Happy September!
As we close out the summer at Wynlakes, I would like to thank Allan Barber and our pool/pool grill staff for doing a fantastic job this summer. They kept that area clean, used and safe which are always our top priorities. Allan and his crew managed a swim team, taught multiple swim lessons, fed many families and welcomed approximately 300 wyn-campers at the pool this summer. We also introduced

We also offered approximately 75 water aerobics classes. Thank you to our members and kiddos who came out and enjoyed our beautiful resort-style pool and surroundings.
Our Wyn-Team is in the process of planning our 2025 marketing calendar. I have challenged them to bring some new ideas to the table that our members are sure to enjoy. If you would like to see anything specific, please let us know.
Holiday season will be here before you know it. December is by far our busiest
After evaluating our hot lunch buffet, we have decided not to bring this back after the summer months as a lunch offering. With much waste, we do not find it prudent for us to continue. We will, however, continue our expanded salad bar, daily lunch specials and our ala carte lunch menu. We will also be assessing our Wednesday Night Family Buffet and Sunday Brunch.
Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 8th. Bring the Grandparents out for Brunch and let them enjoy a peaceful and labor free meal offered by our very talented staff. We will also have Cinderella and Ariel here for the children. Sunday Brunch is from 11:001:30. Reservations available at www. wynlakes.com.

This special event is right around the corner, Wednesday, October 23rd, and is an ALL TIME FAVORITE! We have added a pumpkin patch for the
little ones. They will be delivered, via a hayride, to the ‘pumpkin patch’ where they will pick out their pumpkins, then return to the arts and crafts station to decorate. We will also have laser tag, inflatables and the haunted hayride. The BOOFET will also be offered for dining! Make your reservations at www. wynlakes.com. Seating will be all areas of the Club.

Next to the common cold, back pain is the most frequent complaint heard by doctors.
Massage kneads away tension in the muscles, as well as relieving discomfort in surrounding areas that are “guarding” in response to the pain. It increases circulation, allowing healing nutrients and oxygen into the tissue.

What is a dink in Pickleball and when should I use it?
Sincerely, Debbie Dinker
Dear Debbie,
A dink is a shot hit into the no volley zone (kitchen) that is hit with finesse and touch. Dinking is a great way to warm up to begin play. The dink is a great way to equalize a point and get you into a neutral position when in trouble. If two players are deep in the court, a dink can be used. If two players have rushed the net against you, a dink keeps them from dominating the point. Mastering the dink should be in everyone’s playbook.
Sincerely, Dr. Dani

Sheldon Burnside had a Hole-In-One on #7 recently. The ACE came with his 7 iron from 152 yards and was witnessed by Jimmy Daniel. The Hole-In-One was good news for Sheldon but also bad news because he was not in the Hole-In-One club and forfeited the potential winnings. Congratulations on the ACE!!

Do you have a club that doesn’t seem to hit as straight or consistent as the others? All jokes aside - You could have a lie angle that doesn’t match the rest of your set? Come see Kyle or Steve to discuss having a lie angle checked – it can’t hurt anything and could help solve why that 8 iron never seems to fly as straight!!
Well its that time of year. We are trying to round the corner of summer and drift into fall. This is the time of year we look forward to on the golf course. Days are getting a little shorter and the sometimes unbearable heat is starting to subside. Looking for that first cool breath of fall air. This is the time we need to start gearing up for the winter.
This time of year, the grass is still actively growing and taking up nutrients. In saying that with less day light and the addition of a hopeful cooler night the grass is starting to slow down its growth a little. This is the perfect time to put out your fall fertilizer. The type of fertilizer is the key thing to pay attention too. Unlike your spring fertilizer where we are looking for high nitrogen to jump start growth, we are trying to grow healthy roots for the winter and the key thing we want in our fertilizer is potassium. Fertilizer is formed of three main nutrients N-P-K which is Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. We are looking for a small first number and a high last number. For example, a 12-0-20 would be great. This gives you a little nitrogen for grass growth and more potassium for the roots headed into winter. Growing strong healthy root for the winter will help prevent winter kill due to extended cold periods during the winter. This will also help will the green up stage in the spring. The roots are the foundation of the plant. Next thing coming up will be our fall pre-emerge later in the year.
Like I stated earlier fall is around the corner and we are all looking forward to some cooler nights. Football season is here and it’s a great time for golf. I look forward to seeing everyone on the course and the possibility of a light jacket early in the morning.
