Tuesday 17 September Hamer Hall 2024

On behalf of all Luther College musicians, past and present, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Luther in Concert 2024.
This year’s concert builds on the outstanding 60 year tradition of excellence in performing arts at Luther College. This evening will showcase the rich history and ongoing legacy through performances from our large ensembles, small groups, VCE soloists, and on-screen reflections. We are also thrilled to welcome the Good Shepherd Lutheran Primary School Senior Choir and an encore performance from the cast of the recent college production, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Tonight’s performance is the culmination of many months of hard work and dedicated rehearsals from students and staff. We are excited to bring you an extraordinary display of talent, professionalism, and a prime example of the community and culture created through a shared love of the performing arts. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated Luther College Performing Arts staff for their exceptional teaching and care. I also want to acknowledge the Executive Leadership Team and our Luther College community, whose continued support ensures that all students receive a well-rounded education.
This night would not be possible without the willingness and dedication of our college families. I truly thank you for your commitment in ensuring students attend ensemble rehearsals outside of school hours.
This evening holds special significance as it marks the final concert for our Year 12 musicians and performers. I am grateful to our Music Captains, Holly Bowd and Abby Harris, as well as our many ensemble leaders, for their role in shaping the future of our performing arts program.
To the departing students, may your experiences be cherished memories as you embrace new opportunities now and into the future. Thank you for your contributions, your passion and commitment to music at Luther College.
We trust that you will be inspired and entertained by the talents of both current and past Luther College students, and we thank you for your continued support of the performing arts at Luther College.
Please enjoy Luther in Concert 2024.
