for goal bale. Elivia ghtened the defence to make some important gains. Together, Rachel, Elivia and Chloe worked incredibly hard in the final minutes. It was great to see these girls chasing balls down and delivering them into the aack line. Ball skills and execuon was evident, as the ball was moved beaufully around the aacking circle by De and Candice. Posion creavely around the circle for the advantage of the goalies to find post. Jess ran hard and was driving well into space to open up the goal ring, followed up with beauful shots. Lilly and Jess were strong at the ball and protected each other under the ring. They worked extremely well together and had some excellent ming to the ball. Well done everyone for never giving up and fighng hard to the end! This one was for Bey! RIP. A Reserve: Hatherleigh 39 defeated by Port MacDonnell 49. Well what a game, we knew this one was going to be hard and test our abilies as individual players and as a team. Finishing the 1st quarter down by 2, we regrouped coming into the 2nd working overme to ensure all extra opportunies to capitalise were taken. Our defensive pressure definitely helped us today and gave us the opportunity to take a 6 goal lead going into half me. Our goalies worked overme and stood strong all game and ensured they didn't miss any opportunies to score. Thank you to Sophie Lewis who came off playing a full game in C in U17's to then playing a full game in C in A Res, your on-court drive and passing definitely helped us secure the win. Kirby Carrison played a blinder in goals working relessly all game. Awards: Kirby Carrison (Victoria Hotel), Sophie Lewis (Birdie Blue).

A Grade: Hatherleigh 40 drew with Port MacDonnell 40. This was a very frustrang game, it was ours for the taking but unfortunately silly errors cost us the win. We started out strong with some awesome passages of play and our paence with the ball was on point in the first half. Going into the 3rd with a 7 goal lead our game slowly started to slip away and the pressure of Hatherleigh got the beer of us which caused us to rush, forced the ball and play a different game to what we played in the first half. With a slight change at 3 quarter me we were able to hang on with a draw. Kate Faint had an awesome game in WD, her pressure and turnovers were invaluable. Alysha Coon had another blinder today making her goalie accountable for 4 quarters, she also got many invaluable turnovers. ROUND 9 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW

Glencoe 29 lost to Kalangadoo 58

Glencoe and Kalangadoo faced off for the first me since last year’s Grand Final in rainy condions. The Magpies took the first centre pass and were met by a disrupng Glencoe defence line who applied strong defensive pressure and forced Kalangadoo to throw away two consecuve passes but the Murphies were unable to convert through their aack line due to errors of their own. An early skill error from the Glencoe side allowed Kalangadoo to score the first three goals of the game and set up an early lead. Kalangadoo entered the first break leading 12 goals to 7. The second quarter showed a ghter contest with Glencoe having 14 scoring opportunies to Kalangadoo’s 16. However, the inaccuracy of the Glencoe goalers and the strong rebounding of Lara Munro allowed Kalangadoo to extend their lead. Ebony McDiarmid was the focal point in the Kalangadoo goal circle using her strength and experience under the post to convert with ease. The Glencoe defenders of Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen fought hard to limit the opportunies of the Magpies and win ball back for their team. The half me score was 26 to 14.

Both teams entered the second half unchanged. The Magpies came out with a connued intensity and were up to their usual tricks making for a rough contest through the middle of the court. Glencoe’s Donna Jaeschke nullified the Magpies’ Jane Auld, not allowing her to have any impact on the game. The Magpies were able to find plenty of space and transion the ball down court with long clearing passes making it difficult for the Glencoe defenders to stop the ball reaching the post. Chloe Peacock stepped up her defensive pressure and got her hands to plenty of balls. Heading into the final break Kalangadoo led 38 to 22.

Kalangadoo pushed out their dominance in the final quarter against a disheartened Glencoe side. Their defensive line connued to confuse the space and make it difficult for the Murphies team to find a safe opon. McDiarmid’s accuracy was a highlight of the game missing only one goal for the match despite the pressure that was being applied on her by Glencoe’s Owen who grew with confidence as the game went on and connued to fight for possession. It was too lile too late for the Glencoe team who found themselves down early through some poor decision making. Kalangadoo ran out the game 58 to 29.

Hatherleigh 40 drew with Pt MacDonnell 40

Hatherleigh hosted Pt Mac and the MND Big Freeze, which was an apt descripon of the weather condions confronng players.

In wet and windy condions to start play, the ball was turned over for both teams up and down the court with goals kept to a minimum. A few forced errors from Hatherleigh’s aack line feeling the pressure from Port Macs defence especially Alysha Coon and Alana Berkefeld gave Port Mac a few opportunies

that they made the most of going into the first break with a slight lead to be up by 2.

