Durch das TUBELESS-FÄHIGE System können alle XeNTiS Clincher Laufräder ohne Schlauch gefahren werden. Aufgrund der speziellen Felgenbettgeometrie sitzt der Reifen exakt im Felgenhorn. Der Einsatz dieses Systems erhöht wesentlich die Pannensicherheit und den Komfort.

Due to the TUBELESS-SUITABLE system all XeNTiS clincher wheels are ridable without an inner tube. Because of the special rim base the tyre fits exactly to the rim flange. This application guarantees a significant increase in puncture protection and riding comfort.

Der ASYMMETRISCHE FELGENQUERSCHNITT kommt bei Hinterrad- und Scheibenbremsnaben zum Einsatz, nähert die Speichenspannung links und rechts aneinander an und erhöht dadurch die Seitensteifigkeit des gesamten Laufrades.

The ASYMMETRIC RIM PROFILE is used in combination with rear and disc-brake hubs. As a result, the spoke tension left and right is almost equal and therefore the lateral stiffness of the entire wheel increases.

Im Laufradbau wird zwischen Druck- und Zugspeichenlaufrädern unterschieden. Zugspeichenprinzip: Konventionelle Laufräder werden aus Felgen, Nippel, Speichen und Naben zusammengebaut. Druckspeichenprinzip: Ein Monocoque Laufrad vereint diese Komponenten in einem Bauteil. Mit Hilfe der One-Shot-Hollow Technologie (OSH) von XeNTiS ist es möglich, diese Laufräder leistungsoptimiert in einem einzigen Pressschritt herzustellen.

In wheel construction, a distinction is made between compression and tension spoke wheels. Tension spoke principle: Conventional wheels consist of the assembly of rim, nipple, spokes and hub. Compression spoke principle: A monocoque wheel combines these components in one structural element. XeNTiS‘ One-Shot-Hollow Technology (OSH) allows to produce these wheels with optimized performance in a single compacting step.

The development engineers of XeNTiS have started the project with the ambitious goal of creating a worldwide novel and technically as well as optically unique wheel, which not only meets but exceeds customer needs in the mountain bike sector. Every single carbon layer was examined for its functionality and the gradual approach to the balance between lightweight construction and longevity took place. After many iteration cycles, in which the wheel design was optimized by FE analysis and prototype testing, a product is now being offered that outshines everything which has existed before. The perfect spoke geometry of the KAPPA X not only ensures excellent lateral stiffness and directional stability, but also has a damping effect when riding over obstacles due to the discreet springy design. An extraordinary puncture safety is realized by the tubeless suitable rim flange in hookless design. The Monocoque wheel set is available as an e-bike version too and the offered sizes are 27.5 and 29 inches.

Mit dem ambitionierten Ziel, ein weltweit neuartiges und technisch sowie optisch einzigartiges Laufrad zu kreieren, welches Kundenbedürfnisse auf dem Mountainbikesektor nicht nur erfüllt sondern übertrifft, sind die Entwicklungsingenieure von XeNTiS in das Projekt gestartet. Es erfolgte die Untersuchung jeder einzelne Carbonschicht auf deren Funktionalität und die schrittweise Annäherung an das Gleichgewicht zwischen Leichtbau und Langlebigkeit. Nach vielen Iterationszyklen, in denen die Laufradkonstruktion durch FE Analyse und Prototypenerprobung optimiert wurde, wird nun ein Produkt angeboten, das alles bisher Dagewesene in den Schatten stellt. Die vollendete Speichengeometrie des KAPPA X sorgt nicht nur für exzellente Seitensteifigkeit und Spurtreue, sondern hat durch die dezent federnde Auslegung auch im Bereich Komfort eine dämpfende Wirkung beim Überfahren von Hindernissen. Eine außerordentliche Pannensicherheit wird durch das tubelessfähige Felgenhorn in Hookless-Ausführung realisiert. Der Monocoque Laufradsatz ist in 27.5 und 29 Zoll sowie als E-Bike-Variante erhältlich.

