We are proud to share that our Easter Brunch welcomed an incredible 750 guests! The Saturday before, approximately 350 attendees enjoyed our Easter Egg Hunt, and our golfers completed 195 rounds. To-Go family meals next year—similar to what we do for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for Easter weekend. From the beautiful decorations and delicious food to the seamless service, housekeeping, landscaping, reservations, marketing, and beyond—there were so many hands involved in making it all happen. I extend my thanks to the entire Wynlakes staff for their dedication, preparation, and teamwork in bringing this special weekend to life.
Mother’s Day Brunch falls right behind Easter as far as attendance goes. We average 550 on this very special day. Keep this day in mind and make sure you make your reservations early. Mothers will appreciate you doing so. Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, May 11th!
As many of you know, Wynlakes is a truly beautiful setting—one that holds special meaning for so many of our members. In recent years, we’ve had the joy of seeing the children of long-time members celebrate their weddings, receptions, and rehearsal dinners right here at the Club. We’re excited to share our WYNWEDDINGS
editorial, featuring 14 of the 18 weddings hosted at Wynlakes in 2024. This collection showcases stunning photos and heartfelt testimonials, capturing how our venue and dedicated staff helped bring each couple’s dream wedding to life. A sincere thank you to the brides, grooms, and their families for choosing Wynlakes as your special place—and for allowing us to share a glimpse of your unforgettable day. Also, a special thank you to Noel Adamson, Wynlakes Events Coordinator, for collecting the information for the booklet and Hayley Richards, Wynlakes Marketing & Communications Director for designing the booklet. We have copies of this booklet at the Club but you can also find it in the member section of our website, www.wynlakes. com. Please contact Noel at #334-2738412 should you wish to hold your next event at Wynlakes.
Members continue to choose Wynlakes as the place to host their special events—and it all comes down to two key ingredients: our exceptional service and our delicious food. Chef Bernie and her culinary team have a true gift for making large-scale dining feel effortless—whether they’re cooking for 100 or 700. (Okay, maybe not effortless, but they sure make it look that way!) We’re also committed to ongoing training for our service staff, and we hope you’ve noticed the difference. I receive compliments regularly, and they’re a true testament to the dedication of our team.

Please join us in celebrating Felicia Bean, our February Employee of the Month! Felicia has been a valued member of the Wynlakes wait staff for nine months, and in that short time, she has made a lasting impression with her warm personality and outstanding service. Always putting her best self forward, Felicia is known for her friendly conversations, her positive attitude, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. One of Felicia’s favorite parts of her job is getting to meet new people and build connections with members. Felicia also has a soft spot for the club’s youngest visitors—she says seeing the kids brings her joy and gives her a little “kid fix” that always brightens her day. When she’s not at Wynlakes, Felicia enjoys relaxing with a good book or listening to music. Congratulations, Felicia, and thank you for all that you do!

Next to the common cold, back pain is the most frequent complaint heard by doctors.
Massage kneads away tension in the muscles, as well as relieving discomfort in surrounding areas that are “guarding” in response to the pain. It increases circulation, allowing healing nutrients and oxygen into the tissue.

Dr Dani,
What grip do I use to serve?
Sincerely, Samantha Server
Dear Samantha,
The continental grip is preferred by professionals for its versality. With the continental grip, you can slice, kick or hit a flat serve with one grip. Pronation is also critical with a continental grip which delivers racket head speed which converts into more pace or more spin on the serve. If you want to serve like the Pro’s, practice using the continental grip.
Sincerely,
Dr Dani

As our weather finally takes a favorable turn for the upcoming golf season, I always feel it is my duty, as a golf course superintendent, to remind all golfers of a few important golf etiquette practices. This helps us as golf course conditioners, but, just as importantly, helps out the golfers playing behind you every day.
First make sure to rake yourself out of the bunkers. I understand the frustration at the time of hitting out of a hazard, but remember there are golfers behind you and they need to have the same playing conditions that you had. Please take that extra 30 seconds to exit the bunker at the lower side (don’t climb out a steep face), rake out your footprints, and deposit the rake parallel along the bunker edge on the grass, not in the bunker. Filling your fairway divot is another

habit we need to embrace as it helps not only the grass to heal across the divot, but we all know the difficulties of trying to hit out of an unfilled divot. Fill yours and a couple other nearby divots.
Ballmarks, or the English version “pitchmarks”, shouldn’t have to be mentioned, but I am. The two men I have doing course set-up every morning fix at least a dozen every morning. We only fix what we find in the morning, so golfers playing the prior afternoon had to navigate their putts across numerous, unfixed “pitchmarks”. The healing time for a mark fixed immediately after it occurs is one day. A mark not repaired is a week- long eyesore.
Lastly is golf cart etiquette. Where to drive and where not to drive. Golfers love to drive where the person in front
of them just drove. The mentality of “If he drove there, it must be okay” seems to be the guiding force during a round of golf. Because of that thought process, we place hundreds of stakes, concrete barriers, and curbs to try and protect the very valuable commodity we are trying to beautify, the golf course grass. Although relatively small, a golf cart and its passengers can weigh close to a thousand pounds, enough to damage fragile turf, especially if it is repeatedly driven on in a weakened condition. Please don’t drive across areas of turf that are thin, through wet spots, or any other areas where it is obviously wrong to drive a cart. The GPS system helps us with a few of these areas like greens surrounds and tee boxes. Help us reach that goal and here’s to a great start to the golf season!
