Cwrt Tarell News

Summer 2015

Following the consultation event in May and feedback we have received since then, we now have your suggestions on how to address some of the issues identified previously.

You told us that fly tipping and the bin store areas was an issue. We have listened: • Cynefin (part of Natural Resources Wales / Welsh Government) have supplied us with “No Fly Tipping” signage and two cameras which we plan to put up shortly. • The signs will be put on the front of the bin stores with the cameras placed to monitor them. Powys County Council Environmental Department is prosecuting a local business who allegedly dumped oil containers in Cwrt Tarell. We are waiting to hear the Court’s decision on this matter. We hope that it will be reported in local papers as a deterrent to other fly tippers. We have asked Powys County Council for another bin and this is on order. We will be arranging a one-off skip amnesty, after which there will be no excuse for dumping bags and other items in the bin areas. We will also be coming around to speak with you all about the importance of recycling. This is not an optional activity. It is expected of everyone living in Powys.
