This seven-hour tour begins with a 45-minute drive through picturesque countryside to Aix-en-Provence, where you’ll enjoy a walking tour of this quaint village, with its beautiful fountains and squares. Discover the Cours Mirabeau, a wide picturesque walkway lined with trees and cafés, such as the famous is Les Deux Garçons, once frequented by famous French cultural figures such as Paul Cézanne, Émile Zola and Albert Camus.

At this point, there’ll be some free time in Aix, where you can do a spot of souvenir shopping in one of the small shops or markets, or, if you prefer, just relax and enjoy a coffee or snack at one of the many eateries.

The tour will then take you on the one-hour scenic drive to Cassis, famous for its cliffs (falaises) and sheltered inlets or calanques. Your guide will tell you more about the area as you travel. Cassis is a beautiful village with a picturesque port and you’ll have approximately an hour and a half to spend shopping, eating or just relaxing.

After spending some free time in Cassis, your transportation will return to the port of Marseille to reach your cruise ship in plenty of time for your cruise ship’s departure.

The drive to Aix-en-Provence takes approximately 45 minutes. When we arrive, we’ll head off on a walking tour of the area in order to admire its beautiful fountains and squares. You’ll also see the Cours Mirabeau, a picturesque walkway lined with trees and the occasional water fountain.

Aix is great for souvenir shopping. It has great markets and shops for you to buy souvenirs from, or you can just just relax and enjoy a coffee or snack at one of the many eateries.

There will also be some free time for you to wander the beautiful rues of this lovely town.

Alternatively, you may wish to go with your guide to Cezanne’s Workshop. This is just a short drive away from the main centre and here, you’ll be able to view the gardens Cezanne once worked in and if you wish, enter his workshop (5 euros per person entry fee).

Finally, we’ll head off on a scenic journey back to Marseille port in plenty of time for your cruise ship’s departure.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a relaxed tour. If you don’t wish to go on the walking tour, you’ll be allowed to discover Aix by yourself. You’ll need to inform the guide and the guide will then inform you of the meeting point to return back to the port.

When disembarking from your cruise ship you will need to board a free shuttle bus for the two-minute journey to the coach park, where all private tours leave from.

You will be met at the coach park in Livorno port by a Cruising Excursions representative and taken to your air-conditioned transportation, ready to start your transfer to the city of Florence.

This excursion allows you to explore this beautiful city by yourself, enabling you to take in the many galleries, historical sites and numerous street markets. The drive from the cruise port to Pisa takes about 45 minutes. Your dedicated guide will give you running commentary throughout the journey and will stay with you throughout the day, except during your free time in Pisa and Florence.

At Pisa you’ll get approximately 45-60 minutes to experience the attractions of the Piazza dei Miracoli (Miracle Square), including the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Pisa Cathedral, the Pisa Baptistry and the Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery).

The coach will then transport you through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance - a journey of approximately one and-a-half hours. The Colosseum: Your first stop, the Colosseum, was completed in AD 80 and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering, hosting gladiatorial contests and public spectacles until the early medieval era. There isn’t enough time on this tour to enter the Colosseum - however, we will be in the Colosseum area for around 15 minutes so photographs can be taken.

We will then board our tour bus to take us to the outskirts of the city centre where we will continue a walking tour of The Spanish Steps, The Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon and Piazza Navona. After the walking tour and free time, we will again board our transportation to St Peter’s Square, on arrival at the Square we will continue our walking tour with free time to explore

throughout its almost 2000-year history.

Piazza Navona - Built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, in the 1st Century AD, this beautiful square is a perfect place to souvenir shop or just sit and have a snack and coffee. The tour will finish here at around 11am and you can enjoy free time in the area until around 2.30pm when the bus arrives to take you to St Peter’s Square.

St Peter’s Square - The striking square and its imposing colonnade lead to the greatest basilica of the Christian world. St Peter’s Basilica also represents the core of the Vatican City, the smallest state in the world. You can spend free time in St Peter’s Square until approximately 3.30pm, when the tour will leave for the journey back to the port of Civitavecchia with plenty of time before your ship departs.

The Spanish Steps - This monumental stairway was completed in 1725 and is often used to host famous fashion shows. The steps provide a stunning location in which to relax and take in the city’s stunning features.

The Trevi Fountain - Inspired by Roman triumphal arches, this is the largest and most famous Baroque fountain in Rome.

T This popular half-day tour incorporates a tour of Naples together with a visit to the ruins of Pompeii – taking you back to the fateful day in 79 AD when neighbouring volcano Vesuvius erupted. The air-conditioned transportation departs from and returns to the port entrance, which is a very short distance from where your cruise ship docks.

The tour of Naples includes stops at the cathedral to visit the Treasure Chapel and Basilica, which date back to the 4th century. You’ll also take a trip to the Piazza del Plebiscito to see the Royal Palace, then go on to visit the Town Hall Square and finally, the New Castle.

Driving to Pompeii, we’ll enjoy fabulous views of the city of Mount Vesuvius and the beautiful island of Capri to the right.

