YOUR TOWN NATIONAL MERIT SEMIFINALISTS ANNOUNCED Orange County Public Schools is celebrating 33 seniors from 12 OCPS high schools chosen as semifinalists for the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Twelve hail from West Orange-area high schools: n Dr. Phillips — Talib Hakim and Peter Toma n Olympia — Brenden Berrios, Blake Bradford, Jake Shannin and Jasmin Singh n West Orange — Daniel Gordon, Catherine Kim, Shannah Nice and George Tomecek n Windermere — Kavya Shah and Griffin Willman These seniors now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for one of 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million.
