CEO LETTER I know what you are thinking, “Karl this is not a newspaper, what is going on?”. There is a good reason why this change has happened and I will explain the journey.

When I first started the newspaper, I wanted a publication that was inviting, that would speak to individuals across the entire luxury market, but also step away from the 100’s of luxury magazines. The first few issues of the paper were well received and brands liked my approach, but like most ideas, it was not perfect. Over the last six months having worked on the club and working on its phase two development, the newspaper no longer fits into the future of the club, and due to this, a change was needed. Also as a publication, we no longer distribute outside our members, digital readers and selected events, which also lead to this change.

Having looked at different publishing options, from magazine-style newspaper to a premium magazine, they did not reflect our exclusive outlook which is why I decided that a hardcover book is the best alternative. My team and I will continue to publish Asset Intelligence every month and bring you the most up to date information on assets from across the luxury sector.

I hope that you will enjoy this new format, but also share this book with your friends and will revisit over time.

EDITORS LETTER This is one of the most powerful issues that I have ever had to produce, covering subjects that not many people talk about and suffer in silence – mental health, it’s something that each and everyone of us will experience at some point in our lives and for that reason I wanted to take the subject that is so sensitive for many people and get them talking about their life experiences and to seek help. Recently I had a wonderful opportunity to meet the director of a theatre production launching at Edinburgh Fringe this August - I am Orestes, and I am Electra directed by Arif Alfaraz, which is a unique and extreme experience and one that I highly recommend visiting.

WHO IS THE JUDGE?

‘...We want the audience to judge what should I think, what should I do and to get them to talk.’

If your thinking Cludo or Sherlock Holmes your far from it, think along the lines of Are You Capable of Murder? I am, we all are or at least that is what To Be Creatives, wants us to think about with their adaptation of I am Orestes and I am Electra showing on the 20th – 25th August at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The production is based on mental health, and the impossibility of its recovery without seeking professional help is the theme.

The award-winning theatre writer and director Arif Alfaraz produced this wonderful masterpiece to get the provision of mental health out to an audience that suffers in silence bullying, rejection, homophobia and lack of confidence drive many people to suicidal thoughts and selfharm. The story takes you through a journey that is experienced to a whole new level, to express what it’s like being alone with oneself.

The aim is to achieve getting more young teenagers seeking the right help, after suffering from depression himself at the age of sixteen. The message is “ it all starts with oneself.

You are the owner of the key that opens your own happiness “ He wanted to created something that is strong, contemporary, interactive and tragedy to get the importance he states, ‘we believe in theatre, as a means to change the world”.

The contemporary version lets the audience be the judge and assist to a purge where they do not just watch; they are part of the big brother experience. Without saying a word or direct interplay, every single member of the public work as a third voice, they are the characters and as the classic chorus of the Greek Tragedy and that responsibility completes the actors in creating an atmosphere where everything and nothing is true or false. They are left with answering questions at the extreme points after witnessing the actors holding plan 16

glass mirrors in front of their eyes, which leads directly to empathy and to judging, but who is supposed to judge? Where is Justice? What is Justice? Be a juror.

Some scenes express what’s happening to them sometimes they are doctors, invisible friends and talking to oneself – throughout the play the last thing you can be is impartial. We want the audience to judge what should I think, what should I do and to get them to talk.

The script in itself differentiates from other theatre productions with raw content and taking it to that next step with different perceptions of overthinking, and you are not yourself - imagine you have no one and asking the question of who are you – no one knows who you are.

The actors are very controversial, and we see the best performances from Marta Ramonet and Arif Alfaraz with extraordinary warmth and alternately heartbreaking vulnerability and determination, respectively to get the truth out.

The truth, the truth is not what our ego had built having just our thoughts, beliefs and feelings in mind; it is something beyond, something more, but never complete.

As an artist, I always from an audience perspective.

