What to Know The health and safety of the staff and public is our priority. Procedures are in place to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all while attending activities. We continue to follow the guidance of provincial health experts. Rules are subject to change and will be updated as needed. Those disregarding rules may be asked to leave the facility.

No drop-in classes or programs on statutory holidays or long weekends.

Program Withdrawals

In order to receive a full refund/credit, requests must be received at least 72 hours prior to the program start date.

Requests received after this time will not be accepted. Exceptions may be made for medical, relocation or other extenuating circumstances and the refund/credit will be issued on a pro-rated basis at the sole discretion of SEAPARC Leisure Complex.

Supporting documentation, i.e. medical note, may be required. A $5 administration fee will apply to all refund requests.

Drop In Withdrawals

Minimum 24 hour cancellation notice is required for all reserved activities including weight room, pool and fitness.

Licensed Preschool Program Withdrawal

Withdrawals must be submitted in writing to the Recreation Coordinator 30 days prior to the last day that your child will attend the program.

Program Cancellations

Minimum registration must be met within 72 hours prior to the start of any program. Please register early to avoid disappointment of cancelled programs.

Personal Training Withdrawals We require 72 hours notice in order to reschedule a session. Withdrawals within 72 hours notice and missed sessions cannot be rescheduled or refunded.

NSF

Any NSF transactions will be subject to a $15 fee.

Holidays/Long Weekends

Most programs are not scheduled to run on statutory holidays or long weekends.

This will be noted on your program registration confirmation.

Licensed Preschool

The SEAPARC Licensed Preschool program follows a fun and educational play-based learning philosophy.

Our qualified, caring teachers engage children’s curiosity with a thoughtfully planned program. The preschool program goals are to encourage and facilitate learning in all areas of development during these important early years.

We provide many opportunities that will support your child’s natural desire to learn as well as gain important social skills.

We offer an enriched preschool program with carefully planned activities set up in a welcoming and inviting classroom. The program provides opportunities for creative art, storytelling, music and movement, constructing, science discoveries and more! All of these wonderful activities build self-confidence and social connections with others. Having these experiences will help your child gain independence and assist with their readiness for entering kindergarten.

Outdoor explorations and building skills for Physical Literacy are an important part of our daily program. The preschool classes utilize the wonderful outdoor spaces that SEAPARC has to offer, including the preschool play yard, sports field, “fairy” forest and nature trails.

Camp Staff

Your children are in good hands with our camp leaders. All camp leaders have: • Experience working with children • Completed criminal record checks • First Aid, CPR, and child protection training • Additional training in behaviour management, conflict resolution, Covid-19 safety protocols and program planning

Client Information Forms:

Please complete and return a Client Information Form 1 week prior to the first day of camp.

Sign In & Out:

Parents and alternate pick-ups are required to sign-in and out each day. Photo ID is required.

Some children may sign themselves out with written permission, see reception for more details.

What to bring to summer programs:

To have a positive and enjoyable program experience, children should bring the following each day:

• A nutritious lunch with morning &

afternoon snack • Weather appropriate clothing (eg. jackets, sun shirts, etc.)

• Bathing suit & towel • Refillable water bottle • Hat • Sunscreen • Running shoes/athletic sandals (no flip flops) • Comfortable back pack to put all belongings in Please label all belongings and clothing with the child’s name. Please do not send your child to the program with any electronics including cell phones, toys from home or valuables.

Sunscreen, Medications, Epi-pens & Inhalers: Sunscreen will need to be applied prior to your child coming to camp. They will be encouraged to reapply by themselves throughout the day. If your child needs help applying sunscreen please send a SPRAY style bottle.

If your child requires medication during program hours, a medication form must be completed before the first day of camp.

At summer camps we ask all participants to: • Be safe • Be respectful • Be a participant

All children and youth attending recreation programs are expected to behave in a manner which ensures their own safety and the safety of other participants, staff and volunteers in the program. Staff will be responsible for explaining rules and boundaries for participants, reminding children about appropriate behaviour and to encourage positive behaviour in their program.

Parents will be notified if children and youth are not meeting behavioural expectations or following rules. Children endangering their safety or another person’s safety may be asked to the leave the program and only return when accommodations can be made to ensure the safety of all.

Junior Golf Camp 8-14 Years 8-14 Years This camp is a fun and exciting way for kids to learn the game of golf. All aspects of the game will be covered. All abilities welcome. This camp will be taught by a local CPGA Professional. Golf clubs are available for use if needed.

Please dress for any weather, bring water and a snack.

Meet Tanya, our Personal Trainer at SEAPARC. Tanya has lived in Sooke since 2005 and loves the outdoor activities our town has to offer. She grew up playing competitive ice hockey which has led to a very strong passion for fitness. Tanya is currently completing the Exercise and Wellness Program at Camosun College with a goal of pursuing Physiotherapy as a career. She has a strong passion for helping her clients of all ages develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle as well as making sport specific training plans. She is excited to help you achieve your fitness goals.
