Spring doesn’t arrive all at once at Wyelea. It gathers slowly across the hills, along the river, and through the fields where intention has taken hold. What was once groundwork now carries a sense of structure, of progress made visible in the land itself.
In this issue of The Current, we mark a meaningful turning point. With infrastructure complete and the first homes on the horizon, Wyelea enters a new phase. One defined not just by progress, but by presence. We share a look at recent milestones across the property, along with a closer view into The Commons and Hale House. Places that will soon shape the daily rhythm of life here.

ON-SITE DEVELOPMENT
Wyelea entered a highly anticipated new phase in April, marked by a tree-planting ceremony alongside key partners—a quiet but meaningful gesture toward the beginnings of life here.
Nearly two-thirds of homesites are reserved, and construction of the first residences is set to begin this summer. Conceived by the Wyelea Guild, an accomplished collective of architects, builders, and landscape architects, each home is designed as a natural extension of the land. Integrity of materials and thoughtful proportion take precedence over ornament, resulting in architecture that feels both enduring and grounded.
Across the property, progress has entered a new level of clarity. With roads, utilities, and stormwater systems now complete, attention turns to the arrival experience along Del Rio Pike. Utility relocations and roadway enhancements are nearing completion, with landscape, lighting, and permanent signage beginning to define the approach. Just beyond, Kelmscott Road will be marked by limestone curbing and cobblestone rumble strips, introducing a quieter, more deliberate sense of entry.
The Post, Wyelea’s gatehouse and mail pavilion, is nearly complete. Inspired by the tobacco barns, mule sheds, and dogtrots of Tennessee, its form also draws from the historic corn cribs found throughout Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It will serve as both a point of arrival and a daily touchpoint within the community.
Work on The Commons and Hale House is also underway. Foundational systems are in place and construction is in progress. Forms are beginning to emerge, signaling the transition from groundwork to the first expressions of shared life.

Woven into the landscape and daily rhythm of life, The Commons is envisioned not as a destination apart, but as an extension of the village itself.
Bringing this vision into form is a team with deep experience in shaping places of lasting character. Daniel Communities oversees amenities, club operations, and the member experience. Their portfolio includes Reynolds Lake Oconee, Cashiers Lake, Kane Island, and High Hampton. Brasfield & Gorrie, a nationally recognized contractor, is leading construction.
Together, these partners bring a shared understanding: the most meaningful places are not defined by scale or spectacle, but by how naturally they come to life over time.
HALE HOUSE
Here, wellnessfinds its home at Wyelea. A place shaped around the individual, quietly attuned to personal rhythms and set within the restorative calm of the land.
Light-filled and grounded in natural materials, the space is designed to feel both considered and unforced. Within it, a movement studio and fitness center developed in partnership with Technogym sit alongside a thermal spa featuring a hot pool, cold plunge, infrared sauna, steam, and treatment rooms.
Beyond its walls, an adult-only lap and relaxation pool extends the experience into the landscape. Gardens, trails, and social spaces create a seamless connection between moments of rest and movement, between solitude and shared experience.
Guiding the vision is Curry Spa Consulting, whose work includes Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood Hotels, and Yellowstone Club. Their approach reinforces a simple idea—wellness is not something prescribed, but something discovered over time, and in one’s ownway.
