We know that as producers, you may be busy and unable to attend on sale day or tour the bull pen. We can assist you with finding the right bull(s) to meet the needs of your program. Please feel free to contact any of the sale consignors or sale staff, who would be happy to assist you with finding the right bull(s) for your program requirements.
INSURANCE
Insurance will be available to purchase on sale day. The animals become your responsibility as soon as sold. We recommend insuring your purchases.
SEMEN RIGHTS
Turnbull Charolais, Char-Lew Ranch and A & L Robbins Ranching Ltd. retains in-herd semen interest on all bulls sold in the sale, at the seller’s expense and owner’s convenience, to be drawn at a future date.
EXCHANGE RATE
For our American friends, the exchange rate will be announced on sale day at the start of the sale.
DELIVERY
If you take home your bull purchases on sale day, $100 will be deducted off the price per bull. Free delivery within 350 kms. In excess of 350kms, delivery will be charged at cost for the kms in excess of 350 kms. Delivery will occur as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk.
WINTERING PROGRAM
The seller(s) will keep your bull(s) until April 30, 2023, free of charge. Insurance is mandatory for this option. After May 1, 2023, a feed charge of $3.50/head/day will be applied.

Welcome everyone to our 3rd Annual Turnbull Charolais & Guests Bull Sale!
It has been very humbling but exciting to see the support in the last 2 years of sales since we have moved the High Country Bull Sale to the Turnbull ranch. We don’t take our customers and supporters for granted, and we feel like moving the sale has only highlighted the loyalty of the people that have supported us along the way. We look forward to many years ahead producing the best genetics that will enhance any cattle producers herd, while recognizing that it could not be done without the support of our past, present and future buyers.
Customer service is the number one priority here at Turnbull Charolais, along with success for everyone that purchases a bull. Each year, as we select our herd sires, we strive to select bulls that have these great attributes, and will produce those same great attributes; disposition, extra hair and calving ease, without giving up performance.
We are extremely proud of the bulls we have to offer this year; from our new and exciting herd sire groups such as Yellowstone and Head Liner to our proven herd sires groups like M.V.P, Hernandez, Platinum, Shoeless Joe, Fortune, Pharoah, Duty-Free and Magnum. We feel confident we have something to offer all types of operations, whatever their production end goals might be.

We can tell you with the utmost confidence that this is the best offering of bulls they have had on offer to date, you don’t want to miss this sale. Turnbull Charolais has once again put forth an exciting offering of yearling Charolais bulls and a small handful of two-year olds. They have been continually sourcing elite herd sires to add to their bull battery and strong, feminine, top producing foundation females to add to their cow herd to produce the calving ease, performance bulls that they are renowned and known for, all while improving and diversifying their genetics to have on offer to you. The results of these efforts are seen when looking at the depth of quality in this year’s bull pen from top to bottom.
The Turnbulls have once again invited Char-Lew Ranch to provide you with an offering of solid, quality twoyear old Charolais bulls, and A & L Robbins Ranching to compliment the Charolais offering with long yearling Red & Black Angus bulls. Throughout the following pages, you will see the strength and quality of the bull pens from all three programs. You will see bulls offered from new and exciting herd sires, but you will also see bulls that are backed by solid, industry leading genetics that have made their impact on their respective breed, in many programs both nationally and internationally.

Homo Polled & 100K Tested :: Knockin Boots has herd bull presence and has been a stand-out since day one. This knock-out MVP son is the complete herd sire package in every way, exhibiting loads of breeding potential. This bull is long, smooth made and stands on an incredible, good big foot. Highlighting a negative birthweight EPD, as well as above average weaning and yearling weight numbers, makes this calving ease bull out of a solid performing, no miss, Ledger cow a stand-out. His granddam has produced many high-end bulls and cornerstone females herself. Knockin Boots tipped the scale just shy of 1,000 lbs at weaning in September. The guess work is done with this future herd sire.

• Pharoah was the lead off bull in the C2 Charolais Bull Sale in 2019. We were in the hunt for a new calving ease sire when we came across Pharoah. He is a long, smooth fronted, attractive headed, deep quartered herd sire with an outstanding hair coat that has produced many functional sons. His calves come easy and tip the scales in the fall.

Welcome to the 2023 Turnbull & Guests Bull Sale. Being in Agriculture isn’t for the faint of heart and the last few years have tested that. The resiliency of those left feeding the world is admirable and we thank you for your interest in our program (even if you are just here to read this intro).
This year’s pen of bulls is highlighted by 2 main sire groups. Front and Centre was Turnbull’s lead off MVP son in 2019 and Tanqueray (Tank) was McAvoy’s feature of their 2019 bull sale. I think both bulls have moved the needle in the right direction. Both sires definitely ‘stamp’ their progeny. After calving their first daughters, we are very happy with the influence these sires will have on our program.
It feels like we have culled this group as hard as any group in recent memory. 6 out of 18 bulls that we had intended on selling this year when we kicked them out to pasture, now aren’t selling for various reasons. So, you can buy with confidence that these are the cream of the crop.
Please come view the bulls prior to the sale. It will be a video sale, so it is encouraged to view the bulls before the sale. Join us for a catered lunch at noon sale day, but if you can’t make it we are back on DLMS for internet buying.

Welcome Everyone! This year we are celebrating the 3rd Annual Turnbull Charolais and Guests Bull Sale. We thank Curtis, Nanette and family for inviting us to consign our Red and Black Angus bulls to this sale.
We are proud to offer a good selection of both Red and Black Angus bulls. We have 20 long-yearling bulls. There are also five two-year-old Red Angus bulls born in April/May 2021, and two Black Angus yearling bulls born in March 2022. These two-year-old bulls and yearling bulls were born at Carolyn and Paul’s. The two-year-old bulls wintered with the herd bulls until mid-December 2022.
Calving ease with good growth is still the main focus of our breeding program. We strive for excellent maternal traits, good feet and good dispositions.
All bulls can be seen at the farm until sale day. They will be at the Turnbull farm for previewing prior to the sale on March 4th.

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately after the sale. Settlement is in Canadian funds. The right of the property shall not pass until settlement is paid in full. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Current exchange rates will be announced on sale day.
BIDDING: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer, or special representatives. Bids must be received prior to the sale, in a sufficient time frame.
DISPUTES: In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: All announcements made from the auction block on sale day will take precedence over the printed material. Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected from the auction stand at sale time and such correction will take precedence over printed material in the catalogue.
PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association or the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made.
IN-HERD SEMEN: Turnbull Charolais, Char-Lew Ranch and A & L Robbins Ranching reserves the right to collect semen on any bull sold through the sale. Semen collection will be at seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.
BREEDER GUARANTEE: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove that the bull is a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.
EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In the case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.
INSURANCE: Insurance will be available for purchase on sale day.
DELIVERY: Assistance will be given with making delivery arrangements after the sale. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk.
ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither Turnbull Charolais, Char-Lew Ranch, A & L Robbins Ranching, the auctioneer, sale staff or Wright Livestock Marketing Services sale management assumes no responsibility in the matter and disclaims any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident or loss of property.
SALE MANAGER: Wright Livestock Marketing Services Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his/her obligations, or for any warranties, guarantees or representations, expressed or implied. Wright Livestock Marketing Services Ltd. does not assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties. Wright Livestock Marketing Services Ltd. assumes no responsibility for any credit that is extended by the seller to the buyer.
