The San Joaquin River Parkway Western Reaches Access Activation Plan (WRAAP) is a community planning effort supporting the of reactivation of Camp Pashayan (“Camp P”) and developing a recreational trail along the San Joaquin River to the Milburn Overlook to increase public access to the river and recreational amenities in the Central Valley. The project received grant funding from the California Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) to gather community input and to begin development of the documentation to guide the future of these spaces.
WRT worked closely with Fresno Building Healthy Communities (BHC) and the larger consultant team, key stakeholders and the public through an extensive engagement process. To support this process, our team conducted site studies and analysis, which, in conjunction with the outcomes of engagement events, guided concept development. These studies informed the cost estimates and activation plan which will guide the beginning of the transformation of these community resources.
