ADVENTURE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE
Want to come face-to-face with sloths, deer, kangaroos and more? The Exotic Animal Experience in Orlando allows you to do just that. The hands-on, interactive experience lets you meet and pet the animals in either a private or group setting. Rates start at $150 for group visits and range up to $380 for the ultimate experience. Visit exoticanimalexperience.net to book your experience, or call Leslie Rush at (407) 383-6766.
CHILL LAKESIDE LIVING
For some peaceful, outdoor time, why not spend some time near Lake Baldwin this summer? Head down to the Baldwin Park Village Center to grab lunch at Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Gators Dockside or at one of the other local restaurants before grabbing a bench by the water. Nearby Lake Baldwin Park covers just more than 23 acres and is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. Courtesy Exotic Animal Experience
SHOP SUMMER SPRUCE-UP
Adjectives Market — which has locations in Winter Park, Altamonte Springs and Winter Garden — offers more than 50,000 square feet of space showcasing the different styles of home décor. For locations and hours, visit adjstyle.com.
SIP COOL DOWN
EAT DOGGIE TREAT
If you haven’t checked out Gotha’s eclectic restaurant, Yellow Dog Eats, you’re missing out on a crowd favorite. The hippie vibe and unique décor makes for a fun atmosphere, and YDE is known for its unique barbecue sandwiches. See if you can spot the neighborly black cat, which can often be found napping or foraging for food on the back porch. Visit 1236 Hempel Ave., Gotha. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Call (407) 296-0609.
For a refreshing cool-down, it’s absolutely worth it to check out Absofruitly. Absofruitly uses locally sourced, organic products to create smoothies, acai bowls and more. The menu includes six tasty fruit concoctions. You can typically find the Absofruitly truck Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 p.m. at Colonial Plaza, south of Toojay’s Deli. Check the website at absofruitly. us to keep up with where the truck will be any day. Call (407) 476-7723.

Experience the health benefits and rejuvenation of yoga-based stretches and relaxation exercises, or experience community hatha yoga, Reiki and restorative yoga. To find a yoga class at an Orange County Library System branch near you, visit ocls.info/classes-events and search for “yoga.”
SING TAKE THE STAGE
Belting out your favorite songs without fear of judgment is the epitome of karaoke, and you can take the girls or guys for a fun night out to experience Pilars’ weekly karaoke night. Host Billy Flanigan, a Disney cast member, keeps the open-mic night moving. Visit Pilars Martini, 146 W. Plant St., No. 120, Winter Garden. Karaoke takes place at 8 p.m. Thursdays. (407) 369-8900.
LEARN ARTISTIC ADVENTURE
Try your hand at creating a mixed-media painting on canvas — no acrylics or oils needed. You’ll use an environmentally friendly polymer called Powertex to create textures, crackle effects and more. Canvas and materials are provided; students should take a pallet knife, soft brush and a heat tool (such as a hair dryer). Regine Dossche will teach the class. This class takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at the Winter Garden Art Association, 127 S. Boyd St., Winter Garden. Cost is $95 for members and for $110 non-members. Call (407) 347-7996
STYLE WARDROBE REDO
Need a new summer wardrobe? Avalon Exchange in Winter Park hand picks sellable clothing, jewelry, bags and shoes — some of it vintage or designer — so the selection is a direct reflection of the community. It’s worth a stop in to see what you might find.
