Cheese

By D.M., age 10 One day a puppy decided to travel to Germany. But as the puppy roamed through Germany, it realized that there was not enough cheese in Germany. So, the puppy decided to go back to Canada, and buy five sacks of cheese. The puppy went back to Germany and donated the cheese to a school, so the school could have lots of cheese for lunch. Then, since there was so much cheese, the kids took cheese home, and had cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Potato Land

By Susan, age 12 If I had my own country it would be called . . . Potato Land! You don’t need to pay rent because the lazy fat president takes care of that. When you’re in Potato Land you eat whatever you want.

Watermelons are $4000 and the only job you can have is at McDonald’s. Everyone is emo, sad, weird and awkward. Everyone in Potato Land likes McDonald’s and if you worked at Wendy’s you were a “rich kid.” One day it will be the end of Potato Land.

Burger Problems

Sitting down on the bench, I take out the lunch my mom packed me this morning. Inside, I find half a tuna sandwich and a chicken leg. “What’s up with my lunch today?” I silently say to myself.

Frustrated, I head to the cafeteria to buy lunch. As I enter, wafts of smashed potatoes and bacon fill my nose. I head over to the counter, confused as ever, and scan over the options. Big bold letters saying “WE R AN OUT” are stamped onto the menu, leaving only one option, a pineapple.

I don’t know about you, but I really don’t want to be eating SpongeBob’s home. Giving up, I head back to my bench, thinking of just eating at home. Out of nowhere, a burger falls onto my lap.

I look up to see if anyone saw it or did it. But no one is outside anymore. I look back at the burger to see that it’s gone. I run back into the school, realizing that my class would be starting, but I run into a wall. I fall onto the ground, making a small *oomph* sound.

I’m trying to get up when I see a hand offered out to help. I look up to see a dark hooded figure. I take his offer and quickly stand up.

“Thanks,” I say. Out of nowhere, he hands me the same burger that was on my lap earlier. Knowing I have no choice, I slowly grab the burger out of his hands. Suddenly, all my surroundings get bigger, or maybe I just get smaller. I try to run, but my feet are stuck onto the floor. The hooded figure above me grabs me with his hands and smirks at me an evil way. He slowly moves me toward his face— more specifically, his mouth. I then realize that I have turned into the burger! And now I am slowly going to be eaten.

Things escalate quickly, then I am back on the bench. I realize that I was probably just dozing off. I go ahead and open up my lunch, only to see a burger inside it.

How did you make it?” He said to use glue, Borax, a cup to mix it in, and dog food for stink. He called it dog food, and I could tell it was so sticky because I saw all the dog food on his hands.

The Loner

By Cathy, age 11 There once was a loner who lived in a wall. He exclaimed, shyly, “Why am I such a loner?” One day he came out of the wall and went onto the streets, looking for a friend. Suddenly, he bumped into a purple person! The purple person was also looking for a friend.

She said, “I’m looking for a friend because no one likes my purpleitis.” So they introduced themselves to each other. Five minutes later, she asked, “Where do you live?” He answered, “I live in a wall because I don’t have a job and I can’t afford rent.” Later on, he invited her to his wall. Her face was surprised, but she decided to follow him anyway.

THE END But . . . The moral of the story is: It’s hard to have a good friend when you live in a wall.

Where’d My Sandwich Go?

The lunch bell rings. I walk down the stairs and through the halls to get to the lunchroom. I’m one of the invisible people in my school.

No one sees me, no one notices me, and therefore I’m invisible. The “popular” kids always bump into me and never say sorry. They are arrogant and selfish. But of course that’s my opinion. I have one friend but she’s more of an acquaintance than a friend. She is kind of popular and sometimes ditches me.

My lunch is always the same. A grilled cheese sandwich. I sit down (beside no one) and eat my lunch. I hear my name.

Jade.

I turn my head and look around but there’s no one to be seen.

Everyone’s already finished their lunch, and I am alone. Who could have said my name? I turn my head back around so I can finish my lunch quickly and leave. But when I turn around, my half-eaten sandwich is gone.

Where could it have gone? I think to myself.

I look around, under the tables, on the ground, literally everywhere in the lunchroom.

“Sandwiches don’t have legs . . .” I quietly say to myself. “Where is it?” *RING*

I can’t wonder about this “sandwich problem” anymore. Or at least for now. I have class to get to. I walk to class. All the popular kids are in the back of the room, laughing. Are they laughing at me?

If they are, why? I ignore them and take my seat. I hear Mary—my acquaintance—also laughing at me. Do I stink, or have something on my back? Can this day just be over already?

I can’t focus very well because I didn’t eat anything for lunch.

I would have if my sandwich didn’t run away. After school I don’t really have anything to do at school so I just go home.

I unlock the door to my house and it is pitch black. I turn on the light, trying not to trip on anything. *CLICK* Everyone from my school is at my house. My house. There is basically a party at my house now. Good thing my parents are away on their business trip.

