It gives me great pleasure to extend my deepest gratitude to our partners, past awardees, sponsors and the SEBA team who continues to work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure its success.

Being the founder of the SME & Entrepreneurs Business Awards has given me the unique opportunity to not only dream but create a vision for what I think is needed amongst SMEs and Entrepreneurs. I was able to establish the values that have personal meaning to me and set upon that course.

The initial years of SEBA initially got me questioning if that dream and vision would be come to f ruition.

Alas, we are proud to announce SEBA’s 5th Edition in 2020. We are honoured to be that catalyst in promoting entrepreneurship and business through Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia (MyPreneurship).

With companies these days getting too caught up in a fast-paced world, and at times neglecting self-development, we at SEBA aim to add that semblance and assist in creating that balance. By staying constantly stable, a company is doomed to weakness or perhaps face the threat of vanishing. The wise man who described science that stops for a reason or another was right when he said: “stable science is like stable ignorance”.

This fact goes beyond the boundaries of science. Partaking in SEBA does break this cycle, as recognition drives the influencing leverage of a businesses. What makes SEBA unique is that while everyone is putting their best foot forward to provide quality material, the human aspect is never overlooked. At SEBA we believe that in harbouring and nurturing the enticing combination of an ambitious “raise-the-bar” mindset and an informal and incredibly warm culture. This is what fuels all of us to go the extra mile.

Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia (MyPreneurship) is a non-government organisation that thrives on the f rontier of gathering, creating and developing sustainable companies with strong entrepreneurship traits. Our organisation builds credibility on serving as a platform that supports the development of these companies because the programmes that we offer are tailored with their best interests in mind to ensure that they are able to achieve their goals while sustaining core values.

Our concentrated efforts to play the role of bridging the gap for companies, whether they are long established, highly successful or new start-ups, serves as an instrument to promote healthy competition and positive collaboration that pushes these companies forward. We believe in setting stringent standards of quality and empowerment in alignment with our mission to spur growth by nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit.

Because Success Matters - Now in its 5th edition, the SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards 2019 was set up as an initiative to not only recognize Malaysia’s outstanding entrepreneurs and enterprises, it seeks to uncover growing talents and upcoming companies that are transforming the face of industries.

AWARDS PROCESS Submitted nomination with complete supporting materials and financial documents need to be vetted by Preliminary Vetting Committee across various qualitative and quantitative criteria to validate eligibility, financial strength and individual or corporate achievements, depending on award category.

Financial Assessment Rating by appointed financial auditors which may include further interviews with nominees’ administrative and financial teams.

On-Site Audit Inspection and Interview with entrepreneur / company management to uncover leadership caliber and validate long term sustainability rating, a proprietary benchmark created by MyPreneurship and SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards.

Questions will be prepared by internal team for nominee. The arrangement of the Interview will be set and determined by the internal team to the nominee.

An appointed Jury Board will vet through finalised entries and submit their recommendations for the selection of winning recipients and recommended award categories.

Final Verification Round by Award Committee and Jury.

Confirmation letters are sent out to awardees.
