My name is Di Wu. I graduated with bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from the Department of Architecture and Management, Jincheng College of Sichuan University in June 2016. Then I went to Shenzhen, Guangdong, and joined CCDI Group, the largest architecture design corporation in China as a fresh graduate. This portfolio is the selected works combining my theoretical foundation with my 4-year professional experience. It contains 4 selected projects. The first and the last projects were completed during my undergraduate studies. The first one is my graduation project, a renovation design for historical relics protection. I slightly adjusted the original layout by designing a highline walk to take the advantage of the natural resources. The last one is the work for a competition I participated in. I designed an inclusive space with a brand-new concept in response to the theme set by the contest. The other two were completed when I worked in CCDI Group. The first is an urban renovation design, and the other an architectural one. In the urban design project, the site is at the bank of a reservoir, which benefits from both great natural and urban resources. The project is aimed at activating the vicinities, creating a regional center and a city landmark. The architecture design focuses on the small-scaled buildings, and how to make them fit in the specific environment is the key. My career goal is to better shape the environment through rational plans and creation of functional buildings. To these ends, I will continue to learn and immerse myself in this field.

Thanks to the world-famous historic and cultural heritage Dujiangyan Irrigation System, the West Street shares great prestige throughout history. In 2013, an earthquake struck this area and left numerous buildings to be refurbished. As the component of the history and culture heritage, it requires an approach to minimize impacts by the construction to the existing, refine the defects and animate the vicinities. The project aims at restoring the damaged dwellings after the earthquake, renovating the underdeveloped plots, and that protecting the historic and religious buildings in order to make the West Street vivid again.

This project locates near a reservoir aiming at renovating the region to make it vibrant again. It will become the CBD in the future, a 600 meters tall skyscraper included. The special waterfront site is rich in natural resources. How to make the CBD with a such edifice fit in the environment peacefully is an essential point we should take into account. Water gives birth to all life. In Chinese culture water also brings fortune and hope. Inspired by the texture of the watercourses on the ground, we follow the spontaneous and fluent lines as the design guideline of the masterplan, making it continuous into the architecture and landscape design.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN
FLOWINGWATER CORE
A s the landmark of the regional center, the 600
meters tall tower is a key component in the composition of the city skyline. The concept of the tower form is from the flowing water, which symbolizes the fortune in traditional Chinese culture. Flowing from the top, the lines twist around the tower making it rise straight from the ground.

ROOFTOP CIRCULATION
To be an urban complex, the fundamental and essential thing is
the circulation study. The traditional development model brings the disorder of the pedestrian and vehicles, which causes the traffic congestion. With such a large volume of development, we design a highline pedestrian walk system to separate vehicles and people . Not only does it elaborate the circulation but also offers more greening and public space.
Currently the tallest tower Pingan financial center is 692.5 meters
tall in Shenzhen. As a landmark ranking the second, it requires the designers to care much more about the form from a larger scope than a usual tower design.
What would it be like tomorrow?

COFFEE SHOP DESIGN OF THE SCC PLAZA IN SHENZHEN COASTAL CITY Architecture / Landscape Team Work in CCDI as architect Media: Auto CAD, Sketchup, V-Ray, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China
This project locates in a bustling central commercial district. The original design is feasible elsewhere but in this special area. After knowing the client's needs, we make a plan based on a full-fledged design and construction. The project aims at creating space to divide the solemn business square from the busy commercial pedestrian street at a minimum cost of damage. Plus, how to create a building which fits the current surroundings is also an issue that the designers should take into account.
An overhead pedestrian street stretches across the commercial district, connecting the city and the seaside. The site lies aside the street. The square was designed as a solemn space and a component of the towers, which contain offices and a Marriott Hotel. Because of its special location, some issues come around. Some people carry out activities in the plaza and behave not correctly in terms of the towers' ambience itself, for example, lying on the bench, walking the dog or playing games with their kids. No doubt does it not match the character of a business square. The client hopes for 2 little coffee shops to change the situation, aiming at separating the business square from the active commercial street. How to make them perfectly fit the surroundings is a issue we should explore, including the shape and the envelope.

ROADSHOW STAGE What is "Body Culture Club"? MAIN ENTRANCE The corporation pointed out that the sports had become not only competitive to top athletes but closely related to every single individual. "Hence, within these diverse types of sports, not becoming competitive, while facing oneself and enhancing sports as a culture, are coined as 'Body Culture', a place to practice and interact with 'Body Culture.' " It gives me a clue aiming at the office workers to create a diversified sharing environment in high-rise office buildings, explore a comprehensive possibility of high-rise office buildings in addition to the traditional “density” office form, and explore a new office social mode in the future.

Body Culture Club
The club is set into the office building. The typical design plan is feasible to most buildings as long as their standard floor plans are rectangular. No matter if the tower is the edifice or normal building, the design can be easily adjusted to fit it.
"T he club can be built in all most every office tower."

fold into the ground The white continuous folding shell installation partially folds into the ground, tears into a wall, turns into furniture and forms into a window. The club is defined as an interactive space. It forms a series of social behaviors, such as sitting, standing, lying, where people talk, gather, wait and encounter. It can be a space, a place, a furniture.
FUZZY BORDER
People’s life style segments are more like pixel puzzles, with fuzzy boundaries and mutual
penetration.
The design attempts to create a flowing and inclusive space, just like the unclear definition of "body culture club", which can overlap and connect various scenes, meet with various people, events, environments and values, and become a dynamic and inclusive social place. The standard floor of the tower is redefined as a unique space container, by which fragments of life are connected in series and reorganized. It is a place for meeting, sports, art exhibition, a place of leisure, sharing, social interaction, and various possibilities.
SKY GARDEN Interior lighting design simulates the most comfortable natural state. A large number of diffuse lighting spread throughout the space, forming a whole uniform sense of space surrounding. The inner structure is wrapped with mir rors that reflect and extend the space. While incr easing the illumination during the day, it also extends and overlaps the inner and urban landscape, providing a garden like indoor space for various social scenes.
