We would like to thank each of you who contributed to the Holiday Bonus Fund for our team members. The staff truly appreciated your generosity and support.
I have volunteered with various non-profits for the past 20 years. This year, I was proud to inspire our team to take part in a meaningful project for the Cancer Wellness Center. Together, several team members collaborated to decide which organization to support.
We chose the Cancer Wellness Center because many of us have been personally affected by cancer, whether through our own experiences, or those of family and friends. Our staff collected supplies to assemble 100 wellness bags, which are provided to patients undergoing chemotherapy at the Montgomery Cancer Center. These bags included thoughtful items like tissues, hand sanitizer, puzzle books, hard candy, socks, and blankets. Most of our team came together to pack these bags following our Christmas party, and it was a moment of pride and purpose for everyone involved
We had several ‘FIRSTS’ in 2024…
expanded salad bar, began online to go orders, adjusted sitter service hours, discontinued mailing the ‘Wyndows’ through USPS, conducted a 6-month preview membership program providing primary sponsors with 6 months credited dues, moved Golf Member/Guest to a 2-day tournament w/no theme, installed new forward tees on the golf course, developed new pool menus and extended pool hours, transformed the fitness office into a fitness ‘shop’, began Thursday Football Nights on the Terrace for families w/kids playing in the courtyard, Happy Hour in the Tavern and began TRIVIA nights.
Words from our Directors regarding their 2024 year at Wynlakes are:
Teamwork, Unexpected, Reborn, Rejuvenated, Excited, Thankful, Change, Restart, Gratitude, Transition and Blessed. Employee morale has been high and member support has been incredible. Thank YOU!
Now onto a few ‘FIRSTS’ for 2025. Look for….
• Fit for the Fairway Fitness Class
• Golf Handicap Challenge
• Teen/Tween Pickleball Event
• Margaritas & Martinis in May
• Summer FRIDAY FUN Days w/Allan

We are also looking forward to two Auburn University Hospitality students coming in during the summer to fulfill their internships in our culinary and events areas. As always, my door is open for you. My contact information is susannet@wynlakes. com or you may give me a call at #334279-0297. I, and your Wynlakes staff, look forward to serving you better each day.

This month, we are excited to celebrate Julius Wigfall as Wynlakes’ October Employee of the Month! Julius has been a part of the kitchen team for the past three years, and his dedication, hard work, and ever-present smile have made a lasting impact on both staff and members. Originally from Pine Level, Julius brings his vibrant energy and positive attitude to every shift. When asked to describe himself in three words, he chose “hardworking, dedicated, and happy” — and anyone who knows Julius can attest to that! He has a unique talent for lifting spirits and making others smile, so much so that he claims he doesn’t know how to frown. Outside of work, Julius enjoys hunting and mud riding, embracing the great outdoors whenever he gets the chance. His mornings always start with a moment of gratitude, as he gives thanks to God before beginning his day. Looking ahead to 2025, Julius has his sights set on learning how to golf — a perfect hobby for someone who brings such joy and energy to our Wynlakes family. Thank you, Julius, for your outstanding contributions, your infectious positivity, and your commitment to making Wynlakes a happier place for everyone. We’re lucky to have you!
If not, please log on to www.wynlakes.com and enter your e-mail address to receive weekly updates about “What’s Happening at Wynlakes,” view your monthly statements, check out the daily lunch buffet, and much more. E-blasts will let you know the activities happening at the club. Remember, to log on for the first time, your user name is your member number followed by a 0 for the primary member, a 1 for the spouse. Your password is your first initial with your last name, all lowercase. Contact Hayley Richards at 334-279-0297 or hayleyr@wynlakes.com with any questions.
We are proud to announce that Arnold Roberson, affectionately known as “Zoom” around the Club, has earned the title of Wynlakes’ Employee of the Year! Arnold’s dedication, positivity, and exceptional work ethic have made him a beloved member of the Wynlakes family. Arnold has been part of Wynlakes for several years, and after returning to the team three years ago, he has continued to shine. He begins each day with gratitude, giving thanks to God and drawing strength from the support of his colleagues and members. Arnold expressed heartfelt appreciation to his supervisors, Kelly Dean and Susanne, as well as his fellow staff members, for inspiring him to strive for excellence.
Arnold’s nickname “Zoom” is a testament to his speed, efficiency, and unstoppable energy. He takes great pride in his work, especially when it comes to cleaning the floors — always challenging himself to improve with each task. His commitment to making Wynlakes spotless and welcoming is admired by all. In his free time, Arnold enjoys playing dominoes, watching football, boxing, UFC, and Dateline. Weekends are reserved for quality time with his grandkids, who love his cooking just as much as he enjoys making it for them. Arnold also wants to give a heartfelt thank you to Rev. Terry Ellison, Mr. Jeff Blitz, and Mr. Eddie Stewart for their early morning prayers and support. Their kindness and faith have given Arnold strength in facing recent health challenges. Arnold’s spirit of gratitude, hard work, and joy is truly inspiring. Wynlakes is honored to have such a dedicated team member. Thank you, Arnold for your incredible contributions and for reminding us all of the power of perseverance and positivity!

How do I develop touch and drop shots for tennis and/or pickleball?
Sincerely,
David Dinkmaster
Dear David,
AUSTRALIAN OPEN TENNIS ROUND ROBIN
Drop shots and dinks are essential in both tennis and pickleball. Playing mini tennis or warming up at the kitchen is a great way to begin with your partner. Stand by the service line and gently bump the ball over at a cone target very close to the net on both sides and try to rally aiming at the targets. Hands should feel soft and grip lightly to control the ball. Move back to center of court and practice the dink or drop shot and finally to the baseline. Make it a routine to practice touch and drop shots and you will improve your game.
Sincerely,
Dr Dani

It’s a new year, and we are excited for it on the golf course! We had a great year in 2024. Last year was one of the best years for turf quality and overall performance of the course that we have had at Wynlakes. We are going to continue those practices going into this year. This in my opinion will lead us into another great year on the course. We have set a bar and are going to continue to climb.
As far as what has been happening with maintenance on the course, we have been doing a lot of tree limbing. A lot of the work has taken place on hole #3 and what a difference it has made. We will also be working on some drainage on #10 and #11. Pre emerge will be going out late January. As soon as temperatures start to come up we will start our topdressing on greens. The
early start on this last year really set us up for a strong spring with our greens. We are looking forward to spring already. I am so excited about this upcoming year at Wynlakes. Like I said earlier we have set a bar with last year and we are going to go higher this year. I hope everyone has had a great holiday season and a happy start to the New Year. Hope to see you on the course!
A Hole In One is everyone’s dream! They are in the back of your mind every time we come to Holes 4, 7, 11, and 17. Make sure you are signed up for the Hole In One Club (HIOC) to profit off of your dream come true. When a HIOC member makes his/her hole in one, the entire list of HIOC members is charged $10 that is transferred to the member in Golf Shop Credit. Your next Hole In One could buy your next set of irons!!
Mark your calendars now – Saturday, February 22nd. We’ll have the course lit up and ready for a fun time. There will be a beverage cart and dinner buffet under the golf patio. Night Golf will open at 6:00pm and will close at 9:00pm. Sign up your group today!! Limited to the first 48 golfers to register.
Many of our members currently take advantage of our various club services programs. Existing subscribers will be automatically renewed on January 1, 2025 unless the Business Office (334-279-0297) is otherwise notified. Members who desire these services later in the year will be charged full annual fees regardless of the dates used. These service fees will not be prorated on a monthly basis so SIGN UP NOW!
