Representing our Dutch heritage, our ties to Papua New Guinea (pottery) and the spring time in Florida!
Chuck and Barb at the conference
Dear Friends and Family, Many of you know that in March we took a trip to Germany on behalf of Wycliffe to attend a conference for educators. This conference was for teachers and administrators from various schools set up for missionary kids (MK). We represented Wycliffe since we recruit teachers and administrators for many of these schools. The conference was both encouraging and enlightening as it not only put us in contact with the staff who handle recruits who come to these schools, but it also pointed out areas where we need to improve in our recruitment work. Much of our time was spent manning a table for Wycliffe which conference attendees visited. Some of our time was also spent attending educational workshops and the main sessions of the conference so we could learn more about education for missionary children. Chuck was also pleased to be able to do a workshop on recruitment for a dozen schools. He was also able to have one-on-one sessions with several schools to help them specifically in their recruitment efforts.
Barb with Isaac and Suzanne at the conference
One of the great joys we had at the conference was spending time with two of our children, their wives and four of our grandchildren. Our son Isaac and his wife Suzanne are Wycliffe teachers at Black Forest Academy (MK school) in Kandern, Germany were the conference was held. We hung out with them at the conference where Suzanne presented at three workshops. We also stayed with them for few nights at their home.
