In 1980s, electronic music called GABBER or GABBA become popular in Europe. The music is also called TECHNO and is characterized by a very fast rhythm and the use of a bass drum. Different dance styles have been invented throughout the years as music has evolved. The BOLERO, for example, is a slow-tempo dance from Latin America, as is the MAMBO (not to be confused with the MAMBA snake) and the SAMBA.
