Healing Wounds With Hydrocolloids

Page 1

Healing Wounds With Hydrocolloids Hydrocoll dressing is advanced wound dressing that resembles an absorbent, flexible wafer typically both waterproof and self-adhering.

CLINICALLY NONINFECTED WOUNDS: Though they can help to prevent infection, it’s recommended only over the non-infected wounds.

WOUNDS WITH MINIMAL DISCHARGE: Hydrocolloids are best with drier wounds, as the dressing provides a moist environment for wound healing.

MINOR OR FULL-THICKNESS BURNS: Superficial to partial thickness burns can be dressed with hydrocolloid dressings, as long as they do not cause a lot of exudate, and are not infected.

ULCERS RESULTED FROM DIABETES OR FUNGAL INFECTION: STOP MALARIA FOUNDATION Suitable for such wounds as the dressing adheres to the intact skin and helps absorb fluid discharge out of the wound bed.

NECROTIC WOUNDS AS A RESULT OF VASCULARIZATION: Hydrocolloid dressing can also be used over granular and necrotic wounds, as they protect newly healed skin quite well. FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT US AT WWW.HTTP://WOUND-CARE.CO.UK/
