This past year, more than 4,800 donors made gifts to benefit Slippery Rock University. The reasons for giving were as diverse as the donors themselves: grateful alumni looking to give back; faculty, staff, friends and neighbors who believe in the university‘s mission; parents of students honoring their children‘s education; corporations and foundations who want to make a difference in students‘ lives. Thanks to your generosity, Slippery Rock University achieved its fundraising goal by exceeding $2.7 million, a 33 percent increase in charitable giving over five years ago.

Your support did more than just help us surpass goals. It helped Slippery Rock hire and retain excellent faculty who embrace teaching. It improved and maintained a beautiful residential campus with state-of-the-art facilities. And it assisted students in fulfilling their dream of earning a college degree – a Slippery Rock University degree. Slippery Rock endures as an institution of quality, a public university serving the public good. This has been validated by organizations such as The Princeton Review and U.S. News and World Report that have named SRU as one of the “Best Universities in the Northeast,” one of the “Top 100 Regional Universities,” one of the most environmentally responsible institutions, and most recently a “College of Distinction” nationally. We have much for which we can be proud – and thankful.

THE FOUNDERS’ Society In conjuction with Slippery Rock’s 125th Anniversary, the University launched The Founders’ Society, a new annual giving society honoring the sustained commitment of Slippery Rock’s most loyal supporters.

DRIVE FOR $1.9 million in gifts and commitments was realized for the 125th Anniversary Challenge surpassing the campaign’s $1.25 million goal.

Annual Giving at Slippery Rock includes thousands of gifts from SRU’s loyal alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends. These contributions benefit Slippery Rock students, by providing scholarships, computer and laboratory equipment, course development, student research projects, summer internship stipends, athletics, clubs and organizations, and so much more.
