MICHEALS’ MEMOIRS

During the afternoon, we were given the opportunity to promote our Wycliffe Internship program. That is the program that Barb handles. She talks to people about their interest and handles their applications if they want to serve.

September 2021 Update

Over 80 students came to the hour-long presentation and afterward we had almost 20 students express interest in serving as an intern with us in the next year or two.

Dear Friends and Family, For over 10 years, we have been involved in sharing with students from Reformation Bible College (RBC) about the work of Bible translation. We praise God for those opportunities!!! RBC is located in Sanford, Florida just opposite from Saint Andrew’s Chapel where we attend church. That means we have not only met students at RBC, but also as they worship with us. It is always a great delight to meet new students.

Over the years, as a result of our contacts, some students have gone on to study linguistics and go into Bible translation work while others have found other paths of service in missions. All have learned about the needs of the Bibleless and this past month was no exception. In the past, Chuck has spoken in RBC chapels, held prayer meetings with students twice a month for unreached people groups and spoken at luncheons. Both of us even held a full day translation seminar a few years ago at RBC. This month, both of us were able to set up a Wycliffe Bible Translators’ display table and talk to students throughout the day. We were amazed by the interest in the students to our work!

The evening at RBC was spent in a student lead worship time called Abide. It is a time for students to sing, pray and hear someone share a message from God’s Word. Chuck spoke on Psalm 96:1-11 about the glory of God going to the nations. He shared how the gods of the nations are idols and how God’s Word gives light and life so people can hear and believe the Good News of Jesus and begin to worship the Lord. Around 80 students came to hear this message.