So far, so truthful, bold and heartstopping in some scenes shattering The last two scenes I will say are not for the faint-hearted, but it’s a fully interrogated show conveying triumphant and honesty–with the characters haunting the impossible - ensuring that bringing the texture and suffering of what effects the illness can do. This is one production that will have you on the edge of your seat, laughing, thinking and judging about who am I. They have made this adaptation their own – even more so they offer a complex portrait of mental health and its consequences. The actors are astonishing, the script is outstanding, and the overall production is one of a kind – this is one production you do not want to miss. You do not need to be a theatre geek to got imbued through this piercingly mixture of death and life – this is a theatre piece that will leave you thinking, asking questions and most of all address the subject of speaking out about the issues on mental health.

London is home to some of the finest restaurants in the world and not all of them have the Michelin Star, in fact, I have been to restaurants that are hidden away where the food is so authentic and heartwarming that it feels like you are in the country itself! One of those is Zheng Chelsea located in the best part of London, Kensington & Chelsea, which is home to some of the best boutique restaurants in the city.

The restaurant is named after the Chinese Admiral Zheng He, who is known for his travelling adventures in the early 15th century. Zheng He had sailed throughout the East as a peaceful diplomat of the Chinese Ming Emperor.

Offering a unqiue Malaysian cuisine which is a blend of its neighbouring countries China, India and Indonesia and with influences from Thailand, Portugal and British Cuisines, resulting in a cocktail of flavours but also making each dish unique and so diverse.

Zheng Chelsea over the Spring this year launched their Malaysian Favourites Lunch Menu. This included a starter called Salt and Pepper Squid and Chicken Satay. The main dishes included an iconic Malaysian Beef Rendang and Nasi Goreng Kampung, which is a typical dish of the people in Malaysia made with anchovies. For dessert, you can have the Asian classic like the Juih Ketayap which is a pandan pancake filled with a coconut filling or the fantastic Mango Pudding.

With single course from £13.90, two courses for £16.90 or 3 courses for £21.90. This is a restaurant for those who love true authentic food. Dishes that transport you!

When you are in Kensington & Chelsea London, make sure you take the time to visit Zheng Chelsea, even if it is just for a cocktail, but my advice, definitely book a table in advance.

MAFIA ISLAND: IT’S NOT WHAT YOU THINK! Travellers today are so very lucky with so many exotic locations to visit and access to thousands of hotels & resorts around the world, we are not short of places to explore although there are the odd few destinations that slip under the radar and Mafia Island is one them. Located off the coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean, this island is home to some jaw-dropping beaches, amazing coral reefs and some of the worlds finest seafood dishes.

So, why is it called Mafia Island?

The island was once known as Chole Shamba (Chole’s farm or agricultural area), others have used the name Morfiyeh, it is said that this could have been a corruption of morfi’a (pronounced morfi ya) which is arabic for “achipelago”, since this island is part of the nine islands, this original story is more befitting. There is not one answer to this question as there are many different variations of where that name came from.

The island When you arrive at the island you can’t ignore how lushes the environment is, and your accommodation is not a hotel, but you get a choice of bungalows, meaning you have your own space whilst on the island. You have access to the islands marina giving you access to some the best snorkelling and diving locations. There are so many activities to do on the island from kayaking, bird-watching and dhow-sailing. The best time to plan your visit to the island is definitely from August to March, as you will benefit from the sun and amazing sea life. April and May is the monsoon season, July is the windiest time of the year for the island.

The Kinasi library contains a full account of the fascinating archaeology of these ruins, once the most important town on Mafia, especially from the 12th to 14th Centuries. Founded by Bashat, one of the sons of the first Sultan of Kilwa, and extended the control of the Sultan to Mafia. The power and wealth of the Sultan of Kilwa was based upon gold, ivory and customs tariffs on all goods traded on the southern coast. In its time it was far more important the Zanzibar but its economic influence waned upon the arrival of the Portuguese at the end of the 15th Century.

