A Needed Partnership Development Trip Planned For June 2007
We praise the Lord that recently some large financial gifts have been given to us to help meet some outstanding financial needs. Several new people have also pledged their monthly support to us. We appreciate all who have given to help keep us involved in this Bible translation ministry! While these gifts have helped catch us back up and improved our overall support level, we still lack full support to continue our work, Therefore, we are planning a month long visit to the Michigan area and surrounding states in June 2007 to meet our current supporters and churches and express our thanks and to seek out new opportunities to share the vision of our ministry with Wycliffe. During our visit in Michigan we will be speaking at a Wycliffe Associate meeting in Hudsonville, MI on st June 21 . This meeting will give us an opportunity to share our work and say thanks to many people from Michigan who come each winter to Florida to volunteer at our Wycliffe Headquarters.

In December 2006 we shared with you that there are 66 indigenous languages spoken in Burkina Faso and to date only three languages have the complete Bible and only another 25 languages have either a New Testament or portions of the Bible. Peru has at least eight languages left to translate. Therefore, Chuck’s Recruitment Ministries “Next Gen” youth department planned several short trips this summer through their “GET Global (Go Experience Translation)” program to challenge young people to meet this need.
Barb has been working the past few months to set up a Get Global trip to Burkina Faso and Peru. We praise the Lord that seven young people have signed up to go to Burkina Faso and nine to go to Peru. Although Barb will not be able to travel with the Burkina Faso group like we thought, the trips will be held in late June and early July. Please pray for safety for the participants and that several will make a commitment to one day becoming a Bible translator in one of the remaining languages in Burkina Faso or Peru.
