MICHEALS’ MEMOIRS 20055 January 200
AGAIN!!! !!! ON THE ROAD AGAIN WE ARE MOVING TO ORLANDO, FLORDIA FLORDIA TO SERVE WITH WYCLIFFE Over the past few months we have been in communication with senior leadership of Wycliffe USA. They have been considering Chuck for the position of Vice President for Mobilization in Orlando, Florida.
Our New Place Of Work – Orlando, F Florida lorida
In early January they officially asked Chuck to take up this position. After praying and consulting our family and sending church we decided to accept this change of assignment with Wycliffe. Therefore in mid-February 2005 we will be moving to Orlando. Chuck begins his new position March 1, 2005. Chuck's responsibilities will include oversight of the recruitment of individuals and church mobilization work that Wycliffe is doing in the USA. Barb's position at this time is unclear, but her main role initially will be to help us settle into Orlando. While Chuck's position will change from what he has been doing in Chicago and he will have more of a leadership role in Wycliffe, we do not see this as a "promotion" as the world might. We believe God has called us to this work in Orlando. We also believe God has equipped Chuck for this position and prepared Barb for her new position. Therefore we see this move as simply an act of obedience to do our part in the Bible translation task.
Wycliffe’s USA Headquarters in Orlando
Once we arrive in Orlando we will be renting an apartment at the Wycliffe Orlando center for a few weeks or months until we can find a house to purchase. We looked at a few houses when we were in Orlando recently, but didn't have enough time to make any decisions.
Wycliffe Apartments – Our Temporary Home
We will need a down payment on a house, an increase in our monthly support to help make house payments and funds to help with moving costs. All are current needs we have. As with our previous positions with Wycliffe, we still will not receive any salary from Wycliffe and so will continue to depend solely on financial gifts from interested churches and individuals.