Today, there is little left of the town, but you can easily find many beautiful potsherds and coins in the ruins and on the beautiful palmfringed beach. Due to erosion, the old well from which the town took its name now stands on the beach. The

whole area is now a protected core zone of the Mafia Island Marine Park.

The second place to visit is Bwejuu Island which sits between Ras Kisimani and the Rufiji Delta and is a lovely sand-fringed, palm-covered island surrounded by sandbars and snorkelling reefs.

These are wonderful all-day excursions by boat from Kilindoni for beach-lovers and those looking for a castaway experience. There are huge expanses of beautiful beaches and fabulous swimming along the edge of the Ras Kisimani point and off the reefs and sandbars of Bwejuu.

My top three must-do activities!

Nature Trail and Reef Walk For those of you who like to explore and go for a walk, then this one is for you, the nature trail begins at the Dive Centre giving you a 3km trail heading west along the foreshore and back along the ridge to Kinasi.

There is a small road via Didimaza

Beach where you will find a stunning beach about 1.5km away. The trail is home to amazing wildlife, birds, and if you are lucky you can see a LilacBreasted Rollers and a Madagascan Bee-Eater. The island has a lot of agricultural land where you can see rice growing, cassava beans, sweet potato including some exotic fruits such as papaya, bananas, pineapples, mangoes and guavas.

Along the reef flats, whilst it is low tide, you can see starfishes, small eels and cowries.

Kitutia & Mange Reefs Kitiutia and Mange are sand cays or small reef atolls on the far western edge of the archipelago and lying in the Mafia Channel. It is a stunning place with a sandbank – or cay – exposed at low tide at each of these and an excellent coral reef for snorkelling and good diving on the deeper channel side.

When visiting the reefs, make sure you have a whole day free as you’ll need it. There is so much to do, from snorkelling to simply sunbathing.

Whale Sharks Between September and March, each year Whale Sharks migrate of the island. These are slow-moving filter-feeding sharks, can be found hundreds of metres from the shore near Kilindoni Harbour, and if you take a short boat ride heading west you will get to their feeding ground, and when you arrive, you can’t miss them. If you are lucky you can see up to 24 Whale Sharks at any one time; males, females and juveniles with eye catching marks on their skin, stripes and spots.

For those of you who are a little more adventurous, you have the option to swim with these amazing sharks, which can grow up to eight metres. This is one of the best places in the world to experience this and something that you never forget.

Final thoughts There are very few places that really get me excited, that make me want to pull out my diary and book a trip straightaway, but this is one of those locations. No matter what you do

the super SUV’s are here!

If I told you ten years ago that Rolls Royce, Bentley or Lamborghini will make an SUV, you most likely laugh in my face and say “it’ll never happen!”, yet here we are, with three new SUV’s from three of the most prestigious luxury brands in the world. Majority of you reading this will be wondering, if you actually need an SUV, and I don’t blame you, because I have the same dilemma.

As you know I absolutely love my

saloons, they have the right balance between power, practicality and when I am driving through Europe at great GT option, but of late, I have been considering an SUV for myself.

Many of you will already have had some experience with a Range Rover whether it is the Vogue or the Sport, which are fantastic 4x4’s but lack the exclusivity feel. Today almost anyone can buy a top of the range Vogue, so the timing of these new Super SUV’s could be right?

It is a car that you can easily take to Europe for a week with your family or friends and be comfortable no matter where you are going.’

For me, I have always seen Bentley as a brand that encourages its owners to get behind the wheel, to take control. It doesn’t matter which model you pick within their current range, getting behind the wheel feels natural, and let’s be honest, 95% of the time when I see one on the road, the owner is driving it. With the Bentayga it is the same, from the moment you walk up the SUV you naturally walk towards the driver’s door.

When Bentley announced that they were going to make an SUV, my first reaction was why? I have never felt that they needed to, but now, my view has changed. The Bentayga is large, it is 16ft long and almost 6ft wide, so it does dominate the road, even more so on country roads.

