Perched above the dramatic hills of Labuan Bajo, this capsule cabin villa and restaurant concept offers a new way to experience coastal luxury. Four exclusive one-bedroom floating cabins provide privacy, breathtaking views, and intimate connection with nature, while a stylish hillside restaurant invites guests to dine, socialize, and celebrate the sunset. Every stay becomes a curated journey — serene, memorable, and uniquely personal.

Reference projects such as Woodnest in Norway—pine cone–shaped tree houses overlooking a fjord—and Niliaitta in Finland, a secluded cabin deep within the forest, demonstrate how architecture can elevate nature-driven hospitality. These projects emphasize slow journeys, earned comfort, intimacy, and panoramic views. Set lightly within their landscapes, they offer guests a chance to disconnect, reconnect, and fully relax—turning remote locations into meaningful, memorable retreats.

The 1,030 sqm site is defined by a majestic acacia tree, soft contours, and open views to the north.
The design language celebrates simplicity and material honesty. uxury tent-style architecture with modular forms, neutral color palette in beige, sand, and taupe tones. Elegant canvas roofs, light structural frames, and open airy interiors blending seamlessly with the landscape.

Luxury tent-style architecture with modular forms, neutral color palette in green, wood, and white tones. Elegant canvas roofs, light structural frames, and open airy interiors blending seamlessly with the landscape.
Positioned on a hillside with an approximate 30° elevation, the land rises above the surrounding terrain, providing an impressive vantage point. From this elevated position, the site opens toward the western horizon, offering a panoramic sunset view over the Flores Sea and the chain of small islands scattered along the coast.

Private Nest is a floating cabin capsule and restaurant in the hills of Bajo, designed for intimate stays and shared dining experiences. Gently placed above the landscape, it embraces sustainability, low-impact construction, modern Japanese simplicity, ocean views, and peaceful sunset moments near the beach.