I go up to Mary. “Mary, what’s going on?” I question her.

“I’m sorry I’ve been ditching you lately. I decided to make it up to you with a party. From now on I will hang out with you,” she says.

I hug her and try my best to enjoy the party. I still wonder where my sandwich went.

A boy comes up to me and says, “Hey. Jade, right? I may have kind of stolen your sandwich so you would be tired and come home early. Please don’t be mad.”

I grin. He probably ate my sandwich. I run to the fridge and get pudding and everybody laughs.

Once there was a banana named Miss Banana. She liked Piggy.

One day Gerald was starting to say “Piggy,” then Piggy said “Piggy” and oinked. When Piggy oinked she kept oinking almost every day. Then she saw a bat, and she screamed like a little girl. The bat screamed like a bat. Aah! Piggy ran away from the bat because she thought the bat would eat her. Miss Banana and Gerald came and said, “Are you okay!?”

Then you came. You saved the day and got them out of the house because the spirits had come there. But they never came back again.

The Emoji Movie (About a Kitty Cat)

Once upon a time there was an emoji named Kitty Cat Emoji. Then Kitty Cat Emoji found Poop Emoji. Kitty wanted a battle. Kitty said, “If you win, you get a cupcake!” So they started to fight. Then Poop’s brother Awesomeness helped Poop fight Kitty. Kitty was about to win, but the fight ended and Poop and Awesomeness won. Then Kitty said, “Ha ha, I win and you guys lose.” Poop said, “No, we won.” Kitty said, “Rock, paper, scissors.” Awesomeness said, “Okay.”

So they did rock, paper, scissors. First, it was Awesomeness and Kitty. Awesomeness lost. Then it was Poop and Kitty. Kitty lost that game of rock, paper, scissors. But Kitty still said she won. Poop said, “Kitty, you did not win.” Kitty said, “Let’s do three rounds of rock, paper, scissors.” But Kitty tricked Poop and Awesomeness with ten rounds, and Kitty still lost.

Kitty said, “Ha ha, I won and you lost.” Awesomeness said, “No, you still did not win.” Kitty said, “Let’s do 100 rounds.” Poop said, “Fine, 100 rounds.” So they did 100 rounds, and Kitty tricked them again with 500 rounds. But Kitty still lost. This time Kitty said, “Ha ha, I lost.” Poop said, “Ha ha, we won.” Kitty said, “Yay, you guys get the cupcake.” Kitty even baked another cupcake for Awesomeness.

Poop and Awesomeness said, “Thank you, Kitty.”

On Halloween a little kid was going to trick or treat there. The little kid was almost eaten by a ghost and he was stuck in the house. The police came and saw the boy in a chair. The little boy was still alive and he told the cops what happened. Then he made it home safe.

There was one doll that she really liked. She asked her mom if she could buy it. “I want to name it Molly,” she said. Then she got the doll. One night a year later she left Molly at the bottom of the stairs. There were ten steps.

My Superhero

My perfect day started when I woke up and all of a sudden I turned into a superhero. If my superhero had superpowers it would be a transportation power from one place to another. If my superhero had a psychic animal it would be a baby kangaroo or a kitten. If my superhero and her kitten could live on a planet other than Earth, it would be called Ice Cream Unicorn Planet or Unicorn Fluffy Planet. If my superhero was a prime minister of Canada she would make homeless people have a lot of food every other day so they don’t need to ask for money or get food from the garbage. When the prime minister was done her job, she would get to celebrate and go to Bora Bora and do a lot of swimming there, and get spa treatments and also a lot of good nights of sleeping, and she would repeat the days over and over until the prime minister got bored of Bora Bora.

But to get back to being a superhero . . . If the superhero prime minister was still in Bora Bora, she would explain what Bora Bora really looks like: bright blue water, clear tall mountains, white sandy beaches, big huts, spa treatments, huge sea turtles, stingrays, underwater scooters, cool seashells and tourists.

Bob’s Boring Life

This Bob and he is 11. He likes to go McDonald’s. Do you?

Bob lives in Vancouver and works for Amazon in Seattle. He leaves from Vancouver, then comes back in five days because he makes $34 an hour, five days a week. WOULD YOU DO THAT? I WOULD! Bob has two siblings, both sisters, who live in a kelp sound.

He makes so much money that he got a Lambo to cross the border in! I would save up for that if I could.

So, back to the story . . . I know for a fact he got across the border on the way to work today. It’s 6:15 a.m. and it’s 10/01/16. He wishes he could get the same job in Vancouver, because he hates the annoying president! Yes, you know who it is. Today is just the day for that! Today was the last day before he goes to work in Vancouver at the HQ. He’s lucky, he will get $49 an hour there—since we are Canadian, we make more money! (Just imagine if our minimum wage was $20 an hour in real life.)

So, Bob never played, or spent time with his family or with his nephews and nieces. BOB WAS SO LONELY. No he wasn’t, because he had a dog! WELL, BYE. P.S.: He was pretty boring.