Let’s start with POWER! Underneath the hood, you have a brand new 4.0-litre V8 with the addition of two twin-scroll turbochargers which are placed inside the ‘V’ of the engine. This means that the Bentayga has 542bhp giving it a top speed of 180mph. The way the power is delivered is so very Bentley like, smooth and gradual. Getting to 60mph takes only 4.4 seconds, which is enough to give most sports cars on the road a run for their money. When you fill the fuel tank to the top, you have a range of approximately 464 miles, with the addition of Start-Stop feature to help lower the car’s emissions. With many of the world’s cities introducing new laws based on a car’s emissions, the Bentayga should be safe for a good few years.

The exterior design of the Bentayga

is inline with rest of the range, with four round LED headlights and the large matrix grill, this is unmistakably a Bentley. The overall design of the exterior is, in my opinion, ok. It doesn’t make me “WOW” when I first saw it on the road, I didn’t get goose-bumps. One thing I do like is the rear end of the car, it is clean and simple. Overall I am not blown away by the exterior, I think given time, it will grow on me, only time will tell. In terms of the choice of alloys for the car, you have 11 wheel designs to pick from, including an all-new 22” five-spoke wheel with black paint and polished finish.

Moving to the interior,IT IS FANBLOODY-TASTIC! It is one of the nicest places to be, the seats are soft and uber comfortable, the stitching detail on the doors and something you very rarely see the Carbon Fibre finish. It is a car that you can easily take to Europe for a week with your family or friends and be comfortable no matter where you are going. Finding your way around the dashboard is effortless, the infotainment screen is clear and easy to navigate. Now, you have a choice of different trims from wood panels to wood and leather steering wheel, which is a first for Bentley. There is also a choice of different configurations for the interior seating, from four-, fiveor seven depending on what you are looking to get out of your Bentayga.

My advice would be to go for the Five seat configuration as it will age better, but also it the most practical layout. It is also worth mentioning that Bentley offers you 15 different interior colours and five different colour splits too.

For your rear passengers, they have access to their own removable 10.2” Android tablet which is 4g, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled.

A little bonus for you music lovers, like myself, I would absolutely recommend that you get the Premium Audio package giving you 1,950 watts and 18 speakers and super -tweeters. When streaming music from your mobile, the sound is

On the ROAD When you are on the road, it is so easy to drive and manoeuvre. The ride is silky smooth, and the cabin is unbelievably quiet. Put your foot down and if you really listen, you can hear a little grumble from the rear quad exhausts. Bentley has given the Bentayga off-road abilities with up to 8 modes, four on road and four off-road. To be honest you don’t really need to change the dynamics, as you can leave it up to the car to work out where you are and what you need. The Bentayga V8 comes with multi-mode air suspension with four different modes.

I know that majority of you won’t need the off-road features, but if you have country estates, it is a worth having.

THE ULTIMATE SUV TUXEDO:

ROLLS ROYCE CULLINAN

So Rolls Royce has made an SUV? If someone told me that RR would be doing this ten years ago, I would have told them they were mad!

Here we have the Rolls Royce Cullinan, named after the largest diamond ever discovered. Now before I go into the Cullinan, let’s look at the existing RR range.

Whenever I or anyone walks up to a Rolls Royce, I always walk to the rear doors. Whether it is the Phantom or the Ghost, I always do this, it is natural, I don’t even know that I am doing this when it is happening. A Rolls Royce is designed to be driven in, not to be driven. The only two models I can think off that I would want to get behind the wheel is the Wraith or the Dawn. Therefore I am a little confused with the Rolls Royce Cullinan… Could this be the first model in the range that fits between the two, a car that you can drive and or be driven in?

LOOKS Let’s start with the exterior, and honestly, I think it is better looking than the Bentayga. The exterior looks refined and purposeful. Now don’t get me wrong it is far from perfect, but it is more perfect than the Bentley. It is not as muscular, and I am glad, the Cullinan has a lot of flat panels, it is very BOXY… but

overall, a good looking SUV that will sell, I do not doubt that.

