As we gear up for summer, it’s vital to focus on the quantity of calories you consume for effective fat loss. Creating a calorie deficit—consuming fewer calories than your body uses—is essential to shedding unwanted fat.
1. Track Your Caloric Intake: Use a food diary or a calorie-tracking app to keep tabs on how much you’re eating. Awareness is the first step to control.
2. Portion Control: Pay close attention to portion sizes. Often, eating just a bit less can contribute significantly to creating the necessary calorie deficit.
3. Choose Satisfying Quantities: Opt for foods that allow you to eat larger volumes for fewer calories, like lean proteins, vegetables and fruits, which can help keep you feel full without overdoing calories.
Remember, while the type of food is important for overall health, the quantity has a bigger impact on weight loss. Focus on how much you eat to make a real difference in your summer fitness goals!

Next to the common cold, back pain is the most frequent complaint heard by doctors.
Massage kneads away tension in the muscles, as well as relieving discomfort in surrounding areas that are “guarding” in response to the pain. It increases circulation, allowing healing nutrients and oxygen into the tissue.
Don’t forget we have GIFT CARDS for birthdays and special occasions. Call Foad, today.
All clinics must be signed up on a google doc form we provide to plan how many will be attending before each class starts. All Clinics - $20 per clinic

The Golf Course will be closed July 8th through the 12th to complete aerification and DryJect procedures. Both of these procedures are crucial to ensuring and maintaining a healthy golf course and we fully expect to have a clean recovery within a couple of weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience the closure may cause but appreciate your patience.
Have any of you been wondering what that sound is that we have been hearing over the last several weeks? If you haven’t already figured it out, it’s actually a rare occurrence in the insect world. This noise has been created by cicadas, and what makes it different than any other year is amazing. This will be my topic for this month.
It’s official: 2024 belongs to the cicadas. This spring, two different broods of cicadas, one that lives on a 13-year cycle and the other that lives on a 17-year cycle have emerged at the same time from underground in a rare, synchronized event that last occurred in 1803. This year’s dual emergence is a once-in-a-lifetime event. While any given 13-year brood and 17-year brood can occasionally emerge at the

same time, each specific pair will see their cycles aligned only once every 221 years. These types of cicadas are periodical insects that spend most of their lives underground feeding on tree roots. When these insects emerge, they do so in big numbers. And they’re not exactly quiet in their mating frenzy. The insects are known to emit a high-pitched buzz, or mating song, that can reach up to 100 decibels — roughly equivalent to a motorcycle or jackhammer. The insects themselves are harmless to humans, but with billions of them set to emerge from underground, it can make for a noisy few weeks before the cicadas reach the end of their life cycles. Once they emerge, they will mate and lay eggs. After this the cicadas will die and the
whole process starts over again. This was a topic that interested me a lot. I remember studying about these cicadas in school but I haven’t had the opportunity to see them or hear them until now. We have annual cicadas every year but not near the abundance as this year’s hatch. I hope this was an interesting and an informative topic. These things don’t happen every day or even every 221 years. These are the wonders of nature.
