San Cristóbal Lachirioag San Cristóbal Lachirioag es un municipio que se localiza en la sierra Juárez del estado de Oaxaca, pertenece a la cultura zapoteca y tiene su propia cultura, gastronomía, bebidas típicas, las que mas lo distinguen son: los tamales de tres picos, el tradicional pozontle “bebida de los dioses”, las danzas como la rosa maría, danza chusca, la conquista, los negritos, los tigres, huenche nene, entre otros mas, se destacan asimismo algunas costumbres, tradiciones, leyendas. La comunidad se rige bajo el sistema de usos y costumbres, su propia forma de gobierno, que son considerados como servicios comunitarios. Está ubicada bajo el cerro de Yia Wiz “cerro de las guayabinas”, Lachirioag en zapoteco se deriva como “Lachichhiaj” “llano de piedras”. Además de tener una lengua materna que es el zapoteco, la primera identidad de una persona, esa identidad que recibió de sus padres y de su comunidad, en su mayor parte la población es bilingüe y una parte monolingüe. Cuenta con 4 instituciones educativas que son: preescolar “Narciso Mendoza”, escuela primaria “Revolución”, escuela secundaria técnica 203 y el bachillerato integral comunitario 06. En esta ultima institución educativa que se lleva el componente de interpretes en lengua indígena, con el fin de brindar servicios a personas monolingües, debido que en México hay muchos presos inocentes, en su mayoría indígenas que no hablan otra lengua más, al ser juzgados no contaban con un intérprete para defenderlo. En el componente se desarrollan actividades y materiales bilingües que le son de utilidad a los ámbitos de justicia y salud. El siguiente manual es un breve glosario dirigido para el médico, los niños, los abogados, la sociedad y los intérpretes sobre todo, con el fin de poder realizar una buena interpretación. Sabemos que hoy en día casi la mitad de las lenguas vivas no están siendo enseñadas por los padres a los hijos, prefiriendo enseñarles el castellano u otro lengua que no es nativa de los padres, pueden enseñarles otras lenguas pero no deben de olvidar la lengua con que nacieron, crecieron y morirán, debemos recordar que los conocimientos, costumbres, tradiciones de la comunidad, fue transmitida por generaciones a través de nuestra lengua zapoteca, y al desaparecer nuestra lengua, también desaparecerá nuestra cultura única, que está indisolublemente unida a ella. Sigue enseñando nuestra lengua zapoteca a tus hijos, amigos, hermanos, y a la sociedad, para que siga viva, como lo dijera Nelson Mandela “hablarle a alguien en un idioma que te entiende significa llegar a su cerebro, pero hablarle en su lengua es llegar a su corazón”. En el caso de la unidad médica rural, el médico no entiende el zapoteco, por lo que nos dimos el trabajo de elaborar un glosario, con términos más usados de salud y justicia, incluyendo su pronunciación.