So, who is this Cullinan aimed at?

Well, according to RR it is for the young adventurer who wants to be able to take his Rolls Royce off the beaten track. For the individual who wants to be comfortable no matter where they are in the world, from park ranges to desserts to remote beaches. The Cullinan can raise or lower the ride height, it comes with a whole host of technology to allow the car to tackle any terrain.

POWER At the heart of the Cullinan, you have the 6.75-litre twin turbo V12 giving you around 563bhp, with all-wheel drive. I have not driven the Cullinan yet, but I imagine it will be very Phantom-like, smooth, quiet and a brilliant cross-continental cruiser.

INTERIOR This is were the Rolls Royce is the absolute master because they get it right every damn time! It is such a nice place to be, the leather is soft, the carpet is thick and thanks to the large windows it is light and spacious. When walking up to the car, I am drawn to the driver’s door?

It is odd, but I genuinely want to get behind the wheel and drive this Cullinan. This is something I don’t get

with the Phantom or Ghost. The front part of the cabin is a great place to be, everything is thoughtfully laid out, by pressing the ignition button, the infotainment screen is revealed behind the leather panel.

There is also a host of cutting-edge technology making this RR the most technologically advanced car in the range. You have access to Night Vision, Vision Assist, Alertness Assistant, birds-eye view of the car with Panoramic View, Active Cruise Control, Collision Warning, Lane Departure and Lane Changing Warning as well as head-up display and Wifi Hotspot. The Cullinan will also lower itself by 40mm to make entry easier and when you are ready to set off, the ride height will automatically go back to its normal setting. The driver’s dials are also all digital too.

This really is an impressive SUV and I can not give you a full break down until I have driven the car, but from initial viewing of the car, I am warming to it.

THE RAGING BULL:

Lamborghini Urus When I first saw the Urus, I not going to lie, but it put a smile on my face?

The design works, it is a little out of the box for what Lamborghini normally produces, but with access to Audi’s toolbox and resources, I think that they have done a fantastic job. All the Lamborghini design cues are present with sharp front bumper through to the muscular rear end.

The overall proportions of the car and spot on, it is not as big as the Bentagya or Cullinan, in fact, it is small, but this means that the car feels and looks far more sporty than the Bentley or Rolls Royce. The Urus is designed to be used on a daily basis, a Lamborghini that you can share with your friends and family.

The exterior design takes some inspiration from the earlier LM002.

The over the shape of the car feels like a large coupé, with frameless doors and a lower front end to aid aerodynamics. The windows are large allowing enough light to enter the cabin, and you can’t escape the muscular lines and use of the hexagonal theme from the wheel arches to the front grill.

Lets talk power! Underneath the hood, you have a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 that produces 650bhp.

That means that you can go from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds. There is no doubt in my mind that this SUV is quick and with 4 wheel drive, you can use the power produced from the engine nearly all the time, from a gravelly road to winding passes in the Alps. The engine itself is mounted lower down to ensure the car sticks to the road and helps the cars centre gravity, which helps reduce body roll through the corners.

with four-wheel drive so you can take this SUV almost anywhere. You have access to six different driving modes, Strada, Sport and Corsa with the addition of Neve (snow), Terra (off-road) and Sabbia (sand).

There is also the rear-wheel Steering which can vary depending +/- 3.0 degrees on which mode you have the car in but ultimately means that the Urus is easy to manoeuvre around town.

When you are blasting down the motorway or down a B-road, the exhaust note gives you a tingling sensation in your spine, but when you are just cruising, the cabin is quiet and comfortable and this brings me onto the interior.

When you open the driver’s door you are welcomed by a super simple dash. You have two screens in the centre, one for the main infotainment and the second to control the car functions like the air conditioning.

In the middle of the console, you cannot ignore the three big, what look like fighter jet throttle leavers.

The first leaver lets you choose the car mode, the large middle selector for the gears (Drive, park, reverse etc) and the third to control the suspension, and various other abilities.

Compared to the Cullinan and the Bentayga it doesn’t feel as posh, but this is a very different animal.

The Urus is for the driver, to give the family man or women who enjoy driving but want the practicality of a family SUV. Now don’t get me wrong the quality is absolutely flawless, the materials are soft, and layout if functional and the digital instrumental dials are stunning.

As I mentioned earlier that as with all Lamborghini’s the Urus comes

Final thoughts...

These three SUV’s are unique in their own right.

The Cullinan is perfect for taking you and your family for a weekend break to the Chalet in the woods, or a formal Polo event. Realistically this is not a car that you would take off-road and I am not talking about just driving in a field. The Cullinan is an amazing car and one that will sell really well, with individuals who want a Rolls Royce that they can drive themselves over the weekend.

I have not driven it yet, so I can’t tell you how it feels to drive, so keep this as an option for now.

The Urus is amazing SUV which is the sportier option out of the three. I

definitely won’t take this car off-road and would use it as a GT SUV, taking it across countries and for driving around towns and cities. The Urus is special, and honestly, if you are looking for an SUV that will give you smile, a buzz, then you have to add this your collection.

And the Bentayga? In my opinion, if you want a luxury SUV that can do it all, then this is the option for you.

It truly can do it all, it feels great to drive, it is practical, the interior is special and it really is a Super SUV that you can use every single day whether it is taking the family to cinema, doing the school run or even going on a grand tour, I would advise that you go down to your local Bentley showroom and take a test drive.

laurel: a superyacht for the grown ups I am fortunate enough to spend a considerable amount of time looking at superyachts across the luxury yachting market. It is a fair comment that each one is unique or, indeed, they definitely have a ‘something special about them’. Many superyachts tend to have a very clean and modern look, somewhat reflecting a luxury show home; using generic colours and metals . Don’t get me wrong, they look absolutely amazing, but perhaps just don’t feel like home if that’s what you are looking for.

Whilst browsing the most recent superyachts available, I received an email from Ocean Independence announcing that they have a new yacht available for charter named LAUREL. When I first saw the image of the yacht, it certainly made me stop and look - LAUREL radiates a stately feel, she is very much a superyacht for grown-ups.

One of my favourite details on LAUREL is the blue hull, which exudes so much style and presence whilst offering a vast amount of exterior space, perfect for relaxing with family and friends. The hull is made from traditional steel, but LAUREL has the latest stabilisation system, minimising any roll motion and ensuring guests enjoy a silky-smooth ride. Extensive travelling on board LAUREL is a breeze – thanks to her range of 6,000 nautical miles plus a cruising speed of 15 knots. If you are a keen diver, aft of the tenders located on the lower deck, is a convenient diving room that opens onto the large bathing platform, created by opening the stern door.

When embarking LAUREL for the first time, you will notice the vast amount of space available. With three external decks, there is ample room for you and your guests to have their own areas.. The main deck is where the hub of the yacht for guests, the Sundeck complete with fabulous Jacuzzi and sunbed area is a top spot for relaxation, whilst and you can dine in luxury overlooking the sea from the Bridge Deck..

The Bridge Deck is also a perfect location to socialise or entertain, but also a great place to watch the sunset with a freshly-made cocktail. . With one of the largest beach clubs that exist on a superyacht, Laurel offers a plethora of toys, including an inflatable slide, a 16’ inflatable trampoline, two wakeboards, a diving board, two giant water balls (hamster wheels) and even four mountain bikes for when you want to explore one of the many beautiful islands in the Mediterranean. One thing I can guarantee is that - you and your guests will never be short of activities on board Laurel!

Moving on to the interior, is it equally as amazing as the exterior?

Yes, it is! LAUREL can accommodate up to 12 guests in 7 staterooms Let’s start with the owner’s suite.

Located towards the bow of the yacht, this is the perfect place to enjoy some ultimate R&R in a haven of tranquillity. It is the grandest of all the staterooms and rightly so, with access to your own private lounge and office, but when you want to take the weight off your feet, enjoy the large king size bed and an impressive, oversized shower in the en-suite bathroom. The key highlight is that you have your very own veranda on either side of the master suite for use whether you are anchored or cruising.

Between the different levels, stunning glass artwork showcases underwater scenes, cleverly highlighted by fibre optic lighting.

How about the guest accommodation? There are four identical king size staterooms, each having their own unique accent and colour schemes and additional seating area. All have en-suite bathrooms crafted with precision, featuring granite counters, marble showers, wood inlays and striking Alchemy gold and silver leaf glass under mounted double sinks. The sixth stateroom is well suited for perhaps a nanny and/or children, with a queen bed and single bed plus Pullman option, together with en suite Jacuzzi bathroom.

Finally, the seventh stateroom is optional, depending upon guests’ requirements, it can serve as a

massage/spa room upon request, or as accommodation for staff or security with a convertible queen/ twin bed layout and en suite. For fitness fanatics, there is a fully equipped gym onboard, with the addition of a spa zone too.

The Crew At any given time, LAUREL has 22 permanent, professional crew who look after her throughout the year and ensure that when you step onboard every aspect of the exterior and interior are immaculate. When LAUREL is chartered, an additional two crew members are allocated, to ensure guests are given nothing but six-star plus service.

At the helm is Captain Roy Hodges, who has been in the marine industry from the tender age of 13 and at 19 obtained his first Captain’s license.

This sort of pedigree is hard to come by: you can rest assured that you are in the hands of an experienced individual who knows his way around every inch of the yacht. Over the last four vessels that Roy has captained, most of the crew under him have subsequently transitioned across to continue working with him – true testament to this seasoned professional. Say hello to elinor When deciding to charter a yacht, you have hundreds of vessels to choose from and when each one offers something unique, making that decision can be that little bit more challenging, but luckily for you, I am here to show you exactly what yacht you need to look at, and it is my pleasure to present Sanlorenzo SD122’ ELINOR, this 37-meter yacht has clean lines and stunning interiors.

Only last year Elinor had an extensive refit where Italian designer Marianna Sallemi redesigned her breath-taking interiors. Studio Spazio Sallemi’s experience on similar projects is beautifully revealed throughout this yacht.

When you enter the main saloon, it is spacious and minimalistic and the finishing details are truly impressive.

Within the dining area, there is an amazing cut marble lighting wall, smooth grey wooden flooring throughout and cosy Scandinavian furnishings. Each room onboard the yacht has leather and silk inlays which adorn her various panels with each cabin having its own en-suite white marble bathroom.

There is access to a complete beach club with Jacuzzi on the Sun Deck where you can also drink cocktails at the wet bar. The Bridge Deck features a sky lounge and dining area for those sunset moments in the Mediterranean.

What made you want to become a chef?

Cooking and eating has always been a big enjoyment in our family.

From an early age I was exposed to cookbooks from mainly local fine dining restaurants and as a teenager was privileged to visit some of them.

I always saw how food could bring pleasure to people, not only the diners but the chefs themselves.

How long have you been cooking professionally?

6 years and counting!

How did you get into yachting?

It’s an industry that allows people to make and save money whilst travelling the world. There are also many opportunities that come your way as a yacht chef that would not be possible in your “normal” everyday chefing life.

What is your favourite yachting destination?

So far it would have to be Bonifacio in Corsica for its natural beauty.

Provisioning wise, anywhere on the Cote d’Azur. There’s always the best choice of seasonal fruit, veg and fresh meat and fish. My favourite market would have to be marché Forville in Cannes.

What is the difference between cooking in a restaurant to a yacht?

As a sole chef on a yacht there is no one to fall back on except yourself, you prepare, cook and plate it all.

The hardest part would have to be no one able to brainstorm with or work on new ideas with.

Whilst on a yacht, what is the most unusual request you have had from a guest?

Homemade chicken soup at 4 in the morning… in 5 minutes?
