SERVICE LEARNING THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY 9TH GRADE SERVICE RETREAT The Ninth Grade service retreat was a wonderful success as each of our Ninth Grade students traveled to a variety of locations to meet the needs of a wide range of communities and organizations. Locally, a large group of students taught creative writing and hands-on science workshops at our partner school, Grand View Boulevard Elementary. Twenty-five students worked to beautify and develop the STEM learning yard—created last summer by Windward students—at the Westside Children's Center. Another group helped to support the animals at Adopt and Shop, just around the corner in Culver City, while a fourth group hosted a music sharing and social event at Sunrise Grand View Palms Senior Living Center. It was a vibrant day of building relationships and connections in our neighborhood.