Pompeii was totally destroyed by Vesuvius’s eruption in 79AD, which killed all 20,000 inhabitants of the city. During the 1860s, the site was very carefully excavated, and today visitors can wander the streets, visit the shops and even enter homes left exactly as they were minutes before the disaster.

Experience the immense history of such fascinating sites such as The Forum, the Suburban Baths, the House of the Vettii and the infamous ‘Lupanare’ brothel!

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. As this tour involves walking on uneven ground, including the negotiation of large slabs on the streets of Pompeii, it is not recommended for guests with mobility difficulties or wheelchair users.

You’ll return to Naples Port with your guide in plenty of time to re-join your cruise ship.

Your guide will be on hand to give you all the information on what is arguably Europe’s most compelling archaeological site.

After the visit to Pompeii there will be a little free time for you to use the rest room, get a coffee or do a little souvenir shopping.

The tour will continue with a beautiful drive down the Amalfi Coast, along what is said to be one of the most spectacular coastal roads in Europe. There will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way and you’ll be able to view the cliffside village of Positano from above (please note: this tour does not enter the town Position).

Finally, the tour will stop in Sorrento, a beautiful town straddling the cliffs overlooking the water to Naples and Mount Vesuvius. There will be free time to explore the area, visit the souvenir shops and sample the local produce of Sorrento - an area famous for its lemons and the production of the digestif, Limoncello.

The tour will end with a drive back to the port of Naples which will take approximately 90 minutes, leaving plenty of time for your cruise ship departure.

This half-day guided excursion of Dubrovnik, a Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea, begins with a visit to Park Orsula. Located just minutes from the heart of the city, Park Orsula offers panoramic views of Dubrovnik and its city walls. The walls run almost 2 km around the city with a system of turrets and towers which were intended to protect the city and are a popular location forfilming - most recently for the popular television series, Game of Thrones.

You will then continue into the old town where you can stroll along Stradun Street. This limestone-paved pedestrian street runs some 300 metres through the Old Town. Stradun became the main street during the 13th Century after a devastating earthquake hit the city. Many of the houses lining the street were rebuilt, giving it a very uniform appearance. On this street, you will see some of Dubrovnik’s most famous landmarks, including the Sponza Palace and Onofriou’s Fountain.

Dubrovnik is a fascinating city full of history and culture - in 1979, it was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites - and must be seen.

You will be met at the port of Messina by a Cruising Excursions Representative who will guide you to your air-conditioned transportation, ready to commence your tour.

This excursion will take you on a scenic two-hour drive to the slopes of Europe’s highest and most active volcano, Mount Etna, where you will enjoy sweeping views of lava fields.

In the afternoon, the tour will continue to Taormina. This Sicilian hilltop town featured in the Godfather films and is home to the Greek-Roman Theatre - the perfect place to enjoy some free time before returning back to Messina cruise port.​

The tour will commence with a scenic drive to the ancient archaeological site of Nora and its recently-unearthed excavations. Here, our guide will be able to give you information about the grounds and the temples that originally stood here many years ago (Entrance to Nora archaeological site is payable on the day, approximately €7-€8 per person)

After Nora, the tour will continue to the quaint town of Cagliari on a scenic journey with plenty of photo opportunities. In Cagliari, you’ll have the chance to a visit the Castle Quarter with its mighty walls, located on a hill 100 metres above sea level. We’ll spend some time walking the streets with our professional tour guide, who will be giving information about the town and its history.

There will be leisure time available in Cagliari, before we head back to your transportation, ready for the transfer back to the port of Cagliari.

WHAT HAPPENS IF OUR SHIP DOESN’T PORT? If your ship doesn’t port at the destination where you have booked your excursion, due to bad weather etc.., we will offer you a full refund or arrange an alternative excursion in another port of your choice.

WHERE WILL I JOIN MY EXCURSION? Full and clear joining instructions are provided on where to go and at what time. We also include contact details if for any reason you are unable to meet up with your guide. This will be clearly displayed on your shore excursion vouchers.

ARE CHILD PRICES AVAILABLE FOR TOURS? Many of our tours and activities offer child reductions.

Please refer to individual excursions. Infants aged under 2 on the date of the tour can travel on a parent’s lap and are not charged on specific tours.

IF WE DID NOT WANT TO BOOK A GROUP TOUR BUT WOULD LIKE TO JOIN A SMALLER TOUR, WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? We have an excellent selection in the majority of cruise ports for our customers to join the ‘Small Group Discovery Tours’, the maximum capacity is generally 20 passengers, but some of our smaller vehicles are based on 8 passengers per tour.

WHAT IS A TOUR & GO? This tour can commence from the port, your hotel or the airport, you will then go on your excursion and be dropped off at the port, hotel or the airport depending on the Tour and Go reserved. During the tour your luggage will be safely stowed on the transportation.

PORT TRANSFERS We are able to offer a reliable, cost effective service between overseas airport and your cruise port on arrival & departure. In addition we can provide transfers between your hotel and the cruise port / airport and vice versa.
