Monaco to you is ?

Still a place I have to visit as crazy enough that I have never been!

How you feel about collaboration with APM Monaco?

It't quite minimal. I don't wear many pieces but I like to wear when there is a story. I usually wear earrings as I feel they brighten up my face the most.

What profession did you want to go into when you were a little girl?

A few but the top one for many years was oceanographer. I was fascinated with ocean after watching LE GRAND BLEU for 100 times and wanted to do a job that allows me to be the big blue as well. Though things went to a different direction. I still like staying at the sea as it is my happiest place in the world.

A few must dos in Paris and New York?

I left Paris 5 years ago so I like to come back as a tourist and do all the touristic things like going to have a croque monsieur at Café de Flore, or taking my daughter to the carousel by the Eiffel Tower or on a Bateau Mouche along the river. Before, I used to drove around the night when I lived in Paris with my vintage Mini.

Now I lived in New York, I always love walking around as there are so many new things to see from time to time. My favorite thing to do in there is going for a long run around Central Park. It's always a great easy escape from the city life within the city. I am a more outdoorsy person than what people would think! Another favorite thing is to go hiking to Upstate New York, it is just an hour from New York to there. I feel visitors are less aware of everything around the city! It's a shame!

The secret to your personal glow?

I sleep a lot! I try to go to bed shortly after putting Romy to bed, I know it's boring but I need my 8-hour-sleep. For these 10 years, I have been visiting my facialist, Naehi who owns Mist Beauty in New York. I guess I owe my glow to her a lot!

What advice would you give Romy if she wants to follow in her gradmother's and your footsteps into the world of fashion when she grows up?

I have no idea what she will want to become and don't want to influence her in any ways. I really want her to do exactly whatever she want, and be happy, and just be there to support her choice. She is pretty stubborn but confident, so I am not too worried for her whatever she decides. Right now she wants to become a president!

What is next fro Julia Restoin Roitfeld?

I am really trying to develop my own clothing line. I know it sounds cliché but to be totally honest. I like things that are very simple and timeless, I feel that is really different these days to have something with nice quality, affordable, chic and basic...