MARK3

Das MARK3 ist Bestandteil der neuesten Monocoque-Generation des österreichischen Carbon-Spezialisten XeNTiS. Der 5-Speichen Laufradsatz ist für den Einsatz im Rennrad-, Triathlon- und Gravelbereich konzipiert. Aus aerodynamischen und steifigkeitsspezifischen Gründen wurde das Design der früheren Version komplett erneuert. Während des Entwicklungsprozesses erfolgte, mit Hilfe von CFD-Simulation und FE-Analyse, die schrittweise Reduzierung des Luftwiderstands durch in die Oberfläche eingearbeitete Abrisskanten und die stetige Erhöhung der Steifigkeit. Das Ergebnis ist ein weltweit einzigartiges Laufradkonzept, das im Vergleich zu Scheibenrädern keine Einbußen in puncto Luftwiderstand zu verbuchen hat. Zusätzlich kann sich der Athlet, dank der vergleichsweise geringen Seitenwindanfälligkeit, auch bei stürmischen Bedingungen voll und ganz auf die Spurtreue seines Fahrrades verlassen. Zur Auswahl stehen unterschiedliche Ausführungen: Clincher und Tubular Felgenhörner sind ebenso erhältlich wie Scheiben- und Felgenbremsen, welche über die patentierte XeNTiS Bremsfläche verfügen.

The MARK3 is part of the latest monocoque generation of the Austrian carbon specialist XeNTiS. The 5-spoke wheelset is designed for the usage in racing, triathlon and gravel bikes. For aerodynamic and stiffness-specific reasons the design of the earlier version was completely renewed. During the development process, CFD simulation and FE analysis were used to gradually reduce air resistance by integrated tear-off edges and to continuously increase stiffness. The result is a worldwide unique wheel concept which, compared to disc wheels, has no deficits in the field of air resistance. In addition, thanks to the comparatively low susceptibility to crosswinds, the athlete can fully rely on the directional stability of his bike even in stormy conditions. Different versions are offered: Clincher and Tubular rim flanges are available as well as disc and rim brakes, which include the patented XeNTiS braking surface.

Leicht, leichter, MARK3 SL (SuperLeicht). Dieses MARK3 SL setzt im Monocoque Leichtbau (Aero) neue Maßstäbe! Die Entwicklungsingenieure bei XeNTiS haben sich der Herausforderung der Gewichtsreduktion gestellt. Die Basis aus dem bestehenden und bewährten MARK3 wurde deutlich verschlankt. Das Gewicht konnte um 320g (!) reduziert werden und pendelt sich bei nun 1420g/Set ein. Das Einsetzen hochmoderner spezieller CFK-Fasern und Weiterentwicklung im Herstellprozess ermöglicht es uns, dieses Ergebnis zu erreichen. Bei der hauseigenen XeNTiS Nabe (XH003) wurden die hochwertigen Stahl-Rillenkugellager durch Hybridlager (mit Keramikwälzkörpern) von Ceramic Speed (coated) ersetzt. Die Gewährleistung für diese Kugellager beträgt 6 Jahre. Am Design wurde auch kräftig gearbeitet. Oberstes Credo lautete „weniger ist mehr“, dies wurde beim neuen MARK3 SL mehr als nur umgesetzt! Das einzigartige Design wurde noch um 3 weitere Farben zur Auswahl (im Lieferumfang enthalten) erweitert. Dies ermöglicht dem XeNTiS Kunden sein eigenes, farblich abgestimmtes MARK3 SL zu kreieren. Zur Auswahl stehen auch hier die unterschiedlichsten Ausführungen der Felgensysteme, wie tubelessfähig, tubular, Felgen- oder Scheibenbremsvariante.