Players welcomed a short period of sunshine and Pt Mac hit their groove in the second. Accurate shoong from Kori Collins capitalised on the strong defensive work of Coon and Berkefeld making goals hard to come by for Hatherleigh while Erin Watson and Lara MacGregor we’re working hard for Hatherleigh creang turns and aacking. At the main break Pt Mac had a handy 7 goal lead.

MacGregor, Watson and Lucy Corman connued to make their presence felt in the third while Maddie Redman connued to work relessly to slow the Pt Mac aack down. It was a strong tussle in the mid court between Rosie Nele and Kate Faint with both players pung their bodies on the line. Pt Mac’s Megan Hein and Kori Collins converted every opportunity they had but were limited by the strong defensive pressure applied by all Hatherleigh players down the court. At the third quarter break Hatherleigh had clawed their way back to be down by 2.

Changes coming into the last by both sides but Hatherleigh’s change saw Abby Wight come into GS and immediately make an impact with Hatherleigh taking the lead for the first me in the match. However Pt Mac adjusted, increased their work rate and the game soon became goal for goal. Watson connued to give her all and get her hands to plenty against fresh legs in Shannon Scheidl who worked hard to give Pt Mac every opportunity to score. A nail biter last quarter for supporters and a game of literally two halves - with Pt Mac dominang the first and Hatherleigh fighng back and out scoring in the last halfresulng in a draw

Kongorong 40 lost to Tantanoola 53

Round 9 at Kongorong saw some poor condions with a wet court but the rain holding off for the first whistle. The first quarter of the game seen both the Tigers and the Hawks go hard at the ball in the wet and both teams took me to sele. Evie Sealey for the Hawks was on from the second the first whistle blew, working hard with the front cut and making the most under of the ball under the post. The Tigers seled earlier than the young Hawks though with the aack like of Tantanoola geng a good look at the ball themselves, but the Hawks too eventually seled and the scores were even at the first break.

The second quarter saw nobody backing off, with the defensive line-ups for both teams have a real good crack across the court. Tayla Rowe for the Tigers and Riley Buckingham for the Hawks baled hard in the circle, both at mes being influenal for their respecve sides through the second term. The Tigers shooters had a dominant quarter in parcular with Jami Walker dominant in GA shoong 7 from 8 for the quarter fed well by Casey Walker and Kate Varcoe who made their presence known in the second term. Tantanoola broke away to lead by 7 at half me with the Tigers 27 to Kongorong 20.

Both teams connued to fight hard defensively up either end as the aack lines looked to convert accurately. Bromley connued down the defensive end for the Tigers working overme for her side whilst R. Buckingham and Gould both didn’t ease up pace in a thrilling contest down the court. Emily Lightbody in Goal Keeper for the Hawks took opportunity of any inaccuracies under the ring with Sealey converng well and Tilah Buckingham a solid target under the post. The Hawks pushed to make the last quarter an even one but it was the Tigers that could get it done in the wet condions and pick themselves up the win. Final score Tantanoola 53 - 40 Kongorong.

Robe 68 def Nangwarry 16

With some wet and windy weather - this made a difficult day for netball. However, Robe came out strong with some great pressure from Georgia Perkins and Emma Grant in defence, holding Nangwarry to only 5 goals for the quarter. While Robe’s Demi Carter and Tori Gluyas scored 8 goals each.

Robe made a change at quarter me, bringing Halle Carter into Goal Aack and Tori Gluyas taking the bench. The Carter sisters combined well in the circle, D. Carter shot accurately, scoring 17 goals for the quarter, with some precision passing from Robe’s mid court, Lucy Perkins and Annie Regnier. With Nangwarry only scoring 3 goals for the quarter, the score was 39 to 8 at half me.

Robe made more changes at half me with D Carter taking the bench and Tori Gluyas coming on at Goal Shooter. While Nangwarry remained the same. Nangwarry’s Cassie Dinnison worked hard at Wing Aack, direcng play in the aack line and driving well onto the circle. However, Robe’s defensive pressure down the court really stepped and they capitalised on their turnovers. With the score being 50 to 13 at 3/4 me.

The final quarter saw Robe making more changes, with D. Carter going back into Goal Shooter, Gluyas to Goal Aack, Ellen Ramke to Goal Defence and H. Carter to Wing Defence, while Grant took the bench. Nangwarry saw Ella Jones come on at Wing Defence and Scarle Black taking the bench. Once again D. Carter and Gluyas combined well in the goal circle for Robe and the defensive pressure down the court saw lots of turnovers from Robe’s mid court.
