Crossing into Slovakia, you’ll call at the country’s capital Bratislava, where you’ll enjoy a wonderful guided tour, taking you to see some of the city’s most inspiring sights, from its beautifully restored baroque old town to the 17th century fortress which overlooks the Danube. The afternoon will see you cruise into Lower Austria toward Durnstein, with chance to admire the stunning scenery along the riverbanks from your ship.

From the quaint Austrian town of Linz, you travel to the iconic city of Salzburg, famed as the home of legendary composer Mozart. Here you’ll not only have the opportunity to explore the city’s maze of narrow streets brimming with historic architecture, but also visit the marvellous Hellbrunn Palace with its famous trick fountains.

Sailing back into Budapest to complete your voyage, you’ll benefit from a fantastic guided tour and the chance to explore on your own, from historic Castle Hill to the dramatic Parliament Building on the banks of the Danube. In the evening, a gala dinner on-board offers the perfect way to round off this incredible journey in style.

Navigating the Danube through Hungary and arriving in historic Esztergom, Hungary’s capital during medieval times, you’ll have the chance to step ashore and explore.

Discover Esztergom’s ancient castle, marvel at the many beautiful baroque churches and visit the town’s grand Renaissance basilica – home to a wealth of fascinating artefacts – as you soak up the region’s enchanting atmosphere.

Arriving in Durnstein, you’ll have the chance to see for yourself the world-famous Benedictine abbey in nearby Melk, an enormous and extraordinary historic landmark which stands resplendent on a hilltop, overlooking the surrounding countryside. After exploring its many fine rooms and uncovering it’s medieval manuscripts, you’ll rejoin your ship and set sail upstream through charming Nibelungengau.

Boarding your river cruise ship in the picturesque historic centre of Cologne, you’ll have time to settle into your cabin and familiarise yourself with your vessel as you’re welcomed aboard your first-class floating hotel.

Continuing along the Danube past quaint Boppard and the impressive Marksburg Castle in the morning, the afternoon will see you arrive in Rudesheim for some free time to discover its many bustling cafes and wonderful vineyards, as well as the chance to take a cable car ride to the incredible statue of Germania, which stands overlooking the Rhine’s exit from the gorge.

After a morning of scenic cruising, you’ll cross into France to visit beautiful Strasbourg, capital of the nation’s Alsace region. Here you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the city’s unique and charming 16th century old town, divided by canals and a labyrinth of narrow streets, as well as the chance to sample some of the world-famous wine for which the region is renowned.

Discover some of Switzerland’s most inspiring destinations during a day of unforgettable exploration.
