word from the headmaster
At Moor Allerton, we want every child to enjoy learning, achieve well and develop the confidence and character they need for the next stage of their education. We are delighted that our 2026 ISI inspection recognises the strength of our curriculum, positive relationships and caring, inclusive school community. The report highlights pupils’ progress, the quality of teaching, and the breadth of opportunities available through sport, science, creative activities and leadership. It also recognises the importance placed on pupils’ wellbeing, safety and personal development from nursery through to Year 6. This outcome reflects the commitment of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils and the support of our families. We are proud that all relevant Standards were met and remain focused on continuing to strengthen the education and experience we provide for every child.

Leadership, management and governance Leaders and governors provide a caring and inclusive school community. Leaders evaluate the school’s effectiveness through a systematic programme of monitoring activities. Leaders promote pupils’ wellbeing through a culture that places inclusion, support and achievement at the centre of decision-making. Leaders promote pupils’ physical and emotional wellbeing through pastoral provision and nurturing relationships.
personal development Pupils contribute positively to school and community life through leadership, charitable activities and community engagement. These opportunities develop responsibility, confidence and an understanding of contributing to society. Pupils take on leadership roles including school council, eco club, prefects, house captains and heads of school. Pupils understand the importance of fairness and respecting differences.

learning and achievement Leaders have developed a broad, well-sequenced curriculum that builds pupils’ knowledge, understanding and skills. Teaching is characterised by strong subject knowledge, positive relationships and clear explanations. An extensive programme of co-curricular and recreational activities enhances pupils’ learning, preparing children for the next stage of their education. In Reception, children learn in a stimulating environment where well-planned activities and strong partnerships with parents support good progress.
pastoral care Leaders promote pupils’ physical and emotional wellbeing effectively through the curriculum, pastoral provision and nurturing relationships. Relationships between pupils and staff are positive and contribute to the school’s nurturing environment. Pupils feel safe in school and know how to seek support when needed. The PSHE curriculum develops pupils’ understanding of healthy lifestyles, emotional wellbeing and personal safety.