Light, lighter, MARK3 SL (SuperLight). This MARK3 SL sets new standards in monocoque lightweight construction (aero)! The development engineers at XeNTiS have taken up the challenge of weight reduction. The basis from the existing and proven MARK3 was slimmed down significantly. The weight could be reduced by 320g (!) and now settles at 1420g/set. The use of ultra-modern special carbon fibers and further development in the manufacturing process enabled us to achieve this result. For the in-house XeNTiS hub (XH003), the high-quality steel deep groove ball bearings have been replaced by hybrid bearings (with ceramic rolling elements) from Ceramic Speed (coated). The warranty for these ball bearings is 6 years. A lot of work was also done on the design. Top credo was „less is more“, this was more than just implemented in the new MARK3 SL! The unique design was extended by 3 more colors to choose from (included). This allows the XeNTiS customer to create his own color-coordinated MARK3 SL. To choose from here are also the most diverse designs of the rim systems, such as tubeless suitable, tubular, rim or disc brake variant.

Der Luftwiderstand von Laufrädern bedingt einen nicht unerheblichen Anteil am Widerstand des Gesamtsystems Athlet-Fahrrad. Daher arbeitet XeNTiS sehr eng im Rahmen von Kooperationsprojekten mit dem Institut für Strömungslehre und Wärmeübertragung der Technischen Universität Graz zusammen. Dabei werden die aerodynamischen Charakteristika ermittelt und durch Analyse der Messdaten eine Optimierung bei der Gestaltung von Laufrädern erreicht. Die Laufräder haben aus aerodynamischen Gründen einen nicht zu vernachlässigenden Einfluss auf die Wettkampf-Performance eines Radfahrers. Dabei kommt dem oftmals auftretenden Seitenwind eine besondere Bedeutung zu. Bei einer geeigneten Konstruktion kann dabei ein „Segeleffekt“ mit Reduktion des Widerstands auftreten. Dem gegenüber steht allerdings eine dadurch bedingt größere Seitenkraft die zu einem unvorteilhaften Fahrverhalten führen kann. Es gilt daher für die jeweilige Anwendung durch technische Raffinesse und Designoptimierung einen günstigen Kompromiss aus Reduktion des Widerstandes, Komfort und Lenkverhalten zu erreichen.

The air resistance of wheels accounts for a not inconsiderable proportion of the resistance of the overall athlete-bike system. Therefore, XeNTiS works very closely in cooperation projects with the Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer of the Graz University of Technology. The aerodynamic characteristics are determined and an optimization in the design of wheels is achieved by analyzing the measurement data. For aerodynamic reasons, the wheels have a non-negligible influence on the competition performance of a cyclist. In this context, the often occurring crosswind is of particular importance. With a suitable design, a „sailing effect“ with a reduction in resistance can occur. On the other hand, however, this results in greater lateral force, which can lead to unfavorable handling characteristics. It is therefore important to achieve a favorable compromise between drag reduction, comfort and steering behavior for the respective application through technical refinement and design optimization.

XeNTiS nützt die Monocoque Fertigung und entwickelt auf Basis dieser Erkenntnisse ein gespeichtes Wheel Segment für den Felgenmarkt. Die Bandbreite deckt den MTB-, Rennrad- und Gravelbereich ab. Der Anspruch an gespeichte Laufräder ist differenzierter gegenüber jenen in Monocoque-Bauweise, bei dieser geht es vorrangig um einen spannungsfreien CFK-Aufbau, im Gegensatz zu gespeichten Wheels. Diese Ausführung steht immer unter Spannung und muss im CFK-Aufbau berücksichtigt werden. Die Verbindung von Nabe zu Felgenring übernimmt eine vorgespannte Stahlspeiche. Die Verbindung im CFK Felgenring wird durch einen speziellen CFK-Aufbau und ausgerichtete Bohrung für den Nippel ermöglicht und kommt bei XeNTiS ohne Zusatzscheiben aus. Die Verbindung erfolgt direkt. Bei der Formgebung der Felge werden asymmetrische Felgenprofile eingesetzt, um die Vorspannung der Speichen auszugleichen. Gepaart mit den hauseigenen XeNTiS Naben (XH004) findet die SQUAD RACE Linie ihre Vollendung. Zur Auswahl stehen hier unterschiedliche Felgentiefen, Ausführungen der Felgensysteme, wie tubelessfähig, Felgen- oder Scheibenbremsvariante.

