MICHEALS’ MEMOIRS
conference in Portland, Oregon in January. Over the course of just three days, we had 134 people register their interest in teaching missionary children.
Dear Friends and Family,
Please pray that we would see a record number of new teachers recruited this year. There are openings for 31 teachers at Ukarumpa in elementary and high school grades. Hundreds of other teaching jobs also need to be filled worldwide.
This fall and winter have been a busy and productive time for our recruitment work with Wycliffe. We just finished our recent fiscal year and accomplished three main things.
If you know of a teacher who can help, please have them contact us, have them visit the Wycliffe Teacher web site HERE or send them to Mission Teach as soon as possible!
1st It was our best year in more than six years for recruiting new Wycliffe missionaries. Two hundred and six people joined the Bible translation work from the USA!!!

March 2011 Update
2nd We accomplished this with fewer staff. In 2005 when we arrived in Orlando, Chuck’s recruitment team had over 140 members. Today he has 112 staff working with him. That means each missionary staff was more productive in the use of their time. 3rd We accomplished these results using just a third of the money spent for each new member when compared to what we were spending in 2005. All this has meant that missionary dollars and staff are being put to better use. We praise the Lord that He has enabled us to achieve this!
Our Recruitment Travels A year ago we wrote about an web site Chuck’s team helped develop. It is a web site called Mission Teach - www.missionteach.com. The purpose of the site is to help us recruit more teachers for our overseas schools where missionary children are being educated. In early February, the school at Ukarumpa in Papua New Guinea where our children received their education, wrote us to let us know that they recently had three teachers come to teach from this effort. Another mission school also wrote us to let us know that they had eight teachers and a high school principle come from this effort! As part of our effort to promote the Mission Teach web site, we both attended a very large missions
Chuck & Barb With Jeanette Sheeran - Our Spokane, WA Recruiter
On our trip to the Northwest, we stopped in Spokane, WA and visited Moody Bible Institute’s Spokane, WA campus. Several years ago Moody developed a new campus near the west coast to help meet the growing number of students looking for a Bible college. This is good news for Wycliffe because Moody is one of the colleges which is training students to become Bible translators. It was a difficult school to get into due to space limitations at their Chicago, IL campus. Now, students can attend this Moody school in Spokane, WA. A number of young people who went on the GET Global trips that Barb organizes are attending the Moody Bible Institute school in Spokane, WA. They are being trained to be the next wave of Bible translators!
