Homecoming week is the biggest highlight of a student’s high school career at East High School. The week brings trials and tribulations, emotion, authenticity, and the importance of school family. Progressing through the week every student looks forward to only one thing, the Homecoming Football Game. The biggest event before the big day of the Homecoming Dance. This season the T-Birds experienced a devastating loss against the opposing team the Sheridan Broncs. However, the school came together as a whole and showed that no matter the circumstances your school family always has your back. “The T-Bird nation is nothing short of family. The sight was so extraordinary seeing the raw sorrowful emotion from the players, but the crowd helping them back up.” says, Shai Prime 12.

The players, student section, even the media photographers came together to make a difference. “Capturing moments from the field is so surreal. It’s the eccentric joy to me knowing that through my lens I am able to capture the triumphs and tribulations of the game that the crowd doesn’t normally get to see.” says, Reese Hillmer 12. In the end all the emotion and family comes down to the players on the field who experience the action firsthand. “In the end the game of football isn’t about how you scored, but what you do about the wins and losses moving forward that makes all the difference. The Cheyenne Municipal Building Closure
The Cheyenne Municipal Building will remain closed for the next 30 days as of October 3. All City services remain available to the public and the main City phone line remains open at 307-6372000. While the Municipal Building is closed, staff and offices typically in the building have moved to other City facilities or are working remotely. Offices that offer in-person services and their locations are listed at the top of the City’s website at www.cheyennecity.org. City Council will continue to offer in-person attendance at its committee meetings, work sessions and full meetings of the Governing Body. All City Council meetings remain at their regular times but will be held in the Laramie County School District #1 Board Room at Storey Gym. Meetings will continue to be streamed on Zoom but streaming to the City’s Facebook and YouTube may be interrupted.

Surveillance video shows two unknown subjects on the utility provider’s property, gathering reels of copper wire and leaving out of camera view. It appears they broke into a gated yard and took over $1,500 worth of items.

Kiwanis Community Park Rules
Visitors to Kiwanis Community Park are reminded not to feed neighboring horses or any other wildlife while on the park property. The City has received complaints about the issue and signs are posted at the park, which is located off East Pershing Boulevard. The horses near the park are on private property and feeding neighboring horses can disrupt their diets and cause serious health issues.