XeNTiS uses the monocoque manufacturing and develops a spoked wheel segment for the rim market based on this knowledge. The range covers the MTB, road bike and gravel area. The demand on spoked wheels is more differentiated compared to those in monocoque construction, in this case it is primarily about a stress-free carbon fibers construction, in contrast to spoked wheels. This design is always under tension and must be taken into account in the carbon fibers structure. The connection from hub to rim ring is made by a prestressed steel spoke. The connection in the carbon fibers rim ring is made possible by a special carbon fibers structure and aligned hole for the nipple, and XeNTiS does not require any additional washers. The connection is direct. Asymmetrical rim profiles are used in the shaping of the rim to compensate for the preload of the spokes. Paired with the in-house XeNTiS hubs (XH004), the SQUAD RACE line finds its completion. To choose from here are different rim depths, designs of the rim systems, such as tubeless suitable, rim or disc brake variant.

SQUAD SL, steht auch im gespeichten Sektor für Leichtbau (SuperLeicht). Auf Basis der SQUAD RACE Erkenntnisse wurde die Leichtbauweise der Linie SQUAD SL ohne Kompromisse unter Einbindung von Wettkampfathleten entwickelt. Für die XeNTiS Entwicklungsingenieure ein klarer Auftrag superleichte, sehr agile, steife wie auch dämpfende Wheels für den Rennsport zu entwickeln und in der hauseigenen Fertigung umzusetzen. Als Weiterentwicklung der SQUAD RACE Linie wurde sowohl bei der Entwicklung als auch im Fertigungsprozess viel investiert und bei der CFK-Komposition nochmals tief in die Tasche gegriffen. Das Resultat, ein kompromissloser Felgenring der all diesen Anforderungen entspricht. Zum Einsatz kommt hier die neuentwickelte XH006 Nabe aus dem Hause XeNTiS die nochmals an Gewicht eingebüßt hat. Der Aufwand wurde neben den zahlreichen Erfolgen im Rennsport jedoch mit dem glorreichen Sieg durch Anna Kiesenhofer in Tokyo 2020 belohnt, bestätigt und zeichnet die Arbeit von XeNTiS aus.

SQUAD SL, also stands in the spoked sector for lightweight construction (Super Light). Based on the SQUAD Race findings, the lightweight design of the SQUAD SL line was developed without compromise with the involvement of competition athletes. For the XeNTiS development engineers a clear mission to develop super light, very agile, stiff as well as damping wheels for racing and implement in the in-house production. As a further development of the SQUAD RACE line, a lot was invested both in the development and in the manufacturing process and in the carbon fibers composition once again deep into the pocket. The result, an uncompromising rim ring that meets all these requirements. The newly developed XH006 hub from XeNTiS is used here, which has lost even more weight. The effort was rewarded in addition to the numerous successes in racing but with the glorious victory by Anna Kiesenhofer in Tokyo 2020, confirmed and distinguishes the work of XeNTiS.

Every single XeNTiS wheel is going through an extensive quality check before delivery. This is when the perfect finishing process and concentric run-out is checked.

Jedes XeNTiS Wheel wird vor Auslieferung einer umfangreichen Qualitätsprüfung unterzogen. Dabei werden die Laufräder auf optische Verarbeitungsqualität und perfekten Rundlauf geprüft.

Finally every wheel is going through a statical endurance test in order to go fast and break last for you for a long time!

Abschließend wird jedes Wheel einem statischen Belastungstest unterzogen, um dir langjährige Dienste leisten zu können.

XeNTiS offers in addition to the 2-year warranty, at the same time a 3-year crash replacement with valid registration (no later than 1 month after purchase). You will receive a discount on a new XeNTiS wheel or repair after crash or damage:
