Commiee Descriptions

Governance Commiee Tasked with performance review of the Managing Director and Artistic Director, board operations, and recruitment of new board members. Short-term priority is to evaluate the existing job descriptions and staffing needs of the organization. Secondary priority is to create a list of board members with diverse skills to bring the board to 15 members, including one with non-profit or legal background, and one with a finance background.

Financial Commiee

The Financial Commiee is charged with reviewing the finances and budget of WODC, reporting key findings monthly and quarterly, making recommendations to the full board, and evaluating operations relative to our financial goals. In February of each year, the Finance Commiee will provide an Annual Financial Report to the Board of Directors. The Financial Commiee will also review and approve any major event proposals from the directors and/or Programming Commiee.

Programming Commiee The Programming Commiee will generate and evaluate programming and residency ideas for community impact, revenue generation, and adherence to the mission of Write On, Door County. Short-term priority is to pause all new programming and residencies; review existing programming to trim what is not now or does not have good prospects for generating revenue or high participation; and to then develop a recommendation for future operations of the residency, and programming that uses and celebrates the Writing Center. Potentially sub-commiees or task forces could be formed to specific programs or conferences as needed, with specific time frames and responsibilities.

Marketing and Fundraising Commiee

The Marketing and Fundraising Commiee reviews marketing programming and roles. A major goal is to approve an annual marketing plan aimed at driving revenue and participation in key programming. Priority focus is a short-term marketing plan to sell our best programs, conferences, and draw people to the Writing Center.
