MICHEALS’ MEMOIRS March 2021 – Special Edition
Dear Friends and Family,
Orlando, FL four times a year and each year we have recruits we have helped join Wycliffe who come to this event. So, we visit each course and congratulate our recruits and let them know we will continue to pray for them. Here we are with three new recruits we helped join Wycliffe. The woman on the left is actually now working in the store Chuck managed at Ukarumpa in Papua New Guinea.
Serving long term in recruitment has its benefits. Many years ago, when we were doing recruitment in Chicago for Wycliffe, one of the programs we hosted was called “TOTAL It Up!” We wrote about those courses here:

We finished our lunch time at EQUIP with our recruits who had become Wycliffe missionaries and to our great surprise a couple came up to us and said they recognized us. We didn’t know them by sight, but they told us their names and we remembered the wife since she was one who came to a TOTAL It Up course!
We hosted many of these courses and hundreds of college students took the course and many applied to Wycliffe afterwards. However, we have always wondered what happened to all of them. A year or so ago, we were at the new member orientation called EQUIP. It’s held in Chuck and Barb with Michael and Rachel Aubrey

BIBLE TRANSLATORS Rachel told us at TOTAL It Up she decided to become a Bible translator! As we talked more, Michael reminded us that we had met him when he was a student at Moody Bible Institute. He had come to a Wycliffe Trans Scan event (a one-day look at Bible translation) we hosted in Chicago 2004. It was there he decided to become a Bible translator! Well, they eventually met at our linguistic school and got married.
THEIR STORY ON MOODY RADIO Recently they were interview by Moody Radio and we hope you will listen to their journey to Wycliffe. We are mentioned early on in the interview!

They are now fully trained and brilliant linguists! At their linguistic school Rachel did a thesis on “Middle Voice Hellenistic Greek”. After their training Michael hosted a workshop on “Perfect Tense” at the “Linguistic and New Testament Greek Conference” in 2019! Together they worked on a research project on “A Comprehensive Grammar of Hellenistic and Early Roman Greek.” Find us at: http://cbmicheals.ning.com/ 2|Page
