Shortly after the announcement of the pandemic, the Murphy Chamber board of directors began meeting to develop a plan for the chamber to act upon. The idea of #murphyunites emerged and has been running successfully on the chamber Facebook page. The goal is to create a movement that will boost local businesses while meeting the needs of our residents. To further the efforts to “Shop Local”, the City of Murphy launched a new website on May 15th as a collaborative effort with the Chamber on our history. Designs were submitted and voted on by the community. The top 3 designs included - “Murphy Strong t-shirt” (submitted by Pat Brown), “Just Roll With It” (submitted by Dheeya Jivnani) and “Social Distancing Social Club” (submitted by Glazer Family Dentistry). We want to thank those that participated and enjoyed seeing all the creative design entries. T-shirts will be available for purchase through the Chamber soon at www.bonfire.com/ store/murphyunites-merchandise and proceeds will benefit our local business community! • of Commerce to expand upon the #murphyunities movement.
